Abstract:
This study analyzes the use of Conceptual Metaphors in Donald Trump's 2024 victory remark to focus on how these factors shape his rhetorical strategies and communicate his political vision. By examining the frequencies and functions of Ontological, Structural and Orientational Metaphors, the research reveals how he makes abstract political concepts more tangible and accessible to his audience. Ontological Metaphors (54%) dominate the speech to allow complex ideas such as national unity and progress to be conceptualized as physical entities to make his message more relatable and emotionally compelling. Structural Metaphors (33.5%) help to organize abstract ideas to provide clarity and a sense of order while Orientational Metaphors (12.5%) emphasize spatial direction and forward movement. The findings highlight the central role of Ontological Metaphors in simplifying complex political concepts to foster optimism and inspire confidence in the future. The study provides valuable insights for political communicators, educators, and researchers and offers a deeper understanding of how metaphor usage influences public perception and voter sentiment.

Abstract:
The high pragmatic potential of conceptual metaphors is due to their suggestive and estimated load. The use of laconic metaphorical expression allows the author not only to designate a certain micro-event, but also to express his assessment, which is largely implicit and which can change the attitude of the audience towards a real event.

Abstract:
This research examines conceptual metaphors as defined by Lakoff and Johnson, focusing on three types: structural, ontological, and orientational. The study analyzes an editorial from Goal.com titled, "Arsenal have no margin for error! Gunners told Liverpool showdown is 'must-win' in title race just eight games into 2024-25 season," using a qualitative approach grounded in cognitive semantic theory to explore the nuanced meanings conveyed through metaphor in sports commentary. Known for its in-depth and timely football analysis, Goal.com offers insights into how metaphors enhance fans' understanding of competitive sports narratives. Data collection involved close reading and note-taking, identifying instances of structural, ontological, and orientational metaphors, along with their source and target domains and image schemas. Findings reveal five structural metaphors, which use schemas such as Scale and Force to emphasize competitive intensity; four ontological metaphors, drawing on Container, Force, and Existence schemas to illustrate team pressures; and one orientational metaphor, using the Container schema to deepen spatial and relational context in the text. This study highlights the role of sports media metaphors in shaping public perception, making abstract concepts like competition and resilience more tangible. By framing sports challenges in relatable, high-stakes terms, these metaphors foster emotional engagement among fans, creating a shared understanding of a team's journey and pressures and underscoring the powerful influence of metaphor in sports narratives.

Abstract:
This research aims to reveal the use of conceptual metaphors in curatorial texts using the Conceptual Metaphor theory proposed by George Lakoff and Mark Johnson (2003). In addition, this research also analyzes the relationship between the metaphor’s source domain and target domain. It uses a descriptive qualitative research method. The stages of this research are problem formulation, data collection, data analysis, data interpretation, and conclusion. The research results show that in the curatorial text of the Manifesto VIII exhibition, there are 39 metaphorical linguistic expressions, consisting of 10 structural metaphors, two orientational metaphors, and 27 ontological metaphors. The ontological metaphors found in this curatorial text are divided into three categories: first, personifying a thing or object as a human being; second, considering an object as a container with spatial content; and third, attaching concrete qualities to abstract things. Of the three categories, the curator gives more human qualities to inanimate objects (17 metaphorical linguistic expressions). It is in line with the aim of curatorial texts, which is to build the audience’s emotional involvement with the art narrative.

Abstract:
This thesis is a conceptual metaphor research which analyse the element te ‘hand’ in the Japanese idioms. The purpose of this research is to know the te 'hands' image scheme in Japanese idioms and analyze it based on the conceptual metaphors. The data source in this research were taken from the dictionary of idiom “iitai naiyou kara gyakuhiki dekiru reikai kanyouku jiten” by Inoue Muneo. The amount of the data found and analysed were 59 and the amount of data presented were 15. The results of data analysis describe the idiom with the main element of the hand are filled with metaphorical expressions because the hand is the most used body part for activities. The results of the analysis also show eight concepts of hand, which are : HAND as ACTIVITIES/JOB, POSSESSION, LINK, ATTITUDE, TACTICS, CAPABILITY/SKILLS, SUPPORT, and EXPERTISE.To understand the concept of hand, it is useful to not only use ontological metaphors analysis, but in terms of the hand that has a spatial orientation, it must be analyse with orientational metaphors.

Abstract:
This research is motivated by themetaphorical language that often appears in literary works because literary works contain many connotative meanings, so they use majas. One of the literary works is folklore. In this study, researchers were interested in analyzing conceptual metaphors found in several folklore. The source of the research used is based on a collection of folklore entitled "Folklore from Cirebon" by Made Casta and Masduki Sarpin published in 1998. That way, the purpose of this study is to describe the types of metaphors, conceptual meanings, and image schemes in the cirebon folklore collection. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods. The data collection technique in this study is a reading and note-taking technique, namely by reading the book of the collection of folklore, then recorded and classified the type of metaphor obtained. The data analysis techniques used are analysis techniques according to Miles and Huberman (1992), namely: (1) data reduction (data reduction), (2) data presentation (data display), and (3) conclusion drawing. From the research, the results were obtained, namely from the 6 folklore analyzed, there were 14 data that contained metaphorical meanings. The metaphor is based on three types of metaphors, namely structural, orientational, and ontological. The results stated that this collection of folklore from Cirebon uses the most orientational metaphors with the image scheme that appears the most is the spatial image scheme. Both metaphors and image schemes are found in many folklore entitled The Origin of the Name Cirebon. This research is expected to be useful for literature learning in high school and for the advancement of conceptual metaphorical research.

