Abstract:
This study aims at clarifying the construction of Arabic cognate Accusative and its realization in English in order to be clearer for the learners who try to understand the structure of the Arabic clause. The study attempts to investigate the verbs that take cognate accusative. It is hypothesized that Arabic learners are not aware of this phenomenon, thus they face difficulties in translating them into English because of the complex forms of cognate accusative. To investigate the hypothesis of this research, different Arabic examples were taken from the authentic books and compare these data with their counterpart in English in order to show the differences and similarities between the two different languages and analyze these data from a syntactic point of view which adopts Langacker’s (1991) framework of cognitive grammar. The study is to be empirical, analytical, and comparative. The researchers use Arabic data from different books and look for the equivalent structures of English so that they give a clear idea about this syntactic phenomenon. The results of the study show that Arabic construction has more uses of cognitive Accusative than English.

Abstract:
In recent years, the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) for Languages, which is a European reference in language issues, has received a lot of attention from foreign language learning activists, including Arabic teachers in various countries. Meanwhile, Arabic language teachers at Islamic schools in Indonesia prefer to use an independent curriculum based on the Decree of the Minister of Religion No. 183, 2019. This study attempts to analyze the content of Arabic books at Madrasah Aliyah (MA) which are based on KMA 183 and compare them with CEFR which focuses on 4 language skills: listening, reading, speaking, and writing. This study is a qualitative research by using a descriptive analytical approach and documentation techniques in data collection strategies. The result of this study is to classify language skill contents into the CEFR classification as follows: (1) the language skills content in the Class X MA Arabic language book fluctuates between levels A2 and B1, (2) while for class XI MA it is at levels A2, B1, and B2, (3) and for class XII MA it ranges between levels A2, B1, and B2 as well. From these results it can be understood that a small part of the contents of Arabic books at Madrasah Aliyah (MA) are at the beginner level (A2), while most of them are at the intermediate level B1 and B2, while normally the CEFR standard in language learning for the intermediate level must be at levels B1 and B2.

Abstract:
At STAIN Curup, Arabic development is not as fast as English development. This can be seen from the holding of international seminars by presenting speakers from Middle Eastern countries but the language used in the seminar is English. Students' interest in admission to the English Tadris Study Program is higher than that of the Arabic Education Studies Program. They consider English easier than Arabic. This research focuses more on the implementation of teaching Arabic and English in STAIN Curup covering objectives, materials, methods, media and evaluation. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection uses observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are data reduction, data display, data analysis, and narrative analysis results. The research result is Muhadatsah teaching and Speaking teaching equally train the students ability in using those languages in communication and interaction with the other person. In teaching not only using the book as a reference but also gives freedom to students in practicing foreign languages by finding new ideas outside reference books that are used as a reference. The learning of Muhadatsah and Speaking in STAIN Curup is Student Centris, by presenting various methods. In learning Muhadatsah only utilize audio media, while in learning Speaking in addition to audio media also use audio-visual media. Overall it can be seen that the teaching of Muhadatsah and Speaking as the teaching of Arabic and English speaking skills is emphasized by the learning process that is learning rather than emphasizing the evaluation.

Abstract:
This study investigates two different ways of representing translation histories, namely, self-representation and other- representation. Moreover, this paper sheds some light on a part of the translation history during the Islamic golden age, specifically, the Abbasid Era. The current study analyzes two different books about the translation history during the Abbasid Era: O’Leary’s book (How Greek Science Passed to the Arabs, 1949) and Al-Khalili’s book (The House of Wisdom: How Arabic Science saved Ancient Knowledge and Gave Us the Renaissance, 2011). The purpose of the analysis is to gain a hint about how people write the history of translation and what factors, either cultural or ideological, interfered in shaping that history. Moreover, considering Al-Khalili’s book as an example of self-representation and O’Leary’s book as an example of other-representation should help in revealing types of convergences and divergences between these two books in representing translation history. The results of the analysis show that there were instances of convergences and divergences between these two books in representing translation history.

