Abstract:
The focus of software engineering has traditionally been oriented toward new software construction inspite of the fact that very substantial costs arise in the maintenance phase of the software lifecycle. A key element in the maintenance phase is "program understanding" because the individuals assigned this task are typically distinct from those on the development team. Tools to assist with program understanding have, nevertheless, received only modest attention in recent years. In this thesis the topic is explored within the context of the development of a particular program understanding tool called PUMP. PUMP (Program Understanding Tool for MODSIM Programs) is a tool developed to help understand simulation models written in the object-oriented simulation language called MODSIM programs. It has a simple graphical user interface (GUI) and may be used for both system exploration and for browsing purposes as part of a professional software development tool. It quickly displays and provides views of complex inheritance trees, making it an important tool for understanding object-oriented systems.

Abstract:
This work applies to an electronic solution for administration of the company's library. On the basis of an analysis of the current access and its defects a list of qualitative and functional requests for application, which is consequently drafted and implemented, has been compiled. The final system has a form of web application, which is available to its users through Internet browser from an arbitrary device connected to the company's computer net (eventually Internet), including mobile phones etc. Thanks to the fact that the program is based exclusively on open-source technologies, there are no license fees of third parties connected with its setting or operation. The application foremost enables its users (mostly employees of a company) to accede the online book catalogue, search it using different criteria, acquire information about available books and make reservations of the required books to be lent. Librarians within the system administrate especially a book catalogue and reservations and borrows of the books. The program strongly diversifies with its functionality from solution for classic public libraries -- it is possible to register and administrate there the private books of employees, information about current borrow of the given book are available to all users, it is allowed to the employees to dispose the borrows between themselves, users are able to insert commentaries to the books etc. As a part of this work there is a source code of the application and users' manual containing except for description of functions the preview of screens of the system as well.

Abstract:
The Field Study Report records the establishment of a theoretical model for examining aspects of complex innovations, the application of that model to the Commonwealth Participation and Equity Program in the ACT government sector using an historical perspective, and the drawing of conclusions occasioned by that, application. Based on the literature of the management of change, educational administration and educational politics as well as the history of the program, it is argued that specific groups of factors influencing the delivery and impact of the program may be identified and their effects described, with a view to guiding future delivery of major educational reform programs. The theoretical model for classifying and examining the relative importance of the factors is a synthesis based on the work of the researchers Hoy and Miskel (1982), with a major additional component, prompted by writers in the field of educational politics. The method of application also allows the discussion of two further underlying propositions. These are; (a) That the modes of delivery employed by the ACT Schools Authority for PEP evolved during the course of its implementation; (b) That the program had a discernible impact, in terms of its aims, but this impact, was modified qualitatively and quantitatively by the process of mutual adaptation and by other factors external and internal to the program. In a series of linked steps, the thesis examines the literature, drawing out a grouped collection of factors potentially influencing the program, describes the context, modes of delivery, aims and outcomes of PEP, categorises the identified factors according to their apparent relative influence, and uses these learnings to make predictions and conclusions about PEP and future system-wide reform initiatives. It is concluded that the underlying propositions of the thesis are confirmed. It is also argued that the study has highlighted the predominant influence of political factors, most groups of management factors and factors related to school organisation, whereas other factors are of lesser importance in moulding program delivery strategies and shaping program outcomes. As well, the thesis concludes that the particular framework adopted for the study possesses considerable potential for use in a variety of future research, and that the introduction of the factor-based structure as a means of carrying out historical research helps promote rigour, objectivity and credibility where there is a reliance on the involvement of a participant-observer to provide reflective data. In relation to PEP itself, it is concluded that the process of mutual adaptation and the influence of the multiplicity of factors ensured that the higher-order program outcomes such as institutionalisation of new curriculum definitions, the development of negotiated student, management and teaching/learning strategies and attitudinal changes about, the purposes and ownership of education, were modified even more significantly than the outcomes which could be measured in quantitative terms. A collection of specific suggestions for improved program delivery in the future is provided.

Entretanto, muitas instituições ainda apresentam limitações por não conseguirem disponibilizar de maneira rápida e organizada registros de saúde do paciente como a prescrição e evolução de enfermagem que, junto com outras informações de responsabilidade da enfermagem, representam 50% de todo registro do paciente. Nesse sentido, propôs-se um framework capaz de centralizar, organizar e padronizar o registro e consulta de informações de prescrição e evolução de enfermagem com vistas a possibilitar o acesso por meio de dispositivos móveis. Para a definição do framework foi proposto uma arquitetura baseada em camadas, tornando o framework mais genérico, com isso, de mais fácil adaptabilidade às necessidades de ambientes variados. Possibilitou ainda acesso em tempo real dos registros dos pacientes. A demonstração da viabilidade do framework ocorreu por meio do desenvolvimento de um protótipo em uma instituição de saúde e através de treinamentos e questionários aplicados aos profissionais que avaliaram aspectos de usabilidade (avaliação de satisfação) e motivacional. O uso de dispositivos móveis possibilitou acesso rápido a informações simultaneamente, por qualquer profissional, de qualquer paciente em qualquer área que disponibilize acesso ao protótipo, respeitando o acesso e sigilo dessas informações. O framework obteve resultados promissores sendo caracterizado como muito interessante e eficiente com pontuações respectivamente de 31,43 e 32,86, em uma escala de 0 a 36. Obteve ainda índices de satisfação em 88,57% na facilidade de utilização e 85,71% na organização das informações apresentadas sendo que o grau de satisfação foi avaliado em 91,84%.<br>With the advance of technology new solutions have been proposed to support health professionals to assist their patients. However, many institutions do not make patient's health records available. Nursing evolution and prescription along with other types of nursing information represent 50% of all patient's data. Because of the dynamicity required by nursing tasks, the simultaneous access to this kind of information in any physical location in the institution is another problem that should be handled. Based on such issues, it was proposed a framework responsible for centralizing, organizing, and standardizing the gathering and searching for nursing evolution and prescription information. Moreover, this framework also intends to make this information available to mobile devices. It was developed a prototype to a health institution to demonstrate the viability, and questionnaires were applied to professionals onsite who assessed aspects related to usability and motivation. Due to the use of mobile devices, health professionals could access, respecting security issues, any patient's information any time and at any place simultaneously. The framework had promissory results and was characterized as very interesting and efficient with 31.43 and 32.86 scores respectively, in a 0 to 36 scale. The satisfaction index related to the usability aspect was 88.57% and 85.71% related to how information was presented. The overall satisfaction grade was 91.84%.

