Abstract:
Upcycling can be described as an activity where outdated or discarded products are used as raw-materials in the construction of a new object, for which an increased quality or value is achieved. Some ideas for upcycling of technologically simple products have prooved successful, in the sense that those ideas have become widespread and practically implemented within a certain target audience. This thesis explores how an idea concerning upcycling of an electric product can be developed into a prototype, with the intent to simplify application of the idea within the target audience of electronic hobbyists. This is achieved through the development of a prototype for an adapter, the purpose of which is to extend the functionality of a character based LCD module with the Hitachi HD44780 control circuit. This allows for using such LCD module for displaying text in additional languages, and (for certain applications) using it as a substitute for a monochromatic graphical LCD module. The conclusion of the study is that the adapter prototype is capable of increasing the number of user defined characters that can be displayed simeltanously by a character LCD module, and that the prototype may be of use for certain types of applications within the intended target audience.<br>"Upcycling" kan beskrivas som en syssla där föråldrade eller kasserade produkter används som material vid tillverkning av ett nytt föremål, vilket har högre kvalitet eller värde. Det finns exempel på idéer för "upcycling" av teknologiskt enkla produkter vilka har visat sig framgångsrika, i bemärkelsen att de har nått spridning och tillämpas praktiskt inom någon målgrupp. I detta arbete undersöks hur en idé för "upcycling" av en elektrisk produkt kan utvecklas till en prototyp, med syftet att underlätta tillämpning av denna idé inom målgruppen elektronikhobbyister. Detta sker genom utveckling av en prototyp till en adapter, som utökar funktionaliteten hos en teckendisplaymodul med styrkretsen Hitachi HD44780. Adapterns funktion är att öka det antal användardefinierade tecken som kan visas på en sådan teckendisplaymodul. Detta möjliggör att teckendisplaymodulen kan användas för att visa text på fler språk, och att den för vissa ändamål kan användas som substitut för en monokrom grafisk displaymodul. Slutsatsen av arbetet är att prototypen av denna adapter kan användas för att öka det antal användardefinierade tecken som samtidigt kan visas på en teckendisplaymodul, samt att prototypen kan vara användbar för vissa syften inom den avsedda målgruppen.

Abstract:
The purpose of this thesis is to identify areas where the present production process can be more effective with the help of automation solutions and how this efficiency can contribute to improved productivity, quality, safety and ergonomics. Today, Hitachi ABB Power Grids has a manual manufacturing process for customized power transformers and seeks to meet a demand that requires a more automated approach. The research problem deals with five workstations for Hitachi ABB Power Grids production process of the internal components of power transformers. These workstations are connectors (A-donet), core stacking (including core cutting), winding, active part assembly and final assembly.  The study's questions are, 1. how should Hitachi ABB Power Grids manually based production process be more effective through automation solutions? and 2. which automation solution meets the best requirements of increased productivity, quality, safety and ergonomics with acceptable profitability? To answer these questions and achieve the thesis purpose, the study was carried out in the form of a qualitative case study, which data was collected via documents, observations, interviews and literatures.  