A presence of microscopic fungi, heterotrophic bacteria, as well as neutrophilic and acidophilic chemolitotrophic bacteria was determined in coal microbiocenosis. The largest and most active towards pyrite sulfur removal is the Acidithiobacillus genus. Heterotrophic bacteria have the biggest potential when it comes to removal of organic sulfur. Preceding treatment of coal with “silicate” bacteria from the Bacillus genus will allow to use coal microbiocenosis for its biodesulfurisation at its full potential.

An analytical review of the biotechnological process of production of various hard and semi-hard cheeses in the EU and Ukraine, as well as domestic recipes of fermented cheeses for production at craft cheese factories and at home, was conducted. An analysis of the conditions of the key stages of production, including fermentation, coagulation and ripening, was carried out. The composition and type of lactic acid bacteria in sourdough for fermented cheeses, as well as enzymes for fermentolysis and coagulation of milk casein, were studied. As a result of a complex study, a total of 73 types of h

The aim of research is to study the effect of introducing the selenium-containing additive Sel-Plex into the diet of dairy mares on the quality indicators of mare's milk as a raw material for the production of food products based on it. Objectives: to introduce a selenium-containing supplement into the horses’ diet; to determine the physicochemical quality indicators of mare’s milk; to determine the selenium content in the milk samples being studied, and the microelement and vitamin composition of the modified milk. The object of the study is mare's milk from dairy mares of the Bashkir breed.

Humankind gives a new meaning to the importance of preserving the environment for future generations, which has intensified the issue of minimizing the consumption of fossil fuels. One of the ways to solve this problem lies in the plane of bioeconomic science, which is intended to promote the idea of production of food and non-food products based on renewable biological resources. It is necessary to substantiate the theoretical conceptualization of bioeconomic content in the historical dimension to provide the possibility to develop an original opinion on the matter. “Hidden hunger” (prolonged micronutrient deficiency in human nutrition) is a global problem affecting a third of the world's population. Optimizing the nutrition of the popula tion is a priority task in many countries around the world. To solve this problem, an effective strategy can be applied – biofortification, which is the process of increasing the content of bioa vailable trace elements in agricultural crops before harvest. Microalgae biotechnologies are rapidly developing into new commercial settings. Several high value products already exist on the market, and biotechnological development is focused on genetic engineering of microalgae to open up future economic opportunities for food, fuel and pharmacological production. Colony-polymerase chain reaction (colony-PCR or cPCR) is a critical method for screening genetically transformed microalgae cells. However, the ability to rapidly screen thousands of transformants using the current colony-PCR method, becomes a very laborious and time-consuming process. Herein,

Abstract X-ray diffraction (XRD) is commonly used to analyze phase compositions of crystalline samples. Medical applications include the analysis of biotechnological materials and gall- and kidney stones, where composition can inform pathology assessment. XRD analysis methods like Rietveld refinement requires expert knowledge, and multi-phase sample analysis is especially challenging and time consuming. Largescale medical and biotechnological experiments can therefore be hindered by the need to perform analysis tasks using XRD. Here, we present preliminary results on an automated convolutional
