Abstract:
O presente artigo tem como objetivo tratar da religiosidade sobre o prisma da validade apriorística da mesma, avaliando duas propostas diferentes que, apesar das divergências pressuposicionais, assumem essa categoria como anterior ao desenvolvimento sócio-cultural humano. Dessa forma, tratamos aqui da questão filosófica acerca da religião a priori, a partir de dois teóricos, a saber, o teólogo alemão Rudolf Otto e o filósofo holandês Herman Dooyeweerd. A metodologia utilizada no artigo foi exploratória, com uso do método comparativo, a fim de expandir a discussão por meio das aproximações e contrastes dos dois atores presentes no texto. Destacamos aqui as concepções diferentes sobre o tema central ao pôr ao lado da fenomenologia-psicológica de Otto a religião fundamentalmente inevitável de Dooyeweerd.

Abstract Medieval Central Europe coins - the Saxon coins, also called as the Otto and Adelheid denarii, as well as the Polish ones, the Władysław Herman and Bolesław Śmiały coins - were examined to determine their provenance and dating. Their attribution and chronology often constitute a serious problem for historians and numismatists. For hundreds of years, coins were in uncontrolled conditions and in variable environment. Destructed and inhomogeneous surface were the effect of corrosion processes. Electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray analysis (scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDS)), X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis (energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) and total reflection X-ray fluorescence (TXRF)), and laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (LA-ICP-MS) were applied. The results of these investigations are significant for our knowledge of the history of Central European coinage, especially of Polish coinage

As archival scholarship on National Socialism moved under way during the later 1960s, study of the Right's broader intellectual history relied on a small number of then canonical works—by Klemens von Klemperer (1957), Otto E. Schüddekopf (1960), Fritz Stern (1961), Hans-Joachim Schwierskott (1962), and Kurt Sontheimer (1962), shadowed by Armin Mohler's Die konservative Revolution in Deutschland 1918–1932. Grundriβ ihrer Weltanschauungen (1950)—soon to be joined by George Mosse (1964), Herman Lebovics (1969), and Walter Struve (1973). At this stage, with the exception of Fritz K. Ringer's The Decline of the German Mandarins (1967) and Reinhard Bollmus's study of Alfred Rosenberg's office and its opponents (1970), there was virtually nothing taking a broader social or institutional approach to the contexts of Nazi ideology and the sociology of knowledge under the Third Reich. Gerhard Kratzsch's Kunstwart und Dürerbund. Ein Beitrag zur Geschichte der Gebildeten im Zeitalter des Imperialismus (1969) stood very much alone as a nuanced, archivally researched case study alive to the complex ambivalences of cultural nationalism in the Wilhelmine years.

Abstract:
The Seweryn Udziela Ethnographic Musem in Cracow holds an impressive collection of old engravings, among which there are also copperplates by Cornelis Galle. He used selected prints from Amorum emblemata (1608) and Amoris divini emblemata (1615) by Otton van Veen and Pia desideria (1624) by Herman Hugo to create his own emblematic cycle on metaphysical relations between the Soul and Amor Divinus. The drawings from the works of Veen and Hugo were very popular in the seventeenth century and inspired numerous poets and editors around Europe. In the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, it was Hugo’s Pia desideria that aroused particular interest. The cycle was imitated and translated by e.g. Mikołaj Mieleszko SJ, Zbigniew Morsztyn, Aleksander Teodor Lacki, and Jan Kościesza Żaba. On three of Galle’s prints stored in the Cracow museum, an anonymous author wrote epigrams, unknown until now, that accompany the images taken from the cycle by Veen (no. 8 and 21) and by Hugo (II 5). This emblematic microcycle was, with all probability, written down at the end of the seventeenth or at the beginning of the eighteenth century by a nun or a monk in one of the Lesser Polish convents or monasteries. Possibly, the origins of the cycle may be linked with the Carmelite convent in Cracow. And whether it is the actual place where the cycle was created or not, it is a good point to begin studies on the employment of emblematic practices in Catholic convents and monasteries in the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century. Imported copperplates and woodcuts were a typical piece of the equipment of a cell. They were hung on the cell walls or were simply collected in sets of prints and often exchanged as gifts among nuns or monks, e.g. on the occasion of the New Year (an example of such a gift from 1724 is given in this paper). It was a common practice to write notes of diverse character on the reverse side of such prints, e.g. autobiographic details, short prayers or excerpts from sacred texts and religious literature. Still, the main purpose of the emblems was their application in everyday meditations and other forms of personal prayers. The three subscriptiones in the Ethnographic Museum in Cracow are also prayers of this kind, combining word and image.

