Local Government Personnel in Great Britain. Local Government Service, employing the majority of local government personnel, is very distinct from the Civil Service. LGS has far more staff, which the extent of its duties readily explains. Further, it employs substantial numbers of unskilled, and a wide spectrum of skilled labourers. However, the greatest difference is that of legal status. Local authorities are independent to hire on a contract basis. However, the Local Government Act, other legislation as well as general agreements with unions and professional bodies place certain restrictions on their independence. These agreements cover hiring policy, working conditions and remuneration. LGS is currently experiencing graduai staff cuts and becoming politicised.

Abstract:
This paper examines the plight of Polish forced labourers in the Klaipėda region during World War II, shedding light on a lesser-known aspect of Nazi occupation policies. Drawing on a database maintained by the Polish Institute of National Remembrance, the author collected data on nearly 2,000 Polish individuals subjected to forced labour in Klaipėda. Through archival research and analysis of personal testimonies, the study explores the demographics, origins, working conditions, and treatment of these labourers. The occupation of Klaipada by Nazi Germany resulted in the displacement of local populations and the influx of foreign workers to meet wartime labour demands. Polish labourers, predominantly young and from economically disadvantaged regions like Ciechanów, were among those forcibly mobilized. They were subjected to harsh treatment, discriminatory laws, and often found themselves in precarious working and living conditions. The paper highlights the experiences of Polish labourers in various industries, including construction and agriculture, and examines the motivations behind their escapes from forced labour. It also addresses the sensitive issue of sexual violence against female Polish workers, which remains largely overlooked in historiography. The liberation of Klaipėda by Soviet forces in 1945 brought an end to forced labour in the region, but many labourers faced further hardships, including mistreatment by Soviet authorities. The paper concludes with reflections on the post-war reparations process and calls for further research and cross-border cooperation to fully understand the history of forced labour in the Klaipėda region and its lasting impact on affected communities.

Abstract: Background: Urbanisation and migration are interconnected. As per Census 2011, 31.16% of the Indian population was urban, whereas in Kerala, 47.72% of the total population was urban. A study conducted by Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation showed that there were 25 million migrant labourers in Kerala. The migrant labourers were facing various problems both health related and non health related. The objective of the study was to analyze the health problems, disease pattern, health care seeking behaviour and health care utilization amongst the urban in-migrant population of Kerala. Methods: It was a cross sectional descriptive study conducted among a sample of 1217 migrant labourers from the Ernakulam district of Kerala. The study followed a 30 cluster sampling method. Only those respondents having length of stay in Kerala at least six months were included in the study. The Crosstabs procedure forms two-way and multi-way tables and provided a variety of tests and measures of association for two-way tables. A binary logistic regression was done to outline the predictors of health seeking in facilities for migrant workers Findings: The study found that majority of migrant workers were belonged to backward communities, males married and engaged in construction work. The state of origin of the migrant workers were, West Bengal (35%), Odisha (19%), Tamil Nadu (16%), Assam (14%) and Uttar Pradesh, Bihar. Majority of the respondents had been staying in Kerala for duration between one to six years. Accidents and injuries, skin problems and Non communicable diseases were major health problems among the migrant workers. The logistic regression analysis showed possession of health insurance, monthly income, state of origin and easy connectivity to health facilities are positive predictors for health care seeking for migrant labourers. Conclusion: The present study revealed migrant workers were suffering from many illness like Accidents and injuries, NCD, skin problems etc. Improve the awareness of

Abstract:
This study focuses on discussing the legal ratio of ultra vires rulings by constitutional judges as a manifestation of judicial activism. The ultra vires ruling has created a dialectic between preventing rechtvacum to uphold constitutional justice and the threat of judicial autocracy because the Constitutional Court exceeds its authority as a negative law. The purpose of this study is to comprehensively describe the dialectics of affirming ultra vires decisions by the Constitutional Court in accordance with human rights based on constitutional justice, as well as to analyze the application of the ultra vires doctrine to the actions of the Directors in hiring workers/labourers with work agreements for a certain time. The research method used is normative legal research with a legal approach and a contextual approach. The results of this study indicate that ultra vires decisions by constitutional judges are an unavoidable legal necessity. This is because normatively, sociologically, and in principle they are not contradictory. Therefore, ultra vires needs to be done with methods and sources to find the right law/constitutional to prevent rechtvacuum and overlapping judges in dealing with problems that are constantly changing without destroying checks and balances and creating a mini-parliament

