Abstract:
Abstract Background: India has launched many initiatives to achieve Universal Health Coverage, despite there exist gaps in oral health-care need and service delivery. Especially in tribal areas, due to the prevalence of risk factors as well as the lack of accessibility and affordability for health-care services, oral diseases remain unidentified and untreated. Therefore, the present study aims to assess the needs and design an implementation plan for sustainable and culturally acceptable oral health-care delivery in one of the tribal blocks of Mokhada in the state of Maharashtra, Western India. Methodology: The study included participants above 18 years of age and adopted a co-design approach. Data collection methods consisted of a short-form survey and focused group discussion. Convenient and purposive sampling methods were used to select participants for quantitative and qualitative data collection, respectively. Quantitative data analysis was performed using the STATA 16 tool, whereas thematic analysis was performed for the qualitative data. Need assessment led to the design of implementation by engaging multiple stakeholders. Results: A total of 2008 adults participated in the survey with a mean age being 37.7 years. 52.4% of participants were male. Out of 2008 screened, 83.2% were found to have at least one oral disease and a high prevalence of tobacco consumption (42%). Barriers of oral healthcare-seeking behaviour were addressed in the proposed model of care. Accordingly, a twice-a-week functional comprehensive oral care health-care model was integrated into the already existing health center of a community led development organization and portable mobile dental unit were planned with the support of multiple stakeholders. Conclusion: The study demonstrates the feasibility of delivering oral healthcare through integration into primary healthcare and multiple stakeholder engagement.

Abstract:

Aphids or plant lice are serious pests of various crops including rose. They damage leaves directly by sucking cell sap and indirectly by excreting honeydew, which encourages sooty mold growth. This direct and indirect damage affect plant growth and development. Beetles from family Coccinellidae feed on these aphids and reduce their population in the crop field. The present study was conducted to estimate the feeding efficacy of predatory beetle, Coccinella septempuctata on rose aphid, Macrosiphum rosae in rose garden at tehsil Mokhal Sandhuan, district Gujranwala, Pakistan. Observations on selected rose plants were made for 30 minutes during dawn and dusk in the month of March 2019. Foraging of C. septempunctata on prey species of aphid was observed on different parts of rose plant (upper and lower quadrats). Abstract:
The main objective of the article is to draw the connections between superhero comics and myths. Much attention is given to the comparative analysis of the image of the hero (Hercules and Superman) as well as the «superhero tale» (E. Mokhova methodology) and the problem of cause-and-effect issues and time itself. Scientific novelty of the article lies in the usage of semiotic (U. Eco) in order to bring closer the consequential visual art and the aspects of the myth. In conclusion, it is evident that the storytelling model, the image of the hero, constancy of fiction world and static time are among the chief features of the superhero comics as a new myth.

Abstract:
This article is devoted to the analysis of documentary fiction based on the material of the story “The Monk of Mokha” by a contemporary American writer Dave Eggers. The purpose of the study is to identify methods of implementing and synthesizing documentary and artistic codes in this work, as well as to determine the main functions of such a synthesis in the conceptual and thematic structure of the story. The study of factual and fictional narratives’ components in the story under consideration has shown that the factual narrative is determined by the author’s concern for authenticity, accuracy and truth, which is revealed through the following elements: using the names and descriptions of real geographical objects, depicting the typical attributes of the era, presenting historical facts and real-life events of our time, portraying real persons as characters. Fictional components include special forms of real facts interpretation: the author’s mode of narration, special narrative strategies, imaginative expression of ideas and themes, using various stylistic means and devices. As a result of such contamination, the author creates a certain model of artistic reality which is based on documentary materials.

The laboratory works: different concentrations of Alcoholic crude extracts from Khaya senegalensis (Mahogany), Boscia senegalensis (Mokhait), and Acacia nubica (La’ot) barks were prepared. The Field work: The interviews carried out during June 2006 in Zalingei area - Central Darfur State - western Sudan. The results of the interviews showed that farmers use several native plants for the solution of pest problem; these plants are naturally distributed in the area year round and handy to the farmers. This is one of the reasons that encouraged farmers to use these plants. A field experiment was conducted for two successive seasons (2017/ 2018) and (2018/2019) at the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Khartoum – Shambat. Three different concentrations were compared with the negative control and positive control to study the effect of bark extracts on whitefly in Okra plant. The results justified need for further research on effect of the three plants species extracts against pests with an emphasis on more investigation to identify and determine their modes of action, stability and persistence etc... to develop the most effective components of the extracts to enable their use in Integrated Pests Management program.

