Fenolni spojevi su poželjan sastojak vina zbog njihovog dobro poznatog pozitivnog učinka na zdravlje ljudi, međutim zbog podložnosti oksidaciji, mogu negativno utjecati na boju, stabilnost te ukupnu kvalitetu bijelih vina. Sumporni dioksid, učinkovit antioksidans koji se koristi za stabilizaciju i sprječavanje posmeđivanja, izbjegava se zbog mogućeg štetnog utjecaja na zdravlje ljudi i kvalitetu vina. Stoga se koriste i istražuju druga sredstva kao npr. polivinilpolipirolidon (PVPP) i lakaza. PVPP je sintetski polimer koji veže fenolne spojeve i time sprječava njihovu oksidaciju. Nasuprot tome, enzim lakaza katalizira oksidaciju fenolnih spojeva te ubrzava nastajanje visokomolekularnih smeđe obojenih polimera koji se uklanjaju odgovarajućim postupcima filtracije vina. Na taj način se sprječava naknadna oksidacija fenolnih spojeva te posmeđivanje i zamućenje vina. S tim u vezi cilj istraživanja bio je ispitati utjecaj tretmana PVPP-om ili lakazom na fizikalno-kemijska svojstva (udjeli etanola, ukupnog ekstrakta, hlapljivih i nehlapljivih kiselina, pH-vrijednost, intenzitet boje), senzorsku kvalitetu i koncentraciju pojedinih skupina fenolnih spojeva (flavonoidi, neflavonoidi, kondenzirani tanini, leukoantocijani) bijelog vina Laški rizling. Finalizacija netretiranog (kontrolnog) vina i vina tretiranih PVPP-om odnosno lakazom provedena je ultrafiltracijom. Odabrani uvjeti tretmana, provjereni su brzim testiranjem u laboratorijskim uvjetima: aroma je u vinu ostala nepromijenjena, a masena koncentracija koloida je smanjena. Stoga su isti uvjeti tretmana primijenjeni u industrijskom mjerilu te uglavnom nisu značajno utjecali na fizikalno-kemijska svojstva, a poboljšali su senzorsku kvalitetu tretiranih vina. Smanjili su koncentracije svih skupina fenolnih spojeva i rezultirali manjim intenzitetom boje tj. svjetlijom bojom tretiranih od kontrolnog vina. Dobiveni rezultati ukazuju na prikladnost PVPP-a i lakaze u postupcima očuvanja boje i kvalitete bijelog vina Laški rizling.

Na području Gornjeg Međimurja kultura jabuke ima dugu i slavnu tradiciju. U uzgoju je proširen velik broj domaćih i udomaćenih sorti. Tome su pridonijeli povoljni ekološki uvjeti i širenje sortimenta iz Republičkog voćno-loznog rasadnika Vukanovec. Za oplemenjivanje jabuke potrebno je imati bogatu germoplazmu i poznavati biološka i gospodarska svojstva sorti. U radu se iznose rezultati istraživanja kemijskog sastava i kvalitete plodova 40 sorti. Istraživanja su obuhvatila: suhu tvar, topivu suhu tvar, ukupne šećere, ukupne kiseline, pH vrijednost i ocjenu kvalitete po Thiault indeksu. Od sorti su obuhvaćene: Ananas reneta, Baumanova reneta, Batulemka, Bijela zimska tafetica, Bjeličnik, Blenheimska, Bobovac, Boskoop, Božićnica, Cox's orange, Crvena jesenska rebrača, Danciška rebrača, Funtača, Golden Delicious, Gravenstein, Harbertova reneta, Jonathan, Kanadska reneta, Kaselska reneta, Krivopeteljka, Landzberška reneta, Laška trdika, London pepping, Ljepocvjetka, Mašanka, Ontario, Ovčji nos, Parker pepping, Ramburka, Red Delicious, Ribston pepping, Siva francuska reneta, Siva jesenska reneta, Starking, Stožerka, Šampanjska reneta, Šarlamovski, Zeleni štetinac, Zlatna zimska parmenka, i Željeznika. U odnosu na: suhu tvar (%), topivu suhu tvar (%), ukupne šećere (%), količinu kiseline (g/l) i Thiaultov indeks podijeljene su sorte u skupine. Najveću suhu tvar (iznad 17%) imaju sorte: Blenheimska, Boskoop, Harbertova reneta, Kanadska reneta, Parker pepping, Ribston pepping, Siva francuska reneta i Siva jesenska reneta. Najveću topivu suhu tvar (iznad 15%) imaju sorte: Baumanova reneta, Harbertova reneta, Kaselska reneta, Landzberška, Bobovac, Ljepocvjetka, Božićnica, Danciška rebrača i Batulemka. Najviše šećera (od 13 - 15%) sadrže sorte: Blenheimska, Siva jesenska reneta, Siva francuska, Ribston pepping, Parker pepping, Boskoop, Kanadska reneta, Harbertova reneta, Ljepocvjetka, Zlatna zimska parmenka, Golden Delicious i Mašanka. Najviše kiseline (preko 7 g/l) sadrže sorte: Bjeličnik, Ontario, Boskoop, Crvena jesenska rebrača, Kanadska reneta, Laška trdika, Mašanka i Stožerka. Najbolju kvalitetu (Thiault indeks iznad 170) imaju sorte: Ribston pepping, Siva jesenska reneta, Parker pepping, Boskoop, Siva francuska reneta, Kanadska reneta i Crvena jesenska rebrača.

