Abstract:
The goal of this work is to look at the opposition of empirical terms – theoretical terms from a linguistic point of view, identifying attributes of the theoretical and empirical in terminology. It is proposed to be guided by the following principles. Theoricity is a graded (scaled) property. The term can be more or less theoretical, and even the minimum degree of its theoricity (provided, for example, by its definition, the understanding of which does not require special knowledge) means it is not entirely empirical. Empiricism of the term implies its perception and assimilation through any non-verbal (verbal) assimilation and explanation of it. These provisions cover terminology of various sciences and fields of knowledge, including humanities.

Abstract:
The article presents arguments about the problem of proof in science. This problem was raised in antiquity at the time of Plato and Aristotle. At present, science uses a wide range of evidence, but not all of them meet the requirements of adequacy and consistency. Proof is often associated with belief and belief in the truth of a proposition. Therefore, the term “proof” is not defined unambiguously and a pluralistic approach is preferable to it, including not only scientific, but also metaphysical worldview. The article continues the author's analysis of the concept of information as the content of the laws of the external world, which is revealed to people after they adapt their bodily and “mental” sense organs to it. It is substantiated that not a single single worldview can become a rationale for explaining the whole picture of the material Universe and, moreover, the metaphysical being.

Abstract:
Earlier research has put forward the theoretical proposition that R&D employees exhibit different patterns of allegiance — they tend to either develop a unilateral allegiance (to their own firm or to the inter-firm collaboration), a dual low allegiance or a dual high allegiance. It has also been proposed that each particular allegiance type influences these employees' knowledge sharing behaviour. The present paper empirically tests these claims. Analysing original data collected through 50 interviews that took place in 2011 and 2012 in the R&D units of two global firms in Finland, the United States, and China, we confirm that these allegiance patterns exist and there is a relationship between allegiance and knowledge sharing behaviour. We also extend the previous theoretical framework on which the study is based and analyse not only knowledge sharing, but also knowledge protection behaviour.

Abstract:
A knowledge network is defined as a form of social interaction designed to complement and enhance the benefits derived from the exchange of knowledge. In this regard, entrepreneurship can illustrate how these network structures influence the success or failure of a nascent business. The aim of this study is to analyze how knowledge networks, grounded in trust and solidarity, impact entrepreneurial activity by fostering synergies that promote innovation and employment. To this end, the theoretical-conceptual model called Knowledge Networks Based on Solidarity in Entrepreneurship is proposed. The research adopts a qualitative methodology based on the case study method, focusing on Company M, located in Toluca, State of Mexico, which specializes in the commercialization of construction tools and moldings. The selection of this profit-oriented company allows for the examination of whether entrepreneurial actions are solely motivated by profit maximization or, on the contrary, encompass the formation of knowledge networks characterized by trust and solidarity. A limitation lies in the very nature of the case study, which leads to context-specific findings that are not generalizable. However, the results validate the proposed theoretical-empirical framework, as the analysis reveals a positive correlation between solidarity and knowledge networks within the entrepreneurial domain.

Abstract:
Knowledge hiding and knowledge hoarding define two organizational behaviors that integrate knowledge withholding related phenomena in organizations. Although recent literature presents efforts to conceptually differentiate knowledge hiding and knowledge hoarding, evidence shows that there are emerging gaps resulting from conceptual and empirical inconsistencies between the constructs. This paper addresses the need for theoretical and empirical clarification by developing on the use of Grounded Theory (GT) as a systematic methodology to expand knowledge on both phenomena. This work explores core characteristics and procedures related to GT that can support the pursuit of theoretical refinement behind knowledge hiding and knowledge hoarding as dimensions of knowledge withholding. It presents three philosophical rationales that can support knowledge hiding and knowledge hoarding conceptualization using Classic, Interpretivist and Constructivist GT. Specifically, it provides a conceptual framework that discusses concerns of the researcher, literature review processes, data collection methods, and data coding and analysis strategies that should be considered to ensure quality in GT research. Lastly, it discusses an integration of research using mixed methods GT to address quantitative concerns surrounding GT. This paper contributes to the theoretical and empirical development of knowledge hiding and knowledge hoarding related phenomena by suggesting research conducts and designs to support the usage of GT approaches in the study of both phenomena

