Abstract:
Cultural diffusion is a distinctive approach to running a creative enterprise through applied creativity, shared discourse and social construction, going beyond the conventional understanding of ‘cultural production and consumption’. The concept is used to explore the social and creative processes of interaction between the creative enterprise and the audience. A framework for the analysis of creative enterprises and a set of questions based on the five processes of cultural diffusion are proposed for use by practitioners.

Abstract:
The article presents the overview of the approaches and models, which are important in determination of social entrepreneurship driving forces. The research problem is arised for getting more wide view about activities and motivation issues of social entrepreneurs in the Republic of Belarus. The research aims to examine the individual features and motives of social entrepreneurs in profile of their personality related to appropriate business models for social entrepreneurship development. The broad and narrow approaches are used to get an answer about the perspectives of social entrepreneurship in this country. The objectives of research are arised as follow: 1) define approaches of social entrepreneurs‘ for individual profiling; 2) describe the motives of entrepreneurs to start activities for social business; 3) highlight the business models of social enterprises‘ establishment. The methods of research: monographic, descriptive and meta-analysis of scientific literature. As well as the analysis of the empirical data is produced by in-depth interviews with the heads of organizations and enterprises engaged in social entrepreneurship in the Republic of Belarus (in-depth interviews were conducted in the period from 15th August to 15th November 2015, and 10 experts were involved). The key findings of research: marked a „broad“ and „narrow“ approaches for higlighting the profile of social entrepreneurs; approved the consequences that social entrepreneurs are high motivated and biased towards achieving socially beneficial purposes rather than material well-being; identified the circumstances about the existance of individual and organizational models for establishment social enterprises.