The Research discusses the Implementation of the Drill Method in Overcoming the Difficulty of Memorizing Arabic Vocabulary at MTs Alkhairaat Pangi, Parigi Moutong Regency. With the following problem formulation: 1) How to implement the drill method in overcoming the difficulty of memorizing vocabulary in MTs Alkhairaat Pangi, Parigi Moutong Regency. 2) What are the inhibiting factors and supporting the implementation of the drill method in overcoming the difficulty of memorizing vocabulary in MTs Alkhairaat Pangi, Pangi, Parigi Moutong Regency.
The results showed that the implementation of the drill method in overcoming the difficulty of memorizing vocabulary in Class VIII MTs Alkhairaat Pangi was carried out by the teacher by preparing 10 vocabulary words using image media that was pasted or written on the blackboard, after which the teacher and students practiced together repeatedly. Then the teacher evaluates the vocabulary that has been given to each student. The inhibiting factors are the lack of interest of students in learning Arabic and the lack of books that are used as references in learning Arabic. The supporting factors in memorizing students are school environment factors, the state of facilities and infrastructure, and support from parents.
The implication of this research is for teachers to pay more attention to matters related to Arabic language learning, especially increasing learning reference books and always providing motivation to students so as not to get bored quickly in memorization. A lot or a little memorized vocabulary can improve students' mastery of Arabic vocabulary, so as to overcome the difficulties of students in memorizing Arabic vocabulary and make it easier for students to understand Arabic texts.

Abstract:
Bustan al-Katibin is one of the first famous book written by Raja Ali Haji in 1850 AD. It is used in tradisional school in the Riau Islands, Johor and Singapore. This research was significant to be done because Raja Ali Haji had explained that language is not only in linguistic studies, but also in the aspects of ontology, epistemology and cosmology. This study aimed to examine the application of Arabic grammar using Malay by comparing the Arabic grammar system and the Malay language system that has been used in this book. This research was a critical study with content analysis techniques. The primary data source was the Bustan al-Katibin book. Meanwhile, the secondary data sources were books and articles related to this study. The result of this research was the learning of Arabic grammar in Malay as presented in Bustan al-Katibin about aspects of language consisting of: isim, fi'il, and huruf, as a way to help understanding the Arabic grammar. Although the explanation and structure are less systematic in this book, the advantages of this book cannot be ignored because it does not only contain the knowledge of language, but even understanding of language in the system of cosmology, ontology, and epistemology. UU Hamidy explained that his work had been used as a reference in teaching in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries in schools in the Riau Islands, Johor, and Singapore. AbstractThis study traces the early developments of the concept of experiment with a view of extending the subject in both content and approach. It extends the content of the subject slightly backward, prior to the methodological breakthroughs of the Optics of Ibn al-Haytham (Alhazen or Alhacen, d. ca. 1040), which are credited as a "significant landmark in the history of experimental science." And it extends the approach to the subject slightly forward, from the premise that early science was "largely carried out in books," to a close examination of the books through which the footprints of 'experiment' may be traced. The point of departure is the Optics of Ahmad ibn 'Ī;sā, a revealing text for the early developments of concepts such as 'demonstration' and 'experiment', and one through which some modern discussions are examined and extended with reference to this and other historical sources.