O sector dos eventos cresceu essencialmente a partir dos anos 90 e acompanhou directamente as mudanças e os novos paradigmas da indústria turística (Bowdin, McDonnell, Allen, Harris & O´ Tool, 2003). Perante um consumidor independente e activo que procura viver experiências que superem as suas expectativas, os eventos ganharam peso e tornaram-se num factor aceso da competição entre os destinos, podendo contribuir não só para atrair turistas, como também para os fidelizar. A gestão estratégica dos destinos, o turismo de eventos e os novos consumidores constituem os temas centrais da fase de revisão bibliográfica desta investigação. Ao nível empírico, seleccionaram-se a região do Algarve e o Programa de eventos Allgarve. A partir de inquéritos recolhidos junto do público participante em eventos associados às áreas temáticas de Animação e Música Pop, da edição Allgarve´11, analisaram-se questões como a fidelização, a satisfação, a motivação e a percepção do Programa. Ainda foi possível caracterizar o tipo de público que participou naqueles eventos e as suas recomendações relativamente ao Programa. A utilização do programa Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) no tratamento dos dados recolhidos, possibilitou a realização de várias análises estatísticas. Da análise descritiva apurou-se que, apesar de uma baixa percentagem de participações em edições anteriores, verificaram-se níveis de satisfação elevados relativamente à experiência vivida. Ainda se verificou que o público analisado construiu uma imagem positiva do Programa, reconhecendo-lhe prestígio, atractividade e capacidade de contribuir para dinamizar a oferta cultural da região do Algarve. Através da Análise de Correlação Canónica Não Linear (OVERALS) e do método K-Means, comprovou-se a existência de uma relação entre satisfação e intenção de recomendar a experiência a terceiros, na medida em que dos 191 inquiridos satisfeitos, todos revelaram intenção de recomendar os eventos Allgarve a familiares e amigos e 111 têm intenção de voltar a participar no Programa. Independentemente das falhas detectadas, concluiu-se um balanço positivo do Programa Allgarve que, após cinco edições, poderia finalmente ficar ligado à imagem da região, diferenciando-a nos espectros da cultura e do entretenimento.<br>The events sector grew up essentially since the 90´s and followed directly the changes and the new paradigms of the tourism industry. (Bowdin, McDonnell, Allen, Harris & O´ Tool, 2003). Facing now an independent and active consumer, which is constantly looking for authentic and original new experiences that can exceed their expectations, events are now more than ever the main factor that distinguishes destinations. Currently, events not only contribute to attract new tourists, but also to show their loyalty to the destination. Strategic management of destinations, along with event tourism and the new consumers constitute the main topics of the literature review of this research. The Algarve region and the “Allgarve” Program were selected at an empirical level. Using the data from a survey conducted on an audience that attended “street artist events” and Pop music concerts in the “Allgarve´11”, questions like loyalty, satisfaction, motivation and perception about the Event´s Program, are the main subjects analyzed. It was also possible to make a description of this audience, as well as their recommendations, suggestions and preferences regarding the “Allgarve” Program. The application of the software “Statistical Package for the Social Sciences” (SPSS) in the analysis of the collected data, allowed the development of several statistical analyses. From the descriptive analyzes of the collected data, it was concluded that despite a low rate of participations in previous editions, satisfaction levels were higher in relation to the lived experience. We also concluded that the audience built a positive image about the Program, recognizing its prestige, attractiveness and capacity, contributing to the growth of Algarve´s cultural offer. The application of Nonlinear Canonical Correlation Analysis (OVERALS) and of the K-Means method, supported the relation between satisfaction and intention to recommend the experience to others, since all of the 191 satisfied interviewees revealed the intention to recommend “Allgarve” Events to family and friends, as well as 111 of them intend to return and participate again. Despite of its flaws, positive conclusions were reached, and after its five editions, the program could finally have been linked to the region’s image, distinguishing it in a whole range of cultural events and entertainment.

Sistemoje turėjo būti realizuotas užsakovo pageidautas funkcionalumas. Taip pat buvo siekiama sukurti kuo paprastesnę, tačiau funkcionalią vartotojo sąsają.<br>This work is a student ride information system for Kretinga district education department. The project was designed to make the system work fast and stable. The system had to be realized in the customer expressed requirements for functionality. It was also aimed to create both simple and functional user interface.

Nowadays, many important activities in our lives involve the web. However, the software and protocols on which web applications are based were not designed with the appropriate level of security in mind. Many web applications have reached a level of complexity for which testing, code reviews and human inspection are no longer sufficient quality-assurance guarantees. Tools that employ static analysis techniques are needed in order to explore all possible execution paths through an application and guarantee the absence of undesirable behaviours. To make sure that an analysis captures the properties of interest, and to navigate the trade-offs between efficiency and precision, it is necessary to base the design and the development of static analysis tools on a firm understanding of the language to be analysed. When this underlying knowledge is missing or erroneous, tools can't be trusted no matter what advanced techniques they use to perform their task. In this Thesis, we introduce KPHP, the first executable formal semantics of PHP, one of the most popular languages for server-side web programming. Then, we demonstrate its practical relevance by developing two verification tools, of increasing complexity, on top of it - a simple verifier based on symbolic execution and LTL model checking and a general purpose, fully configurable and extensible static analyser based on Abstract Interpretation. Our LTL-based tool leverages the existing symbolic execution and model checking support offered by K, our semantics framework of choice, and constitutes a first proof-of-concept of the usefulness of our semantics. Our abstract interpreter, on the other hand, represents a more significant and novel contribution to the field of static analysis of dynamic scripting languages (PHP in particular). Although our tool is still a prototype and therefore not well suited for handling large real-world codebases, we demonstrate how our semantics-based, principled approach to the development of verification tools has lead to the design of static analyses that outperform existing tools and approaches, both in terms of supported language features, precision, and breadth of possible applications.

Abstract:
There is a great variety of software solutions which improve quality of work and increase productivity. Nevertheless there still is a demand for specialized software sollutions, often coupled to particular production systems. In this work author approaches such a concrete subject of computer hardware and repair in small and medium enterprise. Proposed information system not only allows internal administration of service requests within a company, but also provides complete status and process overview for customers accessing company's intranet. This is a unique solution of a kind as others are too general and do not fullfil specific demands posed in the specification. The main subject of this work is software design, development and investigation. Analysis of current software technology platforms was performed and the best deployment platform LAMP (Linux-Apache-MySQL-PHP) was selected. Modular system design provided easy system development and future extendability as well as integration into other portals. Final resulting information system incorporates a number of advanced networking and programming technologies: template engine, certificate based security, data encryption engine and others. Implemented software is customized to meet the needs of particular enterprise and is currently used as part of its' intranet and service network. Legal open source technologies were mostly used for developing the product.