Abstract:
This study aims to assess and evaluate the quality of Abdullwahab Al-Maqaleh's Translation of idiomatic expressions and culture-bound Terms of Dave Eggers's Novel "The Monk of Mokha" by using House's (2015) Translation Quality Assessment Model. The descriptive analytical methodology is used in this study. The analysis is divided into two sections. The first section analyzes the source text and target text according to their register and genre. The analysis of the source text and target text shows a number of mismatches and errors (overtly erroneous errors) along these dimensions. The second section categorizes the related overt errors into five categories: not translated, slight change of meaning, significant change of meaning, breach of the target language system, and creative translation. The study shows that the target text has many mismatches at the level of field, tenor, and mode, such as lexical and syntactic mismatches. It reveals that many cultural terms were translated literally and did not reflect the intended meaning of the source text.

Abstract:
Drug abusers bear full criminal responsibility for the crimes they commit, as it requires full punishment is not mitigated; no presuppose claim is made that his drugs use is an admissible excuse to describe the intentional and make it just a mistake, for lack of full cognition and proper intent, this is contrary to what has been rooted in the research; both teams of religious scholars agree that punishment is necessary for him/her. For those who say that he/ she is under the legal age or they don't have a mental health, the punishment is merited by the causes and the speech of " wada' " not speech of “taklef”, for a rebuff and deter and for Public interest. Regarding the opinion of whome say he/she above the legal age and have a good mental health as well as speachable (mokhatab), did not make his/her mistake a rebuttle and reduced Suspicion, even his/ her guilt explained by intention or mistake; punishment is desirved; for justice and public interest. It is not logical to shed innocent blood people and the abuser is exempted because in this case there is an encouragement for drugs abusing as well as opened the door wide for criminals to take drugs before committing crimes; as drugs abuse gives them a cancellation of criminal responsibility. The availability of the element of victimization, and the harm to the integrity of the body of another person, is need of taking the responsibility and criminal liability.

Abstract:
Abstract This essay examines the manner in which Dave Eggers’s recent work of literary nonfiction, The Monk of Mokha (2018), sets out to amplify the voices of the marginalized by chronicling the adventures of a young Yemeni-American in search of the best coffee in the world. This takes the protagonist from the infamous neighborhood of his birth in San Francisco, “a valley of desperation in a city of towering wealth,” to his trials and tribulations in the war-torn homeland of Yemen. I will argue that the narrative, which blurs the lines between fiction and nonfiction and combines history, politics, biography and thriller, highlights the American entrepreneurial zeal and contagious exuberance which still feed the immigrant American Dream and proves that social mobility in the United States is still attainable, sometimes as a result of chasing the world’s most dangerous cup of coffee. Moreover, I argue that the protagonist’s endeavor can be read within the larger context of contemporary political consumption as an example of social justice activism and ethics-driven buying.

Abstract:
The present study presents an overview on floral diversity and identifies Non-timber Forest Products (NTFP) that can be used as Natural Dye sources in textile sector. This was a descriptive study; Historical, as well as current data was collected through surveys and interviews. Individual and focus group interviews with tribal members were conducted to gather information regarding details of forest proximity. This collective study indicates that the Aravalli hill ranges constitute the most dominant hilly area of Rajasthan. Most of the forests are over the hilly areas i.e. in Udaipur, Rajasamand, Kota, Baran Sawai Madhopur, Chittorgarh, Sirohi, Bundi, Alwar, Jhalawar and Banswara districts, which make up for about 50 per cent of the forests of the state. Khakara, semal, rohida, gadha palash, mokha, marod phalli, davai, van gulab etc. are identified as red chroma, amaltash, awla, gundhi, babool etc.are identified as yellow and related chroma. Forests are major components of the earth’s natural resources and they are increasingly critical to the welfare of the economy, environment, and population. Gum products, starch products, antimicrobial resources, paper industry products may be collected from hilly forest areas and can be easily adopted at cottage level for gainful employment of tribal women.

