Full textPhilosophy is not a clearly bounded and closed field. All philosophical questions point towards an elsewhere, an unknown land that remains to be discovered and where no one has yet set foot. More than any other question, the question of the “self” upsets attempts to integrate all answers in a rigorously defined and closed space. As Bergson clearly emphasised, it is only possible to master intellectually that which is inert and static, and only what has already taken place can be explained. Now, if it is outside the self that the inert and the static are to be found, it is precisely because the self appears and arises in the world as a process of uprooting and going beyond all that is. Because it is not just an objective correlative and because it cannot ignore what it owes to a primary uprooting, the self constitutes, as a consequence, the ultimate problem of philosophy. The solution to the problem of the self would be to reveal or establish in the world an order of things sufficiently admirable as to allow it to do away with the feeling of being superfluous. There would therefore be at least two ways of approaching the question of “becoming oneself” : either by moving towards a pacification through accepting an order, or conversely by insisting on the idea of a split and an irreversible exile. However the ambiguity of the question is due to the impossibility of getting rid of one of the two competing viewpoints. If there has been a split, it is from an initial unity ; one has begun then with acceptance. But if the question arises of knowing what we are going to do with ourselves, it is because we have become uprooted from our selves. The uprooting of the self refers to the state of inadequacy and splitting of the self. Nevertheless experience shows that this state, which engenders the desire to rely on oneself alone, is most frequently concealed by the self. Social pressure, imitation, habit, the search for happiness overcome this desire. We aspire to become ourselves, but choose not to take the risk ; we follow in the footsteps of our forebears; we act out the roles that are expected of us.The question of “becoming one’self” only imposes itself so starkly in those who are haunted by the memory of a split that they interpret as a “self transforming primary experience”. Rather than going with the flow of things, this split goads them to react and try to set their own course. Beyond the “dynamics of life”; there is another : the “dynamics of existence”, which depends on individual responsibility. On can only become oneself through taking the risk of plunging into the latter, that is by striving to be the cause of oneself. To do so, it is necessary to withdraw. But withdrawing doesn’t mean losing oneself. The will to wander, which drives the self that wishes to forge itself, is not suicidal. The self is thereby faced with two major difficulties. On the intellectual level, it must remain “readable”; in other words, even if what it undertakes is not accessible to everyone, the figure that it draws must nevertheless make sense and be able to entice others. On the moral level, it must withstand the common opinion that the individual be understood as a “part” and not as a “separate person”.The project of trying to “become oneself” expresses the ambiguity of the sudden irruption of human subjectivity into the world. It is as much a question of exposing oneself to Otherness in all its forms as of vanquishing and subduing it. Its aim has no pragmatic goal. That the human race finds itself strengthened or better prepared to face future challenges is not what is essential. Always different, each new attempt embodies a figure which, like a star, shines simply in the silence of the night

Full textZheng, Li. "Improving performance measurement of engineering projects : methods to develop indicators." Thesis, Toulouse, INSA, 2018. http://www.theses.fr/2018ISAT0006.
Full textPerformance measurement is essential to ensure the success of a project. To this goal, companies need to determine a system of performance measures, classically including cost and schedule measures, which provide the project manager with the project health status and help her or him to evaluate the project successes and failures. However, with the increasing complexity of projects and the absolute necessity to reach the project objectives, project managers cannot only rely on such information about cost and schedule to evaluate the project performance; they need to consider, for instance, other indicators such as the satisfaction of customer requirements, the technology maturity, etc. Moreover, they need to have a precise evaluation of these indicators values while the project is in progress, in order to monitor it at best so that it reaches its goals, and not only after the project ends, to only conclude on the project success or failure without any mean to react. Considering these two issues, the objectives of the thesis thus are to extend the number, scope and type of current project performance indicators with a proposal of complementary indicators, and to propose a method for designing project-specific indicators, in order to improve project performance measurement. To define supplementary indicators and elaborate such a method, we proceed by integrating good measurement practices from different engineering disciplines and illustrate our proposal on use cases. The thesis first introduces the notion of performance and characterizes performance measurement systems (PMSs); such systems offer a wide panel of models for organizational performance measurement. Focusing on PMSs, we provide some insights for project performance measurement. More precisely, we identify several issues highlighted in literature, relative to the limitations of current project performance measurement such as the need to balance lagging indicators (to control) with leading indicators (to monitor), and the need to construct performance indicators that are relevant to project-specific information needs. We then focus on project performance measurement and reviews literature in this domain. It highlights the issue of the unbalanced use of leading and lagging indicators. To bring a solution to the issue, we review literature of performance measurement in engineering disciplines, with a focus on systems engineering practices, especially a panel of 18 generic leading indicators that are currently engineered in guidance. A method has been proposed to adapt the set of systems engineering leading indicators to project management, thus resulting in developing the set of indicators to measure project performance. Moreover, focusing on standards and guides on measurement in systems and software engineering led us to identify other issues in project performance measurement, such as the difficulties to define indicators dynamically for a project, and how to collect and combine data in order to construct these indicators. We finally consider the methodological difficulties about designing relevant performance indicators. More precisely, we identify 3 issues: different opinions among researchers about the sources from where the indicators will be derived; the problem in relation to the transformation from data to indicators; and the association of data collection, analysis and report with project management processes. To solve these issues, we analyze good practices from the Practical Software and Systems Measurement, the ISO/IEC 15939 norm and the Project Management Body of Knowledge that proved to be able to address the identified issues respectively. This work results in a method integrating these practices to address the 3 identified issues in project performance measurement. The method is illustrated on a real project context. Evaluation of the method has been conducted in workshop of project managers, which confirmed the interest for the proposal

