Abstract:
The hospital information system has been regulated in Law Number 44 of 2009 concerning Hospitals. The law states that every hospital is required to record and report all hospital operations in the form of a hospital management system. In this regard, the research conducted at Wangaya Regional General Hospital, Denpasar City, aims to determine the performance calculation of the fiber optic network design at the hospital so that SIMRS implementation can be carried out optimally. This research uses Optisystem 7.0 simulation to determine the performance of network design at Wangaya Regional General Hospital, Denpasar City. Optisystem simulation with MMF OM4 cable produce a power receive value greater than allowable minimum receiver sensitivity, that is -11.1 dBm. The BER value obtained from the Optisystem simulation is less than 1x10-9 which indicates that the value has met the adequacy of the standard BER value in fiber optic networks. However, the Q-factor value obtained in the simulation is greater than the optical communication standard, that is 6. This design is feasible to implement using MMF OM4 cable from the results of testing with Optisystem simulations.

Abstract:
Pada era modern ini, tuntutan kebutuhan masyarakat akan layanan komunikasi semakin meningkat. Kebutuhan tersebut meliputi layanan video, suara dan data. Penambahan kapasitas ini dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknologi Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM). Salah satu perangkat yang digunakan teknologi DWDM yaitu Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer (OADM). OADM digunakan untuk melewatkan sinyal dan melakukan fungsi add dan drop. Salah satu perangkat yang mendukung untuk membantu kerja dari OADM adalah Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG). Tujuan pembuatan Penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan parameter desain FBG yang terbaik untuk jaringan DWDM berdasarkan nilai crosstalk, Q factor, dan Bit Error Rate (BER) guna memperoleh konfigurasi jaringan DWDM yang optimal. Pada Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan dua software. Pertama, menggunakan software Optisystem 7 untuk memodelkan sistem. Kedua, menggunakan software Optigrating 4.2.3 untuk verifikasi FBG. Parameter desain FBG yang terbaik yaitu dengan panjang grating 18600 um. Berdasarkan hasil ko-simulasi, nilai rata–rata BER hasil simulasi menggunakan FBG Optisystem adalah 1,19x10-15, sedangkan saat menggunakan FBG Optigrating adalah 4,15x10-15. Nilai rata – rata Q Factor hasil simulasi menggunakan FBG Optisystem adalah 8,43, sedangkan saat menggunakan FBG Optigrating adalah 8,18. Nilai rata – rata crosstalk hasil simulasi menggunakan FBG Optisystem adalah -39,63 dB, sedangkan saat menggunakan FBG Optigrating adalah -39,72 dB.

Teknologi XG-PON merupakan pengembangan dari teknologi G-PON. Perbedaan XG- PON dengan G-PON adalah bitrate nya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perancangan dari sistem WDM-PON pada teknologi XG-PON dengan menggunakan software optisystem. Pada perancangan penelitian memiliki beberapa parameter data yang diambil, antara lain Q-Factor, Bit Error Rate dan Power Link Budget. Rancang jaringan WDM-PON pada teknologi XG-PON menggunakan software optisystem melalui tahap simulasi dengan cara mengubah jarak 10-50 Km dan mengubah PTx sebesar 2-8 dBm pada software optisystem. Hasil yang didapatkan dari rancangan WDM-PON pada teknologi XG-PON adalah layak dengan memenuhi standar jaringan yang ada dengan Power Link Budget sebesar -27.54 dBm. Serta mendapatkan hasil dari penelitian Bit Error Rate terhadap jarak dimana semakin dekat jarak maka Bit Error Rate akan semakin bagus dan bila semakin jauh jarak maka Bit Error Rate akan semakin buruk.