Abstract:
The object of research is the universal processes of space development in urban planning. An ontological model of space development is proposed, applicable to the zoning of megacities and public spaces, allowing its sectoral and zigzag representation. Territorial planning is defined as the formalization of the genesis and self-organization processes. The formalization includes eight stages of the self-organization process, absolute and relative spatial interpretation of each stage, and a set of urban planning functions for each stage. This approach can be used to examine the zoning of public spaces both as part of the designed public space and in the surrounding buildings. In the sectoral ontological model, the development of space is presented as a process of genesis, directed from the general to the particular and having an absolute or relative orientation to the cardinal points. In the zigzag ontological model, a relative spatial orientation is established between adjacent objects. The novelty of the study lies in the establishment of common principles for structuring space for megacities and their public spaces.

Abstract:
A central problem of organisations is the uncertainty of their environmental transactions in the attainment of desired responses. The degree to which the uncertainty is reduced, is often associated with the organisation's offectiveness. This study examines and Identifies an appropriate theoretical framework within which to proceed with an Investigation into organisational effectiveness. The systems approach, although of limited ontological value, of. fers a valuable cluster of strategies for Inquiry, within which Heldema's partial. dy systems-derived view is discussed. According to this view, perceptions of real systems can be described along spatial and temporal dimensions: as ahistorical, Inward-looking and struc tural; or as historical, outward-looking and changing. From this, the active out. ward orlented perceptual paradigm is developed, and It Is suggested that the existence of the active outward oriented basic assumption is a necessary condition of the organisation's potential effectiveness, and that the process by which it is instituted and maintained is communication.

Abstract:
The rural boarding schools that were established in the socialist era to serve children in Mongolia’s herding communities remain integral to national policy for ensuring universal access to formal education. Education policy actors demonstrate commitment to the socialist legacy of the schooled herder child, while at the same posing legitimate questions as to boarding schools’ quality and contemporary relevance. This questioning is framed with reference to a globally-orientated discourse of standards, outcomes measurement and skills for employability. The paper argues from a post-socialist perspective that this orientation forecloses a nuanced, contextualised understanding of “relevance” as a complex educational policy problem. Drawing on policy documents and secondary literature, it develops and applies a post-socialist conceptual framework to explore the temporal and spatial orientations of rural boarding schools and their “relevance”. The analysis evidences multiple, intersecting layers of change which situate the schooled herder child and constitute Mongolia”s “unfinished business of socialism” in education. The paper concludes that the layering revealed in this analysis needs to be more visible to educational policy; and that to resist oversimplifying the complex problem of education”s relevance is an ontological imperative.

Abstract:
Abstract The notion of heritage language (HL) has recently been challenged by emerging orientations to language. That languages are always in contact, they are constructed by ideologies, and they don’t have an ontological status challenge traditional notions of HL as primordial, pure, and territorialized. In this article, I draw from data from a qualitative inquiry adopting observations, surveys, and interviews on how families of the Sri Lankan Tamil diaspora community in UK, USA, and Canada define heritage language and competence. I focus specifically on interview data to unveil the language ideologies of community members relating to heritage language and identity. For them, competence means having the ability to align Tamil verbal resources strategically with multimodal semiotic resources and spatial repertoires to accomplish social and cultural communicative activities. For this objective, being proficient in fragmentary verbal resources, receptive and/or conversational skills, low diglossic Tamil, and informal register are deemed satisfactory. Therefore the corpus that is considered as HL is also changing in diaspora contexts to accommodate appropriations from other languages, and metonymic uses, which develop shared indexicality for the community. I label these assumptions as constituting a practice-based ideology of HL. Such an orientation will help us understand HL as a socially constructed and changing construct, while affirming its importance for migrant communities.

Understanding distinctively Inka (and southern Quechua) ways of interacting with the world requires integrated social, cultural, linguistic, cognitive, and material evidence. These include properties of the world (“what there is”), causal relationships among them (for example, that places have social agency); and spatial orientation. Each of these follow general principles-- embodied in language, cognition, social relations, and material culture—that are interconnectioned, some mutually compatible, and others incompatible, which warrant certain social and material outcomes and not others. These in turn can be tested archaeologically.

Abstract:
This chapter assesses underlying spatial relations for pedestrian wayfinding by examining navigational directions given in both forms of sketch maps and verbal descriptions. An experiment was conducted to investigate characteristics of navigational directions provided by participants in the form of sketch maps and verbal descriptions. The authors were specifically interested in the landmarks and spatial relationships such as route topology, linear order relation, and relative orientation extracted from the navigational directions. A new ontological approach to sketch and verbal interpretations was adopted for spatial analysis. The results pointed to the advantage of including sketch components into pedestrian navigation systems over solely turn-by-turn instructions. In addition, the results showed the differences between visual and verbal directions, which suggest the necessity of having different levels of directions for giving specific types of navigational instructions.