Abstract:
This paper concerns the development of a central tenet of modern biochemistry: that cellular metabolism coordinates biological energy supply through the cyclical making and breaking of “energy-rich” phosphate bonds. This interpretation of intermediary metabolism was comprehensively set forth in two review articles published nearly simultaneously (though independently) in early 1941 by German biochemist Fritz Lipmann and Danish biochemist Herman Kalckar. Lipmann and Kalckar first met in the early 1930s in Copenhagen, where they were in frequent contact until 1939, when both left Denmark. Despite the similar claims advanced in Lipmann’s and Kalckar’s reviews, the two men’s presentations differed substantially with respect to their descriptions of “energy-rich” phosphate bonds and their target audiences. In order to explore the circumstances behind these divergences, this paper utilizes a “parallel lives” approach. By analyzing Lipmann’s and Kalckar’s lives in parallel, particular institutional contexts emerge as having been especially significant in shaping their differing interpretations of the power of phosphate bonds. The period that Lipmann spent in muscle researcher Otto Meyerhof’s laboratory (1927–30) conditioned his physiological interpretation of the role of phosphate bonds in cellular energy metabolism. Kalckar’s time at California Institute of Technology (1939–40)—where he was in regular communication with chemists such as Linus Pauling—played the most significant role in his decision to present the power of phosphate bonds from a chemical perspective. Ultimately, an examination of the life stories behind Lipmann’s and Kalckar’s 1941 reviews illuminates how older physiological perspectives were combined with recent advances in theoretical chemistry to explain how energy flows through living organisms.

El presente artículo expone cómo en Colombia la Ley 54 de 1990 definió la unión marital de hecho. Jurídicamente, la unión marital de hecho es una forma para constituir una familia por vínculos naturales, plasmada en el Estatuto Superior, el cual consagra esta unión como núcleo fundamental de la sociedad, con lo que adquiere calidad integrante en el Estado social de derecho, y obliga al Estado y a la sociedad a su protección integral a través del derecho penal como bien jurídico. El incesto, como realización del acceso carnal u otro acto sexual con un ascendiente, descendiente, adoptante o adoptivo, o con un hermano o hermana, desestabiliza y pone en peligro la institución familiar, y en ello la unión marital de hecho compuesta por parientes endogámicos es una conducta punible y no una sociedad patrimonial.

[Otto Hermann von der Howen. From Courland Patriot to Merciless Henchman of Russian Interests in the Duchy of Courland and Semigallia] The article describes the evolution of political activities of Otto Hermann von der Howen (1740–1806). He was one of the most influential politicians in the Duchy of Courland and Semigallia in the last decades of the state’s existence. When beginning his political activity he followed values instilled in him by his father and acted in the well‑understood interests of the duchy. He opposed Russian influences in Courland. He was not afraid of taking risks or sacrificing himself for the causes of his homeland and paid for his uncompromising attitude with three years of imprisonment in a Russian citadel. After his release he once more began to participate in the political life of the duchy, yet he discarded the ideals of youth and made politics his source of income. Witnessing the increasing influences of the Russian Empire in Courland he became their greatest advocate and stood at the head of the “Russian party” in the country. He did not follow any moral principles anymore. Not only did he deprive the Duke of Courland of considerable amounts of money, without any scruples, but also denied him his authority in the state. Otto Hermann von der Howen decisively contributed to the unconditional and direct incorporation of the Duchy of Courland and Semigallia to the Russian Empire, after 234 years of its existence. He was hated by his contemporaries and considered an anti‑hero by later generations. The article is the first such comprehensive (although certainly non‑exhaustive) a presentation of political activities of Otto Hermann von der Howen in Polish historiography.