Cilaos, Mafate and Salazie are the cirques of the island and reflect the originality and promote an appealing image of Reunion Island. Conciliation proceedings between economic development and environmental protection are at the heart of the reflexion. Having dealt with the touristification stage of the cirques which structured the spaces and needed to be developed, the study is focusing upon the touristic practices, its representations and its tourism stakeholders. Actually, as the cirques became one territory, they should have played a key role for Reunion Island destination. In regard to territorial prospective, the research reveals the governance issues and challenges according the implementation of a sustainable tourism project
Allen, Barbara. Paris 7, 1997. http://www.theses.fr/1997PA070119.
Full textThis thesis aims at clarifying the relationship between autonomy and transmission between 3 generations. This relationship is being analysed with regard to one specific society, that of kibbutz, and with the origin and the outcome of the social project from which it proceeds. The transmission between generations lies within the wider scope of genealogy, i. E. The succession of generations over time, which originates in and is part of some anteriority, that of judaism. The social project conducted by founders has lost the meaning which it embodied originally, but it seems omnipresent in terms of heavy heritage. The second generation could neither oppose, nor change the project, or even develop a project likely to mean something to her. The original project resulted from of a critical process and carried the ambition to transform society radically. Then, how could it produce a world rather similar to hereronomy? explorating the content and the means of transmission from one generation to the other in relationship with an analysis of the religious philosophy of judaism, led us to question the traditional opposition between continuity and discontinuity, between heteronomy and autonomy. Rejecting heteronomy could never result in autonomy. If autonomy does not originate in the elaboration of heteronomy, then what seemed to be autonomy would turn into total heteronomy. Therefore, autonomy could be built up as a result of the confrontation between heteronomous worlds or worlds felt as being heteronomous. The wide variety of media would induce some differences giving rise to debates, conflicts, elaboration and transformation. Hence the importance attached to the past and to its status as a place for and a means of enriching heteronomous worlds. The past's ability to propose mediations and a means of backing up a developing connection with the future, and therefore possible steps towards autonomy, proved to be a determining factor

There are three different ways leading to music professions : "talent", legacy or plan of the parents, which are the fruits of an education based on a corporatist system. They are analysed according to two logics of action : one concerning the reproduction and the other concerning the plan of the family, Euterpe, Orpheus, Heracles and Achilles : these four types allow to give a description and a classification of the most common cases. In this thesis we analyze the elements that involve the theory of social justice in Rawls, covering the three main works of the author - Theory of Justice, Political Liberalism and The Law of Peoples - with the aim of identifying, from the beginning, a social ideal social ideal), with a view to a full conception of justice. As a basis for the development of the research, the fundamental elements - basic structure and just social institutions, principles of justice and the idea of cooperation - that guide the conception of justice in Rawls, first for national societies and later in defense of a Peoples' Society. We have shown that throughout Rawlsian theory, implicitly or explicitly, both in national societies and in the Peoples' Society, a social ideal has always been present as a project for a full conception of justice. However, we note that The Law of Peoples's proposed social justice system faced even greater challenges because of pluralism and the need to architect a parallel process of justice (national and international). In the thesis, we argue that the social ideal that permeated the discussions at the national level was extended to the Peoples' Society as a way of promoting justice among peoples and bringing together societies that are in an unfavorable (burdened) situation. The Duty of Assistance, a principle built to govern relations between peoples, is the new element introduced by Rawls to guarantee and make feasible his social ideal within the framework of international society. We consider that this social ideal is anchored in the notion of basic structure and in the benefit of social cooperation, fundamental ideas of Rawlsian thought since A Theory. We argue that the idea of assistance among peoples does not pretend to be a global distributive justice project based on the principle of difference for national societies, but that the Duty of Assistance is the expression of the Rawlsian social ideal, now extended to Society of Peoples.