Abstract:
In this paper the different modulation techniques used in fiber optic technology are compared to check which one has the better bit error rate (BER). There are a number of different modulation techniques used in WDN-PON systems but here the comparison is made among carrier-suppressed return-to-zero (CSRZ), duobinary return-to-zero (DRZ) and modified duobinary return-to-zero (MDRZ) modulation. The comparison to determine which is better is made my performing simulations in OptiSystem version 17 software. OptiSystem 17 is the current version of the software at the time the simulations were being carried out. In the OptiSystem software an optical fiber system is simulated from transmitter all the way to receiver. In the experiment when checking the performance of the different modulation formats, the optical fiber and the receiver are left unchanged and only the transmitter part is changed according to the modulation format being simulated at that particular instance. The modulation in the transmitter is done by using proper components from the OptiSystem library which when organized in the right order will give out a signal modulated in a certain format by the time it is fed into the optical fiber. Knowing the performance of modulation can help in WDM PON where the network gets to use passive components as it goes to user. Since no active amplification or correction equipment is used in WDM-PON, therefore using the format with the best performance can help with performance of overall system.

Pada tugas akhir ini dirancang suatu jaringan Fiber To The Home ( FTTH) di Kelurahan Surau Gadang yang mana daerah tersebut dilakukan perancangan dan pengukuran performasi jaringan dimana standar yang digunakan sesuai dengan PT. ICON+. Tata cara yang digunakan dalam perancangan ini ialah penen- tuan posisi, pengumpulan informasi, serta perancangan memakai aplikasi Google Earth serta OptiSystem. Hasil dari perbandingan antara pengukuran OptiSystem dan pengukuran di lapangan didapatkan hasil redaman yang berbeda, dimana hasil pengukuran pada OptiSystem pelanggan dengan jarak terjauh menghasilkan daya terima sebesar -18.277 dBm sedangkan untuk pengukuran di lapangan pelanggan dengan jarak terjauh menghasilkan daya terima sebesar -18.52 dBm. Parameter Rise Time Budget didapatkan dari perhitungan ialah 0. 029 ns yang sudah memenuhi stndar kelayakan ialah tidak lebih dari 0. 219 ns sedangkan nilai Bit Error Rate pada simulasi ialah 8.11464 x 10-33 yang sudah memenuhi standar kelayakan ialah tidak lebih dari 10-9. Nilai Signal To Noise Ratio (SNR) merupakan 50.044831 dB yang pula penuhi standar minimal SNR ialah 21.5 dB. Dari hasil perhi- tungan serta hasil simulasi didapatkan nilai-nilai yang masih memenuhi standar kelayakan jaringan Fiber To The Home sehingga rancangan layak buat diimplementasikan.

Abstract This paper presents on the design of high performance triangular Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) as temperature sensor. This triangular FBG is designed and simulated using OptiGrating Software. The Triangular FBG design is exported to OptiSystem Software. In the OptiSystem software, the overall triangular FBG temperature sensor system is designed and simulated. It found that the triangular FBG has higher temperature sensitivity which is 37.5pm/°C than the standard FBG which is around 13pm/°C. It also has high linearity of 99.2% which specifies the consistency of wavelength shift as the temperature is increased. It also has higher resolution due to its sharp peak and smaller bandwidth.

Teknologi yang semakin canggih menyebabkan kebutuhan manusia akan kecepatan data sangat tinggi untuk memberikan keseimbangan terhadap teknologi. Upaya untuk menunjang teknologi tersebut menggunakan teknologi Fiber to The Home (FTTH) sebagai transmisinya. Lokasi wilayah yang menggunakan teknologi FTTH tersebut berada di daerah Padalarang, Bandung Barat. Penelitian ini menganalisa serat optik dengan penggunaan splitter 1:8 melalui metode perhitungan Power Link Budget, pengukuran alat menggunakan Optical Power Meter (OPM), serta digunakan aplikasi simulasi Optisystem dan Google Earth. Hasil penelitian didapatkan receive sensitivity Power Link Budget sebesar -16,78 dBm untuk ODP dan -18,79 dBm untuk ONT. Terdapat selisih sebesar 9,18% antara hasil pengukuran dan perhitungan menggunakan metode Power Link Budget pada ODP, sebesar 7,5% antara pengukuran dan perhitungan menggunakan metode Power Link Budget pada ONT, sebesar 3,78% antara pengukuran dengan hasil simulasi Optisystem pada ODP, sebesar 1,97% antara pengukuran menggunakan OPM dengan hasil simulasi Optisystem pada ONT. Berdasarkan pemantauan kelayakan performansi jaringan yang dilakukan selama 2 minggu, didapatkan nilai rata-rata receive sensitivity untuk ODP sebesar -18,32 dBm. Pada ONT dilakukan pengukuran pada port 4,6, dan 8 di perangkat ODP menghasilkan nilai receive sensivity sebesar -19,35 dBm, -20,26 dBm, dan -20,95 dBm. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa nilai telah memenuhi standar ITU-T G.984, yakni Pr lebih dari -27 dBm. Performansi jaringan Fiber to The Home yang dilakukan di daerah Padalarang, Bandung Barat sesuai PT. Telkom berdasarkan pengukuran yang dilakukan.