Inbound migration is more relevant in the scenario of India. India, the growing economy witnessing the gap between haves and have nots are alarming.  Unemployment and migration are closely interconnected. The rate of unemployment and gulf boom (after 1970) accelerated the youth migration from Kerala to Gulf countries and that caused lack of unskilled labourers especially construction workers in Kerala the jobs which need more physical efforts.Migration is primarily happening to addressing the unemployment through a better job. Among the inter-state migrants, a small minority only getting employment in formal sector. They are compelled to work which needs more physical effort and alsohazardous employment and unsafe locations. Inter-state migration leads to the economic prosperity, development of source and destination and more number of people are getting employment. Abstract:
The data collected from 20 lavender growers of three blocks of Chamba district by personal interview using multi-stage purpose sampling technique. In lavender farms share of male labour was found to be more than female labour. Working as daily paid labourers followed by farming, service and business was the main occupation of adult family members. BCR (over total variable cost) as well as BCR (over total cost) was worked out as 3.170 and 0.642 respectively for lavender crop. Family labour income and net income measures per hectare were found to be negative for lavender crop. About 95% and 25% of selected lavender farmers’ responded positively regarding availability of good quality seed/seedlings and disease problem in seed/seedlings respectively, in the initial stage of sowing of lavender crop. Besides, 90% responded that cost of marketing of produce was high, all the respondents were hiring transport to market the produce. Likewise, 65% responded that there is lack of cheap credit from banks for lavender farming. The lack of profitability indicates the need to strengthen R&D work, extension services, training of farmers, establishment of cold storage facilities, and co-operatives farming societies for enhancing prospects of lavender farming.

We at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke routinely receive questions and statements from trainees and faculty that suggest widespread beliefs about the necessity of a National Institutes of Health K99/R00 award, other prior funding, and/or specific types of publications for obtaining one’s first tenure-track position in neuroscience. To address these beliefs, we examined the funding and publication history of a cohort of investigators who began their first academic faculty position between 2009 and 2019, and we interviewed several senior academic leaders with extensive experience in hiring new faculty. Our data show that <11% of newly hired faculty had a K99/R00 award and that neither prior funding nor papers in prestigious journals were necessary to obtain a tenure-track faculty position. Interviews with academic leaders almost uniformly referred to critically important factors that were considered to be more important in the hiring process than funding or publishing in high-profile journals.

For example, in regard to research into labourers’ life styles in the 1970s, the author shows how difficult it is after years to create a cohesive whole from the scattered materials. She likens the task to putting together a puzzle. She points to the possible advantages of reusing the material, as well as the limitations a contemporary researcher encounters in attempting to make sense of it.

The number of company acquisitions in recent years has been increasing every year (Institute for Mergers, Acquisitions and Alliances, IMAA). At the same time, as research and analysis show, it is increasingly difficult to obtain employees for the organization. According to Manpower in 2016 as many as 40% of all respondents in the world declared problems in finding employees, while in 2014 there were 36% of them. There is also an increase in the value of the valuation of intangible assets. As a result of these activities, an increasingly common phenomenon of acquiring key resources to the company appeared by buying a company to acquire high-skilled employees, called acqui-hiring. The article characterizes the phenomenon on the example of global and national experience of enterprises and shows future challenges.