The existence of books has a very important role in the learning process, as the saying goes that we are a window of knowledge that we can interpret that by reading books, we will get a lot of knowledge. This study aims to: 1) To find out how the suitability of the presentation of material in the textbook "Arabic Book of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia 2020" in class VIII Madrasah Tsanawiyah with the demands of the characteristics of the KMA curriculum Number 183 of 2019; 2) To find out how learning evaluation techniques through the textbook "Arabic Book of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia 2020" in class VIII Madrasah Tsanawiyah.
This thesis uses a qualitative research approach with the type of research being bibliographical. For data collection using documentary study methods and online data search. As for analysis, researchers use content analysis methods and discourse analysis, namely in-depth discussion of content. The results of this research analysis show that: Arabic Book Class VIII Madrasah Tsanawiyah Published by the Ministry of Religion in 2020 reference from KMA Number 183 of 2019, presented three Arabic language skills. Then it is added with two supplementary materials. The material is presented in order such as from easy to difficult, simple to complex, and from general to specific. The balance of the amount of material presented is not even, so the presentation in the textbook can be said to be less balanced. Evaluation techniques in textbooks include three areas of assessment, namely the cognitive domain, the affective domain, and the psychomotor domain. The exercises provided are one language competence, but this textbook has not presented a comprehensive evaluation activity at the end of each chapter to hone student competence.

The current paper addresses itself to scrutinize the phenomenon of Al-Tadhaad 'one word with two opposite meanings' with reference to Arabic-English translation. It goes undeniable that Al-Tadhaad is based on the investigation of the opposite meanings of one word. Furthermore, in Arabic, Al-Tadhaad is dramatically different from antonymy and polysemy in English. Antonymy is mainly concerned with the oppositeness of two independent words such as big/ small, fast/ slow, etc. As for polysemy, it is restricted to the different and related meanings of one word. So, English lacks even the convenient terminology for such phenomenon. This study verifies that the phenomenon of Al-Tadhaad is widely utilized in the Glorious Quran and generally in the Arabic books.

Abstract:
The academic requirement for students pursuing a major in Arabic language and Islamic studies, among other requirements, demand their proficiency in the comprehension of Arabic literary sources. Past research suggest room for improvement in students proficiency in Arabic literacy. The issue is also encountered by students ofKolejUniversiti Islam Perlis (KUIPs). Therefore, the issue pertains to whether the need for precise criteria in assessing students language competency, specifically their competence in reading Arabic texts, is the fundamental factor contributing to this problem. Therefore, there is a need for a comprehensive investigation aimed at establishing a standardised framework for assessing Arabic reading competency. This study aims to discover the fundamental factors contributing to students shortcomings in this area and develop effective strategies to address these challenges. This study aims to present a standardised framework for assessing Arabic reading competency, explicitly targeting the A1 and A2 levels of the Common European Framework of Reference based on Languages (CEFR). The CEFR is widely recognised as a comprehensive framework for evaluating language skill levels. This study utilises qualitative methods, specifically a literature review and semi-structured interviews, to gather primary data. The main sources of primary data include: 1. relevant studies on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) in general, 2. the CEFR in the context of Malaysia, and 3. the implementation of the CEFR in the Arabic curriculum. Additionally, secondary references such as written books and articles are used. The collected data were analysed employing both inductive and deductive approaches. The results suggest that utilising the CEFR language proficiency level standards during the A1 and A2 phases can be a valuable tool to enhance Arabic reading skills and to support ongoing progress. The study also proposes outlining CEFR-based Arabic reading competence requirements at the A1 and A2 levels. This study recommends the need for further research to obtain expert validation to enhance the proposed standards. Furthermore, it is suggested by the study that further investigation should be undertaken to formulate a proposal of reading proficiency criteria within the elementary levels (B1 and B2) and the advanced levels (C1 and C2).

Teaching and learning process can not be separated from textbooks that play an important role as a reference for teachers and students. A good textbook must be representative of the curriculum that applies both the material and teaching methods so that learning objectives are achieved. Arabic textbooks in the 2013 curriculum use a scientific approach, but grammar material has not been explained in detail so that it affects students' competence to improve language skills. So the researcher developed a book for grammar material based on a scientific approach to improve writing skills. This study aims to develop books based on a scientific approach and determine the effectiveness of the books developed. The results obtained from this study are that the books developed have scored between 80-100% which means very good and can be used in learning without any improvement. While the effectiveness aspect obtained a significance value of around 10.93 which shows that the textbook for grammatical material based on scientific approach is effective to improving students’ writing skills.