Recenzowana monografia omawia dzieje Archiwum Państwowego w Szcze­cinie (Staatsarchiv Stettin) w okresie od wybuchu pierwszej wojny świato­wej do zakończenia drugiej wojny światowej. W tych latach dyrektorami archiwum byli kolejno: Hermann Hoogeweg (1913–1923), Otto Grotefend (1923–1930), Erich Randt (1930–1935) i Adolf Diestelkamp (1935–1945). W okresie II wojny światowej, w związku ze służbą wojskową Adolfa Die­stelkampa, funkcje kierownika archiwum pełnili Fritz Morré (1939–1941) i Hermann Gollub (1941–1945). Działalność archiwum została ukazana w monografii przez pryzmat funkcji, jakie pełnią instytucje tego typu (gro­madzenie, przechowywanie, opracowywanie i udostępnianie zasobu), na tle przemian politycznych i społecznych zachodzących w Niemczech. Dużo miejsca autor poświęcił pracownikom merytorycznym archiwum i prowa­dzonym przez nich badaniom naukowym. Ludzie i działalność, Archiwum Państwowe w Szczecinie, Naczelna Dyrekcja Archiwów Państwowych w Warszawie , Szczecin–Warsaw 2019, pp. 269 The reviewed monograph gives a description of the history of the State Archives in Szczecin (Staatsarchiv Stettin) from the beginning of the First World War to the end of the Second Word War. Within that period the Archives had following directors: Hermann Hoogeweg (1913–1923), Otto Grotefend (1923–1930), Erich Randt (1930–1935) and Adolf Diestelkamp (1935–1945). During the Second World War Fritz Morré (1939–1941) and then Hermann Gollub (1941–1945) deputized for Adolf Diestelkamp when he did military service. The monograph take a look at how the Archives performed its typical functions (collecting, preserving, processing and providing access to archival materials) in the context of the political and social transformation in Germany. The author puts a lot of emphasis on professional working in the Archives and their academic research to show the emergence of a new type of politically engaged archivist who joined the studies on Eastern Europe (deutsche Ostforschung).

Abstract:
El director argentino Israel Adrián Caetano realizó con El otro hermano (2017) una adaptación cinematográfica muy lograda de la novela Bajo este sol tremendo de Carlos Busqued (2009) en la que el pasado de la dictadura se vincula con el presente narrativo a través de la violencia de un ex militar de la fuerza aérea. El único afán de este protagonista llamado Duarte es la guita, que adquiere con secuestros y actos de corrupción, que forma parte de la violencia sistémica. En la película, Duarte es un tipo sórdido, todo en él es horrible y a la vez extrañamente atrayente, por lo que se correlaciona con la noción de lo abyecto de Kriste­va (1982). Su representación se distingue de la de los militares de la dictadura en el «cine de desaparecidos», como se demuestra con un breve análisis de Garage Olimpo (1999), de Marco Bechis. Concluyo que la personalidad abyecta, contradictoria de Duarte, caracteriza asimismo la ambigüedad de la violencia representada en El otro hermano, que provoca los mismos efectos de atracción y rechazo en el espectador implícito y lo llevan a una reflexión mediática y genérica.

Este ensayo busca ofrecer una mirada poco estudiada de los conflictos de la Independencia, partiendo del caso de Venezuela: el proceso de perdón y reinserción de los vencidos a la vida nacional. Para ello abordo, desde la Historia de la Paz, los casos de cinco realistas notables: uno de ellos indígena defensor de la causa del rey; otro español, dos veces amnistiado; otro, un militar venezolano criollo que hizo una labor importante por la educación de la república; otro, último marqués de Venezuela a favor del realismo y luego de la independencia y, finalmente, la hermana mayor de El Libertador, Simón Bolívar. A través de la Historia de la Paz los reincorporamos a nuestra conciencia histórica con una concepción equilibrada y conflictiva.