Abstract:
Adella Wulan Septiana, Iman Setiono in this paper explain that Three phase electricity is widely used in large and home industries. However, not all industries or electricity users can enjoy three-phase resources because the installation is quite expensive. So that the use of a single phase to three phase electric converter is needed. One alternative that can be done is by making an inverter. The inverter is a hardware device that functions to convert direct current (DC) voltage into alternating current (AC) voltage. From the 220 VAC voltage enter the step up transformer then to the rectifier circuit so that the voltage generated is 380V. Then IC 555 is used as a box wave generator with a frequency output of 322.7 Hz. Then the output goes into the IC 74175 flip-flop circuit as a phase shift that produces three outputs, where each output has a high and low value with a frequency of 53.8 Hz. Output from rectifier and 74175 is used as input for IGBT drivers. Keywords: three phase electricity, shift register, flip-flop 74175, inverter.ReferencesAfrizal, Mokhamad Asrul & Ainur Rofiq. Mokha. α2-Adrenoceptors modulate NMDA-evoked responses of neurons in the superficial and deeper dorsal horn of the medulla. J. Neurophysiol. 80: 2210–2214, 1998. Extracellular single unit recordings were made from neurons in the superficial and deeper dorsal horn of the medulla (trigeminal nucleus caudalis) in 21 male rats anesthetized with urethan. NMDA produced an antagonist-reversible excitation of 46 nociceptive as well as nonnociceptive neurons. Microiontophoretic application of a preferential α2-adrenoceptor (α2AR) agonist, (2-[2,6-dichloroaniline]-2-imidazoline) hydrochloride (clonidine), reduced the NMDA-evoked responses of 86% (6/7) of nociceptive-specific (NS) neurons, 82% (9/11) of wide dynamic range (WDR) neurons, and 67% (4/6) of low-threshold (LT) neurons in the superficial dorsal horn. In the deeper dorsal horn, clonidine inhibited the NMDA-evoked responses of 94% (16/17) of NS and WDR neurons and 60% (3/5) of LT neurons. Clonidine facilitated the NMDA-evoked responses in 14% (1/17) of NS, 9% (1/11) of WDR, and 33% (2/6) of LT neurons in the superficial dorsal horn. Idazoxan, an α2AR antagonist, reversed the inhibitory effect of clonidine in 90% (9/10) of neurons, whereas prazosin, an α1-adrenoceptor antagonist with affinity for α2BAR, and α2CAR, were ineffective. We suggest that activation of α2ARs produces a predominantly inhibitory modulation of the NMDA-evoked responses of nociceptive neurons in the medullary dorsal horn.

Abstract:
Readers of PMLA Recognize 26 Broadway, in New York City, as the Headquarters of the Mla, One of the Major Hubs of Intellectual work in literary and cultural studies in North America. But in the summer of 1840, 26 Broadway was a commercial hub that connected the world of the Atlantic Ocean with the world of the Indian Ocean. Here, in the offices of the New York firm Barclay and Livingston, Ahmad Bin Na'aman, special envoy of the sultan of Zanzibar, Sayyid Said, offered for sale merchandise that had been brought to the United States from Muscat and Zanzibar. The merchandise included “1,300 bags of dates, 21 bales of Persian wool carpets and 100 bales of Mokha coffee” that had been acquired at Muscat and “108 prime ivory tusks, 81 cases of gum copal, … 135 bags of cloves and 1,000 dry salted hides” from Zanzibar (Eilts 32). The cargo had come to New York on 30 April 1840 aboard the Sultanah, a bark owned by the sultan and commanded by William Sleeman, an Englishman. Except for two Frenchmen whose identities are uncertain and two Englishwomen who had sought passage to London, where the ship was headed, most of those on board were African slaves belonging to the ship's officers and hired lascars, Muslim seamen from the lower Konkan and Malabar coasts of India who had been signed on in Bombay, where the ship had been refitted for the transatlantic voyage and from which it first embarked (3). The slaves, we are told, were dressed in garments made of coarse cotton cloth “called merikani, after the country of its manufacture” (4). In his account of the voyage of the Sultanah, Hermann Frederick Eilts writes of “the pungent vapors of cloves, gum copal and coffee (from the ship's cargo), of tar and pitch, of open-hearth cooking in deep, acrid sheep tail's fat, called ghee, of primitive shipboard sanitation and of coconut oil” (4). This account of the “first Arab emissary and the first Arab vessel to visit American shores” is a rich reminder of the historical interconnections in the world (6).

