The body in the swimming pool as metonym for trouble in paradise is a recurrent motif bordering on cliché in Hollywood/West Coast sunshine noir. Through an intermedial survey of film, TV and literary fiction, photography, design and architectural history, crime and environmental, reportage, public health and safety documents this article examines the domestic swimming pools ambiguous status as a symbol of realised utopia within the Californian mythos from the boom years of the backyard oasis in the wake of the Second World War to the era of mass foreclosures, restricted water usage and ambient dread inaugurated by 9/11, the global recession and the severest drought in the states recorded rainfall history.

Cet article présente des résultats d’entrevues effectuées auprès de onze mères franco-ontariennes qui cumulent un emploi et les soins à dispenser à un enfant ayant le trouble d’hyperactivité avec déficit de l’attention (THADA). Ces mères vivent plusieurs défis reliés aux comportements de l’enfant et aux attitudes négatives. Ces deux défis ont beaucoup d’impact sur leur vie familiale, personnelle et professionnelle. Compte tenu du fardeau et du peu de soutien disponible, elles doivent accomplir une triple journée de travail ou faire des concessions sur le plan de leur carrière.

The performance of bogie decreases according as traveling distance increases. Its causes were expected to be fatigue, wear, and deterioration. Especially, maintenance coat needs about triple than manufacture cost during required life in case of container and uncovered freight car. Freight car doesn’t adapt corrective maintenance which repairs a poor part after a trouble but use preventive maintenance which fixes a bad part before a trouble. There were a few researches on preventive maintenance such as inspect affairs and facilities management. They couldn’t estimate the operation reliability on railroad vehicle. Therefore, this study proposes the preventive maintenance procedure that predict repair period of end beam for uncovered freight car using reliability function and instantaneous failure rate on the basis of fatigue test and load history data.

Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)-targeted therapy has become standard of care in advanced stages EGFR-mutant non-small cell lung cancer. Acquired resistance to first-line EGFR-tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) and subsequent disease progression is a common problem and mostly due to a secondary mutation (T790M) in EGFR. We report a case of a patient with EGFR-mutated lung adenocarcinoma who developed a complex resistance profile: T790M mutation, HER2 mutation and HER2 amplification after first-line EGFR-TKI. This patient was safely treated with a combination of osimertinib and trastuzumab and achieved a clinically meaningful and clear molecular response.This is the first reported case of acquired resistance to first-line EGFR-TKI based on three resistance mechanisms, treated with molecular targeted combination therapy.

Using the turn of the century blackface performer Bert Williams as a case study, this essay explores how we might think about black male performativity in the New World as a historical formation, one that extends both over the time of modernity and across the space of diaspora. I draw from contemporary theories of circum-atlantic performance and black feminist studies of the impact of slavery on black racial and gendered identities, to argue that performance affords a unique window into how blackness is constructed in a space between the black male performer and his equally racialized New World audience. The essay theorizes a notion of key black male performances as ‘signature acts’, then explores discussions of minstrelsy by other black American writers such as Ralph Ellison, Ishmael Reed, and the black British writer Caryl Phillips. Using Fanon's notions of triple-consciousness in tandem with Brechtian and Freudian theories of alienated performances and jokes, the essay concludes with a brief analysis of some of the gendered significations in lyrics from Bert Williams’ first musical comedy and then also in a novel about the performer by Caryl Phillips.

The objective of this paper is to present an advanceduse of Nagios on Raspberry Pi to monitor a network. RaspberryPi is a tiny, low-cost yet powerful computer board with manyapplications. Network monitoring systems constantly monitor acomputer network for malfunctions and failures of servers andnotifies the network administrator in case of trouble. In ourcase, the free version of Nagios installed on a Raspberry Pi hasbeen used to monitor a network at minimal cost. Furthermore,two bash scripts automating the complex process of Nagiosinstallation on Raspberry Pi, as well as Linux host have beendeveloped. In order to elevate the security level of Networkmonitoring we have proposed a triple set of Raspberry Pi Nagiosservers, each one monitoring hosts and servers including theother two Nagios servers (triple modular redundancy). Finally,custom scripts providing useful information about monitoredhosts, such as their operating system, hardware and networking,as well as a special script examining and rating the security levelof Apache web servers, have been developed and incorporatedinto the network monitoring process.