Abstract:
Recruitment is a process whereby a job seeker (employer) seeks to establish an employment relationship with a job applicant (worker) while attempting to minimize future risks by thoroughly evaluating the job seeker. For a long time, recruitment has been considered an area of free management behavior for employers. However, according to the Constitution, job seekers are entitled to dignity and the pursuit of happiness (Article 10), equality and protection against discrimination (Article 11(1)), freedom to choose their occupation (Article 15), public service (Article 25), the right to work (Article 32), and the right to live as a human being (Article 34). The right to equality is a fundamental norm that has the nature of a natural right and is widely applied today not only in the relationship between the state and individuals but also in the relationship between individuals and individuals. Therefore, it should be applied not only in the recruitment of employees by the state or public organizations but also in the recruitment of employees by private companies. A 2019 survey by the Korea Institute of Labor Research found that blind recruitment promotes fairness and that job competency through blind recruitment is relatively high. It is essential for our society to ensure fair recruitment opportunities, as work enables workers to make a living and realize their potential. It is our challenge to secure fairness in recruitment while selecting talented individuals with excellent job skills, and society will develop in a positive direction. Consequently, the Act on Fairness in Recruitment Procedures has been amended to expand the use of blind recruitment. While the regulations under the 「Fair Hiring Procedure Act」 may raise concerns about infringement on the freedom of business or enterprise, the public purpose of the law justifies it, even if there is some restriction on business or enterprise freedom. As a society, we must continue to discuss improvements and complementary points regarding the introduction and activation of blind recruitment. In the meantime, fairness has become a hot topic, and companies have been incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into their recruitment processes in recent years. For human resources teams, AI interviews are the best way to promote “fairness” and “objective evaluation” in hiring, in addition to saving time and money. However, AI is prone to bias and discrimination. This has resulted in various discussions and legislation in the United States and Europe to prevent bias in AI recruitment and promote fairness, transparency, and accountability. Employers who want to use AI recruitment must obtain the consent of job seekers in advance, explain how AI recruitment works to job seekers, and undergo an external audit of its fairness. As legal liability, fairness, and privacy will likely become issues in Korea due to AI recruitment in the future, it is necessary to revise the 「Fair Hiring Procedure Act」 by referring to legislative examples and actual cases in the United States and Europe to prepare for this.

The Instituto Tecnologico de Ensenada (Ensenada Technological Institute), as provider of higher education, must face at least two perspectives for the community: on one hand, graduates from the high school are looking careers as tagged as interested for them; but on the other hand, in the future they should have a hiring panorama (labor force requested in the region). The present work provides an analysis perspective from a probabilistic point of view using Markov matrices, to study whether there is a possible future congruence point which would indicate which is (are) the career(s) that university should bet as "safe". Namely, according with the historical data of new student’s vs graduates and considering that every semester involves costs offer a career that has a major probability that students do not continuous with their studies; knowing this, will allow at school to redirect their resources to another career that has this possibility; i.e., continuity in their student’s and hiring probability. Additionally, this methodology may help to other universities in the region to make decisions that will influence in the future of the entity.

Abstract:
SUMMARYAim– To investigate whether employers who have experience of hiring people with mental health problems differ significantly from those without such experience in terms of knowledge, attitudes and behaviours regarding mental health in the workplace, and the concerns which they report about employing people with mental health problems. We also examine whether non-workplace social contact is associated with the above variables. Methods– A telephone survey was conducted with a randomly selected sample of British employers. The sample included a similar number of human resource managers and managers/executive employees in other roles. Results– 502 employers took part. Having employed someone with a mental health problem was associated with closer non-workplace social contact. Those with experience of employing applicants with mental health problems had significant differences in knowledge (regarding the law), and behaviour (having a policy on hiring applicants with disabilities) but not in attitudes. Conclusions– Non-workplace social contact may be useful to consider in understanding hiring practices. The nature of social contact at work and possible lack of impact of this contact on employer attitudes and concerns warrants further study. Greater support is needed for employers to understand the law regarding mental health problems in the workplace.Declaration of Interest:The study was part funded by Big Lottery and Comic Relief through their funding of the Time to Change programme. The study was also supported by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) applied programme grant awarded to the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust. Abstract:
AbstractHow could labour be mobilized for the production of agricultural commodities in colonial lands? This question was discussed by European powers on many occasions between 1895 and 1930, within the International Colonial Institute (ICI). Three key phases and issues can be identified in these debates relating to Africa: the recruitment of Indian indentured labour (1895–1905); the recruitment and management of indigenous peoples as paid labourers (1905–1918); and the mobilization of indigenous smallholder agriculture (1918–1930). During the whole period under study, the use of constraint, and its legitimacy, appear as a permanent feature of ICI debates. Associated first with European plantations, the use of force became a means to mobilize native farmers in accordance with the conceptions of colonial administrations regarding good agricultural practices. In addition, the ICI’s vision of colonial realities evolved from an out-of-date position during the first and second phases to a forward-looking one during the third phase, albeit one quite unrealistic in the scope of its ambition.

