Abstract:
Indecent Theology has provided both Feminist Theology and Liberation Theology with new contours for rethinking bodies, power, dominance, and submission. With regard to the logic of dominance that radically pushes the margins of the margins into a form of inexistent living, I suggest a material turn to rethink the contours that are evoked with Indecent Theology. Materialism has long stood as a philosophy opposing the overwhelming dominance of language and the poststructuralist emphasis that has emerged as the ‘linguistic turn’. Considering ‘new materialism’ as a theoretical platform to reread I

Free speech and media freedoms were reinforced in Ghana with the repeal of the Criminal Libel Law in 2001. As a result, the citizen’s voice, which was hitherto muted, has grown louder as Ghanaians feel emboldened to contribute to national discourse in the media (especially local language radio programmes) without fear of the Criminal Libel Law. However, concerns have been raised about indecent language which has become pervasive in the Ghanaian media. This study examined indecent language on radio in Ghana. This study analyzes phraseological expressions in Kyrgyz that convey negative attitudes toward women. The research identified three main phraseosemantic groups and proved their lexicosemantic nature: expressions characterizing laziness and slovenliness, phrases condemning indecent behavior, and idioms related to infertile women. In Kyrgyz mentality, special importance is given to women's roles in the family and society, with even minor flaws evoking negative emotions. The study shows that expressions condemning indecent behavior are the most figurative. The results show that predominance phras

The article justifies the advantages of using the additional criterion of “respectable precedence” for an objective assessment of the linguistic form used in the media discourse, according to the parameter “decent / indecent”. The authors, referring to the data of modern research, notice the lack of a common understanding and unambiguous definition of indecent vocabulary, highlight the objective and subjective factors that complicate the solution of this problem, emphasize those features of the media text that make the concept of “(not) decent” linguistic form very relative. Abstract Chapter 6 returns to thematic historical controversies about advertising, to examine boundary work on the lines between advertising and so-called moral questions in the debates about gambling and indecency. These were the two areas in which uses of law came closest to conceptualizing enchantment. The theory of gambling in legislation and case law highlighted gamblers’ quasi-mystical views and ecstatic behaviours. The theory of indecency placed primacy on concepts of influence of the print object, which could draw affective responses beyond reason’s control, famously articulated in the
