Abstract:
This study developed and evaluated the Nurse Codependency Questionnaire (NCQ) and generated initial estimates of the stability and internal consistency of responses for the questionnaire. An initial pool of 95 items, reflective of four domains of codependency, was generated from the codependency literature using a domain-referenced approach. Seven expert judges from the nursing and codependency fields calculated the content validity index (CVI) as > .80. Items were critiqued for relevance, clarity, and predicted direction of each item’s correlation with the total codependency score. A convenience sample of 547 male and female nurses from Texas was recruited from a variety of professional settings to test the NCQ. Evidence of reliability and validity was sought through the use of principal factor analysis (PFA) techniques and correlation analysis. The specific domains of “codependent caretaking” and “lack of voice” represented two of the four hypothesized domains that were supported by factor analysis. Data screening and item analysis resulted in a final sample of 24 items. Test-retest reliability was .90 and internal consistency reliability was .80 for the entire scale. Reliability estimates for the “codependent caretaking” and “lack of voice” scales were .65 and .59, respectively for test-retest; and .81 and .64, respectively for internal consistency. Known groups validity was supported by each of the factors’ ability to discriminate between binge and nonbinge eaters. The NCQ may be useful for identifying codependency within the nursing profession. Research is needed to determine the external factors that influence the overt expression of nurse codependency. Screening for nurse codependency may contribute to the health of the profession by providing a means for anticipatory guidance and early intervention.

Abstract:
Dynamism in culture and personal value orientations leave their mark on such a socio-cultural phenomenon as success. It is classified as one of those concepts, the life meaning of which is clearly understood by everyday consciousness, but its psychological essence is sometimes not obvious due to the multifaceted nature of its meanings and relationships, expressed in its semantics. It was proved that codependent relationships affect the value-semantic sphere of the codependent, the content characteristics of the value-semantic sphere of the codependent change. Among other things, ideas about one's own life, one's future may change, the image of the I and the image of the world, the idea of success, change. The study involved 167 participants - women in codependent relationships. Research methods: methodology "Research of ideas about successful professional activity" (O. Yu. Klochkova); methodology "Motivation for success and fear of failure" (A. A. Rean); methodology "Self-assessment of manifestations of fear of success" (G.V. Turetskaya); scale of measuring codependency in relationships (L. Spann-D. Fisher, adapted by V.D. Moskalenko). Statistical analysis and data processing were performed using the «Microsoft Excel 7.0» и «SPSS» (22.0). Our comparative analysis of the data made it possible to reveal that there are significant differences in the indicators of ideas about success among women with a high and normal level of codependency, and there is also a relationship between the level of codependency and ideas about success.

Abstract:
the article represents the analysis of such phenomenon as codependency. It is mentioned the lack of medical or psychological understanding of this problem. It is developed the psychoanalytic and evolution approaches in understanding the sense of codependency. Psychoanalytic approach is represented by the K. Horney’s theory and develop codependency as the way of overcoming of basic anxiety which emerges as the result of the oppression hostile impulse in relation to the close figure. Evolution approach is represented in B. and J. Weinhold’s theory and open codependency as a trauma of evolution connected with unsuccessful separation of the close figure what forms the infantile behavior and radical dependency on the others’ opinion in self-certification of man. On the base of these two approaches concludes that codependency is the common appearance, the symptom of contemporary culture which is connected with the social model of domination and inequality. The introduction in human life the models of partnership is the way of overcoming the problem of codependency. The practical conflictology is the concrete sphere of introduction and elaboration of the partnership models. In the research the co-dependency problem is concerned in two directions — in connection with clients’ specific and as the one defined by cognitive-emotional- behavioral attitudes of specialists-conflictologists. The special significance of awareness of this problem and overcoming it by mediators because of its counteraction with the basic mediation principles, first of all neutrality of a specialist is noted. The author’s investigation results conducted with the participation of mediators and consultants with different experience of work in the profession are presented. The results show widely spread codependent tendencies among practicing conflictologists especially among beginners. The connection of the syndrome of codependency and professional burning out and the problem growing along with the widening of conflictologists’ practice is shown. 5 types of specialists’ codependency dynamics in the process of gathering experience of work with clients are identified and corresponding consequences are shown. The significance of overcoming and profilaxy of codependency growth is noted and the ways of gaining the result are analyzed.