<span>Fibre Bragg Grating is an optical fibre that widely use as sensor to sense strain, temperature and pressure. The advantages of FBG sensor are it will not affected by electromagnetic interference which can improve the accuracy of the result and also can be wearable sensor. In this paper, Optisystem software tools are used to analyse the strain performance of FBG sensor for monitoring knee joint movement in rehabilitation process. Single mode FBG with original wavelength of 1550nm are used to get the accurate result because of less attenuation and absorption factor. This project also analysed the wavelength shifted when strain experienced by FBG change. The accuracy of sensor and method of delivering the result are taken into the account. The interrogator are used to display the wavelength shifted by the FBG when there is change in strain experienced by FBG. All of the proposed designed are tested by using simulation software and the wavelength shifted in the simulation are compared to the theoretical value that has been calculated in this project. The development of this system expected to improve the rehabilitation process towards a healthy life.</span>

Fiber optik merupakan media transmisi dengan menggunakan cahaya. Fiber optik mampu menghasilkan redaman (atenuasi) kurang dari 20 dB/km dengan bandwith yang besar sehingga mampu untuk mentransmisikan data dalam kapasitas yang besar dan kecepatan yang tinggi. Pelemahan (redaman) adalah salah satu karakteristik dari serat optik, redaman ini mengakibatkan penurunan dari daya cahaya, penurunan bandwith dari sistem transmisi, dan kapasitas sistem.penelitian dilakukan secara simulasi dengan menggunakan Software Optisystem karena dapat merancang jaringan optik dengan mudah, dan efisien. Percobaan dilakukan untuk menentukan redaman sinyal optic apabila dilakukan dengan 2 variasi yaitu panjang fiber optik sebanyak 10 kali dan penambahan EDFA sebagai penguat optik. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan dapat diketahui bahwa Semakin panjang fiber optik yang digunakan maka redaman daya yang dihasilkan juga akan semakin besar. Nilai atenuasi dapat bernilai negatif karena nilai daya saat diterima oleh photodetector lebih besar dibandingkan dengan daya saat ditransmisikan. Hal ini dikarenakan penambahan Erbium Dopped Fiber Amplifier (EDFA) pada rangkaian optic yang berfungsi sebagai penguat optik. Sehingga dengan penambahan EDFA pada penelitian ini sistem optik tidak mengalami redaman. Besarnya redaman dapat menyebabkan terganggunya proses transmisi dan berpengrauh terhadap kebutuhan daya pada sistem serat optik.

This paper presents on the design of L-Band Multiwavelength laser for Hybrid Time Division Multiplexing/ Wavelength Division Multiplexing (TDM/WDM) Passive Optical Network (PON) application. In this design, an L-band Mulltiwavelength Laser is designed as the downstream signals for TDM/WDM PON. The downstream signals ranging from 1569.865 nm to 1581.973 nm with 100GHz spacing. The multiwavelength laser is designed using OptiSystem software and it is integrated into a TDM/WDM PON that is also designed using OptiSystem simulation software. By adapting multiwavelength fiber laser into a TDM/WDM network, a simple and low-cost downstream signal is proposed. From the simulation design, it is found that the proposed design is suitable to be used in TDM/WDM PON for up to 64 Optical Network Units (ONUs).

