Abstract:
The statistics of physics education are compulsory course with a lot of material descriptions so the lectures must be assisted by the use of teaching materials. The lectures of statistics of physics education that took place in the July-December 2017 semester illustrates that: 1) teaching materials are less attractive to students, 2) the assignments given are quite clear and sufficient in accordance with the level of thinking of students, 3) materials delivered by the lecturer is in accordance with the targets in the syllabus with some material is still abstract, 4) the lecture have been pursued in accordance with the syllabus but the methods used have not varied and 5) students learn material of statistic of physics education only from the lecturer explanation so that only a few students can answer statistical problems quickly and correctly. This indicates that it is need provided teaching materials with a cooperative problem solving model. The author has tried to design teaching materials of statistic of physics education with cooperative problem solving models with very valid criteria according to the assessment of six experts with educational qualifications of statistics and physics education. However, this teaching material has not been tested at normal conditions in the lectures so that the level of practicality has not been revealed. The aim of this study was to determine the practicality level of educational statistical teaching materials containing cooperative problem solving models according to users, namely lecturers and students who listed in the course. Type of research is research and devel-opment with the ADDIE model. The ADDIE model stands for Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluation. Abstract:
Lecturer attendance record is required by the university to know the presence of lecturers in teaching in class. In general condition, lecturer attendance is recorded on the attendance sheet, or input to web application accessed on a class computer. However, there are some problems in its implementation so that at the end, lecturer presence is carried out using a manual form where the academic staff needs to re-enter the lecturer attendance data into the applications. Based on the above, the authors designed and developed a lecturer attendance information system to record lecturers' attendance using radio frequency identification technology by implementing a near field communication card (NFC Card). The device used to record and read presence data during lectures, by tapping an Mi-fare NFC card to an NFC reader / writer device. The flow of this research method begins with a literature study of NFC card, observe the flow of lecture attendance process and data recorded into lecturer attendance sheet, analyzing the database design, the system design which has compatible with NFC reader and writer devices, designed system interface and continue to develop system. The result is system consists of master data, system attendance, verification and reporting module. The results show that NFC card implementation is more practical for lecturers in conducting lecture attendance and NFC card could be tapped out into an NFC device at a maximum distance up to 7 cm with the reading angle relative to NFC reader/writer with range 00 until 300 can read NFC Card.

This study is about thoughts on Gyeongyeongangseol which incorporates questions and answers during the royal lecture between Hong Yang-ho and King Yeoungjo and Jooyeongangseol which incorporates the questions and answers between Hong Yang-ho and Crown Prince Sado. Textbooks for Gyeongyeon and Seoyeon were scriptures for regular class and historical books for irregular class. It can be said that Gyeongyeon is based on discussion and Seoyeon is based on lecture.
Gyeongyeongangseol incorporates the content of lectures regarding the Book of Poetry, Mencius, Zhongyong and Sukheungyamejam provided to King Yeongjo. King Yeongjo evaluated Hong Yang-ho’s academic ability highly so appointed him as a royal lecturer for Crown Prince Sado. Influenced by Tangpyeong-ron of Soron School and Kanghwa School, Hong Yang-ho was progressive and reformative. During Gyeongyeon (royal lecture) with King Yeongjo, he highlighted the policy of living people based on democracy to make sure that rulers set an example for saving and citizens can enjoy actual benefits and demanded hiring talented people based on meritocracy.
Jooyeongangseol contains the content of lectures regarding the Analects of Confucius, Songgam, Mencius and Jachitonggamgangmok provided to Crown Prince Sado. The lectures for Crown Prince Sado focused on qualities required for a prospective king rather than practical policies for people. The lecture emphasized the importance of Rule of Ye and Wigijihak (learning for oneself). The difference is that he emphasized the policy respecting both civilian and soldier while the previous royal lecturer for Gyeongyeon and Seoyeon emphasize the principle of civilian government.

In the educational system, the successive arrangement of lectures and practical classes is of great importance. The lecture is considered the first step in preparing students for practical training. The problems posed in it find their own clear expression and a specific solution in practical training. It is not found to resemble a lecture, among other types of training. Each practical activity is considered a traditionally developing, strengthening activity and can also serve as a preparation for the active reception of the next lecture.

Abstract:
The connection between education and a country's economic and social development is unquestionable, and science and technology-related careers are of particular importance. Given the lack of vocations in these degrees, a number of mechanisms have been used to attract students, including science and technology conferences in secondary schools. Focusing on this type of lectures, this article aims to analyse the didactic aspects used by university lecturers who deliver this type of lectures. To this end, 16 teachers were interviewed using a structured interview. From the qualitative analysis of the interviews, we reached a series of results and conclusions, among which we would like to highlight the following: teachers see these lectures as a form of scientific dissemination which also helps to promote the degree courses they teach and serves as a support for attracting students; when choosing the content of the lecture, they mainly take into account the secondary school curriculum, including striking aspects and the results of their own research; the mediums used are mainly visual and supported by Do It Yourself techniques; the content is normally presented through presentations or practical laboratory exercises; finally, the documentation provided to students depends on the teacher giving the lecture, and there is no consensus on this point.

