Abstract:
Laxmmarayan Institute of Technology, Nagpur University, Nagpur-440 010 Manuscript received 28 July 1986, revised 12 December 1986, accepted 22 April 1987 Copper(II) forms a green coloured chloroform extractable complex with N-m-tolyl-p-methoxybenzollydroxamic acid (TMBHA) The absorption maximum of the complex is at 510 nm. The method is simple, rapid and employed for the determination of copper in some of its common alloys such as brass, bronze and german silver. A characterisation of mid complex of copper with TMBHA is also discussed.