Abstract:
This article is devoted to analyzing the theoretical basis of the institute of the employee’s employment trial. The author considers such aspects as the concept and meaning of this institute, the duration of the relevant period, its legal consequences and statutory restrictions on its application. The relevance of this topic is determined by the fact that the use of the institute of testing contributes to the balance of interests of the parties, because it provides additional opportunities for the parties to the employment contract, but in case of refusal to fulfill the prescribed norms, the possibility of applying a number of labor law guarantees is reduced. The essence of this institute is to optimize labor relations between the employee and the employer at their initial stage, which in turn guarantees the observance of the rights and legitimate interests of both parties to labor relations. When concluding an employment contract with the condition of probation, the status of such an employee in essence does not differ from the legal status of any other employee. The law regulates the peculiarities of the procedure for hiring an employee on a probationary basis, as well as a simplified procedure for termination of the employment contract during the relevant period, which contributes to the most productive cooperation of the parties to the employment contract and does not bind them with unnecessary requirements at the initial stage of labor relations. One of the most important requirements of the institution of probation is compliance with the norms on the maximum duration of the probation period, which is of fundamental importance, as it does not allow the employer to abuse the employee’s position. At the same time, the possibility of the parties to the labor contract to establish a shorter period of probation contributes to its most successful application to the peculiarities of a particular situation and gives more freedom in observing the rights and obligations of both the employee and the employer. Restricting the application of the institution of probation to certain categories of employees contributes to the balance of interests of the parties to the labor contract and protects such employees from violation of their rights by the employer.

Abstract:
Recent proposals from the National Association of States Board of Accountancy and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants aim to modify the CPA license model to reflect the knowledge and abilities that new CPAs will need both now and in the future. The Uniform CPA Examination has recently undergone its most significant modification in many years thanks to the CPA Evolution project. This article discusses the exam's revised structure and content, evaluates the anticipated effects of those changes on accounting education, and explains how colleges will need to modify their curricula to meet the new exam core Plus requirements.
Today's accountants and the accounting industry require different technical capabilities than they did even a few years ago. For the accounting profession to advance, proficiency in technology, data analytics, risk management, and IT governance are becoming crucial competencies. The joint CPA Evolution project of the AICPA and NASBA acknowledges the rapidly evolving abilities and competences needed by today's CPAs. The quick development of technical advancements, such as data analytics, robots, and artificial intelligence, among others, is significantly altering the way CPAs do their business. Additionally, this report illustrates the constraints that the COVID-19 placed on the world's environment and economy. The CPA profession is changing, and data from IPEDS and responses from participating U.S. universities and public accounting companies enable us to assess the effects of this change on both the supply and demand of new accounting. The public accounting firms have started to fill the technology and data analytics talent gaps among accounting recruits by hiring non-accounting staff, according to the AICPA's 2021 Accounting Graduate Supply and Demand Report, which includes a survey of the hiring practices of public accounting firms. According to the research, new hires of master's graduates increased by 2% in 2020, despite a 10% decline in the total hiring of new accounting graduates.

Abstract:
Introduction: The prevalence of back pain is very high in the general population but little is known about the predictors of back pain in the general population. Though certain risk factors have been associated with back pain, these are mentioned in Western literature. It is not known how much of these hold true for a developing country like Nepal. Objective: To estimate the prevalence of back pain in the Teaching Districts of B.P.Koirala Institute of Health Sciences and to identify predictors of back pain in the community. Methods: Three hundred and fourteen persons of eighteen years and above were included in this crosssectional descriptive study conducted from January 2006 to December 2009 using pretested questionnaires. Results: The annual prevalence of back pain among males (67.9%) and females (74.3%) were similar (P>0.05) and the overall annual prevalence was 71%. The highest prevalence of back pain was found in the age group of 31-40 years. Age, marriage and occupation were related significantly to the occurrence of back pain. The total duration of back pain in one year was less than 15 days in 73%. The number of workdays lost was upto 5 in 81% of people with back pain. Conclusion: Back pain is a very common complaint among the adult population in the community. Population belonging to 31-50 age group, married status and farmers and labourers are more prone to have back pain. Gender, height and weight are not associated with back pain.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.3126/hren.v10i3.7130 Health Renaissance; September-December 2012; Vol 10 (No.3);170-174

Abstract:
Purpose This paper aims to understand the factors that can determine the knowledge sharing (KS) intention and behaviour of academics in Malaysian higher learning institutes (HLIs), thus affecting academics research productivity. Design/methodology/approach The study’s respondents were 525 academics from public and private HLI in Malaysia. This study adapts theory of planned behaviour (TPB) and social capital theory (SCT) to determine academics KS intention and behaviour of academics and the factors that can influence along the KS process. Findings Results indicate that among the factors of academics KS behaviour, there are two factors that are not significant, commitment and perceived cost, while the rest showed significant results. The strongest factors are management support and social media use among academics. The result also shows that academics intention to share is explained by 62.1 per cent of the variance, while academics KS behaviour is explained by 47.1 per cent of the variance. Research limitations/implications This study shows the high intention and behaviour of sharing among Malaysian academics and suggests that academics in this country are cautious and aware of the importance of knowledge for human capital and development of nation. Practical implications This paper facilitates university in hiring academics that support KS activities. Originality/value The integration of TPB and SCT in evaluating Malaysian academics KS behaviour can eventually affect the research productivity. Furthermore, addition of several variables, such as perceived cost, facilitating conditions make this study a holistic model to predict academic research performance.

