Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to explain the role of the Web Series in discussing and delivering messages to audiences about the "value" of the product, where the web series published on digital media such as Youtube that becomes the attractive promotional strategies for the consumers. This research used a qualitative method with a descriptive approach that explains the promotion strategy and brand engagement through the web series that became a new content marketing campaign. The results of this study are the increased proximity between customers and brand as well as the increased understanding brand which leads to brand awareness because attractive promotional strategies can attract the attention of consumers. The use of web series to build engagement with customers also has its own added value, where the web series can also be used as a product campaign such as Ax Indonesia, which released a Web Series Axelerate the series: Kostan AX/3 that is in conjunction with the launch of their new product, Pomade, and Facial Wash. This study concludes that the approach to consumers must be adjusted to the characteristics of consumers themselves so that messages can be conveyed more effectively and on target.

Abstract:

Duodenal atresia is a frequent cause of intestinal obstruction in the newborn. Obstruction due to duodenal web is infrequent, but its location other than second part of duodenum is rare with only a few cases reported in the literature. We are reporting three patients where we found duodenal webs at unusual locations. In one neonate the web was located at third part of duodenum and in other two patients the web was present at duodeno-jejunal junction (DJ).

Abstract:

Reports indicate that 49% of adults in India spend at least 2-3 hours consuming OTT media, rather than watching conventional television. With such changes in the way the general population is exposed to content, brands have also been adapting to the new patterns that this study investigates. This study was conducted to assess consumers’ attitudes and acceptance towards brand placement in the novel media format of web series based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This study, based on a survey of 278 individuals from Urban India settings, was conducted using a self-report questionnaire adapted from F Davis’s Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use and User Acceptance of TAM questionnaire (1989). The study supports TAM and recognizes that the frequency of viewing Web Series directly relates to brand recall (R = 0.57, p &amp;lt; .001). Product/brand placement yields brand awareness for unknown or unpopular brands and provide evidence for higher engagement with the placement when the audiences have pre-existing positive attitudes towards the brand (t (277) = 27.11, p = .01). This study also confirms that TAM as a relevant model can be applied to understand how regularity and duration of viewing affect attitudes towards brands and their placement in Web Series. Brand placement in Web Series is perceived as useful and largely determines brand name recall. Thus, marketers should strategically consider using brand placement in Web Series as a part of their marketing communication plan, especially as this media with other related forms of advertisement are important for brands to keep up with the industry’s communication challenges.

Abstract:

Time series are typically built on basic assumptions that include stationarity, linearity and normality. The three characteristics are crucial for estimating and building time series models. Studies on time series include these assumptions. To deal with unstable time series that are based on its basis, mathematical models that are suitable for such series are adopted in this study. A nonlinear self-regression model, called the rational model, is proposed. This model is a fraction in which the numerator is the complete sine function and the denominator is an exponential self-regression model. The fixed point and limit cycle of the model are simulated and determined, and its stability is studied using a linear approximation technique.

Abstract:

This article discusses the aesthetic assessment of the web series Sore which is done through a semiotic approach, as well as the beauty of delivering the moral message behind the purpose of the web series as advertisement. The first step on the research is to develop basic narrative scheme to guide the determination of the main signifiers in the web series. Next is to analyze the style of language contained in the dialogue that has a metaphor in it. And finally, the aesthetic assessment of the delivery of moral messages in the web series. After analyzing the authors found the hidden beauty of the web series Sore is the simple form of main signifier, the use of metaphors that have beauty as supporting the delivery of the meaning in some scenes on the web series, as well as the web series successfully deliver the moral messages with such a natural and beautiful scene that accordance with the purpose of literature to entertain and educate.

Abstract:

In the current era of modernization, many business people have begun to develop their businesses that were previously managed offline and are directed towards online management. Web series is a recent innovation in the field of advertising with the concept of serial promotion events released by various internet media, such as through YouTube, which is the main platform for web series production. Based on the data obtained by the use of web series on Youtube media is quite a lot even some have watched more than 1 million times. The author is interested in conducting research on web series, with the aim of researching how the web series is used as a digital marketing communication strategy on Traveloka. In conducting this research the writer uses descriptive qualitative research methods. The theory in this research is content marketing in web series, in building an awareness of an advertisement of a brand. The results of this study indicate that with the digital market online there are many positive sides to being closer to consumers and also faster in time, quickly promoting or introducing products to the public, the absence of market boundaries to reach all corners of the world connected to the internet, and accuracy and speed of service are the main needs of consumers in the era of globalization.

