In this thesis, we investigate the nonlinear optical properties of four different physical systems: tellurite glasses, castor oil, ionic liquids and colloids of gold nanoparticles. In THz-TDS the electric field is measured, therefore both amplitude and phase information of the THz pulse can be obtained.