Hitachi ABB Power Grids current production process was studied and a dialogue was held with the employees. Consequently, the obstacles that have prevented Hitachi ABB Power Grids from implementing automation were identified. Together with a market description, several concept proposals have been brainstormed. Core-laying machine is a potential automation solution in Hitachi ABB Power Grids production but is not taken into account based on the company's needs. The study resulted in Augmented Reality (AR) in the production process for increased communication. A complete solution is discussed to avoid a shifting effect that can occur when automating only one workstation. If the company implements the core-laying machine, the bottleneck will disappear at this workstation where pre-cut sheet metal is waiting to be used. Consequently, a new bottleneck would arise at the winding which would not be able to maintain the same speed, thus more cores can be manufactured than to be wound. To maintain the same productivity, the total workstation area of the winding should be widened and make room for more winding stations. The workforce that was previously at the core, can be trained to become a winding worker which can be made more efficient by letting the workers be trained in a mixed reality. The conclusion is that Microsoft's AR equipment, HoloLens 2 Remote Assist, is the automation solution that best meets the requirements of increased productivity, quality, safety and ergonomics. An investment in this information technology solution would result in a payback period of 12 months.<br>Syftet med detta examensarbete är att identifiera områden där den nuvarande produktionsprocessen kan effektiviseras med hjälp av automationslösningar och hur denna effektivisering kan bidra till förbättrad produktivitet, kvalitet, säkerhet och ergonomi. Idag har Hitachi ABB Power Grids en manuell tillverkningsprocess avseende kundanpassade krafttransformatorer och de försöker bemöta en efterfrågan som kräver ett mer automatiserat tillvägagångssätt. Studiens problemställning behandlar fem arbetsstationer för tillverkning av de inre komponenterna av krafttransformatorer. Dessa arbetsstationer är anslutningsdon (A-don), kärnläggning (inklusive kärnklippning), lindning, aktiv delmontage och slutmontage.  Studiens frågeställningar är, 1. hur bör Hitachi ABB Power Grids manuellt baserade produktionsprocess effektiviseras genom automationslösningar? och 2. vilken automationslösning uppfyller bäst kraven på ökad produktivitet, kvalitet, säkerhet och ergonomi med godtagbar lönsamhet? För att besvara dessa frågeställningar och uppnå studiens syfte, genomfördes examensarbetet i form av en kvalitativ fallstudie, vilket medförde att data insamlades via dokument, observationer, intervjuer och litteraturer.    Hitachi ABB Power Grids nuvarande process studerades och en dialog fördes med de anställda. Följaktligen identifierades hinder som har gjort att Hitachi ABB Power Grids ännu inte har implementerat automatisering. Tillsammans med en marknadsbeskrivning, har flertal konceptförslag brainstormats fram. Kärnläggningsmaskin är en potentiell automationslösning hos Hitachi ABB Power Grids produktion, men har selekterats bort utifrån företagets behov. Studien resulterade i förstärkt verklighet (AR) i produktionsprocessen för ökad kommunikation. Det diskuteras en helhetslösning för att undvika en förskjutningseffekt som kan uppstå vid automatisering av endast en arbetsstation. Om företaget implementerar kärnläggningsmaskinen, försvinner flaskhalsen vid denna arbetsstation där färdigklippt plåt väntar på att nyttjas. Följaktligen skulle en ny flaskhals uppstå vid lindningen som inte skulle kunna upprätthålla samma hastighet, därmed kan fler kärnor tillverkas än vad som hinner lindas. För att hålla samma produktivitet bör lindningens totala arbetsstationsyta vidgas och göra plats för fler lindningsstationer. Arbetskraften som tidigare befunnit sig vid kärnläggningen, kan läras upp till att bli lindare som i sin tur kan effektiviseras genom att låta arbetstagarna läras upp i en mixad verklighet. Slutsatsen är att Microsofts AR-utrustning, HoloLens 2 Remote Assist, är den lösning som uppfyller bäst kraven på ökad produktivitet, kvalitet, säkerhet och ergonomi. En investering i denna informationstekniska lösning skulle resultera i en återbetalningsperiod på 12 månader.