Abstract:
Among the problems of mathematical education, the article highlights: (1) insufficient attention paid to the fundamental, structure-forming role of mathematics; (2) speculative learning, its isolation from practice. The concept of theoretical-empirical dualism in teaching is formulated as the unity of the abstract-theoretical and experimental-empirical cognitive activity of students. According to the author, a priori and a posteriori mathematical knowledge should be distinguished. A priori knowledge either seems to an individual to be completely obvious, indisputable, or he assimilates it uncritically, “on faith”. A posteriori mathematical knowledge subjectively arises in the process of student’s intense theoretical and practical activity, and is being actively and comprehensively verified experimentally – either using mathematical applications, or through mathematical experiments. The empirical component of teaching mathematics implies a variety of forms and methods of active (including computer) and professionally oriented learning, giving experience in independent formulation of problems, joint search for ways to solve them, interaction and teamwork. Particular attention is paid to the use of mathematical experiments in those frequent cases when it is necessary to replace or supplement complex evidence, illustrate new knowledge, and give research skills. Monte Carlo mathematical experiments are demonstrated, which serve, in particular, as a bright, figurative, and convincing form of reinforcing theoretical knowledge in the field of stochastic branches of mathematics. The research work of students is considered as the highest stage of the students’ theoretical-empirical activity. The article proposes subjects of research activities of students in the process or upon completion of the study of probabilistic and statistical disciplines.

Abstract:
Abstract Market knowledge, market orientation, learning competencies, and a business performance were the key issues of the research project conducted in the 2006 study. The main findings identified significant relationships between the independent variables (market knowledge, market orientation, learning competencies) and the dependent variables (business success). A partial correlation analysis indicated that a business success primarily relies on organisational learning competencies. Organisational learning competencies, to a large extent (almost 60%), may be explained by the level of corporate market knowledge and market orientation. The aim of the paper is to evaluate to what extent the relationships between the variables are still valid. The research was based on primary and secondary data sources. The major field of the research was carried out in the form of quantitative studies. The results of the 2014 study are consistent with the previous (2006) results.

It is argued that the key problem of modern epistemology and philosophy of science is the problem of analyzing empirical material for which there is a lack of tools. It is shown that the theory of social relay races by M. Rozov (TSR) focuses on this and offers an original ontological model of the structure of knowledge. Only a theoretically built ontological model of cognition allows for a systematic collection of empirical knowledge, which is richly represented both in the history of science and in the real scientific practice of an actively working scientist.

Abstract:
The dynamics of knowledge management (KM) have evolved from the information-processing view of KM to the sense-making view of KM. The information-processing view of KM has been prevalent in the slow-paced, predicable environment. The sense-making view of KM, on the other hand, emerges in the environment where the fast, unpredictable pace of change is salient. Despite its significant and growing importance, there is a limited and fragmented understanding of the sense-making view of KM. This study addresses the issue of how the sense-making view of KM can be embodied by presenting and testing a research model. Data collected from 208 interdisciplinary teams were used to examine the research model by structural equation modeling. Results indicate that cognitive empowerment has a significant impact on perspective taking. Trust and media richness are critical determinants of cognitive empowerment. This study provides important insights of the role of cognition and behaviour in building the sense-making view of KM.

Abstract:
Introduction. This study undertakes a comprehensive exploration of existing instructional organizational models, spanning various disciplines within contemporary educational theory and knowledge management practice. The core objective is to propose an all-encompassing model tailored specifically to the preparation of future educational managers. This model places a significant emphasis on integrated educational strategies, further enriched by the integration of organizational learning processes in the context of knowledge management.
Aim and tasks. This study critically examines established models of organizational learning processes with the goal of developing a tailored model for training future educational managers. The goal is to equip aspiring educational managers with integrated didactic skills based on analyses of existing educational models that include concept analysis, model evaluation, and theoretical framework establishment.
Result. Organizational learning principles drive data-driven refinement, collaborative cross-disciplinary strategies, and leadership development. Sharing best practices enhances strength, whereas iterative feedback processes mitigate its limitations. This dynamic framework encourages adaptable education, fostering continuous improvement in teaching methods, curricula, and managerial training for a sustained educational evolution. Leveraging insights from existing models, the primary aim is to establish an instructional framework that seamlessly integrates a diverse range of content. Notably, the suggested model for training educational managers integrates teaching methodologies, character development, and methodological support for cultivating cultural learning skills, all underpinned by organizational learning processes within the domain of knowledge management. Furthermore, this integrated model incorporates progressive learning objectives that progressively increase in complexity and span the methodologies and resources employed to ensure effective learning outcomes based on comprehensive feature assessment techniques that gauge understanding and competencies.
Conclusions. This study navigates the landscape of models, culminating in the proposal of an integrated framework that caters to comprehensive aspiring training. This model facilitates the harmonious amalgamation of various subjects, and proficiencies introduce organizational learning processes within the domain of knowledge management. By fostering a multidisciplinary and holistic approach, this model equips future educators with the multifaceted demands of modern primary education while adequately managing knowledge within their organizational contexts.

