Abstract:
The objective of this research is to give recommendation for a bakery chain operator called Greggs in terms of improving their breakfast menu selection to generate more sales. The research method uses SWOT analysis to produce a strategic development plan. Greggs is one of the largest United Kingdom bakery stores and performs well in generating revenue as the turnover. The uncertainty of Brexit, the minimum wage set by the government, the highest proportion of people who usually eat breakfast on the go, development of a mobile app, breakfast preference to a healthier fresh meal and reduce sugar consumption, competitor, extreme winter weather, and the government policy have an impact on Gregg revenue. Based on the SWOT analysis result it can be concluded that Gregg needs to utilize the position as the market leader to promote the benefit of high-quality healthy food, use the revenue to start on research for healthy products innovation, use the healthy breakfast trend to introduce vegan breakfast menu, add more drink option for the breakfast deal to make it more convenient for people to commute, keep focusing on the quality and taste development with a competitive price, add more menu that correspondent with consumer demand, and try to efficiently spend the revenue based on priority to cut operating cost.

Abstract:
A colleague commented that it is difficult to give a clear brief summary of Eccentric Existence because it has so many moving parts. That's fair, and for that reason Tom Greggs offers not a précis but, as he says, a ‘tour’ of EE. I am grateful to him for this perceptive, perspicuous and generous tour of the book's premises and conclusions. I want to address as best I can here Greggs's several ‘unsystematic probes’. The probes seem to me to fall into two broad groups, one raising formal or methodological concerns and the other substantive concerns. I shall begin with the first group, taking them up in more or less the order in which they were made.

Abstract:
The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the global economy, with the food sector particularly affected due to the necessity to maintain operations amidst health and safety challenges. This research report examines the operational dilemmas faced by Greggs, a prominent British bakery chain, in the wake of the pandemic. Utilizing PESTLE analysis, the study explores the political, economic, social, technological, legal, and environmental factors influencing Greggs' strategic decision-making and operations. Key findings indicate that Brexit and health regulations have introduced uncertainties and risks, while technological advancements offer opportunities for improved customer experience and operational efficiency. The study employs the SMART model to outline Greggs' goal of expanding its retail presence while maintaining food quality and safety. Market research methodologies, including questionnaires, interviews, and focus groups, reveal consumer preferences and the impact of COVID-19 on Greggs' accessibility and sales. The report concludes with a marketing mix summary, emphasizing the need for digital transformation and innovative strategies to adapt to the new consumer landscape shaped by the pandemic.

Abstract:
This article explores the 2022 edition of Boomtown Fair, the UK's leading festival for alternative, underground music. This particular event was notable due to the surprising prevalence of participants dressed in clothing bearing the logo of Greggs, the high street bakery. This was the result of a partnership between Greggs and the fashion retailer Primark, who the weekend before Boomtown had released a "festival collection," featuring multiple items of clothing promoting the bakery. During the festival itself, hundreds of participants could be found proudly wearing items from this collection, to a degree that was difficult to ignore. An apparent affiliation between these three enterprises —Boomtown, Greggs, and Primark—had undeniably resonated with audiences, a situation worthy of study due to what may subsequently be revealed about contemporary attitudes to fashion, music, and festival culture. I argue that the primary explanation for this occurrence is the presence of a post-ironic mindset shared by many of the attendees of Boomtown Fair. First being used to describe the writings of 1990s authors such as David Foster Wallace, the notion of post-irony is characterized by its unconventional blend of both genuine sincerity and ironic detatchment. The concept has since been used to explain and rationalize numerous aspects of modern culture. Through an analysis of the post-ironic mindset, I present a case for why the Greggs-Primark range appealed so extensively to the Boomtown audience of 2022. I provide a comprehensive investigation that also reveals insights into contemporary trends surrounding the interaction between brands and consumers, considering the extent to which festivals and events like Boomtown have helped to facilitate this interaction.

Abstract If the church may be described as an ‘actual communal expression of salvation,’ how do ordinary Methodists experience and articulate the significance of belonging? This paper explores the salvific dimension of belonging through a case study of a Methodist church in Cornwall, UK. Drawing on a practical theological reading of Philippians and in dialogue with Tom Greggs’ Dogmatic Ecclesiology, I argue that belonging is a concrete ecclesiological concept which serves as a vital locus of salvation in the world today.