Abstract:
This assignment is based on the tolerance problems that occur with the radial dimensions or RR-dimensions for the windings. The purpose is to identify the various parameters that affect said RR-dimensions and where these parameters originate from to be able to assure quality of the winding process. The RR-dimension has a tolerance of + 2,2 and - 1,1 mm, but it is only the positive tolerance that cause problems. The case study is based on a mixture of quantitative and qualitative methods. Quantitative data collections of dimensions for leaders and how the RR-measurement are affected by them, analysis of tolerances and how well they are adapted for their purpose. Qualitative observations, experiments and semi-structured interviews have also been conducted to gain a deeper understanding of the problem. The results show that tolerance problems originate from several different factors. The first factor is the debatable tolerance setting on some conductors, mainly the thin CTC conductors that do not have a high radial dimension. These conductors have tolerances that do not fill a purpose because it does not ensure the quality for the winding. The conductors need a tighter tolerance spectrum for the positive direction to be fully functional. The air gap that can occur between the conductors is also a cause of error. This stems from the fact that it is not possible to achieve a sufficiently high force when tensioning the disc. This can also occur from the uneven surface of the CTC-conductor that can create gaps. Another cause of error that affects the dimension is the number of turns for a disc. When a disc is wound with a high number of turns it will lead tothat the influencing factors have a higher amount of turns to effect on. This means that a small increase of the conductor's nominal dimension or small air gaps has a large impact on the overall RR-dimension.<br>För att kvalitetssäkra transformator- och reaktorlindningarna hos företaget Hitachi ABB skade utsatta toleranserna för varje lindning uppfyllas för att kunna fortsätta vidare i produktionslinan. Arbetet är grundat utifrån de förekommande variationerna hos lindningarnas mått i radiell riktning (RR-mått. Arbetets syfte är att undersöka Hitachi ABB:s lindningsproduktion för att finna de faktorer som ger upphov till måttvariationer hos RRmåttet. De identifierade faktorerna ska användas för att kvalitetssäkra företagets lindningsprocess. Färdigställt arbete ska användas som grund för företagets fortsatta arbetekring kvalitetssäkring. RR-måttet har en tolerans på + 2,2 och – 1,1 mm, däremot är detendast de variationer i positivt led där problem uppstår. Vid ett för högt mått genomförs enutredning för att se över om lindningen kan brukas ändå eller utifall de för höga måttet i radiell riktning påverkar prestandan samt montering. Arbetet är en fallstudie utfört med en blandning av kvantitativa och kvalitativa metoder. Denkvantitativa datainsamlingens syfte är att undersöka ledares mått i lindningar för att se hur RR-måttet påverkas måttsättning och varvantal. Den kvantitativa datainsamlingen genomför också analyser av toleranser och hur väl anpassade de är för sitt syfte. Kvalitativa observationer, experiment och halvstrukturerade interjuver har genomförts för att skapa en djupare förståelse kring problemet.Resultatet visar att de variationer som uppstår hos RR-måttet påverkas av flera olika faktorer.Variationer hos RR-måttet uppstår främst för lindningar där en CTC-ledare används. En påverkande faktor är toleransvidden för ledarna, främst för de tunna CTC-ledarna. Ledarna lindas runt varandra där ledarens mått staplas på varandra för att bilda ett RR-mått. För de tunna CTC-ledarna bör en mindre toleransvidd användas, mer specifikt en lägre positiv tolerans likt de platta ledarna för att kunna kvalitetssäkra lindningen. En annan påverkandefaktor är de luftspalter som uppstår mellan ledarna. Luftspalter härstammar ifrån att det integår att uppnå tillräckligt hög kraft vid spänning av en skiva alternativt från CTC-ledarens knöliga yta. Utöver dessa två faktorer har antalet lindade varv för en skiva en påverkan förtoleransstapling. Fler varv resulterar i att små måttavvikelser för ledare påverkar det totala måttet, vilket innebär att de luftspalter som kan uppstå blir fler när antalet varv ökar.