Abstract:
This study examined the effectiveness of a family counseling intervention program called the Parent Monitoring Program (PMP) on reducing the rate of recidivism with first-time juvenile offenders in New Orleans, Louisiana. The PMP is a multimodal treatment intervention that combines individual, family, and group, counseling services to juvenile offenders and their families. Pugh, Force, Rault, and Triche (2000) reported that with effective and innovative family and community based intervention programs, juvenile offenders can be deterred from further delinquent behaviors. There is a great need for research studies to examine effective interventions that address reducing the rate of recidivism with juvenile crime (Cullen & Grandeau, 2000). This study looked at the differences in recidivism rates for the treatment group, juvenile offenders who completed the PMP, versus the control groups those juvenile offenders who either did not complete the PMP, or who refused the PMP services. The participants (N=1144) were mainly African Americans of low SES who committed minor offenses from the years 2001-2003. A logistic regression analysis was conducted to find out the differences in recidivism rates between the treatment and control groups, as well as levels of offenses in terms of recidivism rates and gender differences. Results of the analyses indicated that those participants who completed the PMP had lower recidivism rates than those who did not complete or refused the PMP service. In addition, level of offenses was positively associated in terms of recidivism (p <.001). However, in terms of recidivism, there were no differences between males and females xiii ( p =.108). Faculty members in counselor education can use the findings from this study to pay attention to the problems that this special population faces. Counselors can become more aware of the importance of a multimodal approach with emphasis on family involvement and early intervention. The multi cultural issues and risk factors that surround this population are of relevance to the curriculum in counselor education programs. Future research should look at the impact that religious organizations have on juvenile delinquency in terms of recidivism rates and the important role that the community plays.

A partir desse cenário, foi criado, em 2008, o Programa de Intervenção Pedagógica (PIP), com o desafio de reverter a realidade detectada. Seu principal objetivo foi melhorar o aprendizado dos alunos e reduzir a repetência, tendo como aspiração o pensamen-to: “Toda criança lendo e escrevendo até os oito anos de idade”. Neste contexto, pretende-se compreender como as ações do PIP foram implementadas e a forma como os diferentes atores escolares se apropriaram do programa e sua influência no processo de desenvolvimento dos alunos dos anos iniciais da alfabetização. Desta forma, a análise dos efeitos do PIP é um instrumento valioso para reforçar as boas práticas existentes ou sugerir mudanças nos rumos de gestão do programa. Para subsidiar esse estudo foi feito uma comparação com os Programas de Intervenção Pedagógica do Estado do Ceará – Programa de Alfabetização na Idade Certa (PAIC) e do Estado do Espírito Santo (O Direito do Aprendizado – Ler, escrever e Contar - O Ponto de partida para todo a aprendizado). Os programas escolhidos têm o mesmo foco na melhoria do desempenho dos alunos que se encontram nos anos iniciais da Alfabetização. A comparação possibilitará evidenciar as boas práticas e oportunidades de melhoria quanto à concepção; planejamento e implementação; es-tratégias de gerenciamento; resultados e responsabilização. As ações exitosas de-senvolvidas nos programas PAIC e o Direito ao Aprendizado justificam o empenho em compartilhar informações de forma a promover um salto de qualidade no PIP, no sentido de aprimorar o programa para uma maior efetividade.<br>Based on the Literacy Assessment Program (PROALFA 2006), the State Sec-retariat of Education of Minas Gerais showed that 31% of the estate educational sys-tem’s students were coming to the 3rd year of elementary school without knowing how to read words and, therefore, not having the appropriate literacy level according to their age. Considering this scenario, in 2007 was created the Pedagogical Inter-vention Program (PIP) with the challenge of reversing the reality detected. PIP’s main objective was to improve student learning and reduce repetition, having the motto: “Every child reading and writing by the age of eight”. In this context, this thesis in-tends to understand how PIP's actions were implemented and how the different ac-tors of the schools have appropriated the program and its influence on the develop-ment process of students in the early years of literacy. Thus, the analysis of the ef-fects of PIP is a valuable tool to strengthen the existing good practices or suggest changes in the direction of the program's management. To support this study, a comparison was made with Ceará and Espírito Santo’s Pedagogical Intervention Program – accordingly Literacy at the Right Age Program (PAIC) and The right of Learning - Reading, writing and Counting - The point of departure for all the learning. The chosen programs have the same focus, namely: improving the performance of students who are in the initial years of literacy. The comparison will enable to evi-dence good practices and opportunities for improvement on the design, planning and implementation, management strategies, results and accountability of the programs. The successful actions developed in the programs PAIC and The right of Learning justify the commitment to share information in order to promote a qualitative leap in PIP with the purpose of improving the program's the effectiveness.