Fiber based wireless access facilitates high-capacity multimedia services in a real-time basis. In this research paper, the RoF system is simulated in the presence of fiber impairments, namely, Polarization Mode Dispersion (PMD) and Cross Phase Modulation (XPM) and Four-Wave Mixing (FWM) with the help of OptiSystem simulation tool. The variations in Quality factor (Q factor) and Bit Error Rate (BER) with respect to wavelength of 1552 nm and bit rates of 10 Gb/s of input signal is analyzed in the presence of the linear and non-linear impairments of the fiber. This paper presents the background of PON (Passive Optical Network), introduces the powerful communication design and simulating software which named Optisystem, show the PON(Passive Optical Network) theory and structure, designs the PON fiber link which has 1310nm uplink wavelength and 1490nm downlink wavelength and then analyses the models performance. In the software, we set up a rate of 1Gbps model of PON by using the component in the Optisystem. Through calculating the model, the document gets the spectrum figure of the simulate fiber link, and analyses the parameter, such as spectrum character, Q factor, eye diagram and BER, the result verified the validity and practicable of the models design, makes the result that the initial character fiber link cant meet the demand of optical communication, so changing the transmission distance to 10 km , transmitter power to-1dBm, meeting and obtaining the basic requirements of the system performance, after that the paper comparing the coding between none return to zero (NRZ) and return to zero (RZ) encoded mode, the eye diagram analyzer component show that NRZ code is better than RZ code, in the end of the paper there is the conclusion.

Jaringan fiber optik sangat diperlukan sebagai media komunikasi untuk mendukung program smart city.Optik diperlukan karena memiliki kelebihan berupa keunggulan dalam hal kecepatan dan kapasitas transfer data. Perancangan ini dilakukan untuk kawasan Sudirman kota Pekanbaru. Tools yang digunakan dalam perancangan adalah aplikasi Optisystem. Dari hasil perancangan ini didapatkan nilai redaman< -23 dB, rise time mengikuti kode NRZ (70%) , SNR 21,5 dB, dan BER 10-9 bps yang sesuai dengan standar. Perbandingan antara nilai standar dari lembaga ITU-T didapat hasil yang memenuhi ketentuan yang telah diberikan, seperti nilai rise time budget yang tidak lebih dari 17 ps, nilai BER yang tidak lebih besar dari 10-9 bps, nilai link power budget yang tidak lebih dari 23 dBm dan nilai SNR yang tidak kurang dari 21.5 dB.

Abstract:
Visible light communication (VLC ) is an emerging research area in wireless communication. The system works the same way as optical fiber-based communication systems. However, the VLC system uses free space as its transmission medium. The invention of the light-emitting diode (LED) significantly updated the technologies used in modern communication systems. In VLC, the LED acts as a transmitter and sends data in the form of light when the receiver is in the line of sight (LOS) condition. The VLC system sends data by blinking the light at high speed, which is challenging to identify by human eyes. The detector receives the flashlight at high speed and decodes the transmitted data. One significant advantage of the VLC system over other communication systems is that it is easy to implement using an LED and a photodiode or phototransistor. The system is economical, compact, inexpensive, small, low power, prevents radio interference, and eliminates the need for broadcast rights and buried cables. In this paper, we investigate the performance of an indoor VLC system using Optisystem simulation software. We simulated an indoor VLC system using LOS and non-line-of-sight (NLOS) propagation models. Our simulation analyzes the LOS propagation model by considering the direct path with a single LED as a transmitter. The NLOS propagation model-based VLC system analyses two scenarios by considering single and dual LEDs as its transmitter. The effect of incident and irradiance angles in an LOS propagation model and an eye diagram of LOS/NLOS models are investigated to identify the signal distortion. We also analyzed the impact of the field of view (FOV) of an NLOS propagation model using a single LED as a transmitter and estimated the bitrate (Rb). Our theoretical results show that the system simulated in this paper achieved bitrates in the range of 2.1208×107 to 4.2147×107 bits/s when the FOV changes from 30∘ to 90∘. A VLC hardware design is further considered for real-time implementations. Our VLC hardware system achieved an average of 70% data recovery rate in the LOS propagation model and a 40% data recovery rate in the NLOS propagation model. This paper’s analysis shows that our simulated VLC results are technically beneficial in real-world VLC systems.