It serves in a wide variety of industries including but not limited to information systems, social infrastructure and automotive systems as well as home appliances. In 2008, however, due to the financial crisis, Hitachi scored the largest loss ever in the Japanese manufacturing industry. I analyze how Hitachi returned from the brink of bankruptcy by comparing it with other domestic players. I also look back on Hitachi's overall history to overview its growth. Looking at today's world, we see disruptive technologies shaped into the practical use to solve social problems. Global firms lead innovations by developing and absorbing the cutting-edge technologies, rebuilding their organization and business portfolio accordingly, and establishing new industrial standards. After its restructuring, Hitachi also started the same approach, but its momentum and boldness seem to be less than those of its competitors. Through restructuring since 2009, Hitachi has returned to its position as a domestic champion in the industry. However, it falls far behind the global companies. Therefore, the aim of this thesis is to explore challenges Hitachi faces to be a globally competitive company, and solutions to those problems. My proposal starts from strategy planning. Social Innovation Business is Hitachi's commitment to society, and I evaluate that it is a good strategy. In addition, to prepare for uncertainty, Hitachi should be equipped with the longer perspectives. To maintain competitiveness longer and to deliver value, I propose the organizational structure with which Hitachi can plan a better strategy and execute it accordingly. Abstract:
All companies strive for increased quality and productivity in their operations by streamlining resource use and / or using new technology. This has led them to try to find new technical solutions that can be integrated into production as part of the improvement process, and that can drive the improvement work in the company forward.   The purpose of this study is to identify opportunities for the use of laser projection technology in manufacturing processes and to study whether there may be a potential to use the technology in parallel with the manual activities. The study presents various theories about laser projection technology and identifies important concepts, and it is conducted at Hitachi-ABB in a sheet metal workshop department within their production of transformers. To do this, several interviews and observations have been conducted within their factory in Ludvika, and a company that supplies laser projection products has been contacted to study their products and find a product that fits.   The result has been that the company Faro supplies laser projection technology solutions and has suitable products that can minimize disruption to manual work and can replace a large part of the measurement, etching and quality control that is performed in the Detail area of ​​the sheet metal workshop department. Faro Tracer has not been tested in the workplace, but a comparison has been made between data collected from Hitachi-ABB and the technology supplier Faro. However, further studies must be performed where the technology can be tested on-site.<br>Alla företag strävar efter ökad kvalitet och produktivitet inom deras verksamheter genom att effektivisera resursanvändning och använda nya teknologier. Detta leder till att företag försöker hitta nya tekniska lösningar som kan göra produktivitet och integrering i produktion som en del av förbättringsprocessen med syfte att driva förbättringsarbetet i företaget.   Syftet med denna studie är att identifiera möjligheter för användning av laserprojiceringsteknik i tillverkningsprocesser, och studera om företaget potentiellt kan använda sig av tekniker och vilka fördelar detta för mig. Studien presenterar en beskrivning och ger en teoretisk grund för laserprojiceringsteknik samt identifierar viktiga begrepp. Arbetet utförs på Hitachi-ABB på plåtverkstadavdelningen som är en del av deras produktion av transformatorer. Under studiet har flera intervjuer och observationer gjort inom fabriken i Ludvika. Ett företag som levererar laserprojiceringsprodukter har blivit kontaktad för att studera deras produkter och hitta en produkt som passar.   Resultatet lyfter fram en produkt från företaget Faro som levererar lösningar för laserprojektionsteknik och har produkter som kan minimera störningar på manuellt arbete och kan ersätta en stor del av mätning, ritsning och kvalitetskontroll som utförs inom plåtverkstadavdelning. Faro Tracer har inte blivit testad på den aktuella arbetsplatsen utan studiet presenterar end detaljerad analys där en jämförelse har gjorts mellan insamlade data från Hitachi-ABB och leverantören av tekniker Faro. Vidare studier behöver utföras där implementering av tekniker kan prövas på plats.

