Abstract:
Fluoroquinolones represent an interesting synthetic class of antimicrobial agents with broad spectrum and potent activity. Since the discovery of nalidixic acid, the prototype of quinolones, several structural modifications to the quinolone nucleus have been carried out for improvement of potency, spectrum of activity, and to understand their structure activity relationship (SAR). The C-7 substituent was reported to have a major impact on the activity. Accordingly, Substitution at C-7 or its N-4-piperazinyl moiety was found to affect potency, bioavailability, and physicochemical properties. Also, it can increase the affinity towards mammalian topoisomerases that may shift quinolones from antibacterial to anticancer candidates. Moreover, the presence of DNA topoisomerases in both eukaryotic and prokaryotic cells makes them excellent targets for chemotherapeutic intervention in antibacterial and anticancer therapies. Based on this concept, several fluoroquionolones derivatives have been synthesized and biologically evaluated as antibacterial, antituberculosis, antiproliferative, antiviral and antifungal agents. This review is an attempt to focus on the therapeutic prospects of fluoroquinolones with an updated account on their atypical applications such as antitubercular and anticancer activities.

Abstract:
Goa's pharmaceutical sector, a significant contributor to India's drug supply and exports, is currently navigating a complex landscape of opportunities and threats. This study, employing a mixed-methods approach, reveals a sector that has evolved from generic manufacturing post-liberation to a hub of innovation and consolidation, leveraging its strategic location, skilled workforce, and robust industry-academia connections. However, the sector faces substantial challenges, including stringent regulatory compliance costs, intense competition from domestic and international players, price controls, supply chain vulnerabilities due to import dependence, environmental concerns demanding sustainable practices, a critical skill gap, and the imperative for digital transformation to remain competitive. Aligning with government initiatives like "Make in India" offers growth potential, but addressing these multifaceted challenges is crucial for long-term sustainability. The future of Goa's pharmaceutical industry hinges on a collaborative effort between industry, government, and academia to foster innovation, attract investment, and ensure adherence to international standards, thereby solidifying its position as a key player in the global pharmaceutical market.

Abstract:
Abstract Purpose of Review The world-wide demand for agricultural products is rapidly growing. However, despite the growing population, labor shortage becomes a limiting factor for agricultural production. Further automation of agriculture is an important solution to tackle these challenges. Recent Findings Selective harvesting of high-value crops, such as apples, tomatoes, and broccoli, is currently mainly performed by humans, rendering it one of the most labor-intensive and expensive agricultural tasks. This explains the large interest in the development of selective harvesting robots. Selective harvesting, however, is a challenging task for a robot, due to the high levels of variation and incomplete information, as well as safety. Summary This review paper provides an overview of the state of the art in selective harvesting robotics in three different production systems; greenhouse, orchard, and open field. The limitations of current systems are discussed, and future research directions are proposed.

Full text
Abstract:
Background: Immunotherapy represents a revolutionary approach in cancer treatment, where it leverages the body’s immune system to target and destroy malignant cells. In ophthalmic oncology, immunotherapeutic agents offer potential for managing traditionally challenging ocular malignancies, such as melanoma and retinoblastoma. In this literature review, we aim to provide a comprehensive and up-to-date review of all current research and trends in this field. Methods: This literature reviews data from recent clinical trials, peer-reviewed articles, and meta-analyses focused on immunotherapeutic interventions for eye-related cancers. Emphasis is placed on the types of immunotherapies being tested, including checkpoint inhibitors, vaccine therapies, and adoptive cell transfer therapies. Results: Recent advancements indicate a growing and significant improvement in survival rates and tumor reduction with minimal adverse effects. Clinical trials focusing on melanoma show significant promise with targeted therapies, while early-stage investigations into retinoblastoma and conjunctival melanoma explore innovative approaches to harness the immune system without harming visual function. Conclusions: Immunotherapy in ophthalmic oncology is evolving rapidly and has demonstrated a remarkable potential as a primary treatment strategy. Although results from various clinical trials are promising, further research is needed to refine these therapies, minimize side effects, and improve overall patient outcomes. The future directions involve more comprehensive clinical trials that integrate immunotherapy with existing treatment modalities to establish more robust treatment protocols.

Abstract:
A variety of technologies are included in renewable energy systems, which are intended to capture energy from renewable natural resources including sunlight, wind, water, and geothermal heat. These systems are not the same as fossil fuels, which have a limited supply and greatly exacerbate environmental degradation and climate change. Global initiatives to lessen the effects of climate change, cut greenhouse gas emissions, and achieve sustainable development must include the transition to renewable energy. It is crucial to define important words in the topic of renewable energy systems in order to comprehend it. Energy produced by constantly replenishing natural processes is referred to as renewable energy. This covers energy from biomass, geothermal, hydropower, wind, and solar sources. Photovoltaic cells or solar thermal collectors are used in solar power to extract energy from the sun. Using wind turbines, wind power transforms the kinetic energy of the wind into electrical energy. The energy of flowing water is harnessed to create electricity using hydropower. While geothermal energy uses heat from the Earth's core, biomass energy is created from organic materials.

Abstract:
Since the 1960s when the first aortic surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) was performed, continuous growth in the field of valvular technology has occurred. Although SAVR remains a lifesaving procedure, minimally invasive transcatheter aortic valve replacement has revolutionized and expanded aortic valve replacement to patients who were not previously SAVR candidates, increasing their quality of life and survival. Since its introduction in the United States in 2011, the technology and practice have rapidly expanded. Hybrid techniques have been developed that combine surgical access to the vasculature with valvular deployment over transcatheter systems. This literature review aims to describe the differences between the current available valve technologies, review approaches to surgical technique, discuss anesthetic considerations, and look forward to future directions, trends, and challenges.