Abstract:
The features of entrepreneurship functioning in Ukraine are investigated, the main problems of enterprises functioning are outlined in the article. It is noted that entrepreneurship is the driving force of the economy, since the efficiency of the enterprises operation directly affects economic development and some life of the population. The problems of domestic business development are presented, a number of measures were proposed that would create a favorable competitive environment for business development in Ukraine. It is stated that the development and expansion of small and medium-sized businesses is one of the priorities of the state economic policy in Ukraine. The main goals of Ukrainian economic policy are the achievement of economic growth, raising the standard of population living, full employment, course stability of the national currency, achievement of foreign economic equilibrium, etc. Achievement of these goals is primarily connected with the prospects of domestic business development. The main features of entrepreneurship are described as indicating that entrepreneurship not only creates a competitive environment, but also contributes to the efficient allocation of resources, the development of scientific and technological progress and changes in the management system. The analysis of statistical data on the number of business entities during 2010-2017 is carried out in parallel with the structural analysis by types of economic activity by individual industries. The general features that are inherent in the national economy are determined, the value of the relative change in the number of economic entities is regarded. It is indicated on the problem of small business development in Ukraine, with its much more effective raise in developed countries. It is also noted that the number of large enterprises in recent years has been decreasing, which is due to the general economic crisis and in connection with the military events in eastern Ukraine, where large enterprises were mainly engaged in their business activities. Focused attention to the problems that impede the development of domestic business entrepreneurship of the regulatory imperfection and legal regulation; unregulated lending to small and medium businesses; lack of financial support from the state; unequal conditions for the management of small and large enterprises; reduction of consumer demand, aggravation of problems in the banking sector has been done. The main tendencies of entrepreneurship development in Ukraine are outlined, among which one can distinguish: provision of state support to small and medium enterprises engaged in investment, innovation and scientific and technical activities; the number limitation of permit documents and simplification of the opening procedures of enterprises; improvement of tax, statistical reporting, reduction of tax pressure on the economy; ensuring a high level of innovation activity of domestic enterprises, reducing pressure from the controlling bodies, countering corruption and a number of other measures. In Ukraine, at the present stage, there are many problems hindering the development of domestic business, the solution of which will increase the efficiency of entrepreneurial activity, will ensure the expansion of the business sector and reduce the share of the shadow sector. In the study of the peculiarities of entrepreneurship development in Ukraine, it was discovered that entrepreneurial activity is multifaceted in its content; it mobilizes active people capable, makes them constantly search for new ways of combining available resources to produce higher quality products at lower costs, while trying to maximize their own profits – get higher profits. Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine the use of income generation projects as a pedagogic method to assess students’ learning about social enterprises. The authors are interested in how and why this innovative approach might improve students’ understanding of the different aspects and attributes of social entrepreneurship. Design/methodology/approach – The study used thematic analysis of qualitative data comprising the reflective logs of 87 students on an undergraduate entrepreneurship module in a university business programme. The major attributes of social entrepreneurship were identified from a review of literature, and the paper uses the logs to judge whether students had learnt about these attributes. Findings – The results show that students developed an understanding concerning social enterprises’ diverse stakeholder environment, market needs, social enterprises’ ideological foundations, resource mobilisation processes and performance measurement – both social and financial. In addition, they developed skills in reflection and self-awareness, communication, empathy and the generation of new ideas. Research limitations/implications – The study is limited in that it focused on only one cohort of students, undergraduates. The authors cannot claim that the findings are generalisable to other students or contexts. Practical implications – Students are better able to understand the needs and values of social enterprises. However, this is a resource intensive process for educators with implications for curriculum design and management. Social implications – This study sheds new light on how experiential learning helps to raise students’ awareness of social enterprises. Originality/value – This study sheds new light on how experiential learning in the form of income generation projects helps to raise students’ awareness of social enterprises. Its value lies in helping to develop a novel and effective pedagogy for entrepreneurial learning.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to develop proposals for intensifying the development of innovative entrepreneurship in Ukraine. The importance of intensifying innovative entrepreneurship is recognized by any business entity, because new innovative ideas, solutions embodied in a particular product can provide competitive advantages. The presence of entrepreneurial initiative by business entities, the use of effective tools to stimulate innovation, creativity and effectiveness of innovation can significantly enhance innovation entrepreneurship and overall efficiency of the innovation process. The methodological basis of this work is the synthesis of general scientific methods of theoretical and empirical research (method of cognition, analysis and synthesis, generalization and systematization of information). Results. Innovative entrepreneurship covers all stages of the innovation cycle: from the initiation of a new idea to obtaining specific results from the market use of the product. The main subjects of innovative entrepreneurship can be any enterprises and organizations that carry out innovative activities or are innovatively active. To develop effective measures to intensify innovative entrepreneurship, first of all, it is advisable to focus on identifying the strengths and weaknesses of innovative entrepreneurship, as well as opportunities and threats for its intensification in Ukraine. In this sense, it is important to assess the current level of innovation process, its staffing and financial resources, the level of innovation infrastructure, the establishment of integration relations between the main participants in the innovation process, the effectiveness of innovation, demand for innovative products and more. Practical implications. The analysis allowed us to reveal certain results. The strengths of the possible activation of the innovative enterprise include: the presence of a high level of personnel component of scientific potential, which characterizes the ability to generate new ideas; accumulated experience of successful innovation, cooperation between science and business, as evidenced by the main indicators of innovation, the number of innovationactive enterprises and enterprises in industry that implement innovations. Weaknesses for the intensification of innovative entrepreneurship should be highlighted: insufficient funding for science and education; declining trends in almost all performance indicators of innovation, which requires rapid implementation of measures to curb their further development in the field of innovation. Thus, in order to intensify innovative entrepreneurship in the near future, it is advisable to implement a number of measures, the tasks of which cover the following main areas of change: clear awareness of the national economy’s ability to innovate, create conditions for new products, increase its competitiveness; ensuring diversification of sources of financing of innovative activity of enterprises in order to reduce the costs of acquisition and use of innovative products; establishing close and productive interaction of the main participants of innovative entrepreneurship. Value/originality. The use of comprehensive analysis allows to identify the main problems of hidden entrepreneurship, taking into account the specifics of its manifestation in modern conditions.