Abstract:
The article presents the results of theoretical and empirical studies of the characteristics of the main structural components of the personality of codependent mothers of drug addicts. It is shown that codependency has several components: cognitive, personal, emotional and behavioral. The article presents the results of an empirical study carried out on a sample (n = 58, 29–60 years old, codependent mothers of addictive adolescents) on the basis of the Doverie rehabilitation center in Saratov. Appropriate diagnostic tools were used: a test to determine the level of codependency (B. Winehold and J. Winehold); diagnostics of emotional intelligence (N. Hall); self-attitude test questionnaire (V. V. Stolin, S. R. Panteleev); methodology “Index of life style” (R. Plutchik, G. Kellerman, H. R. Conte); methodology “Tendency to victim behavior” (O. O. Andronnikova). Statistical data processing was carried out through correlation analysis, comparison of two independent samples (Student’s t-test). It has been established that a codependent person, trying to control someone else’s life, completely devoting himself to another person, at the same time does not even realize that he has lost control over his own life, having lost interest in his needs, development, and self-improvement. Correctional work with codependent mothers can help the parent return to his own “I”. The applied aspect of the problem under study can be implemented in the diagnostic, consultative, corrective and educational work of practicing psychologists who deal with the problem of rehabilitation of codependent parents of addictive adolescents.

Abstract:
The Holyoake Codependency Index is being developed to measure the extent to which a person endorses codependent beliefs and attributions. A 28-item pilot version was administered to 39 male and 268 female clients of a family counseling agency. Factor analysis, used to identify the shortest version with acceptable reliability, yielded a 13-item final version comprising three subscales (external focus, self-sacrifice, and reactivity). The subscales correspond to key themes within the literature on codependency. Scores on each subscale correlated significantly in the predicted direction with relevant measures of psychological functioning, providing initial evidence of construct validity. The 13-item scale was administered to a general community sample of 303 women and the factor structure was fully replicated. Internal consistency of the subscales ranged from .74 to .84 with the family counseling sample and from .73 to .83 with the general community sample.

Abstract:
Arenas where experts interact with publics are useful platforms for communication and interaction between actors in the field of public health: researchers, practitioners, clinicians, patients, and laypersons. Such coalitions are central to the analysis of knowledge coproduction. This study investigates an initiative for assembling expert and other significant knowledge which seeks to create better interventions and solutions to addiction-related problems, in this case codependency. But what and whose knowledge is communicated, and how? The study explores how processes of repetition, claim-coupling, and enthusiasm produce a community based on three boundary beliefs: (1) victimized codependent children failed by an impaired society; (2) the power of daring and sharing; and (3) the (brain) disease model as the scientific representative and explanation for (co)dependence. These processes have legitimized future hopes in certain suffering actors, certain lived and professional expertise and also excluded social scientific critique, existing interventions, and alternative accounts.

Abstract:
The article presents the adaptation process of the modified Spenn-Fisher code of co-dependence, which allows to measure the severity of co-dependency. The study was conducted on a sample of students (N=227) and cadets (N=38) of higher educational institutions. The theoretical construct of codependency as a psychosocial state, which includes an external locus of control, a tendency to suppress emotions and an increased importance of interpersonal relationships, confirmed by the data of cluster analysis. The questionnaire showed acceptable rates of both reliability-consistency and retest reliability. The constructive validity of the methodology was confirmed by significant correlations that substantiate underlying construct of codependency. The high level of codependency positively correlates with the external locus of control, the suppression of emotions, anxiety, and negatively correlates with the affective component of interpersonal relations, the benevolence of the external world and beliefs about control. The psychometric data obtained during the study are largely consistent with the results of the authors of the original scale and indicate a successful adaptation of the methodology in the Russian sample.