Students often experienced difficulties in communicating and understanding various very diverse cultures in Indonesia in particular and in foreign countries in general. Language and culture learning not only provided an understanding of the definition but students were required to be able to find their own knowledge. Lecturers must have concepts that spur students to be able to think critically and creatively. One of the appropriate learning concepts for teaching English for Tourism courses was the concept of CTL (Contextual Teaching And Learning). The concept made it easier for students to understand all the theories that were conveyed during the lecture. CTL made innovative, creative and effective learning. CTL modification in English for Tourism lectures could make lectures more creative, and require students to think more critically. This meant they were encouraged to connect between the materials taught with everyday life in the world of tourism. Keywords: Modification, CTL, English for Tourism

The paper presents the methodology of lectures of an innovative type. It is aimed at developing students' instrumental competences (ability to process information: create an associative array, paraphrase, interpret, assign to a concept; ability to organize information: to identify, differentiate, classify, establish a consequence, forecast; ability to analyze verbal and visual information; ability to find inconsistencies in reasoning, etc.). Understanding of educational information by students is rooted in self-study of the trainees, which creates conditions for development of their instrumental competences during the lectures. Learning outcomes in the intellectual and developmental education space is evaluated not according to the amount of information, given at the lecture, but to the depth of students’ understanding of this information and development of their instrumental competences, determining their ability to further self-education.

Abstract:
Purpose Information-centric networking (ICN) is an innovative paradigm for the future internet architecture. This paper aims to provide a view on how academic video lectures can exploit the ICN paradigm. It discusses the design of academic video lectures over named data networking (NDN) (an ICN architecture) and speculates their future development. To the best of author’s knowledge, a similar study has not been presented. Design/methodology/approach The paper is a visionary essay that introduces the background, elaborates the basic concepts and presents the author’s views and insights into academic video lectures that exploit the latest development of NDN approach and its applications. Findings The ICN paradigm is closely related to the levels of automation and large-scale uptake of multimedia applications that provide video lectures. Academic video lectures over NDN have: improved efficiency, better scalability with respect to information/bandwidth demand and better robustness in challenging communication scenarios. A framework of academic video lectures over NDN must take into account various key issues such as naming (name resolution), optimized routing, resource control, congestion control, security and privacy. The size of the network in which academic video lectures are distributed, the content location dynamics and the popularity of the stored video lectures will determine which routing scheme must be selected. If semantic information is included into academic video lectures, the network dynamically may assist video (streaming) lecture service by permitting the network to locate the proper version of the requested video lecture that can be better delivered to e-learners and/or select the appropriate network paths. Practical implications The paper helps researchers already working on video lectures in finding a direction for designing and deploying platforms that will provide content-centric academic video lectures. Originality/value The paper pioneers the investigation of academic video lecture distribution in ICN and presents an in-depth view to its potentials and research trends.

Abstract:
The involvement of bacteria in lowering the concentrations of heavy metal contaminants in the environment is one of the most recent topics of discussion in the field of microbiology. This topic hasn't been brought up much in microbiology lectures thus far in the classroom. Therefore, it is important to analyze the requirement for the construction of a microbiology practical model with the focus on investigating heavy metal-bioremediating bacteria as environmental polluting agents. The curriculum papers in the biology education study program were analyzed using quantitative and descriptive research methodologies, with a focus on the microbiology course. Additionally, this study used both closed- and open-ended questions. We studied a total of 45 fourth-semester microbiology students from four different institutions, six microbiology lecturers from several Indonesian universities, and four biology teachers from Tanjung Pinang. It was discovered that environmental bioremediation needs to be covered in more detail in microbiology lectures and practicum for aspiring biology teachers based on an analysis of the curriculum, students' perspectives, and instructors' perceptions. Lectures on the subject of heavy metal bioremediation should cover it in detail and should provide useful knowledge. The teacher believes that lab exercises have the potential to be a successful teaching method for this subject.