AbstractBackgroundA 7-year-old Caucasian male presented to the emergency department with worsening aggression andbehavioral problems. He was diagnosed with seizure disorder at 9 months old and was started on Keppra. He also had delayed developmental milestones including failure to roll until 6 months, and failure to crawl until after 9 months. At 16 months he was aggressive towards other children including unprovoked attacks of biting and assault. When he was 6yrs old he underwent genetic testing which showed positive for PCDH19 mutation. The most consistent feature of this condition is the early onset ofseizures between 3 months to 3 years of age. He has been on nine anti-seizure medications since his diagnosis. For behavioral problems, he was placed on Focalin, Ritalin, Adderall patch which did not seem to work. He was then on non-stimulants, Zoloft, Prozac, Effexor, Zyprexa and Abilify all with little success.During this admission, patient’s mother described increasing acts of severe physical violence toward multiple people leading to significant bruising. He has a known past psychiatric history of ASD, ADHD,ODD and PCDH19 mutation associated epilepsy. On admission, his medications included Buspirone 5mg BID, Olanzapine 7.5mg BID, Methylphenidate 7.5mg, Ritalin 7.5mg, Zonisamide 150mg qhs, Clonidine 0.1mg qhs. He had significant sensory processing difficulties and lack of communication with peers. He was continued on Clonidine 0.1mg po qhs, Methylphenidate 7.5mg po qam and at noon, Zonisamide 150mg daily. Tapered down Olanzapine and initiated him on Risperidone. His condition improved. He was referred to Thompson center for ABA therapy. He is more interactive and has a smile.DISCUSSIONPCDH19 gene mutations have long since been known to cause epilepsy and behavioral disturbances in females. Males, on the other hand, present as asymptomatic transmitters. PCDH19 is a gene located on Chromosome X and is responsible for the formation of a protein known as protocadherin 19. This protein is especially important as it functions as a Ca2+ dependent cell adhesion in the brain. The PCDH19 mutation, however, impedes protein formation leading to epilepsy and behavioral disturbances. Approximately 90% of symptomatic females possess the mutated gene on one of their X chromosomes. Males similarly carry the mutation on their X chromosome, however are typically asymptomatic. A rare mosaic variant of PCHD19 mutations has been seen in symptomatic males.CONCLUSIONAlthough it is more difficult to think in terms of ASD if a PCDH19 patient has coexisting psychiatric comorbidities like ODD andADHD, clinicians must be keenly aware of other mood disorders. Seizures do not respond well to medications. Family education, psychopharmacological treatment, ABA and CBT were successful in treating the patient. Little is known about the long-term sequela and prognosis of PCDH19 mutation in the male patient population and thus further research is warranted.Funding AcknowledgementsNo funding.

This article, written by JPT Technology Editor Chris Carpenter, contains highlights of paper SPE 201699, “Predicting Trouble Stages With Geomechanical Measurements and Machine Learning: A Case Study of Southern Midland Basin Horizontal Completions,” by Eric Romberg, SPE, Keban Engineering; Aaron Fisher, Tracker Resources; and Joel Mazza, SPE, Fracture ID, et al., prepared for the 2020 SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, originally scheduled to be held in Denver, 5–7 October. The paper has not been peer reviewed. Unexpected problems during completion create costs that can cause a well to be outside its planned authorization for expenditure, even uneconomic. These problems range from experiencing abnormally high pressures during treatment to casing failures. The authors of the complete paper use machine-learning methods combined with geomechanical, wellbore-trajectory, and completion data sets to develop models that predict which stages will experience difficulties during completion. Field Modeling and Well Planning The operator’s acreage is in the southeastern portion of the Midland Basin. In this area of the basin, the Wolfcamp B and C intervals often contain a significant amount of slope sediments and carbonate debris flows because of the proximity of the eastern shelf. These intervals cause significant drilling and completion issues. During the past 5 years, the operator acquired and licensed approximately 130 sq mile of 3D seismic data. In addition, the operator cored three wells, drilled six pilot wells with complete log suites, licensed 40 wells with a triple/quad combination, acquired data and surveys on 112 existing horizontal wells, and has 347 vertical wells with formation tops for depth control. This rich data set yielded a robust 3D reservoir model that was used to map a sequence of stacked, high-quality landing targets. Model-Aided Well-Completion Strategy. The operator often encountered difficult stages in the form of high breakdown pressures, high pumping pressures, and the inability to place proppant. On a few occasions, drilling out all plugs was not possible because of casing obstructions possibly related to fault activation during the stimulation. The operator began analyzing curvature and similarity volumes for potential fault/fracture identification near the difficult completion stages and compromised casing intervals. Drillbit geomechanics data collection was planned for all lateral wells. The geomechanical properties recorded were used to reduce risks during completions further by informing the plug and perforation stage design. Stages were planned to reduce variation in minimum horizontal stress (Shmin) within each stage. The geomechanical data also identified carbonate debris flows within the well path, allowing completion engineers to bypass rock considered unproductive. Completion Issues and Other Factors Contributing to Casing Deformation. From February 2017 through November 2019, the operator drilled and completed 28 Wolfcamp horizontal wells. The plug-and-perforation completion technique was used on all 28 wells. While drilling out composite fracturing plugs, casing obstruction was encountered in six of 28 wells. These obstructions limited the working internal diameter of the production casing and either prevented or inhibited access beyond the obstruction. In two of the Phase 1 wells, conventional drillout assemblies were not able to pass the obstructions.