Introduction. The article clarifies that the problem of creating conditions for the entrepreneurial activity of socially vulnerable sections of the population is now becoming particularly relevant. Possibilities to reach a certain level of entrepreneurship development on the basis of a cluster organization show that the internal contradictions of the entrepreneurial process and the increased risk for its participants – socially vulnerable segments of the population are twice reflected in the behavior and activity of the latter. Therefore, the development of a new approach to activating and obtaining entrepreneurial skills allows us to formulate this new way of raising our standard of living.The hypothesis of scientific research is to determine the attractiveness of cluster entrepreneurship for socially vulnerable populations. The use of this form of entrepreneurship allows us to derive undeniable advantages of entrepreneurial activity, to define one of the most appropriate models of cluster business realization: "pushing", "pulling" or mixing.The purpose of the study is to substantiate the most appropriate model of cluster entrepreneurship for socially vulnerable groups of the population and to determine the specifics of its application.The theoretical and methodical basis – the position and conclusions of modern economic theory, methodological and methodological developments of domestic and foreign scientists on cluster entrepreneurship issues, legislative acts and institutional principles of entrepreneurial activity. Methods of economic statistics, logical analysis – to determine the factors of influence on the dynamics of entrepreneurial activity, cluster and regression analysis – to determine the most optimal models of cluster business of socially vulnerable segments of the population.Results. The scientific-methodical approach of determination of the most optimal models of entrepreneurship development on the basis of cluster organization of socially vulnerable groups of population is proposed.Conclusions. The research of the conceptual aspects of cluster entrepreneurship has made it possible to find out the theoretical understanding of the features of this toolkit and to identify the possibilities of its use for activating the entrepreneurial activity of socially vulnerable groups of the population.

The belief in market–driven ideology and the assumption that new business ventures create jobs and foster innovation has embedded entrepreneurship into political discourse. Academics have analyzed government policies on entrepreneurship, but they have tended to share the same underlying beliefs in the function of entrepreneurs within the economic machine. This article explores selected dimensions of the impact of those beliefs by using critical discourse analysis to show how government websites around the world portray entrepreneurs and their role in society. Discourses of government power and self–legitimization are revealed that manifest themselves in a colonizing discourse of entrepreneurial subjugation. The article concludes by challenging government rhetoric on entrepreneurship and questioning the motives underpinning the agenda of government involvement in supporting entrepreneurs.

Responsible innovation combines philanthropic and economic aspects and it is common to refer to entrepreneurs who lead it as “social entrepreneurs”. The present study of 100 Mexican small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), provides knowledge of an exploratory nature about what the models of organization are conducive to SMEs in the generation and development of responsible innovations. Through the statistical technique of cluster analysis, this study identified and characterized four models of organization according to the level of social entrepreneurship intentions reached: (1) “The techno-scientific organization”, (2) “The techno-social organization”, (3) “The capitalist-social organization” and (4) “The capitalist organization”. While in Europe the dominant discourse about responsible innovation focuses on the control of the risk of social rejection of the advance of science and technology. In contexts, such as the Mexicans, the phenomenon is configured as the mechanism through which entrepreneurs articulate its technological and scientific capabilities to solve priority and specific problems of the society, however, the social impact does not crucially affect their business initiatives. The techno-scientific organization (50% of studied SMEs) is proposed as the model of organization with greater viability for Mexican entrepreneurs.

Abstract:
Social entrepreneurship, as a field for research and scientific disputes between scholars and practitioners, it still remains a novel investigation area, as far as new opportunities, challenges, business approaches and concepts appear into the modern world and competitive market. This paper puts emphasis on social framework behind the development of social businesses in Moldova. Moreover, it presents the grass-root state of readiness of existing small and medium – sized enterprises from Moldova to undertake the leap towards the new kind of economy and different organizational approaches. The paper provides a content analysis of specific literature on social entrepreneurship, with particular emphasis on general perception of the small holders and small and medium – sized enterprises on social business. A total number of 593 small and medium – sized enterprises and individuals participated to organized interviews. The survey results show that 66% of the respondents are not acknowledged with social entrepreneurship concept and functionality. From those (34%) who are informed about the topic, most of them are actual young entrepreneurs. Additionally, young entrepreneurs, respondents, wouldn’t reinvest their profit for social mission (73%). Unlike young entrepreneurs, individuals would reinvest their profit in social missions, in case they have a business. These findings suggest that, in the society there is a lack of general understanding on social entrepreneurship. The author also found out that, the general perception regarding social problems is mostly assigned to public authorities instead of enterprises. Moreover, the research results show that the absence of a clear mechanism which would raise public awareness regarding social problems and social capital, affects the active implication of community stakeholders into the societal problems.