Abstract:
Gregory “Gregg” Schraw was an international scholar interested in investigating psychological phenomena related to self-regulated learning theory. This reflection article summarizes Gregg’s research trajectory about the three main components of self-regulated learning: cognition, motivation, and metacognition, while presenting the impact of his trajectory regarding some of the most relevant works of his legacy, and his contributions to the development of self-regulated learning theory and metacognition. The contributions of Gregg’s work to theoretical and applied contexts in his field of research are discussed. The reflection concludes with some implications on Gregg's work and legacy and with the presentation of some of the gaps or gaps that he, as a visionary, considered for the field of study and that in his research program he wanted to pursue in his future work.

Abstract:
The cell substratum attachment (CSAT) antibody recognizes a 140-kD cell surface receptor complex involved in adhesion to fibronectin (FN) and laminin (LM) (Horwitz, A., K. Duggan, R. Greggs, C. Decker, and C. Buck, 1985, J. Cell Biol., 101:2134-2144). Here, we describe the distribution of the CSAT antigen along with FN and LM in the early avian embryo. At the light microscopic level, the staining patterns for the CSAT receptor and the extracellular matrix molecules to which it binds were largely codistributed. The CSAT antigen was observed on numerous tissues during gastrulation, neurulation, and neural crest migration: for example, the surface of neural crest cells and the basal surface of epithelial tissues such as the ectoderm, neural tube, notochord, and dermomyotome. FN and LM immunoreactivity was observed in the basement membranes surrounding many of these epithelial tissues, as well as around the otic and optic vesicles. In addition, the pathways followed by cranial neural crest cells were lined with FN and LM. In the trunk region, FN and LM were observed surrounding a subpopulation of neural crest cells. However, neither molecule exhibited the selective distribution pattern necessary for a guiding role in trunk neural crest migration. The levels of CSAT, FN, and LM are dynamic in the embryo, perhaps reflecting that the balance of surface-substratum adhesions contributes to initiation, migration, and localization of some neural crest cell populations.

Abstract:
This research paper assignment on the 2016 Indiana gubernatorial election was done in two parts. The first part (not included) was on predicting the winner of this election. My prediction for the Democratic candidate, John Gregg, was incorrect. This essay is the follow-up analysis (written within two weeks after the election results) of what transpired during the election in relation to my prediction. I argue that the Eric Holcomb win and Gregg loss was due to the larger national Republican victory, a lack of Democratic campaigning power in Indiana, Gregg’s (over)emphasis of LGBT rights, his dismay for the RFRA, and Holcomb’s optimistic economic plans. Gregg’s connection to Mike Pence is also discussed as a defining factor of his win. Demographics of the Indiana exit polls are also considered. While the race was polled, and reported as a toss-up in the weeks before the election, in hindsight, a Republican Governor winning in a largely Republican state is a logical conclusion.

Abstract:
In “Something prety out of very little”: Graniteville Mill Village, 1848, Lisa Goff describes how Charleston entrepreneur William Gregg built Graniteville, South Carolina, to prove the viability of southern manufacturing, which he believed could help avert war between South and North, and to quell planters’ fears that industry would mar the beauty of the South. The village's whitewashed Carpenter Gothic cottages, with matching hotel, school, and church designed by Richard Upjohn, were intended to instill virtues of hard work, clean living, and respect for authority in a white workforce drawn from surrounding farms. Gregg exercised a patriarch's control over his industrial utopia, but the nicknames workers gave the place, and what they told visiting missionaries, show that they experienced Gregg's Gothic hamlet on their own terms. An avid gardener and horticulturist active in the Episcopal Church, Gregg would have been aware of the claims to moral superiority associated with the Gothic Revival style. Goff's analysis of letters, published articles, corporate reports, and advertisements in local newspapers reveals that Gregg's strategies of social contol—adapted from his study of Robert Owen and David Dale—had sinister underpinnings: programmed for hard work at low wages by the “ethical” architecture and orderly “natural” landscape, a white, largely female workforce would insulate the Graniteville Mill from the effects of abolition, should it come.