The article presents the dispute between Freud and Fließ concerning the bisexual theory of the latter. According to Fließ, Freud inadvertently conveyed the main ideas of this theory to his patient, Hermann Swoboda, who included them in his article, which he published. Not enough of this. The latter conveyed them to Otto Weininger, who also drew on them in his famous book Sex and Character. The result was public accusation of plagiarism made by Fließ against Swoboda and Weininger and the breaking of friendship with Freud. In the article, I argue that in this case the issue of alleged plagiarism is problematic and at least ambiguous, not allowing the formulation of categorical opinions.

Abstract In undertaking his 1919––21 revision of Otto Jahn's monumental W. A. Mozart, Hermann Abert argued the case for a complete overhaul of that book's allegedly outmoded methodology and content; and in keeping with the purportedly sweeping extent of his revision, Abert represented himself, confusingly, as both author and editor of the new edition. The stage was thus set for general acceptance of an erroneous notion that Abert had all but completely dismantled Jahn's book and erected a new one in its place. Reinforcing this persisting yet patently false impression, the recently published English edition, prepared by Cliff Eisen and translated by Stewart Spencer, omits the original author's name altogether from the title page, effectively completing the unjustified transfer of authorship from Jahn to Abert——unjustified in that despite Abert's claims of drastic revision, unacknowledged correspondences with the original are virtually ubiquitous. Comparison of pre- and post-Abert editions reveals the previously unrecognized extent of the later scholar's reliance on his predecessor. In addition to retaining Jahn's many-layered, elegant structure for the book, Abert has lifted many passages almost verbatim; and there are numerous others where he has merely rephrased Jahn's ideas without significantly altering the original content. Paradoxically, given Abert's wholesale expropriations, we may regard his celebrated endeavor to modernize Jahn as evidence for the enduring vitality of Jahn's extraordinary accomplishment.

De las muchas posibilidades de lectura de Antígona de Sófocles destacamos la naturaleza del conflicto trágico, que tiene sus raíces en valores anteriores al orden social establecido y que puede considerarse material útil para una refundación del estatuto político en la posmodernidad. A partir del comentario de texto señalamos que Antígona no atenta contra el orden social, sino que espera consolidarlo en un fundamento imperturbable; que encarna la crítica de la racionalidad instrumental, inaugurada por la sofística y reavivada sucesivamente en la modernidad; que afirma existencialmente una ética del amor fraterno como humanización del orden del universo. Proponemos ampliar la noción de hermano consanguíneo y extenderla a la idea de hermano como “el otro” en el marco de las sociedades posmodernas, espacios de intención multicultural, para tener un principio de rescate ético. En esta re-lectura se actualizan las nociones arcaicas de religiosidad, honra fúnebre y piedad familiar.

The three writers Otto Flake, René Schickele and Hermann Wendel met in Straßburg in 1901. Together with other artists and writers they founded the group ‘Das jüngste Elsaß’ (also known as ‘Der Stürmerkreis’). One of the purposes of this artistic group was to shed the ‘hybrid state’ of Alsace as a border region and instead urge that Alsace take on a mediating role in a future united Europe. Their pacifist European approach, which they adhered to during World War I and later on in exile, originated from controversial debates emerging from the extreme tensions caused by German and French nationalism. The three writers viewed Alsace as a symbol of Europe. For their ‘border literature’ Europe offered the possibility of refraining from the concept of nationhood, which is based on homogeneity and therefore violent exclusion, something in which they did not find themselves represented.

Intentamos mostrar de qué modo esta nueva producción de Caetano se distancia de sus producciones anteriores pertenecientes al género negro (Un oso rojo, Bolivia, Tumberos), a partir de la construcción de un mundo que se puede emparentar sin dificultad con la concepción deleuzeana de la imagen-pulsión, un mundo que ya no deja lugar para los códigos de las películas previas del director. Asimismo, tratamos de extender la tesis sobre la película y mostrar que la razón utilitaria y la animalidad aparecen como determinantes contemporáneas fundamentales del film noir en la actualidad.