Full textEco-villages are considered models of intentional communities or sustainable communities and have been incorporated by the United Nations in the Sustainable Communities Development Programme (SCDP) as a human scale settlement. They are characterized by human activities being integrated in a non-damaging way into the natural world in such a way as to give support to healthy human development so as to be able to continue indefinitely into the future. This text assesses the extent to which a project to create the Eco-village for Simple Living in Itamonte - Minas Gerais' is successful, based on the concepts of sustainability and local development succeeds, by examining the indicators and attributes that are able to be measured in the planning phase, describing the stages and discussions of the project, as well as assessing the members 'perception of 'the concepts of the Eco-village', 'sustainability' and 'local development'. Subsequent analysis of the degree of sustainability (ecological, social, economic, spacial and cultural / spiritual) and local development, based on the social economy, demonstrated the presence of a number of aspects used to support, guide, discuss, plan and implement actions in the creation of the Eco-village being studied. This work could be used as a guide to Eco-villages during the planning phase, indicating the importance of the concepts studied, especially for some communities which are self-proclaimed 'Eco-villages' but which in fact do not show even the slightest structural aspects which would describe them as such, like solidarity in the relations between participants, or construction oriented with a view to the precepts of environmental preservation. '

Full textThis present thesis discusses the formation of the orientation project of young high school students in Lebanon, and its future for the Lebanese adults expatriates in Paris. Our primary question is how the orientation project has evolved from the young age into adulthood? Two surveys has been conducted. The first relates to the representations done by the young high school seniors, concerning the influence of social learning on the elaboration of their orientation project. The social learning takes place in two social contexts: the family and the school. This learning is divided into two types: the first is instrumental, that includes the mastering of a scholar subject and the practice of a cultural activity. The second is associative, composed of the imitation of a professional and the identification of a prestigious profession. This is a quantitative survey which allow us to show the representations of the young students according to their belonging to one or the other social groups, such as gender, types of school public/private, the followed branch scientific/literature, the socio-professional origin and the level of success. The second survey is qualitative, it concerns a sample of twelve Lebanese adult expatriates in Paris that were old senior high school students in Lebanon, it is a complimentary survey to the first one. This second surveys’ objective is to provide, from the evocation of the adults surveyed, a meaning to the process of formation and evolution with the advancing age. The data analysis of the survey was approached through a thematic analysis which determine the themes of analysis in relation with the hypothesis concerning the second survey. A singular vertical analysis is preliminary to a second horizontal analysis, which allow us to cross-reading the entire interviews conducted with the adults surveyed

The present research aims to analyze the pratical of psychologists of Social Assistance Centers (CRAS) in its implication with the subjectivity as a dimension of action in the Social Security Politics. The qualitative study was developed from the perspective of the Critical Social Psychology Theory, with a historical dialectical materialist basis. In order to accomplish our objective, three psychologists had been interviewed (half-directed interview). They worked at the public, municipal service, servers of the CRAS for, at least, six months. From the stories produced with the interviews, units of sense had been raised. Hence, those units were collated having as reference the norms of Social Security and the principles of Critical Social Psychology. This was done in dialog with others researches of NEXIN that were about similar themes. In this process it is evident the importance attributed to the practical knowledge developed by the Social Service, the daily attendance to the demands of the population, the importance of the group as privileged unit of work and the purpose attributed for the psychologist for its practical professional in this social-occupational space. The results point the character of process in the construction of a proper place of Psychology in the Social Assistance, and demonstrate the political difficulties joined during the formation and organization of the work of accomplishing the objectives of the basic social protection. This construction is crossed by the contradictions that determine the Social Assistance as an area of public politic, understood in the movement of the production and reproduction of the social life, and of the historical constitution of Psychology as an area of knowledge and practical professional

Full textTourism and changes in rural areas. Using this link as a mater of analysis, this research offers a new and revival reading of the spacial stakes linked to this economic and social phenomenum which questions at the same time rural life, its place in the society and a new qualification of this area. From a scientific point of view consacrated to rural life, one has little questioned yet on capacity that rural societies have to make their patterns of development grow, creating then collective actions in tourism areas. In a context of devolution and public politics territorialisation, this thesis offers an analysis of the ways of organisations and structuring of competences of actors around what is called Pays projects. Who does invest and give oneself the means of interfering in the ways of constructions and negociations in territorial resources? What part and place do local actors give to touristic activity in their territorial projects? Considering three Pays in South Western France, we will point out the capacity of mobilisation of local actors around touristic projects, specific means and actions which struture them along with the networks that underline them, we will offer in the end elements of interpretation of touristic function in the process of territorial development in rural areas

