Abstract:
Ammonium is an important inorganic nitrogen source utilized by plants. The uptake of ammonium by plant roots involves two types of ammonium transport pathways, the high-affinity ammonium transporters (HATS) and the low-affinity ammonium transporters (LATS). Genes encoding HATS proteins have been studied well in plants while the LATS pathway is not sufficiently understood. Recently, through a transcriptional linkage to a membrane bound transcription factor, bHLHm1, a novel family of ammonium transporters, AMF1 (ammonium facilitator 1) were discovered. In order to better understand the rhodium-carbon bond, studies of rhodium acetate, Rh2(OAc)4, and a variety of functionalized benzonitriles were proposed. Diadducts of rhodium acetate with 4-nitrobenzonitrile, 4-aminobenzonitrile, 4-(dimethylamino)benzonitrile, and 3,5-dinitrobenzonitrile were successfully prepared and characterized by X-ray crystallography. Composites containing maleic anhydride-grafted PLA (PLA-g-AA/CA) exhibited noticeably superior mechanical properties due to greater compatibility between the two components. The dispersion of CA in the PLA-g-AA matrix was highly homogeneous as a result of ester formation, and the consequent creation of branched and cross-linked macromolecules, between the carboxyl gr

Commercial poly(vinylacetate) (PVAc) was used as polymer matrix, silver nanoparticles were generated by reduction of silver nitrate (AgNO3) in PVAc matrix, and a PVAc-AgNO3 metal chelate polymer (MCP) containing both the Ag(0) crystal and Ag(I) complex ions was obtained. The reaction mechanism of the MCP system, including the coordination of polymer-Ag(I) complexes, the reduction of Ag(I) ions and the hydrolysis of PVAc chains were investigated. In the first part, cellulose acetate propionate (CAP) was synthesized by using acid anhydride as an acylating agent, sulfuric acid as a catalyst and acid as a dispersion medium from natural cellulose through heterogeneous esterification. The effects of reaction temperature, reaction time and the molar ratio of propionic anhydride to acetic anhydride on esterification were investigated. The molecular weight, chemical structure, crystallization behavior and thermal properties of CAP were investigated using