En este artículo se examinan las prácticas de herencia en una familia tsotsil del municipio de Chenalho’ en Los Altos de Chiapas. Se argumenta que la unidad básica de la herencia se basa en prácticas sociales específicas, con contextos, reglas, estilos y discursos, y que los conflictos por la herencia refuerzan el liderazgo del padre y del hermano mayor en la familia patriarcal. El método de exposición es dialógico y perspectivista. En la primera parte un narrador relata la historia de los conflictos en su familia, y en la segunda otro narrador analiza lo expuesto por el primero. En conclusión, se muestran y analizan los principios por los que se rige la herencia en Chenalho’.

Abstract In 1942, one year after the occupation of Greece by the German “Wehrmacht”, the “Reichswirtschaftsministerium” set up the DEGRIGES (Deutsch-Griechische Warenausgleichsgesellschaft / German-Greek organization for the exchange of goods) for the control of trade between Germany and Greece. The president was Otto Braun, owner of the Berlin-based „Transdanubia“, an Import- Export-Company. Braun organised in the 1920s in Bavaria illegal arms depots, and commanded „Feme“-murders. In Hungary he supported the fascists, and achieves the „aryanization“ of Jewish companies. The focus of the investigation is on the activities of the DEGRIGES in the network of competing organizations like the greek branch of NSDAP, the Sudosteuropa-Gesellschaft, the SACIG (the Italian counterpart of DEGRIGES), and the Mitteleuropaischer Wirtschaftstag (MWT) − and on the competition with Hermann Neubacher, „Sonderbeauftrager“ of the Foreign Office for Greece, and Max Merten, one of the organizers of the deportation of the greek Jews to Auschwitz. In summary, it can be stated that the DEGRIGES was from 1942 until 1944 (when it was liquidated during the withdrawal of the “Wehrmacht”) an „agency for the wellarranged exploitation of Greece“.

AbstractIn 2021, the German Society of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery is celebrating the 100th anniversary of its foundation. The aim of this article is to present the main inventions and progress made in Germany before 1921, the date the society was founded. Three chronological periods are discernible: the history of otorhinolaryngology (ORL) in Germany until the beginning of the 19th century, focusing mainly on the development of scattered knowledge; the birth of the sub-specialties otology, laryngology (pharyngo-laryngology and endoscopy), and rhinology in the 19th century, combining advances in knowledge and implementation of academic structures; and the creation of the ORL specialty at the turn of the 20th century, mainly concentrating on academic organization and expansion. This period was crucial and allowed for the foundation of the German Society of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery on solid ground. Germany played an important role in the development and progress of ORL internationally in the 19th century with such great contributors as Anton von Tröltsch, Hermann Schwartze, Otto Körner, Rudolf Voltolini, and Gustav Killian to mention a few.

NKFIH projekt célja a Magyarországon fellelt csiszolt kőeszközök, szerszámkövek nyersanyagainak meghatározása, és származási helyének minél szűkebb lehatárolása. A projekt fő célkitűzéseiről, módszertanáról és várható eredményeiről 2020. márciusban tartottunk egy projektindító ülést az Archeometriai Műhely sorozat keretében. Eddigi kutatásaink alapján a nyersanyaglelőhelyek jelentős részben a Kárpát-medencén kívül esnek, a nyersanyagok régészeti elterjedése is több országot érint. A korábban nem, vagy csak részben vizsgált leletanyagok, nyersanyagok részletes feldolgozását, és a már vizsgált eszköztípusok, nyersanyagok új módszerekkel történő elemzését végezzük el. Felkutatjuk, megmintázzuk és elemezzük a potenciális nyersanyaglelőhelyek kőzettípusait. Az értékes leleteket főként roncsolásmentes módszerekkel vizsgáljuk (PGAA, OS-SEM-EDX a fő összetevők meghatározására), míg a nyomelemeket NAA-val mérjük. Adatainkból összeállítjuk a Magyarországi Csiszolt Kőeszközök Atlaszát. Reményeink szerint a projekt végére elkészítendő Magyarországi Csiszolt Kőeszközök Atlasza hasznos segítség lesz a kőeszközök archeometriájával foglalkozó kutatók számára.