Abstract:
The Borderlands Earth Care Youth (BECY) Institute is an example of hands-on environmental education where high school students engage with restoration. BECY inspires and trains the next generation of land stewards by hiring borderland youth to restore their home watersheds. The 12-person youth crews, currently located in two rural communities just north of the U.S./Mexico border, are paid to implement hands-on restoration, utilizing science-based techniques, to return biodiversity to the landscape and urban binational communities. During its 8-year program, BECY interns have been hired to refill plummeting groundwater tables, stabilize dwindling native pollinator populations, revegetate barren landscapes, arrest erosion, link fragmented wildlife corridors, and support sustainable food systems. Each BECY crew is led by two young adults, ages 21 to 26, who are graduates of the program. Restoration projects are completed in collaboration with local conservation professionals working in careers accessible to local youth. Along with tiered near-peer mentorship, BECY crews develop leadership and team-building skills while learning critical concepts in watershed, ecosystem, and food system restoration. Youth interns graduate from the BECY crew by completing independent restoration projects and presenting a report of their project at a community graduation ceremony. Through prolonged contact with restoration professionals across the Sky Island Restoration Collaborative, BECY has bridged a gap in establishing viable restoration-based economies in multiple underserved rural border communities, with the goal of catalyzing an ethic of cross-border land stewardship for generations into the future.

Abstract:
In the United States, the employment screening process for hiring full-time faculty in higher education involves the vetting of curricula vitae, phone interview(s), and/or campus visits (Cardeiro, 2010; Shively, Woodward, & Stanly, 1999). The purpose of this research was to examine the phone interview procedure at one institute of higher education, and from there, formulate a systematic phone interviewing procedure that could be put to use at this particular university. After conducting a review of relevant literature, the researchers engaged in action research that utilized qualitative data of 10 participants who took part in the pre-interview, professional development intervention, and the post-interviews for this research project. The action research protocol involved identifying the problem to bring about a positive organizational change, selecting the needed change, implementing the proposed change, and evaluating the results of the change. Upon completion of which, three emerging themes from the collected data were determined: a) phone interview procedure and structure, b) assessment and screening procedures, c) organizational fit. This research proves to be significant because it expands the current knowledge on the topic of conducting employment phone interviews in higher education for tenure track faculty. How higher educational institution conduct faculty screening is often considered a trade secrete, resulting in other institutions unwillingness to provide information on how they conducting faculty screening (Trower, 2012). By sharing this protocol with the field, places of higher learning can begin to assess and measure their own hiring procedures, and correct practices that may be flawed, inequitable, or possibly illegal.

Abstract:
This study aimed to examine the impact of artificial intelligence on the recruitment and hiring process, focusing on challenges, opportunities, and successful examples. The present study is applied in terms of its objective and descriptive-survey in terms of its method. Research data were collected using the standard Technology Acceptance Questionnaire by Davis (1989) and a questionnaire on the impact of artificial intelligence on human resource management (designed based on previous studies). These questionnaires were distributed among 150 employees of the Sugarcane Research Institute. To determine the validity of the research instruments, content validity was assessed and confirmed by experts. The reliability of the questionnaires was calculated using Cronbach’s alpha coefficient, with values of 0.87 for the Technology Acceptance Questionnaire and 0.84 for the questionnaire on the impact of artificial intelligence on human resource management. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS and PLS software. The results of the study showed that the use of artificial intelligence in the recruitment and hiring process can lead to cost reduction, increased decision-making accuracy, and reduced human errors. Moreover, this technology, through the automation of repetitive tasks, enables managers to focus more on improving performance and developing human resources. However, some employees expressed concerns about transparency and fairness in AI-based recruitment processes. The findings indicate that artificial intelligence is an efficient tool for optimizing recruitment processes. Nevertheless, to fully leverage this technology, it is recommended that organizations adopt a hybrid approach that includes both human evaluations and intelligent technologies to enhance efficiency while addressing employee concerns.

