Twenty patients with closed fractures of the shin bones have been operated using this device and treatment results have been analyzed. In 4 patients slight (up to 3°) angular displacements have been noted. In 1 patient 0.5 cm shortening of the shin has been present as a result of the previous fracture. Abstract The article presents the features of the most severe types of fractures of the distal articular part of the shin bones – fractures of the distal articular plateau of the tibia (pylon fractures). It is noted that in the surgical treatment of such injuries, both osteosynthesis with immersion fixators and transosseous osteosynthesis with external fixation devices are successfully used, which allows, in some cases, to produce a bloodless, sparing reposition of fractures. At the same time, the possibility of using transosseous osteosynthesis as a stage of fracture re

The treatment results of 31 patients with severe craniocerebral injury in combination with the extremity fractures (mainly femur and shin) are analysed. In 13 patients the osteosynthesis of long bones was performed within 3 days after injury and in 8 patients the fractures of the extremities were treated conservatively. Early 1-3 days osteosynthesis is shown to be performed on a more favorable metabolic level and contributes to the normalization of the disturbed correlation of the lipid peroxide oxidation and antioxidation system. Initially, only swelling was present, but later, it was associated with excruciating pain and difficulty in walking. On careful biomechanical evaluation, he was found to have overpronation at the ankle joints and tight adductors B/L.