The concepts of cross-theoretical and empirical integrations are taken into consideration at the methodological, theoretical, empirical, and practical levels. Some conditions for the integration of theories are highlighted and analyzed. Among them are differentiation, potential for generalization, dynamic structures and divergent functions, levels and multidimensionality, mediation, relativity and complementarity, integrative qualities. Particular attention is paid to three kinds of commonality, namely, causal, generalizing and intertwining ones. These varieties of commonality are theoretical in nature, and they need empirical support. For this, first of all, they need to be converted into empirical concepts and operationalized. The operationalization of cross-theoretical integrations and their empirical study propose three criteria such as the commonality, the mediation, and the time. Confirmatory factor analysis (one-factor and two-factor) is in use to examine the commonality. Structural equation modeling is used to investigate the mediation. The time distinguishes between the present, the future in relation to the present, and the future as an updated present (realized future).

The article shows that the knowledge that academic economists have gained largely related to concrete cases and not with rules. Economic models, empirical data, experimental results, and other sources of knowledge have the same epistemological status at economists, because they provide the cases with which they can compare the specific of economic problems.

Abstract:
This paper explores and discusses the experimental, critical and self-reflective use of differing methods in urban studies. In the context of frequent calls to investigate urban processes in a planetary and comparative perspective, the empirical groundedness of research is among the particularly complex challenges urban scholars are confronted with. The key question is: how can qualitative-empirical methods, such as ethnography or qualitative mapping, be adapted to explore contemporary urban conditions? This paper seeks to contribute to current debates by introducing a specific methodological design of a mobile ethnography that enables an analysis of large and heterogeneous urban territories, in three main ways: first, by offering a theoretically informed and empirically grounded transductive research design; second, by proposing a complementary set of cartographic, historiographic and comparative methods of which mobile ethnography is a part; and third, by suggesting post- and decolonial methodological perspectives, both conceptually by engaging with Latin American urbanisms, as well as empirically by furthering collaborative ways of knowledge production. To conclude, the paper stresses the need to continually develop new inventive methods for comparative urban research, for two main reasons: (1) to enable scholars to question established geographical representations and parochial imaginaries of urban space, and (2) to problematise methodological and theoretical dogmas with situated knowledge. By suggesting different representations of the urban, the paper thus emphasises how important it is to transductively entangle empirical and theoretical conceptualisations to further decentre and pluralize urban knowledge production.

Abstract In this Forum article, we discuss issues emerging from utilizing two significant theoretical constructs, Funds of Knowledge and Cultural Capital, in the field of second/multilingual language studies. Some similar underlying characteristics yet opposite perspectives surrounding the concepts and theoretical applications have confused researchers and practitioners. Hence, we address three major issues related to social class-based knowledge distinction, little consideration of diversity and agency, and lack of empirical evidence on the convertibility and transferability of knowledges. Through the discussions, we pose important questions to seek diversity and equity of knowledges and urge applied linguists to raise their critical awareness of recognition and use/exchange value of second/multilingual learners’ resources and knowledges.

The article presents the excursion of formation and phased development the methodology of scientific knowledge as a science, in close cooperation with the scientific philosophy: its status, functions, similarities and differences in their methodological significance. It is rivaled the influence of philosophy, logic, science and scientific knowledge on the further development of the methodology as a science. Stages and the concept of its formation and development are regarded and comparative analysis of the object, method, structure and function of philosophy and methodology of science light up their role as a factor of mutual interpenetration. Discussions on these issues are going on till nowdays for benefit of these sciences and their application in the implementation of the theoretical, empirical and applied research. The findings of the research show that any science should evolve under some general laws at the empirical and theoretical levels of research. Thus, the main task of Methodology of Scientific Knowledge, a science, is the study of general methods of cognition, ways and means of formation and development of new scientific knowledge (both empirical and theoretical), general laws of the development. Therefore, the study of general methods of cognition, ways and means of the formation and development of new scientific knowledge (both empirical and theoretical), general laws of the development of nature and society is the main task of two sciences - methodology of scientific knowledge and philosophy, while reproducing extra knowledge that is required for research in certainfields of science.