Neste tipo de ensino, deparamo-nos, não poucas vezes, com alunos que apesar de se depararem com a possibilidade de usufruir de um ensino personalizado e diferenciado, não estão sensibilizados para as suas necessidades e dificuldades individuais, nem tão pouco para identificar quais as estratégias possíveis para as ultrapassar, havendo assim a necessidade de uma intervenção personalizada que permita orientar estes jovens, ajudando-os a desconstruir preconceitos e construir novas crenças e realidades. O principal objectivo desta investigação é elaborar e aplicar um programa que responda às necessidades e dificuldades dos alunos em termos de aprendizagem, isto é, um programa de instrução cognitiva de estratégias com a finalidade de proporcionar condições e experiências de aprendizagem favoráveis. A amostra desta investigação foi constituída por dois grupos, o grupo experimental e o grupo de controlo, com 8 elementos cada. O PIP – Programa de Intervenção Pedagógica, é um programa de treino cognitivo, enquadrado essencialmente, na teoria do processamento da informação e dirigido a adolescentes que frequentam entre o 7º e 9º ano de escolaridade. Pressupõe a técnica da dinâmica de grupo. Os resultados obtidos vão no sentido de considerar que os sujeitos tendem a abordar as suas aprendizagens segundo uma motivação e uma estratégia profundas. No Grupo experimental, a maioria dos alunos que beneficiou da aplicação do programa melhorou significativamente em termos de aproveitamento, salvo raras excepções, motivadas, sobretudo, pelo absentismo desses alunos às sessões. No que diz respeito ao Grupo de Controlo, verifica-se que a maioria dos alunos não se consegue organizar, nem tão pouco desenvolver estratégias de aprendizagem que se traduzam em bons resultados escolares. This investigation project was developed in a Vocational/ Professional School. In this kind of teaching we usually find students that, in spite of the possibility of having an individual and a different type of teaching, are not conscious of their needs and individual difficulties. They are not also able to identify possible strategies in order to solve their problems. So, they needed an individual intervention that allowed to guide these young students, helping them to open their minds and build new beliefs and realities. The main goal of this investigation is to do and use a program that answers to the needs and difficulties of the students in terms of learning, a program of cognitive instruction of strategies with the objective of giving those good conditions and experiences of learning. The sample of this investigation had two groups, the Experimental and the Observation Group with eight elements each. PIP- Pedagogical Intervention Program is a cognitive training program which is mainly based in the information process theory, which is directed to teenagers that attend the 7th and 9th grade. This program includes the group dynamic technique. The obtained results show that the students approach their learnings if they are motivated and if they know which profound strategies are going to be used. In the Experimental Group the most part of students, to whom the program was used, significantly improved in terms of results, however there were some exceptions because some students often missed the sessions. In the Observation Group the most part of the students could not organize themselves nor develop learning strategies that allowed them to obtain good learning results. Ce projet de recherche a été développé dans l'univers d'une École Professionnelle. Dans ce type d'enseignement nous nous rencontrons, non peu de fois, avec des élèves qui malgré de se rencontreront avec la possibilité d'avoir l'usufruit d'un enseignement personnalisé et différencié, ne sont pas sensibilisés pour leurs nécessités et difficultés individuelles, ni aussi peu pour identifier à lequel les stratégies possibles pour que les dépassent, en y ayant ainsi la nécessité d'une intervention personnalisée qui permette de guider ces jeunes, en les aidant a construire à de nouvelles croyances et réalités. Le principal objectif de cette recherche est élaborer et appliquer un programme qui réponde aux nécessités et aux difficultés des élèves dans des termes d'apprentissage, ceci est, un programme à d'instruction plus cognitive de stratégies avec la finalité de fournir à conditions et expériences d'apprentissage favorables. L'échantillon de cette recherche a été constitué par deux groupes, le groupe expérimental et le groupe de contrôle, avec 8 éléments chaque. PIP - Programme d'Intervention Pédagogique, est un programme d'entraînement cognitif, encadré essentiellement, dans la théorie du traitement des informations et dirigé à des adolescents qui fréquentent de le 7º ou 9º année de scolarité. Il estime la technique de la dynamique de groupe. Les résultats obtenus vont dans le but de considérer que les sujets tendent à aborder leurs apprentissages selon une motivation et une stratégie profondes. Dans Grupo expérimental, à la majorité des élèves qui ont bénéficié de l'application du programme se sont améliorés significativement dans des termes d'exploitation, excepté de rares exceptions, motivées, surtout, par l'absentéisme de ces élèves aux sessions. En ce qui concerne Grupo de Observation, il se vérifie que à la majorité des élèves il ne se réussit pas à organiser, ni aussi peu développer des stratégies d'apprentissage qui se traduisent dans les bons résultats scolaires.

Web Services have been the dominant technology in business integration and implementation of service oriented architectures. PHP is a server-side language popular for development of applications. A significant advantage of PHP is its light weight development for feature-rich web applications. Typically, PHP is used for making good-looking front end user interfaces; Java or other programming languages are used to develop the back end application. A secure and robust way for PHP programs to call back-end services is by Web Services. However, when the Web Service operations have complex interfaces, writing PHP client code can be difficult and error-prone. This thesis research seeks to develop a Web service-PHP program middleware that automatically handles the client-side Web Service calls. Two Web Services are developed, as well as two Web applications that consume the two Web Services, and experiments that demonstrate the usage of the WS-PHP middleware component are conducted.

Porque es un trabajo, porque lo importante está afuera... Sí. Afuera de esta cama, y afuera de la oficina. Y fuera de cualquier entendimiento. Una tarde Carlos –Costas, mi ex jefe hace algunos meses, hoy flamante director de Radio ADN– dijo que reconocía en mí sus "mismos niveles de pasión y desquicio con la radio". Ahí mismo me quise poner a llorar. En una cocina chica, mientras escuchaba que Jean-Philippe –Cretton, el conductor del programa que produzco en la radio– decía que Jorge González volvía a caer en la clínica tras el accidente cerebelo-vascular que lo había dejado fuera de los escenarios. No sabía qué pesaba más, si la emoción profunda de que lo más parecido a un hermano mayor, el tipo que me ofreció la pega soñada y apostó por mí hasta que tuvo que irse a dirigir una de las radios más importantes del país, se vea reflejado en mí; o la pena de saber que uno de los hombres más inspiradores e influyentes de mi vida estuviera grave en una clínica. Tampoco sabía cuán inmaduro era el hecho de que ambas cosas lograran congelarme en un momento en el que había que tener la mente fría y supervisar una puesta al aire impecable... 4 Todo esto estaba pasando en la radio, un lugar donde suele regir más corazón que otras cosas, al menos en los que nos tomamos esto en una dimensión mucho más que de trabajo.

Introduktion: I juli 2012 uppdaterades regelverken för farmakovigilans inom Europa och flera förändringar gjordes i de bestämmelser som rör säkerhetsstudier på godkända läkemedel. En sammanställning av dessa behövdes för att lyfta fram viktiga bestämmelser och ge en tydligare överblick av de myndighetskrav som berör PASS (Post-Authorization Safety Studies) och PSP (Patient Support Programs).   Syfte: Projektet syftar till att analysera och tolka regelverk och riktlinjer gällande PASS och PSP inom Europa samt utreda vad som gäller för PASS i de skandinaviska länderna. Detta för att lyfta fram viktiga bestämmelser och underlätta tolkningen för berörda företag.   Material och metoder: Huvuddelen av projektet bestod av en litteraturstudie där fokus låg på lagar och riktlinjer inom Europa. Informationsinhämtning skedde även genom intervjuer med personal på Bayer AB och Läkemedelsverket. Jämförelser har sedan gjorts mellan svenska, norska och danska regelverk.   Resultat: Myndighetskraven för PASS och PSP skiljer sig åt i vissa avseenden. Etikgodkännande krävs för PASS men inte för PSP och slutrapporten från en PASS granskas av läkemedelsmyndighet medan PSP inte ger någon slutrapport. För PASS krävs i Sverige och Norge ett etikgodkännande vilket inte krävs i Danmark. I Danmark ska dokumentation om studien skickas till läkemedelsmyndigheten om Danmark är referensland eller rapportör för produkten. I Sverige och Norge krävs ingen kommunikation med läkemedelsmyndigheten.   Konklusion: PASS syftar till att studera säkerheten hos läkemedel medan PSP primärt är ett stöd för patientvården i vilket vissa säkerhetsaspekter kan fångas upp sekundärt. Trots att regelverken rörande farmakovigilans gäller för samtliga EU-länder har olika tolkningar gjorts i de skandinaviska länderna och de lokala regelverken skiljer sig åt i vissa avseenden.