Abstract:    “Time is valuable in today's world." E-recruitment is not just cheaper but also quicker and more efficient. E-recruitment is the process of hiring a workforce in today's globalized world, organizations must be able to thrive in a highly competitive environment. While management encompasses many fundamental areas, human resource management is the most significant. Employees are the most important resources of any institute. A Human Resource Management System handles all aspects of employees and management policies, including those that impact the workforce. Recruitment and selection are key for improving worker performance, efficiency, and productivity, leading to positive organizational results. Recruitment is more than just filling vacancies; it's about building a skilled and motivated team. It's crucial for organizations, especially in manufacturing, to use recruitment effectively to stay ahead of competitors (Daniel, 2020). E-recruitment uses the internet to find and hire candidates, making hiring faster and cheaper. It allows employers to reach many qualified candidates quickly and affordably. Job seekers benefit too, by finding updated career information online. E-recruitment is crucial for companies to attract skilled employees promptly, but they must be cautious. Traditional recruitment takes a lot of time and money due to paperwork. Online recruitment, on the other hand, saves time and money for both companies and job seekers. E-recruitment is becoming popular, with candidates sending their CVs directly to HR via email. It's still growing but offers benefits like quick access to information. This research study was to investigate the role of e-recruitment on organizational performance and productivity.

Transnsforming cooperative values by education institutions in Indonesia would encourage their graduates become the agents of exchange of social and economic lives. Qualitatively cooperative development is still beyond expectation therefore some youths have negative cooperative image. The research purpose was to gain the impacts of cooperative education applying phenomenology method and the informants were alumni of Indonesia Institute of Cooperative Management. The results show that their involvement in cooperative due to its uniqueness, an ideal system, and benefits for members and communities. As a life catalist, cooperative enables people to gain economic benefits, develop thinking paradigm and personality, broader networkings as well. Nevertheless cooperative image is still perceived negatively such as unprosfessional management, single business unit, profit oriented, Syariah contra, and political issues. Some efforts are rebranding cooperative by changing mindset through education and training of cooperative and entrepreneurship, implementing cooperative values and principles, involving youth; hiring professional manager, encouraging members in investment, activating stakeholders; and publishing positive information.

Abstract:
This article provides an insight into the state of American manufacturing through five snapshots based on research data. Two recent trends—outsourcing and digital services—have enabled manufacturers to stretch that old definition to the breaking point and made it difficult for statistics to capture the entirety of the manufacturing sector. Research and development supports better design and engineering, which add the majority of value to high-value products and the industrial processes needed to make them. Experts suggest that manufacturers are hiring people with the right skill sets. In a 2015 Deloitte Consulting and Manufacturing Institute survey, 80% of manufacturers reported a moderate or serious shortage of qualified applicants. Chinese exports have depressed entire manufacturing-oriented communities, leading to widespread unemployment and lower wages as local markets failed to adjust to this onslaught. However, it is believed that cheaper, more capable robots working with people might improve the economics of domestic production.

Abstract This article examines the inpatient care of tuberculosis patients under National Socialism and during the period of allied occupation in the district of the Oldenburg-Bremen Regional Insurance Institute [Landesversicherungsanstalt (LVA)]. After the Wehrmacht had commandeered large numbers of beds in tuberculosis sanatoria in 1939, the LVA organised a system for prioritising patients. Curative treatments were significantly reduced and many tuberculosis patients only received basic medical care. This led to a rise in more serious forms of the disease and in the numbers of terminal cases up to and beyond the end of the war. Forced labourers suffering from tuberculosis received no treatment whatsoever. This changed only following the intervention of the allied occupying powers, who otherwise left the German health care system largely unchanged.