Abstract:
Al-Qur'an is a reference for studying Arabic literature. Unfortunately, most of the examples of lafaz that contain Arabic rules, including balaghah in language code books, are more often taken from Arabic poetry. Balaghah science itself is an advanced level of Arabic language rules after nahwu and shorof so that automatically the level of difficulty is also higher. To facilitate learning balaghah, there are several solutions, including taking a contrastive approach. This paper also aims to find alternative solutions to make learning balaghah easier for students. This article is a description of the results of classroom action research which is structured following the rules of qualitative applied research. The conclusions of this paper are 1) Balaghatul Qur'an here is defined as a discussion of lafaz-lafaz in the Qur'an that is fluent and contains the rules of balaghah science. 2) Learning balaghah science is the process of guiding students of balaghah science by the teacher so that students are able to understand, and apply the rules in balaghah science. 3) Balaghatul Qur'an can be applied as a component of learning balaghah science.

The article summarizes some material on the study of the imam-khatyb of Moscow Cathedral Mosque Ahmetzyan Mustafin’s library (1902– 1986). The analysis of Mustafin’s book collection is determined not only by purely bookish interest, but also by the intention to study more thoroughly the daily life of a prominent Muslim religious figure of the Soviet times, his reading interests, his attitude to the book culture, his approach for collecting religious and reference literature. The chronological scope of the collection includes books and manuscripts up to the late eighteenth century — and until the 1970s and early 1980s. Mustafin’s library contains books in Arabic, Turkish, Tatar and Farsi. It also covers various spheres of Muslim theology — Qur’anic exegetics (tafsir), prophetic traditions (hadith), the biographies of the Prophet and his companions (sira), history (tarih), religious law and its methodology (fiqh wa usul al-fiqh), morality (akhlaq), mysticism (tasawwuf) and philosophy (falsafa). Dictionaries occupy a significant place, as well as various editions from the 1960–80s (for example, Qur’an commentaries) brought from foreign trips or received as a gift from foreign guests. Of interest are Tashkent editions of the Qur’an — the fact that expands the idea of Islamic institutions existence in the USSR. We also tried to keep track of the marginal notes on the books.

Abstract:
Textbooks are essential components in learning, but errors are often found, including syntax. It aims to analyze some of the errors found in the textbook used as a reference in learning Arabic at MA Madinatul Ulum and explain the implications of these errors on Arabic Learning. This research uses library research with an applied linguistic approach in error analysis. Data was collected using documentation techniques related to Arabic textbooks, books, journals, and other written works. The data analysis used is a content analysis technique with several steps: identifying, interpreting, and correcting. The research showed that significant syntactic errors were identified. However, the textbook covers various aspects of Arabic skills, such as listening, speaking, reading, and writing, with various cognitive, psychomotor, and affective tasks. These errors deviate from standard Arabic grammar norms, compromising instructional quality, affecting student evaluations, and posing challenges for teachers. By involving language experts in developing instructional materials, providing training for teachers, and promoting the use of alternative learning resources, it is hoped that syntactic errors in instructional materials can be minimized, thereby enhancing the quality of Arabic learning. Recommendations include thoroughly reviewing and improving materials to ensure adherence to educational standards emphasizing syntactic accuracy. Future research should expand to encompass broader aspects of Arabic instruction beyond syntax, encompassing morphology and semantics to enhance educational effectiveness