Abstract:

The article studies how domestic screenwriters and directors are exploring the web series format that started actively developing in Russia only five years ago. Both series produced for major internet platforms and indie projects created by independent studios in the past five years are reviewed. The article analyses how Russian authors understand and take into account in their work the specifics of the new field, as well as the format-forming features of web series that have developed abroad. Such aspects as the lack of censorship, freedom from severe restrictions on story genres and heroes’ types have a significant impact on the dramaturgy of native web series. Those are the things that determine the attractiveness of this new format for experienced Russian authors moving to the internet from related fields: cinema and television. The results of the study show that Russian dramatists and directors rely on foreign experience of creating web series, but at the same time they try to modify certain features of this format and sometimes manage to find their own unique solutions.

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui web series sebagai media dakawah dari aspek penanda dan petanda pesan dakwah, makna denotasi dan konotasi pesan dakwah, serta untuk mengetahui makna baru dari dakwah Islam dalam web series Ramadhan Terakhir Episode 1-4 tahun 2018. Metode penelitiannya menggunakan metode analisis semiotika Roland Barthes dengan mengamati isi pesan dalam web series Ramadhan Terakhir malalui berbagi tanda-tanda atau lambang-lambang yang secara konvensional memiliki arti. Tanda-tanda itu termasuk berbagai sistem tanda yang bekerja sama dengan baik untuk mencapai efek yang diharapkan. Hasil dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa web series Ramadhan Terakhir episode 1-4 yang di produksi oleh Line Indonesia, merupakan inovasi dari media dakwah yang memuat banyak pesan-pesan dakwah yang ditunjukkan oleh penanda dan petanda, serta makna denotasi dan konotasinya. Diantara pesan dakwah yang terkandung dalam web series tersebut antara lain pesan akhlak seperti tolong menolong terhadap sesama dan pesan aqidah seperti anjuran untuk bertawakal kepada Allah dalam menghadapi setiap peristiwa yang terjadi. Pesan-pesan dakwah yang terkandung dalam web series Ramdahan Terakhir ini pada dasarnya merupakan salah satu bentuk dlam merealisasikan ajaran Islam, yakni menjadi uswatun hasanah dalam setiap tingkah laku. This paper aims to find out the web series as a media of dakawah from the aspects of the message markers and markers, the meaning of denotation and connotation of the message of da’wah, and to find out the new meaning of Islamic propaganda in the Ramadan Terakhir web series Episodes 1-4 of 2018. The research method uses analytical methods Roland Barthes's semiotics by observing the contents of messages in the Ramadhan Terakhir web series through sharing signs or symbols that conventionally have meaning. The signs include various sign systems that work well together to achieve the expected effect. The results of the study show that the Ramadhan Terakhir web series episodes 1-4 produced by Line Indonesia, are innovations from da’wah media that contain many propaganda messages shown by markers and markers, as well as the meaning of denotation and connotation. Among the da'wah messages contained in the web series include moral messages such as help for others and aqeedah messages such as encouragement to trust God in facing any event that occurs. Da'wah messages contained in the Last Ramdahan web series are basically one form of realizing Islamic teachings, which is to become uswatun hasanah in every behavior

Dua web series tersebut paling banyak mengakhiri episode dengan pengambilan keputusan oleh tokoh, yang berpengaruh pada plot di episode berikutnya. Selain itu, pola cliffhanger yang juga sering digunakan adalah pemberian surprise.

Abstract:

With the emergence of web series in the Indian market, there has been increasing in the viewership among youth. This study focuses on the statistical technique using the factor analysis on constructing the success factors of the Mirzapur web series. The data were collected using a survey questionnaire, and the methodologies used were descriptive statistics and factor analysis. SPSS 20 was used to perform for statistical analysis of the data. The target age group respondents for this study were 18-35 years of age. The results showed some factors were successfully constructed using factor analysis and identifying the success factors of the Mirzapur web series; which is series surrounded with Kaleen bhaiya character, violence, politics, and aggression was the factor why this Mirzapur web series was a great hit, web series like Mirzapur are the future of entertainment industries, availability of the internet and low cost, reflecting the real culture of Mirzapur, language used in the web series similar to the language used in Mirzapur. There are currently more than 500 million people in India, who are online, and it will expand in the future as people are accepting the Internet as a medium for entertainment. This study helps entertainment industries, especially for the upcoming web series.

