Abstract:
Gephi is an open source software for graph and network analysis. It uses a 3D render engine to display large networks in real-time and to speed up the exploration. A flexible and multi-task architecture brings new possibilities to work with complex data sets and produce valuable visual results. We present several key features of Gephi in the context of interactive exploration and interpretation of networks. It provides easy and broad access to network data and allows for spatializing, filtering, navigating, manipulating and clustering. Finally, by presenting dynamic features of Gephi, we highlight key aspects of dynamic network visualization.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Small-world network is a very common network structure, which is characterized by low average degree, small average path length and high centrality. At the same time, small-world networks have high resilience to random errors and low resilience to targeted attacks. In this study, the importance of nodes is represented by attributes such as degree and centrality, and attacks refer to the removal of important nodes. The network is attacked according to the degree, betweenness and closeness centrality to observe the power distribution. The data is mainly obtained from the open source OpenFlight. Gephi, Python, and Excel are used as tools. Gephi is used for network visualization and analysis. The third-party python libraries Pandas, Matplotlib, and NetworkX were used in this study to deal with the things that Gephi can't compute or represent well, and then plot the corresponding graphs with Matplotlib. The work of cleaning data is mainly done by excel.

Abstract:
The goal of this study was to create a Gephi network visualisation of the guided bone regeneration induced by tissue-engineered grafts using a histological score. Bioengineered bone grafts were obtained using CD 1 mice mesenchymal stem cells seeded on red deer antler scaffolds. Both basal and complex osteogenic media were used as osteogenic inducers of mesenchymal stem cells in the bioengineering process.Bone defects (5 mm in diameter) in the cranial bone of CD1 mice were surgically induced. Bone reconstruction was not performed in surgically induced bone defects in the control group, consisting of 30 subjects. In the study group, consisting of 60 subjects, bone reconstruction was performed using tissue engineered bone grafts. Subjects were sacrificed 2 and 4 months after surgery. Bone regeneration was assessed using a histological record.Comparative analysis of the bone regeneration process between the groups was performed using SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) , network analysis and the visual results were performed using Gephi software. The created Gephi network indicates a more advanced bone regeneration stage for subjects in the study group sacrificed after 4 months. The Gephi networks reveal the time evolution of the bone regeneration process, the nodes size and edges complexity increasing from subjects sacrificed at 2 months to those sacrificed at 4 months. At each stage, two and four months after surgery, bone regeneration was more advanced in the study group than in the control group and it was different for the two osteogenic media. We conclude that bone regeneration in critical size defects, as in our research, cannot be obtained without bone reconstruction.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Nyckelord                                                Twitter, Fastighetsmäklarbyrå, Marknadsföring, Gephi<br>Title                                                   Twitter – A sustainable supplement to the general marketing of real estate agencies?   Level                                                  Final assignment for Bachelor Degree in Business Administration   Author                                               Lisette Lexell &amp; Johan Wirtz   Supervisor                                         Jonas Kågström   Date                                                   2012 – May   Aim                                                    The purpose of this thesis is to get a clearer view of how real estate agencies using the social netwok Twitter, what their purpose of the usage are and what group of people they turn to. We want to find out whether Twitter works as a substainable complement to the general marketing for real estate agencies.   Method                                              Qualitative interviews with relevant people in real estate agencies, which currently have accounts on Twitter, have been conducted to examine and compare existing and nonexistent strategies for use of the agencies Twitter accounts. An analysis of the software Gephi has been done where the plugin Retweet Monitor charts the spread of retweets at a specific #hashtag. A quantitative survey designed to identify real estate agencies followers, has also been conducted.     Result &amp; Conclusions                             This study resulted in that Twitter can be substainable complement to the general marketing för real estate agencies if the platform is used proberly. We also created a model that maps out how real estate agencies can and make use of Twitter.   Suggestions for future research            An interest was created during the process of how a strategy for real estate agencies on Twitter can be designed. We see this as a proposal for further research. With Gephi and Retweet Monitor, we see great opportunities for further research of the agencies Twitter accounts, and its followers.   Contribution of the thesis                      In this thesis we have identifies the real estate agencies activity on Twitter and this could be the basis for possible establishment of a strategy in the future.   Key words                                               Twitter, Real estate agency, Marketing, Gephi