En strömbrytare är en säkerhetsanordning som är utformad för att bryta strömmen om ett problem uppstår. Det finns ett flertal olika typer av brytare beroende vilket spänningsområde som avses. Brytare för lågspänning används för hushållsapparater, medan högspänningstyper används för överföring av spänning i elnätet. Högspänningsbrytare använder idag svavelhexafluorid (SF6)-gas, som ett isolerande medium för att släcka den elektriska ljusbåge som bildas när strömmen bryts. SF6 är dock problematiskt för miljön, då dess globala uppvärmningspotential (GWP) är 23 500 gånger högre jämfört med koldioxid (CO2). Företaget Hitachi ABB Power Grids har utvecklat AirPlus™-tekniken som ersätter SF6-gasen med en koldioxidbaserad gasblandning. Examensarbetet fokuserade på att utvärdera möjligheten att minska användningen av SF6 genom AirPlus™-tekniken och hur tekniken skulle kunna en introduceras på marknaden. Slutligen så utvecklades en strategi för hur detta skulle kunna ske. Studien innefattar den bakomliggande informationsinhämtningen och analysen av data, marknadsutvärdering och utvecklingen av marknadsstrategin. Detta utfördes genom att utvärdera AirPlus™-tekniken och dess konkurrenter, samt genom en kvalitativ och kvantitativ analys av implementeringen av LTA 420 kV-brytaren på marknaden. Sammanfattningsvis så visar studien att marknadsintroduktionen av strömbrytaren LTA 420 kV är genomförbar. Även om koldioxid tekniskt inte har samma prestanda som SF6, är tekniken fortfarande bra och ger starka kundfördelar: GWP minskar med över 99,9%, användningen överensstämmer med miljöregler, den ger lägre ägandekostnader, färre kontroller, lägre kostnad för hantering av koldioxidgasen, och fungerar väl vid extremt låga temperaturer. De viktigaste utmaningarna för Hitachi ABB Power Grids relaterar till konkurrensen på marknaden. Det är därför tillrådligt att företaget arbetar med en effektiv marknadsintroduktion för att säkerställa en stor marknadsandel.<br>A circuit breaker is a safety device designed to interrupt power if a problem is detected. There are several kinds of circuit breakers for different applications. Low-voltage circuit breakers are used for household appliances, while high-voltage types are used for transmission networks. High-voltage circuit breakers use sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) gas as an insulating medium, which extinguishes the electric arc that is formed when power is cut. However, it is a huge hazard for the environment, as its global warming potential (GWP) is 23,500 times higher than that of CO2 gas. The company Hitachi ABB Power Grids developed the AirPlus™ technology, which replaces the SF6 gas with a carbon dioxide (CO2) based gas mixture. The presented degree project has evaluated the feasibility of reducing the use of SF6 through the AirPlus™ technology and then developed a strategy for the company Hitachi ABB Power Grids for the market introduction of the eco-efficient LTA 420 kV circuit breaker. This study covers the background research, market evaluation, and market strategy.  It was done through research about the AirPlus™ technology and its competitors, so as qualitative and quantitative analysis of the LTA 420 kV circuit breaker implementation in the market. In conclusion, the study shows that the market introduction of the LTA 420 kV circuit breaker is feasible. Although CO2 is not as good an insulation medium as SF6, it is still good and presents strong customer benefits: GWP reduced by over 99.9%, compliance with new regulations, lower cost of ownership, fewer regulatory controls, reduced cost of handling the gas, and well-functioning at extremely low temperatures. The main concerns for Hitachi ABB Power Grids are related to market competition. Thus, it is advisable that the company works on an effective market introduction to assure a large market share.

El documento digital no refiere asesor<br>En el presente estudio se evaluó la correlación de dos metodologías, la cromatografía de alto rendimiento (HPLC) y la tubidimetría en la medida de la hemoglobina glicosilada en 102 pacientes de la consulta externa de Endocrinología del Hospital Nacional Edgardo Rebagliati Martins – EsSALUD. Se encontró que el 54.9% de pacientes (56) presentaron una edad de 56 a 75 años; el 28.4% (29 pacientes) tuvieron más de 76 años de edad. Además se observó que el 53.9% de pacientes (55) fueron del sexo femenino y el 46.1% (47 pacientes) fueron del sexo masculino. El promedio de la hemoglobina glicosilada por el método cromatografía líquida de alto rendimiento del analizador d-10 (Biorad) fue de 8.07% y por el método turbidimétrico por el modular Hitachi (Roche) fue de 8.01. Al aplicar la prueba de t de Student no se encontró diferencia significativa en los valores de hemoglobina glicosilada en los pacientes evaluados (p>0.05). En cuanto la correlación esta fue altamente significativa entre la hemoglobina glicosilada por el método cromatografía líquida de alto rendimiento del analizador d-10 (Biorad) y por el método turbidimétrico por el modular Hitachi (Roche) (p<0.01). Mediante las pruebas diagnósticas de diabetes mellitus por método cromatografía líquida de alto rendimiento del analizador d-10 (Biorad) y por el método turbidimétrico por el modular Hitachi (Roche) presenta una sensibilidad de 95.35% especificidad de 96.67%, Índice de validez de 96.12%, valor predictivo positivo 95.35%, valor predictivo negativo de 96.67%.<br>Trabajo académico

This diploma thesis is concerned with possibilities of patient data transfer from a pacemaker or implantable cardioverter-defibrillator to physician over GSM. Theoretical part describes options of data transfer in GSM networks, data appropriate for sending and a structure of message is proposed. A device, that is able to send medical data in a form of SMS messages is designed and constructed. The device uses a Freescale MC68HC908GP32 microcontroller, character display with a Hitachi HD44780 controller and a cell phone Sony CMD-J70. The program for microcontroller is written in assembler for HC08. For tabular view of received messages, an application software for PC was created.