Character-centered storytelling helped High Maintenance take off as a web series and become one of the most celebrated shows currently airing on HBO. But the series’ success across both platforms raises the question: what is the difference between a web series and a television series? Between 2012 and 2015, the High Maintenance web series adopted an innovative approach to serial storytelling by privileging contiguity over continuity, accumulation over connection. The web series comprises nineteen short episodes, each a single vignette allowing a brief glimpse into the life of one protagonist or social group. The series facilitated an additive model of episodic narration that fit its narrative premise and its vision of Brooklyn, even though it never quite realized the diversity its model allowed for.

Abstract:

Members of the genera Uloborus, Hyptiotes, and Miagrammopes have similar web-monitoring postures, but very different webs and tactics for monitoring them. Orb weavers of the genus Uloborus construct horizontal webs and hang from their hubs, whereas reduced-web uloborids construct vertical webs and monitor them from a single thread. To determine if changes in spider strength accompanied web reduction, resting and maximum force measurements were taken of a developmental series of Hyptiotes cavatus, Uloborus glomosus, Miagrammopes animotus, Miagrammopes pinopus, and an undescribed Costa Rican Miagrammopes using a glass needle strain gauge. Both carapace length and spider weight were used as indexes of spider size. Regression analyses of forces show that H. cavatus exerts the greatest relative force and Miagrammopes species the least. This is consistent with requirements for the operation of each web type: Hyptiotes cavatus tenses its entire triangular web and suddenly releases this tension when a prey strikes its web, whereas a Miagrammopes species jerks a single thread that has captured a prey. Within the genus Miagrammopes, the species with the most highly modified carapace expressed the greatest resting force.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana representasi nilai-nilai islami pada web series animasi Nussa. Metode yang digunakan oleh penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori representasi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dipakai adalah teknik dokumentasi, observasi dan wawancara. Objek penelitian ini adalah web series animasi Nussa dengan mengambil empat episode berdasarkan viewers terbanyak, episode tersebut adalah episode Tidur Sendiri Tidak Takut, episode Dahsyatnya Basmallah, episode Jangan Boros, episode Rara Sakit. Hasil penelitian dari empat episode berdasarkan viewers terbanyak adalah yang pertama terdapat Islam direpresentasikan oleh animasi Nussa seperti: Pakaian Muslim, memelihara dan menyayangi salah satu hewan kucing yang merupakan hewan peliharaan dan kesayangan Nabi Muhammad SAW, kaligrafi, berdo’a agar dijauhkan dari gangguan syaitan. Sedangkan untuk nilai-nilai Islami yang direpresentasikan oleh animasi Nussa seperti berikut, pertama nilai aqidah: keyakinan dan kepercayaan seorang hamba terhadap Allah SWT, keyakinan sifat boros merupakan sifat dari setan. Kedua nilai ibadah: melakukan doa sebelum tidur atau adab tidur, beristigfar, membaca do’a. Ketiga nilai akhlak: berpakaian dalam Islam, adab bersin, mengucapkan terimakasih, mengucap salam dan menjawab salam, meminta maaf.

Abstract:

This study is aimed to identify the implicature and their maxim violation and find out how the violating maxims occur in the movie. The study is conducted by using the qualitative method. The research object of this study is about implicature and the violation of the maxim. The subject of this study is a web series movie script entitled Daredevil, the scripts are taken from season 1 episode 1 until 3. To collect the data, the writer uses note taking technique. The writer uses pragmatic referential method (metode padan pragmatis) to analyze the data. The result shows 25 implicatures in Daredevil web series movie that occur because of its violation of the maxim. There are 20% implicature by violating the maxim of quantity, 36% implicature by violating the maxim of quality, 26% implicature by violating the maxim of relation, 18% implicature by violating the maxim of manner. By violating the maxim, the characters produce some implied meanings which can be used to misleading the hearer. The implied meaning of the utterances refers to an expression of agreement, denial, refusal, acceptance and indirect sentence, it depends on how the character uses the implicature. Saat ini perkembangan dunia digital yang semakin pesat akan berpengaruh terhadap pemasaran yang juga terus berkembang, dari konsep pemasaran konvensional menuju konsep pemasaran modern yaitu melalui media digital, salah satunya dengan iklan bertemakan web series. Variabel yang ada pada penelitian ini meliputi empat dimensi dari EPIC Model yaitu Empathy, Persuation, Impact, dan Communication. Penelitian dilakukan dengan penyebaran kuesioner kepada 400 responden iklan web series berjudul SORE â€“ Istri dari Masa Depan, Mengakhiri Cinta dalam 3 Episode dan LINE â€“ Nic and Mar. Skor rata-rata yang didapat dari responden atas pernyataan yang mengukur dimensi empathy sebesar 3,9. Untuk dimensi persuation hasil rata-rata yang didapat adalah 3,77. Dimensi impact menghasilkan 4,01. Dan untuk dimensi communication adalah 4,07. Sehingga hasil dari EPIC Rate atau rata-rata secara keseluruhan adalah 3,99 dari skala maksimum di setiap dimensi adalah 5. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang ada, menunjukkan bahwa iklan web series di youtube dinilai efektif.