Abstract:
AbstractIn 1969, Robert E. Gregg collected five species of ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) in three Subarctic localities near the town of Churchill, Manitoba, Canada, which he documented in a 1972 publication in The Canadian Entomologist. To determine whether there have been any additions to the local fauna – as might be predicted to occur in response to a warming climate and increased traffic to the Port of Churchill in the intervening 40 years – we re-collected ants from the same localities in 2012. We identified the ants we collected from Gregg’s sampling sites using both traditional morphological preparations and DNA barcoding. In addition, we examined specimens from Gregg’s initial collection that are accessioned at the Field Museum of Natural History (Chicago, Illinois, United States of America). Using this integrative approach we report seven species present at the same sites Gregg sampled 40 years earlier. We conclude that the apparent increase is likely not due to any arrivals from more southerly distributed ants, but to the increased resolution provided by DNA barcodes to resident species complexes with a complicated history. We provide a brief synopsis of these results and their taxonomic context.

I begin my necessarily brief commentary on Gregg (2000) with a confession: I am not, nor have I ever been, a practising postmodernist. I freely admit, however, that some of the ideas that have emerged from this project are sufficiently interesting to take seriously. I wrote my 1996 article to stir up the waters and to explore what a postmodernist perspective might do for, and to, second language acquisition (SLA). It can be useful for any discipline to have its accepted way of doing business interrogated and even disturbed. Judging from Gregg’s response, I seem to have succeeded. In what follows I limit my comments to some specific points that appear to have raised most of Gregg’s hackles.

Abstract:
In December 1927, Alan Gregg set off for Moscow on behalf of the Rockefeller Foundation’s Division of Medical Education to carry out a “survey of local conditions” in Soviet medical education. The visit, which had been five years in the making, was eagerly anticipated by foundation officials as the first opportunity to secure “reliable knowledge” about the new Russia. Once in the field, Gregg was confronted by important dilemmas of judgment. He had gone to Russia with a made-in-America model of medical education favored by Rockefeller Foundation officers. Was Soviet medical education a variant of the model or something radically new? In making judgments on this issue, Gregg spoke with a variety of actors involved at all levels of Soviet medical education. Which voices to credit, which to discount? Solomon examines Gregg’s landmark voyage to Russia as an instance of the challenges that face expert travelers who seek to “know” a foreign locale.

He has been portrayed by historians as the “Marble Arch,” a leader who reigned over one Church across two states. This article reevaluates that interpretation: by using the period of the Second World War as a case study, it suggests that the historiographical portrayal of Gregg has neglected other significant aspects of his character and career. This article contends that, in addition to being a dominant leader, he was a British patriot, a pastor, and a scholar. Gregg navigated a course that recognized both states and their differing positions regarding the conflict; and he contributed to post-war desires for unity among Irish Anglicans across those states during a period of increased division on the island. The article, by bringing fresh attention to Gregg, discusses an under-examined figure in the history of the Church of Ireland and explores a hitherto neglected period in that historiography. By contextualizing Gregg's wartime rhetoric with that of Anglican churchmen in England, the study also addresses lacunae both in the historiography of religion and the Second World War and in that of Irish and Northern Irish experiences of the conflict.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The article discusses the main ideas of the book by M. Gregg, “Counterproductive: Time Management in the Knowledge Economy”, devoted to the history and modern forms of working time management. Gregg’s book combines a historical introduction with an original theoretical perspective, based on the ideas of P. Sloterdijk, in particular, on the concept of “anthropotechnics”, which Gregg uses as the basic conceptual detail of her work. The author’s attention to the historical roots of the idea of optimizing working time, which is attributed to the female experience of managing the household, is also especially noted. Both innovative and noteworthy aspects of the study of the phenomenon of “time management” are shown, as well as its shortcomings, in particular, the lack of a clearly formulated alternative for the growing self-exploitation of people associated with the race to increase individual productivity.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract Religion is a common source of “thick” morality and therefore a common obstacle to public policy consensus in pluralistic societies. But religion also adapts its thick moral commitments to prevailing social, cultural, and procedural dispositions. Engaging the model of “thick moralities and thin politics” proposed by Benjamin Gregg (2003), I explore the process by which religion adapts to the demands of normatively “thin” politics. To conceptualize this, I survey how American Christianity is negotiating aspects of postmodernism and how this negotiation offers one way to understand religion’s increased engagement with politics at the level of thin normativity. Thus, I would add to Gregg’s model by focusing on one example of a transition from “thick to thin”.