ArgumentAnimals played an important role in the formation of psychoanalysis as a theoretical and therapeutic enterprise. They are at the core of texts such as Freud's famous case histories of Little Hans, the Rat Man, or the Wolf Man. The infantile anxiety triggered by animals provided the essential link between the psychology of individual neuroses and the ambivalent status of the “totem” animal in so-called primitive societies in Freud's attempt to construct an anthropological basis for the Oedipus complex in Totem and Taboo. In the following, we attempt to track the status of animals as objects of indirect observation as they appear in Freud's classical texts, and in later revisionist accounts such as Otto Rank's Trauma of Birth and Imre Hermann's work on the clinging instinct. In the 1920s and 1930s, the Freudian conception of patients' animal phobias is substantially revised within Hermann's original psychoanalytic theory of instincts which draws heavily upon ethological observations of primates. Although such a reformulation remains grounded in the idea of “archaic” animal models for human development, it allows to a certain extent to empiricize the speculative elements of Freud's later instinct theory (notably the death instinct) and to come to a more embodied account of psychoanalytic practice.

Anders Toftgaard: Amongst speaking statues and admonishing ghosts. Mazarinades in the collections of The Royal Library Mazarinade is a term for political writing that was published in different forms in France during (and related to) the Fronde (1648–1653). The Fronde was a series of civil wars that first broke out when Louis XIV (born 1638) was still a child, and Mazarin was the Chief Minister of France and responsible for the young king’s education. Mazarin governed the country together with the king’s mother, Anne of Austria. The term mazarinade covers pamphlets, letters, official documents, burlesque poetry, sonnets and ballads, discourses and dialogues.The Royal Library in Copenhagen holds a collection of mazarinades. The Copenhagen collection was overlooked by scholars and Hubert Carrier (who travelled widely) because it had not been properly catalogued. The collection of mazarinades in the Royal Library has now been catalogued by the author of the article, and the catalogue is available in Fund og Forskning online. The article serves as an introduction to this hitherto unknown collection of mazarinades. After a presentation of the Fronde, and the term mazarinade and its denotation, the article lists the rare and unique mazarinades in the collections of The Royal Library, Copenhagen and where possible, traces their provenance.The collection consists of 33 volumes of mazarinades that have been put together in the 19th century in order to form a single collection: Collection de mazarinades. Apart from this Collection de mazarinades there are other mazarinades in the holdings, stemming both from the Royal Library and from the University Library. The 33 volumes (one volume has been missing for years) have been grouped together by various subsets. One of these subsets is a collection of mazarinades created by Pierre Camuset, who lived during the time of the Fronde. Camuset introduces himself as “conseiller du roi, eslu en l’election de Paris”. Archival records show that he was appointed to this position on 9 December 1622, that in 1641 he married Agnès, daughter of Jean Le Noir, lawyer to the Parliament of Parisian, and that he died some years before 1670.In the Collection de Mazarinades, there are approx. 100 mazarinades which were considered rare or “rarissime” by Célestin Moreau in his Bibliographie des mazarinades (1850–1851). There are three mazarinades, which would seem to be unique; three mazarinades, which are not recorded in the existing bibliographies of mazarinades (made by D’Artois and Carrier, in the Bibliothèque Mazarine) but of which there are copies in other libraries. There is a mazarinade printed by Samuel Brown in The Hague, which has not been recorded elsewhere. Finally, there are 11 mazarinades printed by Jean-Aimé Candy in Lyon, of which only three, judging from existing catalogues and bibliographies, seem to exist in other libraries.Only few of the mazarinades were brought to Denmark during the Fronde. Most of them were collected by Danish 18th century collectors. Surprisingly, only a small part stems from the incredibly rich library of Count Otto Thott (1703–1785). When Thott’s library was auctioned off, his mazarinades were bought by Herman Treschow (1739–1797) who acted as a commission agent for numerous book collectors, and due to the detailed cataloguing in Thott’s auction catalogue, it would probably be possible to find the volumes from his library in a foreign library.Both Hans Gram (1685–1748) and Bolle Willum Luxdorph (1716–1788) owned copies of Gabriel Naudé’s Mascurat in which they wrote handwritten notes. Luxdorph was the great collector of Danish press freedom writings. In his marginal notes he compares a passage in Naudé’s text about common people appropriating the art of printing with his own experience of a servant who came up with songs that were “assez mechants” during the fall of Struensee on 17 January 1772: “Mon valet faisait aussi d’asséz méchans vers su aujet de la revolution du 17de janvier 1772”. Luxdorph’s reading of Mascurat is thus in close connection with his interest in writings on press freedom.The Mazarinades are valuable both for studies in history, literary history and history of the book. More specifically, the collection of Mazarinades in the Royal Library, on the one hand, through the example of Pierre Camuset, shows how an individual tried to get a grasp of an abnormal period, and on the other hand, through the example of Luxdoph, very clearly testifies to the 18th century interest in the history of the book and in historical periods with de facto freedom of the press.