Abstract The territory of the Posavje Folds offers many geotourism potentials reflecting in particular in rich mining heritage. For a long time, local communities have considered them mainly in the context of local problems, but nowadays we may see individual examples of successful revitalization of cave chambers and mining structures. All that has given rise to fantastic stories about the mining wealth of the underground world and the mining heritage interpreted with modern approaches and new findings. In addition to managers and heritage owners, the revitalization process also includes scientists, artists, architects and educators who, each in their own way, contribute to a holistic perspective of the values of the past in light of contemporary understanding of this type of heritage. As a result, the territory has witnessed the revitalization of the medieval lead and silver mine Padež pri Laškem, the former Laško coal mine machine room, which was transformed into the Strojnica Gallery, and the polymineral mine Sitarjevec within the last five years. All mentioned examples are cases of abandoned mining activities with long-lasting mining tradition, which left an imprint in the area in terms of the diverse social structure of the population and in terms of town development, which also allows us to evaluate from a distance the contribution to the construction of the railway between Vienna and Trieste, which put these towns on the European map of centres of industrial significance in the mid-19th century. Trains that still connect the Austrian capital with the Adriatic coast may in future, in light of sustainable green tourism, attract curious guests to stop and linger a while, which is the ultimate goal of the attempts of local communities to revitalise mining heritage. Meanwhile, the goals set can only be realised with the help of new and attractive tourist products that reflect own creativity related with tradition ranging from design ideas, music events, art installations, popular science evenings; in short, with contents that are suited to visitors of all ages.

In 2002, severe vein yellowing and partial or complete yellowing of leaves was observed on some shoots of red raspberry (Rubus idaeus) cvs. Golden Bliss and Autumn Bliss. Sap of infected plants of cv. Golden Bliss was inoculated onto Chenopodium quinoa and Nicotiana benthamiana. Faint chlorotic spots were observed on inoculated leaves of C. quinoa approximately 14 days after inoculation but no systemic symptoms appeared. No symptoms were observed on N. benthamiana. Raspberry bushy dwarf virus (RBDV) was detected in the original raspberry plant using double-antibody sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (DAS-ELISA) with polyclonal antiserum (Loewe Biochemica, Sauerlach, Germany). Systemic infections of inoculated C. quinoa and N. benthaminana were confirmed using DAS-ELISA. In 2001 and 2002, unusual virus symptoms were observed on grapevine grafts (Vitis vinifera) of cv. Laški Rizling. Symptoms appeared as curved line patterns and yellowing of the leaves. No nepoviruses were found in symptomatic plants, but RBDV was confirmed using DAS-ELISA. RBDV infection was later confirmed in grapevine cv. Štajerska Belina with similar symptoms. RBDV was transmitted mechanically from grapevine to C. quinoa where it was detected by immunocapture-reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (IC-RT-PCR). IC-RT-PCR was used to amplify a part of the coat protein gene of the virus from raspberry and grapevine, and the amplification products were sequenced (1). The obtained sequence shared at least 93% nucleotide sequence identity with other known RBDV sequences, which confirmed the serological results. To our knowledge, this is the first report of the natural occurrence of RBDV in grapevine and also of RBDV infection of red raspberry in Slovenia. Reference: (1) H. I. Kokko et al.