Abstract:
Statistical learners are leading towards auto-epistemic logic, but is it the right way to progress in artificial intelligence (AI)? Ways to discover AI fit the senses and the intellect. The structure of symbols–the operations by which the intellectual solution is realized–and the search for strategic reference points evoke essential issues in the analysis of AI. Studying how knowledge can be represented through methods of theoretical generalization and empirical observation is only the latest step in a long process of evolution. In this paper, we try to outline the origin of knowledge and how modern artificial minds have inherited it.

Abstract:
In considering the history of biodiversity paleontologists have focused on exploratory investigations of empirical data derived from the fossil record. Starting with the pioneering work of Philips (1860), and continuing at an increasing pace through today, this inductive approach has dominated diversity research. In contrast, deductive theoretical considerations that focus on the expected history of biodiversity, and develop independently of empirical knowledge, have remained under-explored. Appreciating the need for a nomothetic paleobiology (Gould 1980), we here reconsider the history of biodiversity, using deductive models constrained by a few, self-evident parameters. This analysis centers on the marine fossil record, the primary target of most previous empirical studies on the geological history of global biodiversity (e.g., Valentine 1969; Raup 1972, 1976; Sepkoski et al. 1981; Alroy et al. 2008).

Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to introduce an approximation of the kernel-based log-optimal investment strategy that guarantees an almost optimal rate of growth of the capital under minimal assumptions on the behavior of the market. The new strategy uses much less knowledge on the distribution of the market process. It is analyzed both theoretically and empirically. The theoretical results show that the asymptotic rate of growth well approximates the optimal one that one could achieve with a full knowledge of the statistical properties of the underlying process generating the market, under the only assumption that the market is stationary and ergodic. The empirical results show that the proposed semi-log-optimal and the log-optimal strategies have essentially the same performance measured on past NYSE data.

Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to overcome the weaknesses of intellectual capital (IC) estimation models, constructing and empirically verifying a new model that has the same strengths as the value-added intellectual coefficient (VAIC) but not its weaknesses. To better outline our analysis with respect to the many meanings that can be evoked by the term IC in the literature, we also define a new term: “hidden capital” (HDC) in the balance sheet. First, we analyze the epistemological and methodological aspects of the models existing in the literature, highlighting their weak points. Subsequently, using a logical-deductive methodology, we build a theoretical model, named “HDC”, to discover the “hidden capital”. Finally, we proceed to the empirical verification of the HDC model on a sample of over 1,800 listed European companies observed in the pre-pandemic period 2011–2019 (over 10,000 firm-year observations). The empirical verification through a regression panel model on eight European countries shows that all the variables of the HDC model are, unlike VAIC, significant and directly correlated to Tobin’s Q.

Abstract:
PurposeSharing knowledge of physicians in hospitals is critical and significant in terms of providing better healthcare services. Despite the significance of knowledge sharing in the healthcare setting, very few studies have empirically investigated knowledge sharing drivers among physicians. Particularly, the process of knowledge sharing through the interplay between individual characteristics, knowledge characteristics, and intention in a healthcare setting has received very little empirical support. In this study, the authors draw upon personality traits and knowledge characteristics theories to develop a theoretical model to empirically examine the effect of individual characteristics and knowledge characteristics on physicians' knowledge sharing behavior.Design/methodology/approachBased on a sample of 215 physicians from 20 hospitals in Jordan, the authors conducted data analysis using the partial least squares statistical technique.FindingsThe study revealed that the personality traits (Extraversion, Neuroticism, Agreeableness and Conscientiousness) significantly influence physician intention to share knowledge. Knowledge characteristic (Situatedness) was also found to affect the intention to share knowledge.Originality/valueVery little is known about the effect of individual characteristics and knowledge characteristics on knowledge sharing behavior among physicians. The study contributes to the related literature by empirically investigating how individual characteristics and knowledge characteristics influence physicians' knowledge sharing behavior. The findings add to the understanding of the role of personality traits and knowledge characteristics in physicians' intention to share knowledge and give important insights for practice and theory.

The review raises the traditional social science problem of sociological science, which consists in the impossibility of a smooth transition from empirical knowledge to theoretical knowledge. To solve this problem, a project of sociological science, which would rely on systems theory as its theoretical and methodological framework, is suggested. It is substantiated that such a theoretical and methodological basis will allow sociological research to bridge the gap between empirical and theoretical sociology and thereby embed sociological science together with natural sciences into a single system of sciences.