It exposes its definition and basic features, the steps to facilitate proper implementation and a historical review about the existing projects in universities of America and Europe. In Peru, there are several initiatives,among which the work of the Consortium of Universities and currently the start of thePUCP Healthy Program at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru. Finally, it is done abrief review of the work implemented to date by this program.<br>Se presenta la propuesta de universidades saludables como un enfoque de promoción de la salud viable y necesario a trabajar en las instituciones de educación superior. Introdução O modelo de aprendizagem em serviço é um elemento do processo educativo presente nos cursos destinados aos profissionais da área da saúde. O Programa de Aprimoramento Profissional (PAP), pertencente à Secretaria de Estado da Saúde de São Paulo (SES/SP) e administrado pela Fundação do Desenvolvimento Administrativo (Fundap), órgão do governo do Estado de São Paulo, desde sua criação em 1979, apresenta-se como formador de recursos humanos para o Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS). O programa ocorre em instituições públicas e privadas do Estado de São Paulo e oferece bolsas para profissionais recém-formados da área da saúde, denominados aprimorandos. Esse Programa de treinamento em serviço, conta com um supervisor que planeja as atividades que serão desenvolvidas ao longo do curso e orienta os aprimorandos no desenvolvimento das atividades propostas. Objetivo Caracterizar os supervisores do Programa de Aprimoramento Profissional e compreender seu desenvolvimento profissional, a influência e o significado dessa atividade na sua trajetória profissional. Procedimentos metodológicos A população do estudo foi constituída pelos supervisores credenciados no PAP em 2006, por meio do credenciamento e recredenciamento dos programas realizado pela SES/SP e pela Fundap. Para obtenção dos dados de caracterização, foram solicitadas aos referidos órgãos as informações sobre os supervisores, contidas no banco de dados do credenciamento 2006. Para os dados relativos ao exercício da supervisão e a questão da atualização do supervisor no processo de treinamento em serviço foi utilizado um formulário com perguntas abertas, enviado por e-mail. As respostas foram tratadas em uma abordagem centrada na análise de conteúdo de BARDIN (1977). Resultados Os resultados obtidos com o estudo revelaram que o supervisor do PAP possui o seguinte perfil: a maioria é constituída por mulheres, concentradas em uma faixa etária entre 41 e 50 anos, formadas em diferentes áreas da saúde, com predominância na área da medicina e enfermagem, com titulação acadêmica altamente qualificada, com título de mestrado e doutorado; algumas delas foram aprimorandas, estando na função há mais de quinze anos. Em relação aos resultados das respostas das perguntas abertas. foram criadas quatro categorias de análise, a saber: 1 - Os caminhos de chegada do supervisor, 2 O que aconteceu com o profissional ao exercer a supervisão , 3 - Entraves e dificuldades no exercício da supervisão e 4 - A construção do papel de educador no exercício da supervisão.<br>Introduction In-service learning models are part of the educational process available in courses directed to health professionals. The Professional Improvement Program (PAP), offered by the Health Department of São Paulo State (SES) and managed by the Administrative Development Foundation (Fundap), a São Paulo State\'s governmental agency, since his creation in 1979, presents itself as a human resource developer for the National Health System (SUS). The program takes place in public and private institutions at São Paulo State and offers grants for recent health/medical graduates called in-developers. This in-service program has a supervisor who plans the activities to be performed throughout the course and guides the in-developers to carry out the planned activities. Objective To characterize the Professional Improvement Program s supervisors and understand their professional development, the influence and the meaning of this activity in their professional career. Methodology Study population consists of the certified supervisors in the PAP in 2006 through the Accreditation and Re-accreditation of programs offered by the Health Department of São Paulo State and by the Administrative Development Foundation (Fundap). Data for the characterization was requested from SES and Fundap about the supervisors information in the data bank of the Accreditation 2006. For data regarding supervision performance and the issue about updating the supervisor in the training process, a form with open questions was sent by email to them. The answers were treated using the approach centered in content analysis by BARDIN (1977). Results: The results obtained with the study revealed that PAP supervisors has the following profile: women majority, concentrated in age group between 41 and 50 years old, graduated in different health areas, mainly in medicine and nursery, with academy title highly qualified, with doctor and master degree, been some of them improvement themselves, acting in function more than 15 years. In relation to answer results to open questions, were created four categories of analyses, to mention: 1 Arrival ways to supervisor. 2 Acting supervision what happens to professional, 3 Restraints and difficults in doing supervision e 4 Building educator role in doing supervision.

Como objeto de estudo, a presente dissertação analisa os possíveis entraves na relação entre a Equipe Regional do PIP e as escolas acompanhadas, que não têm propiciado, na SRE Pouso Alegre, a aprendizagem significativa de todos os alunos, dificultando, por isso, a melhoria dos resultados das avaliações externas e o alcance das metas estabelecidas. Tal pesquisa é relevante, visto que temos um número considerável de alunos nos anos finais do Ensino Fundamental que não consolidaram ao menos as capacidades básicas necessárias à continuidade dos estudos. Isso foi observado pela análise dos relatórios de visita elaborados no período de agosto de 2011 a novembro de 2012, em encontros realizados nas 74 escolas da jurisdição, todas acompanhadas por eles. Com essa análise, foi possível discutir a implementação regional da política e propor alternativas viáveis ao trabalho dos analistas do PIP, visando garantir condições adequadas de aprendizagem e sucesso na trajetória escolar dos alunos, foco principal do Programa.<br>This dissertation has as its aim to analyze the implementation of the Pedagogical Interference Program (PIP) by the State Secretariat of Education of Minas Gerais, focusing on the work of PIP’s regional analysts at the schools of the Regional Education Superintendence (SRE) of Pouso Alegre. As an object of study, the present dissertation analyzes the possible hurdles in the relationship between PIP’s regional team and the monitored schools which have not produced, at the Pouso Alegre SRE, a meaningful learning from all their students, and therefore, the improvement in high stakes tests and reaching their established targets. Such research is relevant, given that there is a considerable number of students from a late years of middle school who have not at least consolidated the basic skills necessary to continue their studies. This was observed through an analysis of the visit reports written by the analysts from the Pedagogical Interference Program between August 2011 and November 2012 in visits throughout the 74 schools of the jurisdiction, all followed by them. Through such analysis, it was possible to discuss the regional implementation of such policy and propose viable alternatives to the work by PUP’s analysts, aiming to guarantee suitable learning conditions and the success in the students’ school trajectory, the Program’s main focus.