Abstract:
The remaining epigraphic material dating to the New Kingdom, mainly originates from Memphite burial contexts and contains therefore high quantities of prosopographic data (e.g. names, titles, geneaological relations), which provide information about the administrative and cultic personnel belonging to different Memphite institutions. Nevertheless, investigations of the people, who are recorded in inscriptions they left intentionally on objects and monuments in the Memphite region have occurred only sporadically. Moreover, the relevant works consist mostly of bare compilations of personal data and their arrangement to prosopographic lists. That\'s why it is the aim of my thesis to document all individuals attestested on inscribed monuments as well as their relationship with each other marked by social and genealogical ties. Based on that I\' like to attain a regional prosopography for the whole New Kingdom, which is for the first time not limited to specific groups of people, but illuminates all identifiable social classes of the Memphite society

SAPO Campus is an example of a social network that aims learning contexts where teachers’ and students’ roles merge and all users are at the same level. Then, the platform promotes content sharing in custom and private contexts for each user. The purpose of this work is to develop and evaluate a tool to export data to Social Network Analysis, for experts in the subject, using SAPO Campus as a technological support. With this tool, the researcher is allowed a quick and proper access to data, which could be hard and demand a lot of technical knowledge. Our research explores the comparative development of neuromarketing between the United States and France. Abstract:
In order to reduce the environmental load and the shortage in fresh water supply, recent studies have focused in establishing rules for a green and sustainable development or redesign of cities. As far as water issues are concerned, the role of infrastructure is commonly recognized as one of the main driver in determining the environmental results. Compared to other infrastructures, modern Water Distribution Systems suffer from a more important structural delay that is nowadays producing criticalities and issues in their everyday functioning. WDNs represent the most complex and main infrastructure for the transportation of clean drinking water from reservoirs and storage tanks to industrial and residential consumers. In order to satisfy consumers demand, WDNs must be constructed with a good layout that connects all points of water demand and should provide the best possible hydraulic conditions and operational requirements, minimizing network costs. This is known as the WDN design problem. In an attempt to resolve the optimization of real WDN problem, Information and Communication Technologies and Optimization Algorithms have been exploited. In this context, the aim of this master thesis is to propose the application of new methodologies to the optimal design of WDNs that include the employment of a Graph-theory, a modularity based approach and the concept of High-level flow, employed in order to simplify the WDN complexity before the optimization process. GHEST algorithm is exploited in order to deal the optimal design problem. The methodologies were applied to DTown and ModenaS networks, both already known in literature.

Abstract:
It deals with the investigation of the movement which this group pursued to establish its communication, the socialization of materials and registers, the study and the dialogue with distant colleagues and the possibility of establishing a virtual reflective environment on the theme Interdisciplinarity. An analysis based on the principles of an interdisciplinary education. In order to do so, we searched for an insight into the theory which firstly, has taken us to rescue the meaning of words as education, long distance education, technology, studying and dialogue among others, showing in such a manner, an educational context which this Interdisciplinarity insight demands. We concluded that the exercise of appropriation of virtual environments in an interdisciplinary perspective navigates slowly but solidly in communicative terms. At the same time and paradoxically, the quick productive moments after the use of virtual Internet resources were remarkable. We could also observe that the amplitude that the word Education possesses makes it difficult for us to establish the limits between long distance education and traditional classroom teaching. Finally, we concluded that the Interdisciplinarity insight into this problem has led us not to dismiss our built conceptions acquired by experience in the name of virtual environments, but rather to aggregate the specific considerations of each educational virtual environment within the already built frame of experience<br>Este trabalho de pesquisa envolve a análise do processo de apropriação do uso de ambientes virtuais baseados na Internet por um grupo de pesquisa e estudos sobre interdisciplinaridade GEPI, coordenado pela Profa. Ivani Fazenda.

Abstract:
AbstractHomelessness in later life is closely related to social exclusion and can cause further disadvantages in later life. This chapter explores the relationship between studies on older adult homelessness and the domains of social exclusion. A structure review process, in the form of a summative content analysis and a social network analysis, of all geriatrics and gerontology journals published in English was conducted. This review led to the identification of 59 articles on homelessness in older age as the research sample for this chapter. The patterns that emerged from summative content analysis and the social network analysis are visualised using GEPHI software. Our findings reveal the multidimensional aspects of old-age exclusion in the homelessness literature, and how homelessness can be a significant determinant of interrelated sets of disadvantages. Exclusion from services, amenities, and mobility and community and neighbourhood, and material and financial resources are the domains represented most in homelessness studies in the ageing literature. However, civic participation and socio-cultural aspects of social exclusion were partly ignored within this body of work.

