Abstract Existing studies focus on the effectiveness of vague language (VL). This study offers a balanced account by highlighting the ineffectiveness of VL. Drawn from institutional data involving the interactions between Australian custom officers and passengers, this study finds that while VL was effective in most cases, it was challenged in 8 % of cases. The data reveals a correlation: the more severe a situation is, the more VL is challenged. Officers performed the most VL challenging when carrying out their institutional duties, and passengers challenged VL to clarify information. Half of

Usability is one of the most important characteristics of software applications, especially when it comes to mobile shopping applications. There is a great deal of shift from traditional shopping to online shopping because it benefits both parties i.e., customers as well as businessmen. In such a scenario, the usability factor can play a very vital role in the business industry. If a client stops using a mobile shopping app because it is not user-friendly, it can badly damage the annual revenues especially when hundreds of alternatives are available and there is tough competition. Therefore, t

The authors investigate the effects of explicit comparisons in differentiating innovations that offer new functionalities to the consumer. Although marketing communications commonly employ explicit comparisons in launching new product functionalities, the authors suggest that such comparisons are not always helpful. The authors show that an explicit comparison of a new functionality with an existing functionality is effective only when the new functionality is offered in a device or physical product that is atypical of the existing functionality. However, when the new functionality is offered

These modifications are called hardware Trojan (HT). HT is difficult to detect due to its high concealment and diversity of implementation. HT detection based on the side channel is a relatively effective detection method because it does not need to trigger the Trojan or destroy the chip. However, detection based on the side channel faces two major challenges. Firstly, the side channel detection is quite dependent on the go

Recently, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been employed as a potent tool for MR because of their ability to minimize the feature’s susceptibility to its surroundings and reduce the need for human feature extraction and evaluation. In particular, these investigations rely on the unrealistic assumption that the channel coefficient is typically one. This motivates us to overcome the previous constraint by providing a novel MR suited to fading wireless channels. This paper proposes a nov