Para tanto, buscou-se conhecer as fases de implementação dessa política pública, analisar os gráficos de resultados das avaliações externas do SIMAVE das escolas pesquisadas e compreender até que ponto as ações gestoras contribuem para a melhoria dos resultados e implementação do PIP/CBC. Desta forma, no primeiro capítulo realizase uma descrição das escolas pesquisadas, apresentando as características gerais das instituições e os resultados educacionais das avaliações do PROEB e IDEB. No segundo capítulo, embasa-se o estudo nas obras de Luck referentes a gestão escolar e suas dimensões, no texto perfis de Liderança de Polon. Foi realizado, ainda, uma análise das ações gestoras a luz dessas autoras e de Eduardo Condé. A metodologia utilizada foi qualitativa através de instrumentos diversificados como observação do cotidiano dos gestores, análise de relatórios, revistas pedagógicas e entrevistas semiestruturadas. O estudo aponta a existência de boas práticas desenvolvidas pelas equipes gestoras das instituições pesquisadas que impactaram positivamente a elevação dos resultados e a implementação do PIP, mas, também identificou ações que precisam ser melhoradas para a obtenção de melhores resultados e eficácia da política. Sendo assim, o terceiro capítulo destina-se à proposição de um Plano de Ação tendo como objetivo central a elaboração de um Guia de Boas Práticas dos Gestores escolares e proposições para solucionar as fragilidades evidenciadas por este estudo, disseminando-as para todas as escolas da jurisdição.<br>This work, an Educational Action Plan (PAE), aims to analyze the management actions that contribute to the implementation of the intervention program Pedagógica- PIP / CBC and positively impact the performance of students in three public schools in the state of Minas Gerais / Brazil. Therefore, we sought to know the stages of implementation of this public policy, analyze the graphs of results of SIMAVE the external evaluations of the surveyed schools and comprehending to what extent management actions has contributed for the improved of the results and implementation of the PIP / CBC. Thus, in the first chapter, we conducted a description of the surveyed schools, presenting the general characteristics of the institutions and the educational results of the evaluations of PROEB and IDEB. On the second chapter, the study was based on Luck’s works related to school management and its dimensions and on Leadership profiles researched by Polon. It was also conducted an analysis of management actions under the perspective of such authors and Eduardo Conde. The methodology used was the qualitative through several instruments such as observation of the daily life of managers, report analysis, educational magazines and semi-structured interviews. The study shows the existence of good practices developed by the management who was surveyed in this study which positively impacted the evolution of the results and the implementation of the PIP, but, for the other hand, we found actions that need to be improved to achieve better results and effectiveness of the policy. Thus, the third chapter was dedicated to proposing an Action Plan with the main goal the create a Guide with good practices for school managers and proposals to solve the fragile points highlighted in this study, disseminating them to another schools of this jurisdiction.

La tesi doctoral que es presenta s'inclou dins el marc de l'Educació Infantil; el seu objecte psicopedagògic és l'estudi, reflexió i aprofundiment d'un Programa d'Estimulació Primerenca (PEP) que la doctoranda en la seva tasca docent habitual va començar a aplicar a l'aula amb nens i nenes de dos i tres anys. Aquest programa consta de set activitats didàctiques concretes: psicomotricitat, passeig, audició musical, passada de bits i rètols, altres llegües, rítmica, repeticions lingüístiques que al llarg del treball s'analitzen, se'n busquen els orígens i fonaments teòrics i s'estableixen les diferenciacions conceptuals amb altres concepcions pedagògiques. D'aquesta manera s'intenten contestar les petites i grans qüestions plantejades en les dues primeres parts de la tesi; la banda pràctica de la recerca es desenvolupa en la tercera i quarta en diferents fases i vol donar resposta a les inquietuds i reflexions de la investigadora provocades per l'aplicació escolar del PEP a infants de P·3. <br/><br/>Per aquest motiu es dur a terme un procés investigador que pren com a referent el paradigma interpretatiu amb un disseny d'estudi de cas observacional on, per una banda, s'analitzen els diferents aspectes que composen el context on es dur a terme el treball: alumnat, model docent i centre educatiu; i per altra, però al mateix temps que l'anterior, es recullen dades qualitatives i quantitatives que intenten esbrinar els aspectes que incideixen en l'aplicació del PEP i els resultats que se'n deriven en els alumnes. Les dades qualitatives es troben als registres anecdòtics familiars, als vídeos i als diaris d'investigació realitzats durant dos cursos escolars i a les posteriors anàlisis i categoritzacions; amb el seu estudi es comencen a entreveure noves activitats didàctiques, unes onze, que més tard conformaran un altre programa. Les dades més quantitatives es basen en uns qüestionaris que es passen als alumnes també durant dos cursos; l'examen d'aquests aporta informació sobre les habilitats intel·lectuals del grup de nens/es investigats que posteriorment es compararan amb una altra mostra prou representativa extreta de la realitat catalana.<br/><br/>Durant tot el procés anteriorment descrit i juntament amb la bibliografia consultada, amb la formació assolida per la doctoranda en diverses activitats i amb la impartida per ella mateixa a altres docents d'Educació Infantil, ha anat emergint un nou model teòric i pràctic que intenta anar més enllà de les idees constructivistes imperants avui en dia en el sistema educatiu: l'Estimulació Primerenca de les Intel·ligències amb l'establiment de quinze intel·ligències, les sensorials o d'entrada, les motores o de sortida i les intrapersonals o individuals. Aquesta teoria explica no només els aspectes teòrics que interessaven en un primer moment del PEP estudiat sinó que pretén ser una nova concepció sobre com fer més feliços als infants. <br/><br/>La part pràctica escolar d'aquesta proposta, és a dir, allò que cal fer a les aules per tal que els alumnes d'infantil assoleixen els procediments necessaris per estimular òptimament les seves potencialitats cal buscar-la en qualsevol tipus de programa d'estimulació que assoleixi per a cada intel·ligència una varietat d'activitats psicodidàctiques. Com a exemple es suggereix un nou Programa d'Estimulació Primerenca de les Intel·ligències (PEPI) amb una varietat prou important d'activitats didàctiques, al voltant de vuitanta, que garanteixen l'estimulació de totes les intel·ligències, fet que no cobria el PEP a en estimular-ne un nombre reduït.<br>El objeto psicopedagógico es el estudio, análisis y reflexión de un Programa de Estimulación Temprana que se aplica en el aula con niños/as de dos y tres años. Este programa consta de siete actividades didácticas que a lo largo del trabajo se fundamentan teóricamente. De esta manera se intentan contestar las pequeñas y grandes cuestiones teóricas planteadas en las partes primera y segunda de la tesis; el lado práctico de la investigación se desarrolla en las partes tercera y cuarta en distintas fases y pretende dar respuesta a las inquietudes de la investigadora provocadas por la aplicación escolar del programa. <br/><br/>Se lleva a cabo un proceso investigador que toma como referente el paradigma interpretativo con un diseño de estudio de caso observacional en el que, por un lado, se analizan los diferentes aspectos que componen el contexto, y por otro, pero al mismo tiempo que el anterior, se recogen datos cualitativos y cuantitativos que ponen de relieve los aspectos que inciden en la aplicación del programa y los resultados que se recogen en los alumnos. Con el análisis de los datos emergen nuevas actividades didácticas, que más tarde conformaran otro programa, y se aporta información sobre las habilidades intelectuales del grupo de niños/as investigados que posteriormente se compararan con otra muestra representativa de la realidad catalana.<br/><br/>Durante el proceso se desarrolla un nuevo modelo teórico y práctico: la Estimulación Temprana de las Inteligencias con la aportación teòrica de quince inteligencias recogidas en tres grandes grupos, las sensoriales o de entrada, las motoras o de salida y las intrapersonales o individuales. La parte práctica de esta propuesta debe buscarse en el Programa de Estimulación Temprana de las Inteligencias que sugiere para cada inteligencia una variedad de actividades psicodidácticas, más de ochenta, y garantiza la estimulación de todas las inteligencias.<br>The psicopedagogic objective is the study, analysis and reflection of an Early Stimulation Program which is applied in a classroom with children of 2 and 3 years old. This program consists about seven didactic activities that are supported theoretically along the work. In this manner, we try to answer to the small and big theoretical questions presented in the first and second part of the thesis: the practical side of the investigation is developed on the third and fourth part in different phases and it pretends to give an answer to the anxieties caused by the school application of the program.<br/><br/>It carries out a process investigator that takes as a referring the interpretive paradigm with a study design of a observational case in which, on the one hand, the different aspects that compose the context are analyzed, and on the other hand but at same time that the previous one, we collect quantitative and qualitative data that put in relief the aspects that impact in the application of the program and the results that are collected in the students. With the analysis of the data, new didactic activities emerge, and later will conform another program, and it contributes information on the intellectual abilities of the group of children investigated that subsequently will be compared with another representative sample of the Catalonian reality. <br/><br/>During the process a new theoretical and practical model is developed: the Intelligences Early Stimulation with the theoretical contribution of fifteen intelligences collected in three large groups, the sensory or of entrance, the motorboats or at the outset and the intrapersonal or individual. The practical part of this proposal must be searched in the Early Stimulation Program of the Intelligences which suggests for each intelligence a variety of psicodidactic activities, more than 80, and it guarantees the stimulation of all the intelligences.

