Abstract:
It is known that sleep problems affect people’s wellbeing and has great consequences for public health. Restless legs syndrome (RLS) gives uncomfortable sensations in the legs at rest, leading to an irresistible need for activity. It aggravates in evening and at night. Therefore, RLS provides poorer sleep and can affect quality of life through fatigue, family life and social activities, work, and comorbidity. It is demonstrated a dysfunction of the dopaminergic system in the brain with low levels of dopamine and / or less sensitive dopamine receptors. RLS is more common in women and the preval

Abstract:
Infants of mothers who have received narcotics on a continuous basis during pregnancy are born physically dependent. Drug withdrawal, one of many detrimental effects, is initially the most apparent. Neonatal abstinence syndrome (NAS) was originally described as a generalized disorder characterized by signs of central nervous system hyperirritability, gastrointestinal dysfunction, respiratory distress, and a host of vague autonomic manifestations. Recent studies have suggested that these same signs follow withdrawal from other addicting drugs as well. Feeding problems are the most common and im

Introduction Pregnancy-related disorders such as pre-eclampsia (PE), intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), and pre-term birth (PTB) significantly contribute to maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality in all human societies. Each of these conditions can result from placental insufficiency, a pathophysiological condition affecting the placenta due to trophoblast dysfunction. Maternal complications during pregnancy such as gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) and perinatal depression (PD) show significant associations with these placental pathologies. Abstract:
Objective: Pregnancy requires thorough monitoring and management because not only is it a time where normal physiological and psychological changes put a mother under stress and strain, but maternal sensitivity begins to develop, and the developing foetus needs a well regulated intrauterine environment. Such important processes can be compromised by abnormal or inconsistent physiological and emotional regulation. The study aimed to explore pregnant women’s regulation capacity at rest and their physiological reactivity, and return to physiological baseline, in response to infant related stimuli

Abstract A low level of physical activity and poor physical fitness are important risk factors of chronic non-communicable diseases and all-cause mortality. Much of the risk of these diseases originates in fetal life. The associations of early-life determinants with physical activity and fitness later in life are as yet not well studied. The aim of this work was to investigate early-life factors as predictors of physical activity and fitness in adolescence and young adulthood. We assessed a wide range of parental and pregnancy-related factors in 16-year-old adolescent participants of the North

It is estimated to affect 9.9﹪of school-age children in Taiwan. Both genetic and environmental risk factors have been implicated in the etiology of ADHD.