Abstract:
Taxes are the largest source of state revenue, which is IDR 1,786.4 trillion (82.5%) of the total state revenue of IDR 2,165.1 trillion which is used for public education, health, and infrastructure. However, state revenues experienced a deficit due to the unfulfilled realization of tax revenues. Tax is income for the state, but for companies, tax is a burden that must be paid which reduces the net profit generated. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of capital intensity, profitability, and financial distress on Tax Avoidance. This study uses secondary data collection techniques with observations through www.idx.co.id, non-probability sampling technique with purposive sampling method. and the analytical method used is multiple linear regression analysis method using SPSS 25.0 program. The results of this study indicate that capital intensity has sufficient evidence of a positive effect on Tax Avoidance. profitability does not have enough evidence of a positive effect on Tax Avoidance. and financial distress does not have enough evidence of a positive effect on Tax Avoidance. Keywords: Tax avoidance, Capital intensity. Abstract:
This research paper investigates the seasonal diversity of butterfly species in and around Mokhada Town, located in the Palghar district of Maharashtra, India. This study aims to document the variety and abundance of butterfly species throughout different seasons. The field surveys on butterflies were carried out in the study area three times a week for the period of nine months from June to February 2025. The results revealed a total of 63 butterfly species from 5 families. In which Nymphalidae was the richest amongst families that comprised (377 and 41%) of the total species of butterfly recorded in all three seasons in three selected areas, which was followed by Lycaenidae (199 and 21%), Pieridae (188 and 20%),Papilioninae (98 and 11%), and the Hesperiidae family was the lowest (65 and 7%), respectively. The research identifies key trends, such as higher species diversity during the monsoon and post-monsoon months, attributed to the availability of nectar-rich plants and increased moisture levels. This study highlights the potential of Mokhada as a key region for butterfly conservation, offering insights into the broader ecological significance of butterflies as bioindicators. The findings contribute to the growing body of research on butterfly ecology in India and provide a baseline for future studies on climate change impacts and biodiversity conservation in the region

Abstract:
Providing safe drinking water, sanitation and hygiene (WaSH) in geographically isolated settings is a global public health priority. Prevalence of WaSH practices among mothers and diarrhoea among their children (birth to 59 months) was studied in nine randomly selected tribal villages of Mokhada in Palghar, Maharashtra, India. A community-based cross-sectional survey among 577 mother–child pairs was performed. Participants were recruited from the anganwadi list of enrolled children through household visits. WaSH index was used for assessing WaSH practices. Well was the major (47%) drinking water source. Almost 70% treated and covered the stored drinking water. Nearly 75% of the mothers used soap for washing hands before food and 35% after defecation. Open drains and open defecation were observed in 99% and 50% of households, respectively. The median score for drinking water index was 3 (interquartile range (IQR) = 2), personal hygiene index (PHI) was 2 (IQR = 2), household hygiene index (HHI) was 2 (IQR = 1) and composite index (CI) was 6 (IQR = 2). Prevalence of diarrhoea among children was found to be 33.4% and was significantly associated with poor HHI ( p = .007), PHI ( p < .001) and CI ( p < .001). Measures to provide basic WaSH resources combined with efforts to create awareness would ensure improved WaSH practices and prevent diarrhoea.

Abstract:
In this contribution I revisit the ubuntu jurisprudence of the South African Constitutional Court. After analysing the various critiques of the ubuntu reasoning of this court, I offer below a careful reading of three recent cases, namely Khosa v Minister of Social Development (2004 6 SA 505 (CC)), Port Elizabeth Municipality v Various Occupiers (2004 12 BCLR 1268 (CC)) and Dikoko v Mokhatla (CCT62/05) in order to decipher to some extent the Court’s vision of a constitutional community of “belonging together” post-Makwanyane (see S v Makwanyane 1995 3 SA 391 (CC)). In particular I explore the singular judgments of Justices Sachs and Mokgoro in order to illustrate how it is possible to assess their attempts to think the law and post-apartheid community differently as a reflection of something truly new.

Abstract:
Gas hydrates pose one of the major flow assurance problems in natural gas production, field processing, and distribution. In order to militate against the costly intervention and the downtime resulting from treating hydrates, it is expedient to have an effective strategy of predicting the conditions at which they are formed. Various methods have been used in time past to predict hydrate formation conditions; such includes the vapour-solid equilibrium ratio as proposed in the Katz gravity method, the John modified k-factor method, and empirical correlations. In this study, a systematical approach is used to carry out a comparative analysis of existing correlations for predicting hydrate formation conditions, and to determine the suitable method to apply for different gas specific gravities and operating scenarios. Comparing the experimental value of temperature and the values generated from each of the different correlation used, shows that the Towler and Mokhatab correlation (regarded herein as T&M) showed a very high level of accuracy for all range of specific gravity and at temperatures below 60oF.