Abstract:
The paper positions the idea that in any empirical study, along with its ontological essence of the identification of the factors of reality, there is also an epistemological foundation that forms a theoretical platform at the beginning of the study and is enriched in the course of its implementation and completion. The article describes interaction of the theory of knowledge and applied research through revealing the essence of three epistemological aspects that always accompany the study of the problem posed: the paradigms used, new concepts and meanings as well as classified features. The argumentation of the positioned interpretations is given from an empirical study of works written by individual authors and writing teams on a number of issues. These are food production, determination of the factors influencing this process, including production optimization calculations; functional enrichment of rural areas of old-developed regions based on the development of tourism. The conducted empirical studies to a certain extent also contribute to the accumulation of theoretical knowledge of an epistemological nature.

Abstract:
Professional training of specialists in the field of musical art is an urgent task, as it contributes to the development of a performing and pedagogical culture, which is reflected in the understanding of a musical composition. High-quality music education ensures continuous professional and creative development. The purpose of the study is to determine the basic principles of combining empirical and theoretical knowledge in the educational process for training future musicians and pianists. The main methodological base of the study consists of: methods of theoretical (monographic, abstraction, and concretisation) and empirical (analysis, content analysis, generalisation of pedagogical experience, experiment) search. The study considers the main principles and trends in the development of modern piano pedagogy in Ukraine. The essence of the concepts of empirical and theoretical cognition in the context of the educational process is analysed and the features of their possible application in piano pedagogy are identified. An educational process model for training future pianists is proposed, which would allow providing favourable conditions for the development of a creative personality, better performing skills, and an independent professional performer. It is established that the specific features of piano pedagogy condition the need to adapt modern educational methods to the conditions of the educational process in the context of obtaining music education. As a result, during the application of the model for organising the teaching of piano art, which provides for the unity of theoretical and empirical cognition, the principles on which such a model should be based were identified. The practical value of the study lies in the fact that the development of a model for combining methods of theoretical and empirical cognition in the educational process of piano art students is proposed

Abstract Background and Purpose: This paper analyses the strategic aspects of knowledge management in organizations in Serbia, from the theoretical and empirical point of view. In its theoretical part, the paper analyzes the latest literature in the fields of knowledge management, relations between communications strategyes and knowledge management, generations of knowledge management and organizational culture. Design/Methodology/Approach: In its empirical part, the paper deals with determining the level of knowledge management in Serbian organizations through diffrent generations of knowledge management, as well as the problem with explicit and tacit knowledge management. The hypotheses were tested using data colleted from organizatons in Serbia via questionnaire, which consisted of 50 questions to examine five key factors in knowledge management. Results: The results showed that out of 41 indicators, only eight are rated positively. Results of t-test indicate significant distinctions within factors affecting the quality of knowledge management, as well as differences in quality of explicit and tacit knowledge management, therefore they confirmed both hypotheses. Conclusion: The knowledge management projects in organizations in Serbia are initiated, as well as that belonging to the first generation of knowledge management can be defined.

Abstract:
This study aims to examine the impact of corporate culture on knowledge management methods, including knowledge acquisition, knowledge conversion, knowledge application, and knowledge preservation. Organizational culture is the fundamental source of inspiration for personnel to behave in some desired way. Knowledge management practices in absence of supportive culture will fail to achieve desired outcomes because technology cannot replace human being. A questionnaire is designed on the basis of construct adopted from existing literature. Data is collected from five organizations with response rate of 63% as only 256 respondents replied out of 410. Data analysis is done through SPSS and AMOS. The outcomes of this study indicate that organizational culture significantly enhances knowledge management activities, including knowledge collection, conversion, application, and preservation. This study will enhance both theoretical and practical understanding by elucidating the influence of organizational culture on knowledge management techniques inside organizations. It will also contribute theoretically in existing literature. This study has also some future implications as improved knowledge management in an organization can results in better organizational performance and future studies can be conducted in this regard by considering other organizational factors. Similarly mediating effect in this relationship can also be studied.

Abstract:
Every advance carries with it potential problems, and longitudinal analysis is no exception. This paper focuses on the problems related to the massive amounts of data generated by longitudinal surveys. It is argued that a proliferation of data may be to the good but it will not necessarily lead to better scientific knowledge. Most demographers think the logical positivist way that theory arises out of empirical generalisations, but massive empirical investigations have only led to disappointing theoretical outcomes in demography. This paper discusses one way out of this impasse - to adopt a different view of theory, a model-based view of science. Theoretical models based on empirical generalisation should become the main representational device in science.
