Methyl α-[(4-oxoquinazolin-2-yl)thio]acetate (4) is one of the important heterocyclic compounds. It isused as a precursor to synthesis new derivatives of quinazolin-4-one moiety. The compound (4) was synthesized via a series of steps from anthranilic acid. The anthranilic acid was converted to its methyl ester (1) by esterification with methanol under acidic condition. The ester (1) was reacted with chloroacetyl chloride to produce methyl α-chloroacetamido benzoate (2). Abstract The compositions of zinc composite coating, which shows good heat resistance and high corrosion resistance was investigated with the use of different coatings coated on electrogalvanized steel with various coating solutions containing different kind of metal chloride compounds. Corrosion performance of the respective coatings was evaluated by salt spray test after heating. As a result, the coating with magnesium compound showed highest corrosion resistance after heat treatment at 300°C for 5 hours. Further, the relationship between heat resistance and solubility of compound of chromium

Full text
Abstract:
In this project it was found that the activation of the mechanism of resistance in avocado fruits to Colletotrichum gloeosporioides depends on the increase of the level of the preformed antifungal diene. This increase is regulated by the synthesis of the flavonoid epicatechin present in the fruit peel. Epicatechin is an inhibitor of the enzyme lipoxygenase whose activity catalyze the breakdown of the antifungal diene. Increase in epicatechin concentration inhibits the breakdown of the antifungal compound and since the compound is continuously synthesized, both combined processes result in the

Abstract:
Developing new and improved rubber compounds to meet increasing demands for application specific product properties requires detailed knowledge of material properties to be able to predict the processing behavior. Therefore, rheological material properties, which are traditionally determined using the high-pressure capillary rheometer (HPCR) are of crucial importance. Rubber compounds often exhibit flow anomalies and non-isothermal effects, influenced by the compound ingredients and processing parameters that are generally neglected in rheological studies and simulations. Chemical signaling between beneficial or pathogenic bacteria and plants is a central factor in determining the outcome of plant-microbe interactions. Pectobacterium and Dickeya (soft rot Erwinias) are the major cause of soft rot, stem rot, and blackleg formed on potato and ornamentals, currently with no effective control. Our major aim was to establish and study specific bacterial genes/proteins as targets for anti-virulence compounds, by combining drug design tools and bioinformatics with experimental work. The approach allowed us to identify and test compounds (small molecules) that specific

Command detonation (i.e., static firing) provides a method of testing munitions for their postdetonation residues early in the acquisition process. However, necessary modifications to the firing train and cartridge orientation raise uncertainty whether command detonation accurately represents residue deposition as it occurs during live-fire training. This study col-ected postdetonation residues from live-fired 60 mm IMX-104 mortar cartridges and then compared estimated energetic-compound deposition rates between live fire and prior command detonations of the same munition. Abstract:
As the most widely used construction material, concrete is very durable and can provide long service life without extensive maintenance. The strength and durability of concrete are primarily influenced by the initial water-cement ratio value (w/c), and the curing condition during the hardening process also influences its performance. The w/c value is defined as the total mass of free water that can be consumed by hydration divided by the total mass of cement and any additional pozzolanic material such as fly ash, slag, silica fume. Once placed, field concrete pavements are routinely cured with