Abstract:
<p>Oxygen-diluted Combustion (OdC) technology has evolved from the concept of Excess Enthalpy Combustion and is characterized by reactants of low oxygen concentration and high temperature. Recent advances in this technology have demonstrated significant energy savings, high and uniform thermal field, low pollution, and the possibility for downsizing the equipment for a range of furnace applications. Moreover, the technology has shown promise for wider applications in various processes and power industries.</p><p>The objectives of this thesis are to analyze the thermodynamic aspects of this novel combustion technology and to quantify the enhancement in efficiency and heat transfer inside a furnace in order to explore the potentials for reduced thermodynamic irreversibility of a combustion process and reduced energy consumption in an industrial furnace. Therefore, theoretical and experimental investigations were carried out.</p><p>The 2nd law of thermodynamics analyses of OdC systems have been carried out for cases in which the oxidizer is either oxygen (Flameless-oxy-fuel) or air (High Temperature Air Combustion, HiTAC). The analyses demonstrate the possibilities of reducing thermodynamic irreversibility of combustion by considering an oxygen-diluted combustion process that utilizes both gas- and/or heat-recirculation. Furthermore, the results showed that an oxygen-diluted combustion system that utilizes oxygen as an oxidizer, in place of air, results in higher 1st and 2nd law efficiencies.</p><p>Mathematical models for heat regenerators were developed to be designing tools for maximized heat recovery. These models were verified by heat performance experiments carried out on various heat regenerators.</p><p>Furthermore, experiments were performed in a semi-industrial test furnace. It was equipped with various regenerative burning systems to establish combustion and heat transfer conditions prevailing in an industrial furnace operating based on HiTAC. The tests were carried out at seven firing configurations, two conventional and five HiTAC configurations, for direct and indirect heating systems.</p><p>Measurements of energy balance were performed on the test furnace at various configurations in order to obtain the 1st law efficiency. Moreover, local measurements of temperature, gas composition, and heat fluxes in the semi-industrial test furnace were performed to find out the main characteristics of HiTAC flame and the effects of these characteristics on the heating potential, i.e., useful heating in the furnace. In the case of HiTAC, these measurements showed uniformities of chemistry, temperature, temperature fluctuation, and heat fluxes profiles. The values of fluctuations in temperature were small. The high speed jets of the fuel and air penetrated deep into the furnace. The fuel gradually disappeared while intermediate species gradually appeared in relatively high concentrations and at broader regions inside the furnace. These findings indicate: a large reaction zone, low specific combustion intensity in the flame, low specific fuel energy release, and high heat release from this large flame. In addition to the thermodynamic limitations to the maximum temperature of the Oxygen-diluted Combustion, the low specific energy release of the fuel and the high heat release from the flame to its surroundings cause this uniform and relatively moderate temperature profile in a HiTAC flame, consequently suppressing thermal-NO formation.</p><p>Heat flux and energy balance measurements showed that heating potential is significantly increased in the case of HiTAC compared to that in the conventional case, implying much more energy savings than the apparent heat recovery from the heat regenerators, and consequently much less pollutants emissions. Therefore, it is certain that this large HiTAC flame emits more thermal radiation to its surroundings than the conventional flame does, in spite of the moderate-uniform temperature profile of the flame. This intense heat flux was more uniform in all HiTAC configurations, including the indirect heating configuration, than that of the conventional-air combustion configuration.</p>