Computer science and software engineering students and researchers are busy with their courses, in their labs, working on their studies and research - for the most part not really thinking about the impact of politics on their research. However, there are increasing restrictions on the information researchers are allowed to share with their students, and who researchers are allowed to collaborate with respect to national security and increasing concerns with China. To an increasing extent researchers are made aware at grant time. Research institutions must follow federal rules in the grant and hiring process and are conducting workshops and roundtables on issues of national security. e20638 Background: Anticancer therapies are associated with various and multiple cutaneous side effects frequently impacting patients’ quality of life and sometimes impairing treatment continuation. Some new skin syndromes and their potential relationship with drug efficacy have been the subject of hundreds of publications over the last few years. Methods: All physicians in our institution were informed by mail about the creation of a weekly consultation and the availability of an emergency call number specifically devoted to the management of adverse cutaneous reactions to anticancer agents. Patients could be referred to us from our institute or from other french institutes. All cutaneous side effects were recorded. Type, severity, and duration of symptoms were described. Imputability of the drugs was evaluated according to semiological, chronological and bibliographical criteria. Results: Over a 4 months period, 215 visits have been performed for a total of 128 patients. 169 events were reported among which 123 were considered to be imputable to the drugs. Several new cutaneous side effects were identified. Hiring a beautician and a pedicure for aesthetic complaints or hand foot skin reactions has been necessary in several cases. Causative agents were mostly targeted therapies (76.4%). Topical (n=132) or systemic treatments (n=45) were prescribed. Temporary dose reduction or treatment interruption was recommended in 18 cases (10.6%). This pilot experience was highly appreciated by both patients and physicians. It was consolidated as a permanent organization at the frontier between oncology and dermatology with the creation of an adapted case report form (CRF). Conclusions: There is a real need for dermatological management of skin side effects in a cancer institute, especially if early trials testing new agents are performed. Dedicated collaboration between oncologists and dermatologists should be promoted as well as the creation of a global skin-oriented CRF in order to facilitate international collaborations and to evaluate the impact of this dermatological management on compliance to treatment. Abstract:
The purpose of this article is the creation of a pricing model for life micro-insurance, as well as the analysis of its market potential in Brazil. In this sense, we sought to address issues relating to a biometric table used for pricing, such as the financial impact that the hiring value of this type of product reflects on family income. In addition, it is intended to expose the anti-selection risk made by the insurer, as well as the difference between the premium values for male and female genders, as women outlive men according to life tables published by the Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics). In the development of the research, the methodology adopted was an exploratory, documental study by means of a qualitative research on the micro-insurance theme, especially life insurance, as well as the elements used in the measurement of insurance. It can be concluded in this work, that the financial impact on family income is not relevant, especially when the premium is parceled monthly according to the terms of the proposed product, making it accessible.

Abstract:
The article discusses the peculiarity of second jobs, the importance of this institution in the system of labor law, as well as a comparative analysis of the norms governing second jobs. The institute of second jobs is not an innovation in the labor law of most countries. Along with the aforementioned workers, the recruitment of qualified specialists for second jobs under certain conditions has become widespread. Employment of this nature provides a unique opportunity for employees to improve their knowledge and skills in a particular area, as well as to have an additional source of income. This type of employment most often realized through combining jobs and second jobs. It is important to note that the regulator of second jobs is labor legislation, not civil law. This is primarily justified by the fact that with second jobs, it is necessary to conclude an employment contract; otherwise, this activity will not differ in any way from moonlighting under civil law contracts. Investigating the institute of second jobs, one should pay attention that it is useful mainly for workers of the above-mentioned spheres, but it also has positive points for employers too. In particular, managers of small businesses, as well as individual entrepreneurs, are in need of qualified and experienced specialists with whom it is financially beneficial to conclude a part-time employment contract. When researching this industry, the author analyzed the labor legislation of the CIS countries regarding the procedure for hiring second job employees, the documents required when applying for a job; payment of wages to them; working hours and rest hours of workers; conditions and procedure for terminating an employment contract with second job employees.

Abstract:
The most outstanding archaeologist and professor at John Casimir University in Lviv as well as and a acknowledged politician (among others the Prime Minister (1934– 1935) of the Second Republic of Poland) was Professor Leon Kozłowski (1892–1944), a student of E. Majewski from Warsaw, R.R. Schmidt from the University of Tübingen and W. Demetrykiewicz from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. As a professor of John Casimir University he cooperated with V. Gordon Childe from the UK and H. Breuil from France, the most outstanding archaeologists in Europe at that time. His publications stand out with a clear and well-argued reasoning, great dash and thorough knowledge of the materials and concepts of the time. He was also an excellent teacher of many Polish and Ukrainian archaeologists. After 1939, he was imprisoned and tortured in the Soviet Union and Germany, where he died in unknown circumstances in 1944. Among his pupils was Helena Cehak-Hołubowiczowa (1902–1979), who, with her husband Włodzimierz Hołubowicz (1908–1962), worked in the years 1931–1939 at the Stefan Batory University in Vilnius and between 1943 and 1945 they were the forced labourers in Austria. They both, since 1950, were employed at the University of Wroclaw and developed archaeology according to the ideas of Leon Kozłowski. Włodzimierz Hołubowicz developed the methodics and methodology of archaeology and Helena Cehak-Hołubowiczowa dealt with the religious beliefs of prehistoric and early medieval societies. Th ey educated many students who are now employees of the Institute of Archaeology at the University of Wroclaw, and other institutions.