Abstract:
In the article a detailed analysis of the small and medium entrepreneurship in the world economy is conducted. The objective reasons for the growth of the small and medium enterprises in the postindustrial society and the influence it realizes on the improvement of the competitiveness of the advanced economies are shown. On the basis of the vast statistical material is proved, that, as a rule, in the countries of the high socio-economic development the small entrepreneurship is effectively stimulated by the public structures. In the article the role of some methods of financial support for small and medium enterprises by the example of the certain countries is studied in details. Special attention is paid to the financial support of the small enterprises in New Zealand since it is the country that has been ranked first for a number of years in the “Doing Business” rating. Special attention in the article is paid to the US experience, because just this country for the researchers as well as for the practitioners is a role model in the field of the small entrepreneurship support. Special place is given to the analysis of the SBA (Small Business Administration) activity – organization, playing a key role in the functioning of small business in USA. In the article on the basis of the information presented the conclusions are made what methods of the small business stimulation could be realized in the Russian society.

Despite the increasing popularity of the concept of entrepreneurship for sustainable development in both academia and policy making, there is no agreement on how this process should unfold and which objectives it should pursue. Perceived tensions between the paradigms of sustainability and economic development as well as alack of shared definitions and assumptions lead to ambiguous understandings of the idea of sustainable entrepreneurship. This thesis uses the theoretical framework of ecological economics to investigate a leading discourse within the field of sustainable entrepreneurship and aims toclarify the underlying assumptions and implications of the current discourse. The analysed discourse is created by SEED, a global UN partnership which promotes entrepreneurship for sustainable development with a focus on African countries. The discourse analysis is conducted according to four analytical elements as defined by Dryzek (1997: 2013). The theoretical reflection of the discourse through the lensof ecological economics and its strong sustainability paradigm functions as a foundation for the conceptualisation of strong sustainable entrepreneurship from which implications for the current sustainable entrepreneurship discourse are derived.

A prestudy by the author of the assistance available to small business owners in South Africa revealed that although much assistance is available, many small businesses still fail. The question that arose was whether small business owners are receiving the proper assistance in respect of the right functional areas of the business, for the appropriate duration, at the right stage of the business life cycle and by the right people. Taking all these issues into account, the main purpose of this study was to determine what types of business interventions have the greatest impact on the success of entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprise owners. The literature study includes the history of small business development in South Africa and the interventions that have taken place in this and other countries. It also provides a definition of a successful small business and the generic business needs of small business owners. The sample used in this study was drawn from the members of the Confederation of Employers of South Africa (Cofesa). The research findings of this study are reliable for the SME owners who are members of Cofesa. The Cofesa group is not representative with regards to demographics, location, economic sectors or qualifications of South African SMEs. The following are some of the findings of the study of successful small business owners: * They generally make use of assistance in the areas of finance, marketing and human resources. * Most of them make use of assistance on a continuous basis during all the stages of the business life cycle, suggesting the way forward for aspirant business owners who should start making use of assistance even before starting their businesses. * Consultants or business specialists are mainly used for assistance. * More than two-thirds of the business owners thought that their businesses were more successful after they had received assistance. * The assistance was neither the cause of failure nor was it the main cause of their success. Assistance is a contributing factor to success but not the main reason for it. The success of a SME will depend mainly on other factors such as type of product, product quality and marketing. Assistance, however, proves vital and should first be provided for the areas as identified by the respondents in this study (mainly finance, marketing and human resources).<br>Business Management<br>D. Abstract:
This study was undertaken to investigate the motivation, intention, self-efficacy, culture, business support,entrepreneurial orientation and business performance of South African and immigrant entrepreneurs in small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Gauteng province. The performance of the SMEs was investigated, and the reasons and gaps that have led to the assumed low competitive ranking and poor performance of South African entrepreneurs compared to immigrant entrepreneurs were analysed. A structured research instrument (questionnaire) was used to collect data through interviews and a self-administered survey. A total of 466 questionnaires out of 500 questionnaires that had been distributed to respondents by six fieldworkers were returned (93.2%) for analysis.A number of hypotheses were postulated to address the study aims and the collected data were analysed to answer the hypotheses. The results of the study showed a significant correlation between motivation and business performance (a motivated entrepreneur is more likely to succeed in business than an unmotivated entrepreneur) and a significant positive correlation between culture and motivation to start a business (a culture that is supportive of entrepreneurial activities, lowuncertainty avoidance, high individualism and lowpower distance relates positively to a high level of entrepreneurial self-efficacy).The results also showed a significant difference between the mean values of business performance and the education of the owner. It is suggested that the government creates a favourable climate to allow entrepreneurs to release their potential. The government can help by making complex legislation easier for start-ups and reducing the tax burden on new entrepreneurs.<br>Business Management<br>D. Comm. (Business Management)