Arabic for Specific Purposes (ASP) is a branch of Functional Linguistic Disciplines focused on practical areas of language used, such as: Arabic for Banking, Arabic for Diplomats, Arabic for Technology, Arabic for Islamic Studies and so on. Ulum Islamiyyah is a discipline of knowledge that the Quran and al hadith are primary references for instance, Shariah studies, Usuluddin, Quranic and As Sunnah studies and others. Yet, Arabic Language and Ulum Islamiyyah are two terms which clearly related. Early Islamic scholars have discussed and explained the Islamic discipline in their turath books in Arabic. The needs of Arabic for Ulum Islamiyyah should be emphasized in order to achieve the learning objectives and to help students understand the specific vocabulary, terms and phrases in the subjects learnt. Through the survey done, the researcher found that many students faced the difficulties in reading, understanding and verify the Islamic rules from the original texts in the turath reference books. As consequences, the students are not able to discuss the Islamic issues in a broad view. This study used mixed methodology to get the data of needs by interviewing 10 lecturers who are teaching Ulum Islamiyyah courses. The results of this study can be concluded that the Arabic language for Ulum Islamiyyah must be offered to undergraduate students as a subject at the university.

Abstract:
Many scholars have discussed Egyptian Colloquial Arabic (ECA), especially concerning its structure and comparison with Standard Arabic, Modern or Classical. However, whether it is a phenomenon of language variation (diglossia) or it could be a language deviation from the Arabic grammatical rules has not been specifically explored. For this reason, this paper examines the ECA concerning its emergence and existence in Arabic language learning. Literature studies on several reference books and articles about ECA were carried out to present the views of experts regarding this discussion. Based on the results, it can be noted that there are two significant opinions regarding the existence of ECA in the language learning context. The scholars who posit that the ECA is a language deviation inherited the paradigm from the prescriptive study of language adopted by traditional linguistics schools. This perspective appeared as a consequence of the emergence and development of Arabic grammar, as well as the standardization of the language applied at that time. Meanwhile, the scholars who consider the ECA as a phenomenon of language variation tried to objectively portray and describe this language as they learned from the results of research on Egyptian sociolinguistics. This paradigm is in line with structural or modern linguistics which is more focused on the object of study. The results of this study can be used by Arabic language institutions & lecturers as consideration whether to include colloquial language elements in their Arabic teaching or not.

Abstract:
The view of structuralism is Language learning is the acquisition of habits that are strengthened by practice and reinforcement. Language is a skill that is obtained from the surrounding environment and then carried out through imitation and reinforcement methods. Among the Arabic language approaches is a structural approach which requires students to understand language formulas and terms, and students are required to memorize sentence models or word functions. In Arabic, we can see that learning with a structural approach is required to know fi'il, fa'il, maf'ul and many other linguistic terms. researchers use qualitative research and types of literature review or library research is an activity of studying reference books. This activity is useful for obtaining a theoretical basis related to the problem under study. Literature study is the activity of reading books and looking for references. The goal is for researchers to understand a topic or research theme. The structural theories are one of the other theories in the research of modern linguistics. He defined language as the spoken one, and that its acquisition by adding exercises, reinforcement, and so on is one of the most important principles in this theory. Hence, we knew that the structural theory had tried to focus the teaching of the language on the teaching of the spoken language, and by basing the teaching of grammar on it, it was hoped that the teaching of grammar seemed effective and important in the hearts of students.

Abstract:
This study investigates discourse markers (DMs) development and diversity in accordance with the Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) approach employed in online news articles. 867 football news articles were downloaded from Al-Jazeera.net to analyse the use of discourse markers (DMs) based on previous studies along with Modern Standard Arabic grammar books as well as the theories of Fraser (2005) and Al-Khawaldeh (2014). Both data coding and analysis were completed manually. The results showed that in linking textual fragments, discourse markers under the Additive category are the most frequently used within all the articles. In fact, the study also found that DM wa was most frequently used in articles compared to other discourse markers. For each category, the researcher discovered a set of new discourse markers that were not considered in previous works. The manual coding process has also led to the discovery of a new category – Affirmative, with a comprehensive list of discourse markers. It is hoped that this study can function as an important reference for researchers who are interested to delve deeper into the area.