"Assessing the Effect of Subsidy Removal on Cost- Significant Material and Labour within Anambra State Construction Economy." British Journal of Multidisciplinary and Advanced Studies 6, no. 2 (2025): 1–23. https://doi.org/10.37745/bjmas.2022.04253.

Abstract:
The goal of most countries is the desire to maintain a stable price level of goods and services. This however, appears to be an uphill task given the incidence of subsidy removal that is presently ravaging the developing economies of the world. The study aimed at establishing a relationship between subsidy removal and construction material, and labour prices. To achieve the aim, a survey design approach was conducted. Data was obtained in other to get the prices of the construction materials and wages paid to labourers, through quarterly prices of construction materials from Nigeria Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) published journals, Fobis International Market, and Ogidi Building Material Markets, Onitsha, Anambra State. Meanwhile, Descriptive statistics and a multiple regression model were used to analyze the data collected. It was discovered that subsidy removal in Nigeria has been far from stable, and has affected material and labor prices non-uniformly and inconsistently. Hypotheses was also postulated; results shows that there is a significant relationship between building material prices and the subsidy removal in Anambra State and that subsidy removal does affect the labour costs, wages of skilled and unskilled labour, within Awka, Anambra State. The study finally concluded that Government should also ensure a steady supply of power from the power sector as against the epileptic power supply and reduce the increase in power tariff, repair the local refineries, and focus more on encouraging the local refining of petroleum products instead of importing them in order to reduce constant increase on our domestic prices for petroleum products and consequently inflation on the materials too.

Abstract:
An organization's innovation potential is highly correlated with its ability to use its intellectual and organizational knowledge resources. Consequently, hiring high-potential individuals is one of the key issues for businesses looking to maintain a competitive advantage in the sector. However, the workforce is experiencing a demographic shift as Generation Z enters the job market in significant numbers. Given that Generation Z will ultimately dominate the workforce, this demographic shift poses a long-term challenge for businesses to understand their demands, preferences, and factors impacting their interest in applying for jobs. Additionally, establishing gender equality and increasing the involvement of women in the workforce are top recruitment goals for businesses today. In light of these circumstances, this study examines how different aspects of employer branding influence Generation Z women's intention to apply for a job and whether the person-organization fit plays a mediating role. The research employs a quantitative approach, distributing questionnaires to 335 female students of Generation Z at Bandung Institute of Technology, which will be analyzed using PLS-SEM (Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling). The findings demonstrate that within the context of Generation Z at Bandung Institute of Technology, four of the five employer branding dimensions—development, economic, application, and interest value—significantly and positively impact the intention to apply for a job. However, the study also indicates that person-organization fit does not act as a mediating variable in this regard. This research offers valuable insights to companies, allowing them to improve their existing employer branding strategies and enhance their recruiting and talent acquisition approaches. By effectively attracting, engaging, and retaining Generation Z women in the workforce, companies can foster greater gender diversity and equality in the present job market.

Abstract:
This article aims to explore the requirements for contracting consultancy services and/or legal or accounting advice under the auspices of the non-requirement of bidding in light of the New Public Tenders and Contracts Law. It seeks to highlight the precautions that must be observed by the contractor. Through the study of the laws that govern the matter, the position of the Minas Gerais Court of Auditors (TCE-MG), the doctrine and understanding of the Public Ministry on the subject, it was possible to conclude that direct hiring due to unenforceability is an exception to the sovereign rule, which is bidding. Therefore, all contracting requirements must be met concomitantly, in the same way as the “LIMPE” principles in the caput of art. 37 of the Federal Constitution must also be met together. Contracting due to the unenforceability of an object of contracting that would be considered common can be characterized as a fraud against the institute of broad competition and the penalty provided is imprisonment for the person who caused and who benefited from the illegal contracting. Furthermore, it was necessary to emphasize that the TCE-MG is not the only external control body. Other bodies, such as the Public Prosecutor's Office, are independent and may have a different understanding from another body.