Šio darbo rezultatai gali būti naudojami kaip papildoma medžiaga analizuojant vertinimų rezultatus.<br>The aim of this thesis is to create methods and extra material which would allow to analyze and verify the assessment results from the “PKP Branda” maturity model. "PKP Branda" model was created using CMMI and SPICE best practices. In this work relations between the ����PKP Branda” model processes were researched using work products described in the model. During this research relations between processes and their weight were calculated, essential processes were excluded. The results of this work can be used as an extra material to analyze assessment results.

Abstract:
The thesis presents a qualitative survey of web services' interoperability, offering a snapshot of development and trends at the end of 2005. It starts by examining the beginnings of web services in earlier distributed computing and middleware technologies, determining the distance from these approaches evident in current web-services architectures. It establishes a working definition of web services, examining the protocols that now seek to define it and the extent to which they contribute to its most crucial feature, interoperability. The thesis then considers the REST approach to web services as being in a class of its own, concluding that this approach to interoperable distributed computing is not only the simplest but also the most interoperable. It looks briefly at interoperability issues raised by technologies in the wider arena of Service Oriented Architecture. The chapter on protocols is complemented by a chapter that validates the qualitative findings by examining web services in practice. These have been implemented by a variety of toolkits and on different platforms. Included in the study is a preliminary examination of JAX-WS, the replacement for JAX-RPC, which is still under development. Although the main language of implementation is Java, the study includes services in C# and PHP and one implementation of a client using a Firefox extension. The study concludes that different forms of web service may co-exist with earlier middleware technologies. While remaining aware that there are still pitfalls that might yet derail the movement towards greater interoperability, the conclusion sounds an optimistic note that recent cooperation between different vendors may yet result in a solution that achieves interoperability through core web-service standards.

Includes bibliographical references (leaves 41-43).<br>This study presents an outcome evaluation of the maternal care manual of the Perinatal Education Programme (PEP) studies by 32 midwives at Mowbray Maternity Hospital, a training facility in Cape Town, South Africa. Pre-and-post course knowledge assessments and a survey of participants were used to evaluate the maternal care manual of the PEP. Knowledge assessment scores achieved by the midwives before and after the course were compared. This was done to measure the knowledge acquisition of midwives who participated in the programme. In addition, a broader survey was administered to the participants in order to map out the perceived gain in knowledge, clinical skills and acceptability of the programme. The study found out that the midwives who attended the course improved their knowledge in maternal care.

Perceptual Motor Programmes are implemented in more than 300 junior schools around New Zealand (Cropp, 2008). When implemented, many teachers believe the programme improves learning including reading abilities, increases physical activity, and enhances social skills (Broadley & Litterick-Biggs, 2005). Despite continued use of the programme there is very little research to support claims of improved academic readiness, and as a result concerns are raised around the use of a non-validated approach to improve children’s literacy learning and learning in general. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of a Perceptual Motor Programme on the reading abilities of year one and two children. Participants were 37 year one and two children, aged 5-6 years, from two classes at a low-decile primary school. Children were tested three times over ten weeks of the study using running records and sight word testing as well as non-word reading. One class acted as the control group and did not receive the programme. Repeated measures ANOVAs revealed a significant time effect over the three time plots for both groups. This time effect is consistent with what you could expect in education where children generally improve over time. However using scores from pre, mid and post testing in all tests, the overall difference between the two groups was non-significant. This result alone clearly disproves the claims of improved reading abilities through the implementation of Smart Starts perceptual motor programme. Sight word testing showed only a marginal time effect due to the scores being high at pre testing creating a ceiling effect where maximum scores had already occurred leaving little room for improvement over time. When asked to observe one child, teacher observations suggested improved attitudes towards learning and some risk-taking occurring later in the study. This was the case for both children observed, therefore cannot be attributed to the participation of the perceptual motor programme but rather part of the developmental process and current teaching and learning programmes. The results of this study have implications for the implementation of non-validated interventions in schools. This study outlines the importance of educators using evidence-based practice and research. It explores the purpose, benefits and need for the Smart Starts perceptual motor programme. The use of non-validated approaches take time, money, resources, staffing and energy away from proven practices that improve children’s reading abilities.

