Syfte med uppsatsen var att redogöra för hur individer som vuxit upp i familjer där en förälder missbrukat och/eller varit psykisk sjuk, beskriver sig själva i då och nutid, hemförhållanden och uppväxtförhållanden samt deras överlevnadsstrategier. Uppsatsen är av kvalitativ karaktär och utgörs av en innehållsanalys av tre biografier inom detta område. Genom att läsa tre biografier som belyser denna problematik samt med KASAM begreppen begriplighet, hanterbarhet, meningsfullhet och den dramaturgiska teorin har uppsatsen kunnat svara på frågeställningarna om hur individerna begriper sin barndom,

Utifrån feministisk litteratur- och bio­grafi­forsk­ning av Gunilla Domellöf och Lisbeth Larsson diskuteras att och hur perso­nen Boye och biografiska läsningar av hennes skönlitterära produk­tion fort­farande int­resserar. Abstract The present dissertation analyzes the role of the fairy tale in the literary works of the Czech author Ota Pavel. Ota Pavel (1930–1973) started as a sports reporter and later became a popular and esteemed writer of fiction, mainly short stories. His works have been translated to many languages, among them Swedish. The study consists of a biographical reading of Ota Pavel’s texts and a discussion of the function of the fairy tale in his stories. My analysis of his literary development and use of various prose elements is based on narratological theories of the fairy tale – Karel Čapek