Penelitian ini mempergunakan teori feminisme untuk melihat bagaimana feminis yang muncul dan tergambarkan dalam web series ini. Sedangkan metode yang dipergunakan adalah analisis wacana dari Sara Mills, yang melihat bagaimana posisi subjek-objek dan penulis-pembaca digambarkan melalui web series ini. The article takes a closer look at web series which not only are distributed exclusively via world wide web (usually YouTube and Vimeo) but for which the hypertextuality, modularity or transmediality stand for their essential qualities. I have divided web series into three categories: 1) very cheap, short series and series of a few episodes amateurish in form ; 2) semi-professional series of a longer length, sometimes genre-oriented; 3) professional “extensions” (spin-off’s) of traditional TV series, 4) branded series considered to represent narrative commercials of minor and major brands. The author analyses the form and content of the above regarding both fictional and documentary works; elaborates on one of the most complex examples (“H+. The Digital Series” by Warner Bros.) and finishes with opportunities and disadvantages of such a film form.

Syndactyly is one of the most common congenital hand deformities but there still remains a high incidence of contractures and web creep after attempts at surgical correction using many assorted techniques. Little attention has been paid to the potential junctional scar in the aetiology of web creep. To remedy this, a technique is described which involves a dorsal flap and two palmar laterally-based flaps. This method not only breaks up the palmar junctional scar but also completely reconstructs the web, not just the floor. The procedure can be used in all varieties of syndactyly and has reduced the incidence of creep in a series of 49 webs.

Abstract BACKGROUND The Woven EndoBridge (WEB) device was granted premarket approval in the United States following results of the Woven EndoBridge Intrasaccular Therapy (WEB-IT) study. WEB-IT reported excellent adequate angiographic occlusion of treated aneurysms with a high safety profile. These results were achieved, however, in the context of a prospective study with strict inclusion criteria and rigorous training support. OBJECTIVE To review early as-practiced clinical experience with the WEB device in the United States. METHODS Retrospective review across 6 institutions identified 91 patients undergoing 92 treatment sessions for WEB device placement in treatment of 91 intracranial aneurysms. Details regarding demographics, aneurysm characteristics, treatment considerations, clinical outcomes, and aneurysm occlusion were obtained and analyzed in a multicenter database. Angiograms from the index procedure and follow-up studies were reviewed by a blinded and independent adjudicator. RESULTS The middle cerebral, anterior communicating, and basilar artery complexes were the commonly treated locations. Eight patients presented with ruptured aneurysms. A mean of 1.2 devices were introduced per case. Technical failure without deployment of a WEB device occurred in 2% (2/92) of sessions. Complete aneurysm occlusion for patients with imaging follow-up was 49% (mean follow-up of 8 mo). Four aneurysms were retreated. 90% of patients had modified Rankin Scale ≤ 2 at last clinical follow-up with no mortalities. CONCLUSION Immediate postmarket experience with the WEB device, newly introduced at American centers, confirms safe procedural use, but long-term efficacy remains unclear. Early challenges include accurate sizing and device selection.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh iklan web series Space # “Kenapa Belum Nikah?” terhadap brand awareness JD.ID. Penelitian ini menggunakan variabel independent yaitu iklan web series, dengan dimensi multimedia, pictures, dan content. Dan variabel dependent yaitu brand awareness, dengan dimensi unaware of brand, brand recognition, brand recall, dan top of mind. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif, dengan teknik analisis data deksriptif, uji normalitas, uji regresi linier sederhana, koefisien determinasi, dan uji hipotesis. Teknik sampling yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Probability Sampling, yaitu Simple Random Sampling, dan menggunakan rumus unknown populations, dengan jumlah 100 responden. Hasil uji hipotesis menunjukan bahwa iklan web series Space # “Kenapa Belum Nikah?” memiliki pengaruh yang positif terhadap brand awareness JD.ID, hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan t hitung (6.168) > t tabel (1.290), dan hasil koefisien determinasi menunjukan bahwa iklan web series Space # “Kenapa Belum Nikah?” memiliki pengaruh sebesar 27.98% terhadap brand awareness JD.ID. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa iklan web series tidak bisa berdiri sendiri dalam meningkatkan kesadaran terhadap suatu merek, tetapi membutuhkan faktor lainnya, seperti slogan dan jingle sebagai elemen pendukungnya.