Abstract:
This paper aims to analyze and identify the scientific collaboration network of the i workshop on information systems (wsi). To achieve this objective, data from the event proceedings were meticulously collected, processed, and cleaned using openrefine software. The cleaning process involved standardizing terms, removing inconsistencies, and ensuring data accuracy, which is crucial for generating reliable results. Once the data was properly cleaned, it was imported into gephi software, a powerful tool for network analysis and visualization. Specific algorithms within gephi were employed to construct the collaboration network, focusing on identifying the strongest and most evident relationships between participants. The analysis revealed a distinct central group within the collaboration network, consisting of participants who collaborate more closely and frequently with each other. This central group plays a pivotal role in driving the research and development activities within the workshop. Furthermore, the identified terms within the network point to recurring topics related to system development, highlighting the key areas of focus and expertise among the participants. The insights gained from this analysis provide valuable information on the structure and dynamics of scientific collaboration within the i wsi, offering potential strategies for enhancing future collaborations and fostering more effective knowledge exchange.

Abstract:
Global research output grows exponentially each year. This paper attempts to drive meaning out of this big data on two fields of research in architecture. It maps the interaction between the research fields of sustainability in architecture and architectural education through the perspective of bibliometric data analysis and its visualization. Based on the analysis of bibliometric data, it draws and juxtaposes two timelines for the field of sustainable architecture and the field of architectural education. The objective is to propose a retrospective method that can provide insight for a broader understanding of sustainability and its impacts on architectural education. It utilizes VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and Gephi to visualize bibliometric networks, along with Tableau to analyze the number of journal articles and publications published across years. The paper presents initial findings concerning the leading scholars, trends, and patterns of the research areas, milestone events, and dominant studies to point out the significance of the cooperation between research and education fields of the related topic.

Abstract:

Full text
Abstract:
In 2019, the Gambling Commission announced a National Strategy to Reduce Gambling Harms. Underlying the strategy is the Framework of Harms, outlined in Measuring gambling-related harms: A framework for action. "The Framework" adopts a public health approach to address gambling-related harm in Great Britain across multiple levels of measurement. It comprises three primary factors and nine related subfactors. To advance the National Strategy, all componentsneed to be supported by a strong evidence base. This report examines existing research expertise relevant to the Framework amongacademics based in the UK. The aim is to understand the extent to which the Framework factors and subfactors have been studied in order to identify gaps in expertise and provide evidence for decision making thatisrelevant to gambling harms research priorities. A social network analysis identified coauthor networks and alignment of research output with the Framework. The search strategy was limited to peer-reviewed items and covered the 12-year period from 2008 to 2019. Articles were selected using a Web of Science search. Of the 1417 records identified in the search, the dataset was refined to include only those articles that could be assigned to at least one Framework factor (n = 279). The primary factors and subfactors are: Resources:Work and Employment, Money and Debt, Crime;Relationships:Partners, Families and Friends, Community; and Health:Physical Health, Psychological Distress, and Mental Health. We used Gephi software to create visualisations reflecting degree centrality (number of coauthor networks) so that each factor and subfactor could be assessed for the density of research expertise and patterns of collaboration among coauthors. The findings show considerable variation by framework factor in the number of authors and collaborations, suggesting a need to develop additional research capacity to address under-researched areas. The Health factor subcategory of Mental Health comprised almost three-quarters of all citations, with the Resources factor subcategory of Money and Debt a distant second at 12% of all articles. The Relationships factor, comprised of two subfactors, accounted for less than 10%of total articles. Network density varied too. Although there were few collaborative networks in subfactors such as Community or Work and Employment, all Health subfactors showed strong levels of collaboration. Further, some subfactors with a limited number of researchers such as Partners, Families, and Friends and Money and debt had several active collaborations. Some researchers’ had publications that spanned multiple Framework factors. These multiple-factor researchers usually had a wide range of coauthors when compared to those who specialised (with the exception of Mental Health).Others’ collaborations spanned subfactors within a factor area. This was especially notable forHealth. The visualisations suggest that gambling harms research expertise in the UK has considerable room to grow in order to supporta more comprehensive, locally contextualised evidence base for the Framework. To do so, priority harms and funding opportunities will need further consideration. This will require multi-sector and multidisciplinary collaboration consistent with the public health approach underlying the Framework. Future research related to the present analysis will explore the geographic distribution of research activity within the UK, and research collaborations with harms experts internationally.