Abstract:
Codependency is a highly contested construct featuring in the popular, clinical and research literature. Within the academic literature, the voices and lived experience of individuals who consider themselves codependents are mostly unavailable. This Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) study explored the lived experiences of 8 individuals self-identified as codependents, who chose 12-Step recovery groups to frame their recovery process. This research addressed the following research question: What is the lived experience of codependency among people who have sought support from a 12-step recovery group for codependents? The idiographic, phenomenological and hermeneutic aspects of the study captured how participants made sense of their experiences of codependency and the meanings of the support group. The information was collected over 3-6 months by means of three in-depth semi-structured interviews and a visual method in which participants selected and analysed objects or photographs which, for them, expressed the meaning of codependency. Four main themes emerged from the analysis of the interviews: (1) Codependency experienced as real and tangible: ‘Codependency explains everything’. (2) Experiencing an undefined sense of self: ‘Codependency helps me to discover my sense of self.’ (3) Seesawing through extremes in life: ‘Like a seesaw, I feel out of control’. (4) Finding meaning in codependency through exploring family experiences: ‘Down to childhood’. The findings revealed that the experience of codependency frames these individuals’ sense of identity, their lifeworlds and the way they view and experience life difficulties. It also provided a highly nuanced and fine-grained analysis of the lived experience of codependency. The study brings a new perspective on the lived experiences of this client group. Although the findings are not straightforwardly generalizable, they may inform clinical practice. It is hoped that this study will raise awareness about this controversial topic, bring a better understanding of codependency and inspire further research.

Abstract:
碩士<br>國立臺灣藝術大學<br>戲劇學系<br>106<br>Sarah Kane passed away at only 28 years old but in recent years, frequent staging of her work has inspired new discussion of the playwright. Kane wrote five plays in her life. The third, Cleansed, is closely related to catharsis, an idea which this author previously studied in depth. After careful consideration of both internal and external psychological development, the researcher decided to use codependency as a means to understand the troubled relationships between each character. Codependency is a newly discovered mental illness that results from unhealthy relationships. It is not only patients but also their caregivers who must seek treatment as both may show symptoms of an unhealthy relationship. Co-dependency is very apparent in Cleansed where confusing relationships between the abused and their abusers result from a universal desire to be loved. The researcher hopes co-dependency will allow for better understanding of the logic behind each character’s self-reliance. It may also shed light on the nuances behind Kane’s character development and the central themes behind Cleansed.

Abstract:
This dissertation is a collection of essays on challenges in international trade and international finance, which apply econometric methods to diverse data sets and relate them to economic policy questions. In times of crises, the question, whether individual countries have the ability to pursue idiosyncratic monetary policy, is important. The degree of integration and comovement between financial markets, for instance, is critical to better assess the real threat facing a country in a crisis. Also, from a macroeconomic modeling perspective, there has recently been a renewed interest in the cyclical and long-run comovement of interest rates. Hence, in a first essay, we reinvestigate the long- and short-run comovements in the G7-countries by conducting tests for cointegration, common serial correlation and codependence with nominal and real interest rates. Overall, we only find little evidence of comovements: common trends are occasionally observed, but the majority of interest rates are not cointegrated. Although some evidence for codependence of higher order can be found in the pre-Euro area sample, common cycles appear to exist only in rare cases. We argue that some earlier, more positive findings in the literature are difficult to reconcile due to differing assumptions about the underlying stochastic properties of interest rates. Hence, we conclude that they cannot be generalized for all interest rates, time periods, and reasonable alternative estimation procedures. This finding indicates that scope for individual countries to pursue stabilization policy does still exist in a globalized world. Emerging economies, in general, are much more exposed and vulnerable to crises than industrialized countries. Accordingly, stabilization policy is especially important in these countries and the selection of the best monetary regime is essential. This is why, in a second essay, we contrast two different views in the debate on official dollarization: the Mundell (1961) framework of optimum currency areas and a model on boom-bust cycles by Schneider and Tornell (2004), who take account of credit market imperfections prevalent in middle income countries. We highlight the strikingly different role of the exchange rate in the two models. While in the Mundell framework the exchange rate is expected to smooth the business cycle, the second model predicts the exchange rate to play an amplifying role. We empirically evaluate both models for eight highly dollarized Central American economies. We document the existence of credit market imperfections and find that shocks from the exchange rate indeed amplify business cycles in these countries. Using a new method proposed by Cubadda (1999 and 2007), we furthermore test for cyclical comovement and reject the hypothesis that the selected countries form an optimum currency area with the United States according to the Mundell definition. In the context of the recent global crisis, globalization and vertical integration in particular were often blamed for being the cause for the severe trade crisis. For that reason, in the essay that contributes to the trade literature, we analyze the role of international supply chains in explaining the long-run trade elasticity and its short-term volatility in the context of the recent trade collapse. We adopt an empirical strategy based on two steps: first, stylized facts on long- and short-term trade elasticity are derived from exploratory analysis and formal modeling on a large and diversified sample of countries. Then, we derive observations of interrelated input-output matrices for a demonstrative sub-set of countries. We find evidence for two supply chain related factors to explain the overshooting of trade elasticity during the 2008-2009 trade collapse: the composition and the bullwhip effect. However, evidence for a magnification effect could not be found. Overall, we do not accept the hypothesis that international supply chains explain all by themselves the changes in trade-income elasticity.