Le nouveau plan Autisme 2013–2017 ainsi que les recommandations de la Haute Autorité de santé de 2012 insistent sur la nécessité de proposer un accompagnement parental multimodal favorisant la transmission d’information et de compétences ainsi qu’un soutien dans l’ajustement psychosocial au trouble. Dans ce contexte, l’Éducation thérapeutique (ETP) dans sa triple composante pédagogique, comportementale et psychologique fournit un modèle particulièrement pertinent. L’objectif de cette étude est de développer, mettre en place et évaluer l’impact et l’acceptabilité d’un programme d’ETP destiné aux parents d’enfant TSA. Afin de suivre la méthodologie de construction de programme d’ETP [2], notre dispositif a été développé à partir d’une étude préliminaire sur les besoins des parents d’enfants TSA [1]. Chaque séance collective accueille 10 parents. Les thématiques permettent d’aborder les différents aspects de la parentalité (compétences, connaissances, soutien émotionnel, etc.) tout en intégrant les spécificités des TSA. L’utilisation de techniques pédagogiques et d’activités structurées favorisent les échanges et la dynamique de groupe. Un service de garde d’enfant est proposé en parallèle afin de faciliter l’accès au programme. Une session pilote a été proposée au sein d’un Centre Ressources Autisme (CRA), avec un taux de participation de 83,3 %. À la fin du programme, les parents présentent une meilleure connaissance du trouble de leur enfant et rapportent un impact positif tant sur leur niveau d’information que sur leurs compétences éducatives et leur détresse émotionnelle. Cette première session fournit des résultats encourageants quant à la validité sociale et les bénéfices attendus de ce type de prise en charge pour l’accompagnement des parents d’enfants TSA.

This article indicates a reflective paradigm generally ignored in feminist research regarding the sex/gender debate, as presented in the work of Judith Butler (Gender Trouble). First, I address the fact that Butler’s philosophy is inscribed in the hermeneutical tradition of suspicion. Second, I put into relief the implicitly Platonic concept of mimesis, which is central to the anticipated subversion of gender, but uncriticized by Butler and others who follow her line of thought. Third, since Butler’s feminism can’t ward off dualism, nor consider idem and ipse identity, I emphasize Paul Ricoeur ’s concept of triple mimesis and narrative identity, which allows us to depart from dichotomies and hierarchies. Following the path of Ricoeur and Françoise Heritier, I finally defend a feminist hermeneutical point of view, which is differentialist and universal.

Although Joseph Losey is best known as the blacklisted director of films such as the Pinter-scripted The Servant, The Go-Between, and Accident, as well as Mr Klein starring Alain Delon, he also had an important career in leftist theatre prior to making his Hollywood film debut in in the late 1940s. Because of his collaboration with Bertolt Brecht on the 1947 Hollywood production of Galileo, it is assumed that Losey learned from him most of his stagecraft – particularly the use of Verfremdungseffekt and self-reflexivity. However, as this article shows, Losey's apprenticeship was rooted not in the Epic Theatre (which was largely a second-hand phenomenon) but in the Soviet theatrical avant garde, observed at first hand during a 1935 Moscow visit studying the techniques of Meyerhold, Vakhtangov, and Pavlovich Okhlopkov, whose ‘theatre in the round’ stagings and use of complex ramps and projections provided the basis for Losey's subsequent Federal Theatre Project ‘Living Newspaper’ productions – notably Triple-A Plowed Under and Injunction Granted! Under the aegis of co-founder Hallie Flanagan, the Living Newspaper proved to be the model of 1930s political theatre: topical, didactic, fast-paced – and almost immediately obsolete as events superseded the plays' relevance. Colin Gardner is Professor of Critical Theory and Integrative Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is the author of critical studies on Joseph Losey and Karel Reisz for Manchester University Press's ‘British Film Makers’ series and of Beckett, Deleuze, and the Televisual Event: Peephole Art for Palgrave Macmillan. He is currently working with Felicity Colman on a three-volume Encyclopedia of Film-Philosophy.

Aiming at interactions between human system and water system, a new evaluation system for water-human harmony index (WHHI) was built on the base of triple criteria: Natural water cycle’s health degree (NWHD), Social water cycle’s rationality degree (SWRD) and Human-to-water fitness degree (HWFD). Analytic Network Process (ANP) and Entropy Mothed were applied to the evaluation model for Water-human harmony degree (WHHD). With relevant data of WHHI in Zhangye city, Gansu province, the state of the water-human relationship in Zhangye was assessed from each criterion angle and the result showed that water-human harmony situation as a whole was on the upswing, while the trouble of natural water cycle’s health was the biggest shortcoming in the process of harmonious development. This evaluation model can satisfy practical applications and reflect regional objective reality on water-human relationship, which has a certain guiding significance for regional water resource management.

