L'expérience Borexino (BX), collaboration impliquant neuf pays, est implantée dans le laboratoire souterrain du Gran Sasso en Italie. Elle vise la mesure du flux de neutrinos solaires de la raie du béryllium à 862 keV, première mesure en temps réel à si basse énergie. Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN), Gamma Ray Bursters (GRB) and Topological Defects are believed to be sources of ultrahigh energy ν(μ) and νₑ. The detection is performed on an event-by-event basis which is possible thanks to the high spatial resolution of the detector. Their origin, despite decades of observations, remains elusive. A unique probe of the sources and production mechanisms of these high energy cosmic rays can be neutrinos, since they are inevitably produced when high-energy protons interact. The IceCube Neutrino Observatory, located at the geographical South Pole in Antarctica, continuously monitors a total volume of 1 km<sup> 3</sup> of clear Antarctic ice for neutrino interactions.

We consider propagation of high-energy earth-skimming taus produced in interactions of astrophysical tau neutrinos. For astrophysical tau neutrinos, we take generic power-law flux, E-2 and the cosmogenic flux initiated by the protons. We calculate tau energy loss in several approaches, such as dipole models and the phenomenological approach in which parametrization of the F-2 is used. We evaluate the tau neutrino charged-current cross section using the same approaches for consistency. We consider the high energy Earth skimming tau neutrinos converting to taus following by tau propagation through rock. The difficulty in predict the final tau flux comes from the theoretical uncertainties in the tau electromagnetic energy loss and the neutrino-nucleon cross section. The first part of the thesis focuses on deriving the dipole cross section from a theoretical parametrization of the electromagnetic structure function, then uses said cross section to compute the tau's energy loss at high energies during Earth propagation. It took data from 2008 to 2012, integrating a beam intensity of 1.8*10^20 protons on target. 碩士<br>國立交通大學<br>物理研究所<br>92<br>We present our Monte-carlo simulation results on tau-lepton energy spectrum induced by the Earth-skimming tau neutrinos, taking into account the inelasticity of neutrino-nucleon scatterings and the tau-lepton energy loss in detail. We argue that the tau-lepton flux resulting from neutrino-nucleon scatterings inside the earth is controlled by the tau-lepton range, rather than the distance of tau-leptons/neutrinos traverse inside the Earth. We also comment on the energy-resolution of tau neutrinos in the earth-skimming detection strategy.

The SHiP experiment (Search for Hidden Particles) is a beam dump experiment proposed at the CERN SPS with the submission of a Technical Proposal in April 2015. SHiP aims at the observation of long lived particles very weakly coupled with ordinary matter.