Abstract:
International expansion by small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) has long been a subject of research. The fact that internationalization begins earlier in a firm's life cycle has attracted attention to international new ventures as ‘a business organization that, from inception, seeks to derive significant competitive advantage from the use of resources and the sale of outputs in multiple countries’, ‘early internationalizers’, and ‘born global firms’. This article analyzes the internationalization of SMEs and examines the role of entrepreneurship in the literature. McDougall and Oviatt define international entrepreneurship as ‘a combination of innovative proactive and risk-seeking behaviour that crosses national borders and is intended to create value in organizations’. This definition provides a wide scope for research but also poses problems in terms of the level of the analysis and difficulties with respect to outcomes that are so far unresolved.

Abstract:
This chapter determines the relationships between managerial orientation factors, such as entrepreneurial alertness, learning goal orientation, and digital efficacy, on the adoption and outcomes of digital commerce in Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs). A survey of Australian SMEs was conducted, and 109 useable responses were received. The results describe owner/manager views of digital commerce use and business outcomes such as growth and efficiency resulting from adoption. Hierarchical regression analysis reveals that managerial orientations related to entrepreneurial alertness scanning and search as well as learning goal-orientation predict growth outcomes resulting from using digital commerce. Being able to see connections, make associations, and search for new opportunities is significantly related to efficiency stemming from digital commerce adoption. The findings contribute to the knowledge of digital commerce adoption, its outcomes, and how these relate to managerial orientations of entrepreneurial alertness, learning, and digital efficacy.

The idea of ‘enterprise’ has entered the lexicon of economic development tools, active labour market policies, and employability skills for graduates, amongst other areas of public and private life in recent years. A quick look at the literature, however, shows a much narrower application of the term even as late as the 1980s and 1990s, when ‘multinational enterprises’ was the dominant use of ‘enterprise’ in business and economics texts. ‘Entrepreneurship’ and ‘entrepreneur’ have longer histories but these have tended also to accrue new powers as economies have restructured and developed in new ways. As with other sub-disciplines, though enterprise and entrepreneurship have spread gradually beyond their traditional social cores, their study, application and analysis have evolved over time to embrace a wide range of strategic, social, political and economic areas. This chapter introduces the concept of ‘entrepreneurship’ and offers a launching platform for the remainder of the book.

Small and medium sized enterprises’ (SMEs) activities have contributed significantly to environmental degradation that causes a disastrous effect on us and our future generation. Considering this, sustainable entrepreneurship has been promoted as a resolution of ecological problems capable of addressing climate change issues, public health, and safety concerns, and has become critical for competing in international markets. SMEs activities increased pollution exclusively causing environmental degradation. In response, the world is focusing on ensuring that SMEs produce products through safe and environmentally friendly practices. Literature suggests that organizational support provide SMEs with the impetus to achieve competitive advantage regarding turnover, customer attraction and market share opportunities to achieve business performance. Nonetheless, the implementation of sustainable entrepreneurship among them is still low due to numerous challenges. This paper intends to investigate the influence of organizational support on sustainable entrepreneurship towards performance among SMEs. A case study involving 300 herbal-based SMEs were surveyed using structured questionnaire. Data was analyzed using descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation model. The results show that organizational support have a positive effect on sustainable entrepreneurship and performance among the SMEs, accounting for 52% and 47% variance respectively. This finding reveals that organizational support is significantly related to entrepreneurship performance, thus substantiates previous findings on the crucial roles of organizational support in enabling organizations to achieve sustainable entrepreneurship performance. This study contributes to triple bottom line literature based on incorporation of strategic choice theory, strategic sustainability orientation and resource-based view theory in entrepreneurship framework.