Abstract:
This chapter asserts that the Prison Radio Association (PRA) experience illustrates the problematic relationship between mainstream media and prison practice. It uses the PRA position to examine the interplay between media and public opinion, and the resulting impact on criminal justice policy and practice. The issues are then explored more fully through the analysis of three contemporary newspaper stories which PRA founders identify as impacting on the organisation's early approach to managing outside media attention. The examples from the Guardian, the Daily Mail, and The Sun newspapers illustrate the codependent relationship between mass media coverage, populist politics, and perceived public opinion when it comes to the issue of crime and punishment.

Abstract:
The analysis involved in reconstructing a traffic crash often deals with multiple, codependent, stochastic variables such as departure angle measurements, coefficient of friction measurements, vehicle stiffness coefficients, and acceleration rates. The resulting analysis should appropriately lead to a range of possible vehicle speeds rather than a single speed output value. All too often, this speed range is reported as a continuous uniform distribution in which lower- and upper-bound values are just as probable as any value in between. In reality, vehicle speed ranges are more complex than can properly be represented by a range of equally-probable values. By using repeated iterations drawing on pseudo-random number generation algorithms, Monte Carlo methods have long held the key to performing such statistical analyses. Monte Carlo methods allow for the output of values that are, in most cases, normally distributed and can be used to approximate the probability density function associated with the particular output variable. While Monte Carlo analysis in traffic accident reconstruction has been addressed in a number of other papers, the issue of dealing with codependent variables and the propagation of variable values across multiple calculations has been less apparent in the literature. Understanding not only the application of Monte Carlo methods to multi-variable problems but also the codependent nature of the output distributions and the appropriate selection of input values is essential to the successful application of Monte Carlo algorithms. This paper will address the appropriate methods for implementing multi-variable Monte Carlo solutions for traffic accident reconstruction problems and provide a practical platform for developing algorithms using the Python programming language. Appropriate selection of input values and the use of pseudo-random number generators will be addressed, along with methods for handling the propagation of values through the course of multiple, codependent calculations. While this paper focuses on the implementation of algorithms using Python, these methods can just as readily by implemented using MATLAB, C/C++, FORTRAN, or a variety of other capable programming languages.

Abstract:
The relevance of the study of personal resources is related to the importance of knowledge about the factors that determine a person’s mental health despite living conditions. The research aim was to study the emotional intelligence as a coping resource of codependent women. Sample: 19 women aged 32 to 47 years who are in a close relationship with a chemically dependent person. All women are clients of groups that help relatives of dependent people in Kostroma. Methods: The Mayer — Salovey — Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test 1998 (MSCEIT v. 2.0), adaptation in Russian (Sergienko &amp; Vetrova, 2010); Co-Dependency Assessment Inventory (Weinhold &amp; Weinhold, 2008); Ways of Coping Questionnaire, Folkman &amp; Lazarus, 1988, adaptation in Russian (Kryukova, 2010); Projective technique «Man in the rain» by E. V. Romanova, T. I. Sytko (1992). The results indicate a lower development of emotional intelligence, the ability to understand emotions and consciously manage them, and features of the emotional sphere were found: feelings of insecurity, emotional coldness, impulsiveness and infantile. 47 % of women cope with the situation of dependence of a loved one unconstructively and are prone to excessive self-control, search for social support, and strive to solve the problem in any way. This does not allow you to cope with the dependence of a loved one and with your own codependent state. Regression analysis shows a fairly positive impact on coping behavior of the ability to understand and analyze emotions, use them in solving problems, consciously manage them, and predict their emotional States in the future. On the one hand, distance from the situation is reduced, on the other hand, emotional intelligence creates conditions for confrontation with the dependent behavior of a loved one and for a positive reevaluation of the situation in the context of strengthening one’s own personality. These results allow us to speak about the resource role of emotional intelligence in the situation of codependent relationships.