Στην αρχή, αναλύουμε κάποιες μεθόδους προσωπικού προσδιορισμού. Στη συνέχεια, αναφερόμαστε στη μέθοδο Hitachi και στις αρχές που την διέπουν. Κατόπιν, εξάγουμε τον αλγόριθμο της κορυφογραμμής και τον εφαρμόζουμε σε δεδομένες φωτογραφίες. Παραθέτουμε τα συμπεράσματα και τις παρατηρήσεις μας. Τέλος, στο παράρτημα εκθέτουμε το σύνολο του αλγορίθμου γραμμένο σε κώδικα MATLAB.<br>This study focus on the extraction of vein pattern from human fingers images with the use of an algorithm ridge. Firstly, we analyze certain methods of personal definition. Secondly, we make a reference to the method Hitachi and the principles is governed by. Then, we extract the algorithm ridge and we apply it on certain images. We cite our conclusions and comments. Finally, in the Appendix we present an overview of the algorithm using the MATLAB code.

The acquiring intentions of Hitachi are: 1) increase the revenue in China. 2) acquire more market shares of elevator in China. 3) make Hitachi’s product line more completed. 4) decrease the number of competitors in China. 5) expand Hitachi’s operation scale and achieve economic scale. 6) acquiring Yungtay is helpful for their maintenance business. 7) Hitachi is familiar with Yungtay’s operation. 8) Hitachi can benefit from the appreciation of Yungtay’s real estate. After normalizing Yungtay’s earning forecast and adding increment of real estate, the reasonable acquiring price is 70.58 per share which is higher than the acquiring price of NT$65 per share from Hitachi. If Hitachi get the control right of Yuntay, it can sell valuable real estate and earn NT$5 per share increment. This also can explain the reason why market party was not satisfied with the Hitachi’s acquiring price. Although board of director of Yungtay rejected the due diligent request from OTIS. As long as OTIS hand in its application form to Financial Supervisory Commission, it could still do tender offers. The last issue is that Hitachi lowered down their acquiring ratio and the board of director didn’t refute their proposal. The director may not exercise the due care of a good administrator. This article summarizes reasons why the company would be acquired. We expect to use case study and extend to general term. In Taiwan, most of the companies are small and medium enterprises and hidden champions. This type of company is usually the acquired company. This article tends to provide acquiring and acquired firm some aspect when conducting a M&A, including the value of asset, equity concentration, operation condition.

Eventually, this result could be as a marketing guide for air- conditioners’ promotion in the future. In this era that consumers pursue after personalized, differentiated products, and brand power is taken as the most competitive, effective asset, product function is no longer the only issue that would influence the consumer’s behavior. Brand, becomes another important variable. Brand equity covers the whole conception and attitude that consumer holds to a brand. How to establish higher brand equity is now a critical issue to every brand managing executives. The research in question is conducted on the consumers of Hitachi Company with a total of 250 copies, of which 208 responds are deemed as successful. The questionnaire contains personal data, mass measurement of the product, measurement of decision of consumer, measurement of equity of brand and measurement of consumer’s willingness to buy the product. Eventually, the questionnaire undergoes the analysis using the SPSS 14.0 software package as means for the research, which includes descriptive statistics, t examination, single-factor variable analysis, and regressive analysis for a statistical analysis. By means of a study analysis based on a questionnaire, our efforts are focused on the differences and links among consumers of various backgrounds when dealing with quality of a product, decision of consumer and equity of brand. Accordingly, we proposed suggestions on the results of the research expecting to see them be taken by the industry and follow-up researchers for reference.