While talking about successful entrepreneurship and value addition within an enterprise through innovation, one could realize that the innovation paradigm has been shifted from simple introduction of new ideas and products to accumulation of diversified actions, actors and agents along the process. Furthermore, when the innovation process is not being restricted within the closed nature of it, the process takes many forms during its evolution. Innovations have been seen as closed innovation or open innovation, depending on its nature of action, but contemporary world may have seen many forms of innovation, such as technological innovation, products/service innovation, process/production innovation, operational/management/organizational innovation, business model innovation or disruptive innovation, though often they are strongly interrelated. Definition of innovation has also adopted many transformations along the path, incorporating innovations within the products, process or service of an enterprise to organizational, marketing, or external entities and relations. Nature and scope of agents and actors even varies widely within the innovation dynamics, when the open innovation techniques are being applied to enterprises, designated as the small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Researching in this paradigm, one has to look for some underlying issues that should be attended through responding to research questions as the research continues. Among many of the fundamental questions on innovation advancement for SMEs development there are a few, how to acquire precise information on the flow-chart of their business operations, gain knowledge on specific parameters of their business processes, utilize existing potential capacities to extend their knowledge towards successful innovation acquisition and dissemination, and extend their knowledge platform through various capacity development initiatives. They aggregate further, when issues of opportunities and challenges are being researched along the path of SME development through open innovation. Rationale of this research is to ascertain diverse aspects of opportunities and challenges surrounding the open innovation processes, and design action plans to empower SMEs in reaching out to the grass roots communities utilizing open innovation strategies. Primary focus of this research is to enable SMEs in finding out their innovation potentiality and empower them through various capacity development initiatives. However, the specific focus will adhere to adaptable technology transfer through open innovation. Along the route to justify the research potential and validate the research hypotheses (whether this research will add any economic value or knowledge gain), this study will conduct extensive literature review on various patterns of open innovation (crowdsourcing or collaborative), investigate case studies to learn about intricate issues surrounding their operational strategies (conducted by European Commission, OECD and similar institutions) and conduct surveys among selected SMEs (email, web based, egroups) in several phases. Research design includes formulation of strategies to resolve acquired research questions; collection and recording of the evidences obtained from the literature review or case studies or surveys; processing and analyzing gathered data and their appropriate interpretations; and publication of results. Analysis will include both qualitative (descriptive and exploratory) and quantitative (inferential statistics) methods.

Abstract:
The current article is devoted to search tools for determining the optimal solution and forming the optimal company strategy for small innovative companies in the business innovation environment of the oil and gas complex. The main area of research in the article is the reasons for the difficulties of innovative Russian entrepreneurship and its entry into the domestic market and work in this market. We also consider tools such as SWIFT-analysis of assessment and forecasting of the company's performance, the portfolio model of BCG (Boston consulting group), a multi-factor matrix for selecting strategies for the most effective planning of the company's activities, as an improved version of the Arthur D. Little model. At the same time, the study revealed that a wider range of project and strategic opportunities for planning and managing a company is formed by the production and economic matrix using SWOT analysis. Thus, based on this study, the following recommendations were formulated for beginning entrepreneurs and developers in the field of innovation: take into account and apply the strategy for small innovative enterprises according to the SWOT analysis for monitoring and forecasting upcoming events (production or economic); use marketing research tools, as well as forms for planning a product plan for the life of the company; take into account that the forecast should be based on strategic analysis, using the optimal method for specific goals, and be the starting point for developing new models and business development plans.