Optical fiber as a transmission medium that meets the needs of the internet with large bandwidth. The FTTH (Fiber To The Home) network can deliver a variety of digital information, such as voice, video and data more effectively so that it can support the Triple Play service marketed by Oxygen Home. To determine the feasibility and performance of the FTTH (Fiber To The Home) design system in the Bali Agung 2 Complex, South Pontianak, it will be assessed based on test parameters. The test parameters are Power Link Budget for system feasibility and BER (Bit Error Ratio) will be displayed with an eye diagram for system performance used using Optisystem software, Optisystem is software that can be used to simulate a fiber optic network from central to end – user. From the results of the FTTH network simulator using optical system software, it is found that the farthest user attenuation value is Prx: -16.018 dBm, 1.4804 x 10-61 and Q factor 16.5122. The results obtained are feasible because they are above the minimum FTTH network standard with GPON technology

DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) adalah suatu teknik multiplexing yang mampu mentransmisikan lebih dari 400 panjang gelombang dalam satu serat optik. Laju pengiriman data menggunakan media serat optik dapat mencapai 1 Tbps atau 1.000 Gbps. DWDM merupakan suatu perbaikan dari WDM. Inti perbaikan yang dimiliki oleh teknologi DWDM terletak pada jenis filter, serat optik dan penguat amplifier. Jenis filter yang umum dipergunakan salah satunya adalah Array Waveguide Grating (AWG). Pada Penelitian ini dianalisis kinerja suatu Array Waveguide Filters (AWG) yang mampu digunakan pada DWDM. Pada Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunkan 2 software. Pertama, menggunakan software Optisystem 7 untuk memodelkan sistem DWDM. Kedua, menggunakan software OptiBPM untuk verifikasi AWG. Pada Optisystem didapatkan nilai konfigurasi DWDM yang optimal yaitu pada C Band dengan spasi kanal 50GHz dan jumlah wavelength 64. Sedangkan pada OptiBPM didapatkan untuk konfigurasi DWDM tersebut diperlukan AWG dengan dengan sudut orientasi 53 derajat, panjang FSR 1500um, lebar angular 11,4 derajat dengan ukuran 15000x10000um sehingga didapatkan nilai BER, Q-factor dan crosstalk yang memiliki perbedaan namun telah mencapai kriteria yaitu dengan Q factor antara 8,43 sampai dengan 14,09 sedangkan untuk BER dari 1,719x10-40 sampai dengan 1,19x10-17 dan crosstalk antara -149 dB sampai dengan -40,8 dB.

The most effective solutions available now for information security and protection, industry development, digitization, and operation for future generations are fiber optic networks. In this connection, we used the Optical Reflectometer OTDR to analyze an actual optical link between Skikda-Elharrouche for two different wavelengths offered by "Algeria Telecom". Using the optical simulator OPTISYSTEM, the same network was constructed with the purpose of verifying the optical connection quality by virtual monitoring and cross-referencing with the actual data sheet. The two application wavelengths chosen for the experiment and test were 1310 nm and 1550 nm. By selecting suitable link parameters, we found that the line does not present major defects compared to the results of the OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer). By simulating the connection in the opposite direction using OptiSystem software, the settings were verified. Results of eye diagrams, the minimum BER (Bit Error Rate) value reaching 2.377 10-25 for 1550nm and 7.279 10-45, and quality factor which reaches the value of 10.327 at 1550nm, and the value 14.004 at 1310nm, showed that Skikda-Elharrouche optical link performed better comparing to OTDR results.

This rsearch work presents an educational software interface tool for analyzing and estimating the bit error rate (BER) of an optical communication system. Currently BER estimation tool required expensive measurement equipment such as serial data analyzer (SDA) and BER Tester. In addition to cost all this equipment is also limited to BER estimation based on standard format and is not suitable for custom analysis because of time constraint to use equipment even during offline estimation. This educational software interface tool is developed using OPTISYSTEM software and built-in MATLAB command. MATLAB GUI is used as the software tool because it’s friendly user. OPTISYSTEM is used to design the PAM two levels, four levels, and eight levels system. MATLAB is used as an interface to build the BER estimation tool for measuring the PAM multilevel modulation technique. The MATLAB GUI system for measuring BER is design using Gaussian probability errors approximation method. The designed BER estimation tool simulation, is able to plot the eye diagram, BER diagram, Q-factor value, threshold value, and the most important function is to analysis the BER value for two levels, four levels and eight levels of a PAM optical communication systems.