Abstract:
The authors have taken into account the experience of research and teaching at the Department of Microbiology, Virology and Immunology of Zaporizhia State Medical University, to formulate the basic principles for creating high quality video lectures for medical students, aiming to produce informative, structured and consistent lecture material. Depending on the format of the video lecture, the graphic material can be introduced as a presentation with screenshots (for example, in Microsoft Office 365, FastStone Capture, OBS Studio, etc.) or as a lecture recording with subsequent editing of materials and inclusion of certain fragments (illustrations, diagrams) etc. The latter option requires skills in video editing (Sony Vegas Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, etc.). Mastering the basic skills of working with these programs allows you to maximize the visualization of the material covered by the lecture, which significantly increases the efficiency of learning for the medical students. As part of distance learning, the authors suggested the idea of recording individual fragments of video lectures, where the lecturer explains the specialized material in a logical sequence. The paper also provides recommendations for stimulating the attention of listeners while watching video lectures and presents several methods of activating students' thinking processes. Among other things, discussion questions at the end of the lecture allow to activate students' thinking processes, integrate and analyze the lecture material. Students give the answers to these questions in the comments to the video, analyze the answers of other participants and present their own opinions on the topic of discussion, which promotes the development of critical thinking and group work skills. You can control the listeners' attention and intensify the audience by switching the audience's attention with emotional pauses and unexpected examples, or by asking questions that challenge the voiced material. The perspective for further development is the creation of video fragments for practical classes for students by demonstrating laboratory experiments conducted by a teacher in a specially equipped microbiological laboratory.

Abstract:
The article reports on the pedagogical activity of the researcher and writer Vladimir Klavdievich Arseniev (1872–1930). Having arrived in 1900 in Vladivostok for military service, he was studying the Russian Far East for 30 years in expeditions that contributed to the regional development. The researcher’s rich experience, extensive knowledge in various academic fields, and the storyteller talent made Arseniev a well-known educator who delivered popular lectures in various organizations. Educational institutions occupy a special place in this list. In some of them he only made reports, while in others he was on the staff and taught lecture courses that were part of the curriculum. He was a lecturer at the People’s University in Vladivostok, the Vladivostok Teachers’ Institute (then the Far Eastern State Pedagogical Institute named after K.D. Ushinsky), participated in the organization of the State Far Eastern University and lectured at its oriental department. Arseniev’s pedagogical activity was based on the one hand, on constant self-education and his own scientific work, and on the other hand, he always tried and improved teaching methodology and attracted students to research and practical work. Thus, Arseniev anticipated the requirements that today are imposed on higher education employees. His example is very demonstrative today, when the goal of higher education is to prepare students for future practical activities. The article is based on V.K. Arseniev’s publications and materials from his personal archives in the Amur Region Study Society (OIAK) in Vladivostok.

Abstract:
At the end of XIX - beginning of XX centuries members of the Omsk Medical Society began to give public lectures to the townspeople. During this period, doctors throughout the Russian Empire carried out active educational activities, the purpose of which was to familiarize society with new sanitary practices and prevent epidemics. The purpose of this article is to study the educational activities of Omsk doctors in the late 19th - early 20th centuries, to achieve which we will turn to the issues that the lecturers raised in their speeches and their professional qualifications. For their presentations, lecturers chose topics related to both general issues of the development of medical science and addressed local sanitary problems. So public lectures became a platform for discussing urban problems. Doctors acted as experts, both for the authorities and for the townspeople. Omsk doctors were welltrained specialists with extensive practical experience, as well as actively engaged in scientific activities. Reading public lectures gave them the opportunity to take part in the educational activities of the scientific societies of Omsk, as well as to do charity work.

Abstract:
The present paper is to study the meaning and functions of classical (full-time, “face-to-face”) lectures in the modern educational process. The essence of the lecture is revealed in the light of the social concept of Randall Collins' creativity and his sociology of intellectual networks. The study`s approach allows for interpreting lecture as an archetypal version of intellectual interactive ritual that provides reliable transmission of cultural capital from one generation of intellectuals to another. During the interaction successful participants of the described process acquire a high emotional potential necessary for intellectual creativity, which is determined by personal contacts of intellectuals “face to face”, as well as their positions in the intellectual network. The results of the study enable the authors to state that the lecture has such characteristics that make it a unique and irreplaceable way to gain intellectual experience for both the lecturer and the audience, and as a consequence, acts as the basis for the reproduction of the intellectual elite. Therefore, an online lecture can only be an addition to a classical lecture, without which this reproduction would become impossible, and stagnation would occur in science. Of course, only a small part of students and postgraduates will become outstanding scientists, but they will shape the science. The above considerations are followed by a number of illustrative examples from the history of education and personal long-term pedagogical practice of the authors. The paper concludes with the answers to standard reproaches against classical lectures as a form of education. The research has not only theoretical, but also practical significance, orienting young teachers to master the art of lecturing.

Abstract:
Graz University of Technology has a long tradition in doing technology-enhanced courses. Following the latest trends, as mentioned in the NMC Horizon Report [32], we reviewed the possibility to use a wearable technology, in our case the Google GlassTM, in courses to improve the interaction between the lecturer and the audience with a special focus on huge classes. The lack of interaction in traditional face-to-face lectures is a well-known problem with a long research history [4], [12]. New technologies in Audience Response Systems (ARS) offer new ways to improve the interaction between teacher and student by enabling to ask questions to the audience [5] to get instant feedback during a lecture. Currently many types of web-based ARSs are available on the market [15]. Our research focused on finding an ARS suitable for the visualization in the Google Glass display. Further we developed a prototype and described first practical experiences.