The feature extraction process increases the user security. The classification process improves different level of user identity. The support vector machine increases the data validation process quickly. Finally the proposed work enhances the user authentication process. The frame work is implemented using the matlabR2014 software and results were simulated for mobile apps.

<span>This research aims to extract a cause-effect-concept pair series of consequent event occurrences in health information of hospital web-boards. The extracted cause-effect-concept pair series representing a disease causation pathway benefits for the automatic diagnosis and solving system. Where each causative/effect event concept is expressed by an elementary discourse unit (EDU which is a simple sentence). The research has three problems; how to determine causative/effect concept EDUs from the documents containing some EDU occurrences with both causative concepts and effect concepts, how to determine the cause-effect relation between two adjacent EDUs having the discourse cue ambiguity, and how to extract cause-effect-concept pair series mingled with either a stimulation relation EDU or other non-cause-effect relation EDUs from the documents. Therefore, we apply annotated NWordCo pairs with causative-effect concepts to represent EDU pairs with causative-effect concept where the NWordCo size solved by Naïve Bayes. We also apply Naïve Bayes to solve NWordCo-concept pairs having the cause-effect relation from the adjacent EDU pairs. We then propose using cue words and the collected NWordCo-concept pairs with the cause-effect relation to extract the cause-effect-concept pair series. The research results provide the high precision of the cause-effect-concept pair series determination from the documents. </span>

Islamic education needs to be taught to everybody since an early age so they can understand, have moral and noble character which can be embedded since young. In the current era of technological development, the internet has an important role for communities, especially for parents in delivering Islamic education to children. Video-based social media called Youtube is the choice of entertainment and education media for children. Some of the shows on Youtube that are mostly chosen to deliver Islamic education to children are Nussa’s animated web series, Syamil Dodo and Kastari Senja. The purpose of this study is to find out the three animations in fulfilling the criteria of educational media in conveying the message of Islamic education in accordance with the goals of national education, interpretation of the Qur’an and its benefit as an educational medium. The study used qualitative descriptive method. The findings from this study are Nussa animation, Syamil Dodo and Kastari Senja can provide the contents of the message of Islamic education in accordance with the criteria for national educational goals. On the criteria of educational media based on the interpretation of the Qur’an, the Nussa animation best meets the criteria as a medium for delivering good Islamic education. While animations that have fulfilled as an educational medium are the animation of Syamil Dodo and Kastari Senja. In conclusion, Nussa animation is the animation that best meets the criteria as an Islamic educational medium compared to Syamil Dodo and Kastari Sentra.

The results of this study indicate that the role of producers in the Wahana Honda Prime web series process consists of 3 stages, in pre-production which of course it is related in making themes, story ideas, cinematographic processes in the production and editing of images. In the production process the producer is fully responsible for controlling, supervising, and coordinating to all the crew involved for the smooth running of their production, carrying out production in accordance with the script and shooting script made by the producer. In post production there are 2 editing processes, namely offline and online. The producer ensures and supervises the production work in accordance with the client's direction and deliver the results in accordance with the agreed time.

Abstract:

In this article, I discuss whether the Norwegian teen web series drama SKAM (NRK, 2015-2017) is really about shame and to what extent the fictional characters of the series feel ashamed. The theoretical framework is based on a social psychological conceptualization of shame, supplemented by a micro-sociologically based analysis of the social meaning of face loss and shame. Shame may both entail a negative feeling and an active mechanism serving social and psychological purposes. The main characters of the series are used to analytically exemplify the role of shame and embarrassment. In conclusion, the series does thematize shame and the characters are often placed in conflicts that may give rise to shame. On the other hand, the series also suggests potential social strategies, to constructively avoid the face loss of shameful situations.