The purpose of this thesis is to understand how small scale farmers navigate the market to access and participate in the formal maize market to improve their revenue, utilising the case of the P4P program inKenya. The empirical material was collected during fieldwork in Kenya. Qualitative methods were found to be the most suitable for this thesis. The methods that was utilised were a case study strategy, semi structured interviews, focus groups, observations and analysis of secondary sources. In this study different approaches about farmers’ organisations (FO) and small scale farmers’ access to and participation in markets have been utilised to create an analytical context. The study found that food markets in developing countries are lacking in infrastructure, market information and bank credit. The dynamics of the Kenyan market are even more complicated due to its two different marketing channels. Using collective action has the farmers overcome many of these limitations. One change is in the farmers’ mind set from viewing agriculture as a hobby to a business. The farmers have been criticised for defaulting on their contracts, whereas WFP has been criticised delays in payments. Some FO:s have been more successful than others which are a reflection of the barriers within the P4P program itself.

O PIP/ATC, política estratégica do Governo de Minas, tem a aspiração de que toda criança leia e escreva até os oito anos de idade. Suas ações se estruturam a partir dos resultados do Proalfa, avaliação sistêmica, aplicada anualmente aos alunos concluintes do Ciclo da Alfabetização. A regional analisada vem paulatinamente apresentando resultados inferiores à média estadual, a despeito de caraterísticas peculiares que lhe favorecem quanto à implementação do PIP. Nesse sentido, este trabalho se propôs a investigar possíveis relações entre o desempenho da SRE e o modo como o programa é implementado nas escolas, o que remete ao papel da Equipe Regional (ER). A pesquisa, de base qualitativa, se desenvolveu como um estudo de caso, combinando instrumentos metodológicos tais como a análise documental, a aplicação de questionário e a realização de entrevistas com atores na cadeia de implementação do PIP, na SRE e nas escolas. Ao avaliar a implementação, comparando o desenho do programa com as ações efetivamente executadas, as contingências mostraram-se especialmente ligadas a uma baixa sistematização da rotina de trabalho da ER. A análise dos dados mostra a implicância da gestão neste contexto, uma vez que o baixo controle institucional abre espaço para o exercício discricionário dos implementadores, o que, sem o devido controle, tende a afastar-se das estratégias inicialmente desenhadas. Neste sentido, o Plano de Ação Educacional (PAE) aqui proposto volta-se para a atuação da Equipe Gestora da SRE, com vistas a fortalecer a atuação da equipe de campo em atendimento às escolas. Propondo a reorganização de algumas rotinas de trabalho e a criação de novas estratégias, o PAE sistematiza ideias, sugestões e modelos, visando maior eficácia na implementação do PIP.<br>This study aimed to evaluate the implementation of the Pedagogic Intervention Programme / Literacy in Right Time (PIP / ATC) in an Education Regional Superintendent, here called SRE "Zona da Mata". Its activities are structured from the Proalfa results, systemic evaluation, applied annually to the graduating students of the Literacy Cycle. The analyzed regional is gradually presenting low results compared the state average, in spite of peculiar characteristics that favor him in PIP implementation. In this sense, this work proposed to investigate possible relationships between the SRE performance and how the program is implemented in schools, which report the function of Regional Team (ER). The research, qualitative basis, developed as a case study, combining methodological tools such as document analysis, the use of questionnaire and interviews with actors in the PIP implementation in the SRE and schools. In order to evaluate the implementation, comparing the program design with the actions actually executed, contingencies proved particularly related to low systematization of the ER work routine. Data analysis shows the management implication in this context, since the low institutional control makes room for the discretionary exercise of implementers, which without proper control, tends to move away from strategies originally designed. In this sense, the Education Action Plan (PAE) proposed here turns to the SRE Management Team performance, in order to strengthen the field staff operation in schools attendance. Proposing reorganizing some work routines and creating new strategies, PAE systematizes ideas, suggestions and models, seeking greater efficiency in PIP implementation.

Background: Cervical cancer is reportedly the easiest gynecologic cancer to prevent, and measures that have the most impact are regular screening and timely follow-up. Although the Papanicolaou (Pap) test used to screen for cervical cancer has been recognized as one of the most valuable clinical preventive service for women, variation in screening and tracking remain a barrier for some women achieving optimal health. Missed opportunities for care in the form of inadequate follow-up is a patient safety and quality of care issue that can be appropriately addressed through implementation of a tool to be used as a component of a cervical cancer surveillance program. Purpose: The purpose of this quality improvement (QI) project was to develop an evidence-based, tracking tool for cervical cytology screening to facilitate surveillance measures in a community health center. Theoretical Framework: The theoretical framework applied was Donebedian’s quality of care framework that incorporates the Structure-Process-Outcome model. Methods: The study was conducted in five phases over a period of 14 months. After permission was granted to implement the study, the tracking tool was developed with input from the mentor. The final two phases consisted of training, implementation, and evaluation of tool’s effectiveness towards improving practice. A survey questionnaire measuring the staff’s opinion of the tool was administered and verbal feedback regarding perception of the tool’s capability to impact clinical practice was collected. Results: Informal surveys were performed by asking stakeholders to share their attitudes and opinions of the surveillance tool. Conclusion: Consistent evidence-based practice among those charged with providing care is paramount to helping patients achieve their best outcome. Surveillance is an internal process and improving surveillance is pivotal to the goal of optimizing outcomes. The findings of the QI project indicate that through the provision of this evidence-based practice, clinical resource, quality of care will be improved. Additionally, the surveillance tool will be incorporated into clinical practice and used as the official method for tracking abnormal cervical cancer screenings, scheduling follow up care, and tracking patients until resolution of cervical pathology.

For that, it was adopted the documental study ,using the theoretical and methodological researches of the content analysis. The documental corpus consisted by documents of the Nursing University legislation for the teaching in the area and recommendations of the Brazilian Nursing Association (ABEN), all related to the period between 1980 and 2004. The chronological demarcation goes back to the beginning of the Pedagogical Project of PUC-Campinas, as well as the countless transformations in the area of Health and of the Health Professionals formation. The investigation allowed to identify that since the beginning, the teaching proposal at the university, became an advance guard in the area, among other factors of the movement of the Health Policies in Campinas, as well as, the purpose included into the university project. Referring to the curriculum in effect , we can observe adjustment necessities, mainly to what concerns to the sharing of the Collective Health with the other areas, since its characteristics and accumulated knowledge, that may contribute to the link between the teaching, to the profile of the required graduation.