Résumé :

Outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome corona virus was first reported in Wuhan province in China. By February all hell broke loose in Europe and other continents. Spread of virus in India with 1.38 billion population posed an unprecedented challenge to its health care system. We hereby report a rare case of subtrochanteric fracture of femur in a near term (35 weeks) pregnant female who was treated at our tertiary care center in the times of Covid-19. Combination of pregnancy and Subtrochanteric femoral fracture is a double trouble with high morbidity and mortality and in time of Corona pandemic it became a unique challenge where two lives were at risk. Here we share our experience of dealing this case with multidisciplinary approach and sticking to our clinical sense as literature for Covid-19 pandemic is barely 4 months old and devoid of any guideline for such cases so far.

Abstract European trade policy with Africa is in deep trouble. We observe a triple policy failure. (1) The EU tries to draw African partner countries into comprehensive deep integration agreements, far more than these countries can arguably support. (2) For trade in goods, safeguard clauses in the EPAs are patchy. They cannot satisfy African needs for smart protection of agricultural and industrial businesses. Facing the refusal of some African governments to sign, the EU has no answer. Ensuing fragmentation of African regional economic communities is a disaster. Rapid repair work of the existing regional EPA drafts looks more promising than a grand solution with the new African Continental Free Trade Area. (3) Negative impact of the EU Common Agricultural Policy on African producers must finally be acknowledged and at least partly compensated. – A deeply divided economic profession delivering trunked analyses with regard to all three complexes is unfortunately of limited help to policy-makers.

Hole-transporter-free perovskite solar cells carrying a carbon back contact electrode provide the possibility of making full printable low cost and stable devices, even though their efficiency is substantially lower than those made in the standard configuration. The present work searched for simple and easy routes for constructing such devices, demonstrating that organic components do enhance device efficiency but only to a level that is not worth the trouble nor the cost. Devices based on a triple mesoporous layer of titania/zirconia/carbon with perovskite infiltration gave an efficiency of 10.7%. After 180 days of storing under ambient conditions, a small loss of efficiency has been observed for a cell made in June, in spite of the fact that in going from June to December, a large increase of the ambient humidity took place, thus verifying the protective effect that the carbon electrode is providing. The addition of spiro-OMeTAD to the hole-transporter-free device resulted in increasing the efficiency by about 10%, a change which is appreciated to be of low importance given the cost of this material. This increase mainly derived from an increase in the current. Devices of different sizes have been constructed by screen printing, using home-made pastes for all the components making the cell scaffold, i.e., for titania, zirconia, and carbon layers.

Le trouble de la personnalité borderline est l’une des entités les plus complexes à prendre en charge dans notre discipline, notamment du fait : (1) de son caractère multi-dimensionnel (cognitif, émotionnel, et comportemental) ce qui implique des cibles thérapeutiques différentes et une approche plus dimensionnelle ; (2) de son aspect développemental (facteurs de risque précoces, impact des traumas répétés, absence de stratégie de prévention codifiée) ; (3) de sa phénoménologie protéiforme (hétérogénéité des formes cliniques, saturation par la présence de comorbidités, fluctuations dans le temps) ; (4) de la multiplication des modèles théoriques et des éventuelles psychothérapies qui en découlent (mentalisation, schéma-thérapie, DBT, approches systémique, psychanalytique, théories de l’attachement, etc.) ; (5) du peu d’essais cliniques robustes qui ne permettent pas d’établir clairement le bénéfice risque des psychotropes (notamment à long-terme), en dépit d’une morbi-mortalité considérable) ; (6) des difficultés majeures que rencontrent les soignants à maintenir ces patient(es) dans un cadre de soin bienveillant, contenant et durable et à maîtriser leurs propres contre-attitudes de rejet (conduites « punitives » lors d’hospitalisation souvent trop prolongées se terminant par des sorties disciplinaires et/ou de brutales ruptures de suivi sous prétexte de « mises en échecs répétées »). Outil indispensable en science (en tant que démarche), le principe de parcimonie ou « rasoir d’Ockham » est particulièrement adapté face aux situations cliniques et thérapeutiques les plus complexes. Suivant ce principe, les modalités de prises en charges intégratives des personnes borderlines doivent répondre aux impératifs d’une triple parcimonie : parcimonie dans le choix d’un objectif thérapeutique atteignable et simple (par exemple la dysrégulation émotionnelle), parcimonie dans l’utilisation des psychotropes (en dose, en nombre et en durée) et parcimonie dans le nombre de thérapeutes.