This paper scrutinizes visible light communication (VLC) employing hybrid optical time division multiplexing (OTDM) wavelength division multiplexing (WDM). It also demonstrates the simulation of VLC using the direct sequence optical code division multiple access (DS-OCDMA) system developed by OptiSystem-Matlab Co-simulation. The profits of WDM and OTDM capacities have been combined using two levels of freedom to build up of the system. The performances are demonstrated in the simulated findings of the bit error rate (BER) in relationship with the data rate and the number of users. First, the simulated results display the usefulness of the system. Then, the number of users has been significantly enhanced. Besides, the OCDMA functions by appointing a specific code to each user and could provide asynchronous and simultaneous access to numerous users. One drawback is multiple access interference (MAI). The use of very long code sequences is crucial in order to lessen this effect. Hence, very large bandwidths are essential. This study aims at demonstrating, through system simulation, the practicability of an all-optical conventional correlation receiver dedicated to a DS-OCDMA access network link. Again, OptiSystem has been used to realize our blocks.

A Planning for fiber optic network using optical simulation from STO to ONT (optical Network Termination) with the farthest distance of ± 6.22 km done in the area of Jl. Batuyang, Kangin Batubulan, Sukawati, with an estimated number of customers of 270 customers aiming to switch networks from Multi Services Access Network (MSAN) to Gigabit Passive Optical Network (GPON). Planning starts from the survey area that will be built by the network, determines the customer's estimation, estimates the placement of the device and determines the specifications of the device to be used. Planning starting from STO to ONT / customer uses an optical application which will result from planning in the form of PRx on ODP (Optical Distribution Pack), PRx on ONT and bit error rate. The results of the analysis carried out, the Rx power generated in the ODP with the farthest distance of ± 6.22 km, which is for measuring results -26,893 dBm while in the planning results can be as much as -22,744 dBm, and PRx in ONT obtained for measuring results while in the planning obtained a result of -24.722 dBm, from the PRx results obtained the attenuation value is still below the ITU-T G.984 standard which is -28 dBm. BER value (Bit Error Rate) that is produced with the farthest distance of ± 6.12 km is 3,33x10?19 bit/s, this value is below the standard, namely 10?9 bit/s, with this result, optical fiber network planning using an optical system is feasible.

The utilization of chaotic optical communication, a physical layer security technology, has the potential to enhance the security of optical fiber networks. In this paper, we take knowledge acquired while teaching “A chaotic security system based on phase-intensity (P-I) electro-optic feedback” as an example and, in detail, introduce a teaching implementation process based on the combination of Optisystem and Matlab. Firstly, based on the Lang–Kobayashi (L-K) laser equation, the generation mechanism of electro-optic feedback chaos was explained. Secondly, the P-I electro-optic feedback chaos was analyzed theoretically with the help of Matlab. Finally, a laser chaotic optical communication system based on electro-optic feedback was built with the help of Optisystem (15.0.0) software, and the performance of the communication was simulated and analyzed through the design of system parameters. The teaching design model and facilitate the concretization of the abstract theory of “the principle of chaos generated by electro-optic feedback, the composition of chaotic optical communication system and the performance index of chaotic communication system”. Through after-class exercises and questionnaire surveys, it was verified that the teaching method is widely recognized by students and that it effectively improves the teaching effect of the course of laser chaotic communication and the students’ academic research ability.

GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) merupakan standar komunikasi optik yang dikembangkan oleh ITU-T via G.984. GPON memiliki memiliki beberapa keunggulan dibanding standar lain, yaitu: memiliki bandwidth yang besar dan efisiensi yang tinggi. Pada penelitian ini penulis merancang penggunaan serat optik pada aplikasi sensor jarak jauh menggunakan standar GPON pada salah satu client yang terhubung dengan STO BKR, STO PBR, STO RBI dan STO ARK Pekanbaru. Aplikasi sensor ini disimulasikan menggunakan software Optisystem dengan parameter pengujian yaitu power link budget dan Bit Error Rate (BER). Dari hasil pengukuran menggunakan Optical Power Meter (OPM) yang ada di Optosystem, diperoleh nilai level daya penerimaan lebih besar dari -28 dBm dan BER lebih kecil dari 10-9.