Abstract:
Abstract The recent Syrian uprisings have impacted all sectors of life and played a major role in redrawing internal boundaries among different groups in Syria, not only between Kurds and Arabs but also within the fabric of Kurdish life. Among Syrian Kurds, calls for militarization and separation based on national chauvinism (Qasad) are countered by more moderate voices warning of the dangers of escalation and calling for Kurdish civilian rights within the Syrian homeland. Jan Dost is a Syrian–Kurdish writer whose literary oeuvre includes poetry books, numerous translations from and to Kurdish, and twelve novels, some of which have been translated into Turkish, Arabic, Sorani, Persian, and Italian. His criticism of what he calls “Kurdish fascism” prompted this interview, which is part of my current doctoral research on internal dissent in modern Middle Eastern narratives that negotiate the failure of “nationalism” in building modern states. Dost was born in Kobani in 1966 and has been living in Germany since 2000. His novel Mokhatat Petersburg (Petersburg Manuscript, 2020) was longlisted for the Sheikh Zayed Book Award. The interview is my translation from Arabic. It has been lightly edited for clarity and concision.

Full text
Abstract:
In ancient Iran, humans have been looking for ways to anesthetize, control, and reduce pain to perform surgeries to treat diseases, which is evident in ancient scientists’ medical and nonmedical works. Although modern anesthesia expanded with the introduction of ether into this process, this great success was achieved after years of suffering and with the efforts of scientists throughout history who have played an essential role in advancing this knowledge. In ancient Iran, may (wine) was one of the materials of anesthesia, as in the Avesta, and Minooye Kherad, the properties of wine as an anesthetic are mentioned. Marijuana and Haoma were also used as other substances. The creation of a “hypnotic sponge” in ancient times made general anesthesia and many surgical procedures possible in subsequent centuries. In the history of medicine in Iran, various terms such as Mokhadir (anesthetic), Monavim (sedative), Mosabbit (hypnotic), and Mosakkin (pain relief) have been used to control pain. The purpose of this research was to introduce and study the materials and methods of anesthesia and analgesia in ancient Iran. The results show that anesthesia owes its early progress in part to the works of early Iranian practitioners.

Abstract:
In the Middle East, people used the fruit and leaves of Sider or Ber (Ziziphus ‎‎spina-christi L.) as food and in traditional medicine. Out of 26 sites surveyed, it was found that Carpomya incompleta was the dominant insect in all surveyed sites that separated from fruits in trees and fallen. In only two locations, a type of weevil was recorded on fallen fruits in a minimal number (in Khawarah, Sabia), and a different kind of Lepidoptera was recorded in (Mokhtara, Samtah) in a limited number. However, the various sites recorded Braconid wasps (parasitoids used in biological control) at the end of the fruiting season. The results pointed to no more than one larva of C. ‎incompleta recorded inside the infested fruit, and no cocoons were ‎detected inside the ‎examined fruits. The infested fruits varied from 5 to 32% in the fruits in the investigated trees; meanwhile, it reached 4 to 80% in the fallen fruits. While the seasonal abundance was represented, a single peak of infestation occurred at the end of the fruiting season with late spring. The study introduced the surveyed sider plantations to investigate the distribution and fluctuations of the most dominant insects. It also evaluated insect infestations and their causes to determine the causes of economic losses in their fruiting yield in Jazan Province, Saudi Arabia.

André Mukheibir. "UBUNTU AND THE AMENDE HONORABLE – A MARRIAGE BETWEEN AFRICAN VALUES AND MEDIEVAL CANON LAW." Obiter 28, no. 3 (2022). http://dx.doi.org/10.17159/obiter.v28i3.13795.

Abstract:
The South African law of damages purports to be compensatory in nature. Although the inherent historical punitive element of the actio iniuriarum is generally recognised, the Constitutional Court has held that punitive damages have no place in South African law, because they would inter alia violate the public law-private law divide. The actio iniuriarum, the remedy for defamation, also places strain on the right of freedom to expression, because potential defendants could be intimidated by large damages awards from exercising this right. At the same time it protects the right to dignity of the individual. In the past decade the idea has been mooted by academics and also in our case law that the revival of the medieval amende honorable in our law would solve the problem of balancing the rights to freedom of expression and dignity. This remedy involves an apology by the defendant, and because with this remedy a potential defendant does not face financial ruin, his right to freedom of expression is upheld. At the same time an apology by the defendant for defamatory remarks could do much more to restore the plaintiff’s dignity than a monetary award. This note juxtaposes the African concept of ubuntu with the amende honorable, a remedy which may be traced back to medieval European canon law. In the Constitutional Court judgment of Dikoko v Mokhatla (2006 6 SA 235 (CC)) two of the judges opined that the amende honorable has a place in the South African law of defamation, and moreover, that it is fully compatible with the notion of ubuntu.