Full textThis dissertation proposes to contribute to the study of literary criticism of Deleuze, by examining at the same time Deleuze’s philosophical works, in order to demonstrate the autonomy of his literary criticism between philosophy and literature. This shows the double ambition of his literary criticism: the reading of literary works as philosophical exploration, and the metaphysical reflection incorporated in the study of the text. To show at the same time the evolution of his literary criticism and the dialogues that Deleuze engaged with literary critics and philosophers, this dissertation adopts the point of view of Deleuze in his criticisms, that is to say, to find a project of his literary criticism. The analysis of this project is guided by the Deleuzian conceptualization that has continued to be renewed, ranging from the question of genesis to that of finality and autonomy. In the argumentation of each part, this dissertation adopts comparative methods: a comparison within Deleuze’s works to demonstrate the shift of his critical horizon, a comparison with other literary critics to value his critical approaches, and a synchronic dialogue with other philosophers to contextualize its conceptualizations. Deleuze’s literary criticism, studied in his thematic genealogy, gives a place in which the relationship between literature and philosophy remains no longer at the conceptual or interpretative level, but in a reciprocal exploration, always problematised by his literary criticism

The subject of this thesis in Education Science is part of a qualitative interpretive and comprehensive survey with phenomenological sensitivity, and focuses on the training path towards the professional insertion of young peoplewith disabilities. It proposes, from their stories, to understand the personal subjective meaning that each one can give to his/her path and his own life, to understand how these young people develop their vocational guidance project, how they can become the authors of their training and of their insertion through the experience of disability, for some of them with physical impairments. The chosen approach was to give priority to the narrative feature with an opening to otherness, a sensitive listening to the fragments of course delivered by these young people, and an analysis in a multi-referentiality bringing intelligibility to this research topic and emerging phenomena. A first analysis-synthesis work for each of the portraits with a reading based on key notions such as subject-actor, psychological empowerment, events, bifurcations and biographical transitions, gives prospects of generalization in the form of pathways typologies

225 e art.

The Brazilian education, founded by the logic submission of the educational project from the Jesuits, and the influences from the French, English and Americans, passed on to be considered a national problem with the proclamation of the republic in 1980. The attempt to regulate and to consolidate the social function propaedeutics, which denies the work, the industrialization who demanded the instrumental education for work and the reestablishment of the democracy in the state which reorganized the flexible production and impose the formation of a new type of worker (KUENZER, 1998) presents contradictories movements. In agreement with transformation the scientific technical conception of organization adopted participative democratic mechanism. Recognizing the contradiction in keeping distinct types of logic and the tendency of the liberal logic over the social logic, the challenger of the work management is to reverse this premise. As an alternative to the educational middle class project, the polytechnic education proposes to overcome the dual structure and history by omni lateral formation (SAVIANI, 2003). The elementary and middle school should be guided by the work as an excellent base for education (PISTRAK, 2005). The school, known as the work product of man, should be linked to school life as a social transformation combined with school education with material production and to promote self and social emancipation. In context, the general objective is to analyze the experience of reorganizing the educational work in creation of the politic pedagogic project of middle school, identifying perspectives, limits, possibilities, and resistances. The specifics objectives are to examine the evolution of the educational project in the social politic and economic history of Brazil, highlighting the management of school work and the formation of the young for work; analyze fundamentals, intentions and practices which guide the politic pedagogic project and identify and analyze the limits, possibilities and ways of group resistances in the management project. We choose as a theoretical methodological referential the Critic Theory and the method with materialistic history base. As instruments of qualitative and quantitative data collection we applied questionnaires, semi-structures interviews and focal groups. Among hypothesis should public school follow the educational project of middle class or should it follow the lines of vocational extent, instrumental; to attend to middle class project of the popular sector? The hard format of school has accomplished changes in the lines of directions? The politic pedagogic project working at Liceu do Maracanaú establish four pillars which reorganize the work in the school bearing in mind the full formation of the young. This school thinks, conceives and evaluates opposition to the others schools; it breaks with the traditional format of the work organization. The multiples intelligences are understood as principles, the project of work is the means to transformation of popular knowledge to the scientific knowledge with practice and social application of ideas in development of competencies and abilities, as means an half-yearly organizational and the evaluation as the learning observation. Scientific initiation in middle level education attends the interests of the school, highlighting the talents, improving the indicators and presenting results. This project is contradictory because the fundamentals and practice pedagogic reassures the principles of the traditional format and the process of schooling. This way the study confirms that is possible reorganize the work and this is done by the politic pedagogic project (PPP). Faced with the new demands the schools find themselves in a cross road and their functionality is placed at doubt. As a result of this, we point out the crises of education, formation of young and the society. It is necessary to invest in the contradictions of the system and take possession of them to construct another, the opposite and reverse. It is up to the intellectuals and educators to do their job.