Las cartas de llamada son cartas privadas escritas por personas ya emigradas a las Américas, con las cuales los destinatarios procuraban licencia de embarque para emigrar. El interés tanto de historiadores como de filólogos desde la primera edición de Otte, cubriendo el periodo entre 1540 y 1616, no ha parado. Esta contribución examina las formas nominales empleadas a lo largo de los siglos XVI a XIX, en las cartas de esposos a sus conyúges, identificándose cuatro periodos. Mientras que en el primer periodo, el siglo XVI, se notan formas como señora, hermana, mujer e hija, hasta la mitad del siglo XVIII prevalecen esposa e hija más alguna fórmula de afecto como esposa mía y querida de mis ojos. A partir de 1778, aumentan fórmulas parecidas al tratamiento moderno, especialmente querida + nombre propio.

El cine documental contemporáneo sigue buscando vías innovadoras para construir subjetividades. La propuesta que aquí se trae es de dos realizadores estadounidenses, Joshua Oppenheimer y Christine Cynn, junto a otro que custodia con recelo su identidad y figura en los créditos como Anonymous. Interesa apreciar cómo un proceso investigativo en una zona donde pulula la impunidad, como es el territorio de Indonesia, puede poner (muchas décadas después) ante la comunidad internacional los efectos de un genocidio orquestado por sendas fuerzas económico-políticas y llevado a cabo por los ejecutores, como Anwar Congo y Herman Koto, líderes de gánsteres y grupos paramilitares que siguen teniendo en la actualidad nexos con el gobierno democrático vigente. El presente documento revisa el documental danés The Act of Killing (2012) para observar dispositivos de violencia y las cercanías existentes en la configuración de los actos violentos a partir de representaciones e imaginarios extrapolados y reproducidos en medios de comunicación y (en ocasiones) artísticos como el cine y la televisión. También se pregunta qué papel tienen las víctimas en la cinta en tanto no son referenciadas de manera directa, más bien parecen invisibilizadas mientras se les otorga un poder descomunal a los victimarios.

En este artículo se propone una lectura del libro de Mariana Enríquez La hermana menor. Un retrato de Silvina Ocampo, publicado en Chile en 2014. Entre otras cosas, el análisis se focaliza en lo que se define como la figura de la biógrafa cautelosa; es decir, una biógrafa que, en la escritura de su texto, avanza con cautela, amedrentada. Esa cautela, ese amedrentamiento, se produce al menos por dos razones: por un lado, la imposibilidad de la biógrafa de acceder al archivo de Ocampo; por otro, el peso que sobre su escritura ejercen algunos postulados establecidos por ciertas entonaciones de la teoría literaria. En este sentido, el análisis se detiene especialmente en ciertos equívocos vinculados a la inscripción genérica del texto y, después, al modo como en él Enríquez da cuenta trabajosamente de la relación entre la vida y la obra de Silvina Ocampo.