Dewasa ini, keburuhan masyarakat akan layanan internet meningkat, faktor ini disebabkan karena kegiatan kerja dirumah ataupun sekolah dirumah sehingga internet menjadi kebutuhan utama. Riset ini mengangkat tentang analisa kinerja jaringan Fiber To The Home sepanjang 1,32 km dari Sentra-Telepon-Otomat (STO) Slipi ke Jalan Tali Kota Bambu Selatan, Jakarta Barat menggunakan teknologi 10-Gigabit Passive Optical Network. Tujuan riset ini adalah mendapatkan desain jaringan fiber to the home kemudian simulasikan menggunakan peranti lunak Optisystem hingga didapatkan hasil performansi jaringan yang terbaik. Metode riset yang digunakan antara lain menghitung link power budget, rise time budget dan Bit Error Rate (BER). Hasil perhitungan menyatakan kelayakan jaringan link power budget berkisar antara -22,367 dBm hingga -22,485 dBm. Hasil simulasi Optisystem diperoleh nilai antara -16,191 dBm hingga -16,310 dBm dan hasil pengukuran di lapangan diperoleh nilai antara -14,55 dBm hingga -15,00 dBm. Hasil ini memenuhi standar kelayakan jaringan PT. Telkom sebesar ≥ -28 dBm. Pada rise time budget diperoleh nilai 49,60 ps sampai 49,67 ps pada tipe persinyalan Non-Return-to-Zero (NRZ), artinya hasil tersebut layak karena nilainya lebih kecil 70% dari nilai rise time perangkat saat periode bit Non-Return-to-Zero (NRZ). Untuk Bit Error Rate (BER) diperoleh nilai sebesar 3,11145 x 10-52, hasil ini memenuhi standar kelayakan jaringan yang telah ditetapkan sebesar 10-9. Kesimpulan riset ini menunjukkan bahwa jaringan Fiber to the Home (FTTH) ini layak untuk beroperasi.

One of the solutions to meet the needs of fast information is to use transmission via a Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) network. The purpose of this study is to determine and analyze the performance of WDM networks and the impact that occurs when EDFA is added and its use in PON networks. This research will utilize optisystem 7.0 software in carrying out design simulations and finding out the results of receiver power, q-factor, and BER which will then be used as a comparison in this study. The results of the analysis provide evidence that the use of WDM in the delivery process is more efficient because it can transmit several wavelengths at a time, but will have a negative effect on distance, but this can be overcome by using EDFA in WDM networks. The use of WDM-PON will expand the scope of the process of sending information. The results of this study can prove the performance in the use of WDM. In the future, it is necessary to carry out further research by adding other comparison parameters so that the results obtained will be more certain. As well as the use of the latest version of the optisystem application will help and facilitate the process of collecting information and data.

Here we have designed a optical fiber transmission system based on APDCDM of three users by Joint simulation with Optisystem and Matlab. Simulation result shows the feasibility of this system. By the analysis of signal energy, explain APDCDM can carry more users than DCDM.

The paper considers a method for maintaining a quasi-soliton mode in a multi-span fiber-optic communication system using discrete Erbium optical amplifiers, as well as Raman amplifiers with distributed amplification with counter and bidirectional pumping. The OptiSystem 19 and OptiPerformer 19 programs were used to model quasi-soliton fiber-optic communication systems. The simulation results are compared with theoretical data, and the advantages of a fiber-optic communication system with a Raman amplifier and bidirectional pumping are demonstrated.

High-speed data transmission over long distances is a big challenge in the telecommunications world. Therefore, a reliable communication network is needed to provide this service to subscribers. Fiber optics is based on Fiber to the Home (FTTH / GPON) network, which is a fiber optic architecture that uses fibers as transmission channels to customers' homes or offices. In this proposed paper, the optical fiber analysis to the houses at different lengths (5-35km) presented and discussed. The transmission power was set to 5 dBm, from the results of the design optisystem tools, when the optical fiber length was 5km length the minimum bit error rate BER obtained = 0, where the length has been changed to 35km, the BER increased and the quality factor decreases gradually as the fiber length increases to reach the lowest value Q= 6.573 and BER=2.4589×10-1. FTTH / GPON technology can be applied for specific distances in cities where cost is reduced and data transmission rates are increased.
