Abstract:
Thiocyclam hydrogen oxalate (Brand name: Evisect) is an insecticide with anti-cholinergic and cholinergic properties. Although there are few case reports and a case series of human toxicity of nereistoxin analogue insecticide such as cartap hydrochloride poisoning published in the literature, poisoning with thiocyclam hydrogen oxalate (Evisect), an another analogue of nereistoxin with its own molecular formula is only heard in animals, such as Nubian goats. Herein, we report a patient presented with rhabdomyolysis and acute kidney injury without significant symptoms of acute cholinergic syndro

AbstractThe armywormSpodoptera litura(Fabricius) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) is a serious pest of cotton (Gossypium hirsutumLinnaeus; Malvaceae), tobacco (Nicotiana tabacumLinnaeus; Solanaceae), and vegetables. Frequent application of various insecticides applied for its control has resulted in the development of a multiple resistance against commonly used insecticides. In the current study, field populations ofS. liturawere monitored in Pakistan for their susceptibility to diverse chemical classes, namely insect growth regulators (chlorfluazuron, lufenuron, flufenoxuron, triflumuron, methoxyfeno

Frequent applications of synthetic insecticides might cause environmental pollution due to the high residue. In addition, increasing insecticide resistance in many insect pests requires novel pest control methods. Nanotechnology could be a promising field of modern agriculture, and is receiving considerable attention in the development of novel nano-agrochemicals, such as nanoinsectticides and nanofertilizers. This study assessed the effects of the lethal and sublethal concentrations of chlorantraniliprole, thiocyclam, and their nano-forms on the development, reproductive activity, oxidative s

Abstract:
The effects on the field slug (Deroceras reticulatum) of treating seeds of barley, wheat and perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne) were investigated in laboratory experiments. Barley seeds were treated with metaldehyde and methiocarb, wheat seeds with metaldehyde, methiocarb, neem oil (azadirachtin) and saponins, and perennial ryegrass seeds with metaldehyde, methiocarb and thiocyclam hydrogen oxalate. These compounds were tested at several rates. Metaldehyde was the most effective treatment in preventing slug damage to the seeds and seedlings. The level of protection against slugs at 0.8 g a.i.

Efficacy of Stamina 50, Thiocyclam hydrogenoxalate was evaluated for its bio-insecticidal control on Coelaenomenodera elaeidis larvae, pupae and adult forms, at Okomu oil palm plantation, Nigeria. The experimental plot was 10.2Ha compared with similar untreated plot. Observations were made for 4 weeks after treatment, for dead leaf miner populations. Data were subjected to one way analysis of variance, independent sample T-test and testing for significant difference on the effect of insecticidal treatment on leaf miner populations. Results indicated that exposure to the insecticide at 500g per