Este proyecto de aulario, primo-hermano de otro en Gastón Berger, San Luis, que desarrollamos por encargo del Ministerio de Educación y el Banco Mundial, pretende responder a este contexto como la máquina perfecta, bella en su eficiencia y sin motor. Planteamos el diseño desde la sección, dotando al edificio de una gran cubierta doble y una gran celosía de fachada sur, un escudo en forma de “L” tumbada, que evita la radiación solar directa, pero es permeable al aire. Este escudo crea un efecto Venturi generando un flujo de aire constante entre envolvente y aulas reduciendo la temperatura interior. El edificio es constructivamente sencillo, adecuado a las posibilidades del lugar: bloques de hormigón construidos a pie de obra revestidos con mortero y vigas de acero de celosía.</p><p> </p>

András Bagol’s ouvre caught the attention of the ethnographers already in the early 20th century. His sheperd’s crooks, which were inlaid with wax and embellished with his-torical scenes or portraits of Hungarian heroes, were sought after among the wealthy collectors and public collections alike. They are pieces of art of the highest quality, in which the sheperds’ tradition of the Transdanubia is preserved. One of his works, which has been previously unknown, is kept in the museum of Győr: a sheperd’s crook with wax inlay from the year of 1877. This crook was made in honor of Kázmér Hegedűs, its central themes are, beside the customer’s fam-ily, the herds of horses on the great Hungarian Plains and the city of Pécs. Some previously unknown letters of Bagol written to Ottó Herman verify that he was a soldier in 1848-49 and was forced into hiding after the fall of the War of In-dependence. From the 1880s he resumed an active role in politics as a canvasser of the 48 Independence Party (48-as Függetlenségi Párt). One of his poems he wrote about the elections reveals his view of history, elements of which are indicated in the carvings of his many crooks as well.

Siguiendo las políticas morales de Augusto, Virgilio nos plantea en su Eneida dos prototipos femeninos contrapuestos, ambos relacionados con el héroe. Por un lado, Creúsa, quien exhibe muchas de las virtudes que se esperaban en la matrona romana. Por otro, Dido, que, si bien poseyó muchas de estas virtudes mientras estuvo casada con el asesinado Siqueo, ahora, sin pariente masculino que ejerza el necesario control sobre ella, cegada por la pasión que siente por Eneas, espoleada por las palabras de su hermana Ana y dominada por la impotentia, abandona la virtus que intentó ejercer como gobernante y experimenta una progresiva degradación a medida que se abandona al luxus que la conducirá a la muerte como única posibilidad de redención. Su suicidio será la causa del odio entre Roma y Cartago, y, a consecuencia del mismo, de la destrucción de esta última, mostrando así Virgilio que la decadencia moral a nivel individual puede provocar a largo plazo el declive y la desaparición de un Estado.

El propósito del presente artículo es demostrar que la Helena de Homero no es un híbrido humano-no humano, a pesar de que en la Ilíada y la Odisea el poeta parece reacio a elegir entre su origen divino, por un lado, y su apariencia y comportamiento humanos, por otro. Helena aparece en la literatura como hija de Zeus, hermana de gemelos semidivinos y esposa y madre de mortales. Supuestamente, fue la causante de la Guerra de Troya. Resulta irrefutable que ella se muestra como el centro de atención en sus acciones y discursos, ya que mientras actúa y habla, Helena es un par de los dioses, que no toma en cuenta seriamente a los mortales. Intentaré demostrar que la incapacidad del poeta para distinguir claramente entre los distintos personajes delata su predilección implícita por Helena como diosa disfrazada, más que como ser humano sobrenatural. La tradición y la recepción posteriores han reconocido que Helena funciona como una divinidad.
