Abstract:
The article contains a comprehensive study of tourist arrivals in Albania in the years 1994 to 2020. During this period, the trend of tourism development has been studied, using the widely approved concept of Tourist Area Cycle Theory (TALC). During these years, the number of tourists has been growing rapidly, and, the touristic sites of Albania have been transformed to serve touristic purposes, especially the coastline. Recently the geographic touristic map has been enlarged to the mountain and rural areas, touristic villages, and cultural, archaeological, historical tourism. The dynamics of tourism development have been studied by many researchers, academics, and institutions to provide a complete and clear picture of the history and predict the future of the tourism industry. Econometric, mathematical or mixed models are applied to fit the tourism development and they have been helpful and have served the purpose. The model we have used to analyze the arrivals in Albania is the Logistical and the Gompertz model, largely used to estimate growth under limited resources. The tourist arrivals, i.e., the number of tourists entering the destination country have been considered as the most important variable to describe the tourism development. Several useful software is mostly used to fit the historical data and predict future arrivals such as Stata, Lab fit, Curve Expert, Spss, etc. In our case the Stata software to run the data provided for this article. The data for this article are provided from INSTAT (National Institute of Statistics), (http://www.instat.gov.al/) and other National Institutions such as the Ministry of Tourism and Environment of Albania, (https://turizmi.gov.al/), and several International Institutional such as the World Bank, (https://data.worldbank.org/indicator/ST.INT.ARVL?locations=AL), World Tourism Organization, (https://www.unwto.org/statistic/basic-tourism-statistics). The data, together with the growing numbers of tourists show the significant impact of tourism on the economic development of the country, income, contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), employment, etc.

Abstract:
Indonesia has a large variety of socio-spatial patterns that have developed over centuries. These settlement patterns correspond to the social, economic and landscape conditions and are part of the deeply rooted cultural heritage of Indonesia. The cultural heritage but also outstanding natural sites are base for an increasing popularity in tourism all over the Indonesian Archipelago. One of it is the island of Flores including the Komodo National Park that has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The town Labuan Bajo as the entry point to the national park is facing a rapid growth number of visitors after being declared as one of the focal points in of tourist development by the Indonesian government in 2016. With the Sepuluh Bali Baru (10 New Bali) concept the ministry of tourism launched a plan that aims to replicate the economic effects of tourism in Bali nationally. This development brought a number of challenges to the region especially concerning planning matters. One of the plans to deal with the different issues is to create an independent, international and interdisciplinary research center to support the local government, stakeholders and the population of Flores. This paper will describe first studies for a project launched in cooperation of the TU Wien (Vienna University of Technology), Universitas Gadjah Mada, National University of Singapore and the University of Sydney to develop a label for a sustainable tourism for the island if Flores starting with investigations in Labuan Bajo.

Abstract:
Data from municipal and private wastewater treatment plants (WWTP) in the Dodecanese prefecture in Greece was collected via a questionnaire and personal interviews, and was analyzed with respect to the operational status of the plants. The data was compared with the latest reports by the Greek Ministry of the Environment, which is what is officially reported at a national level and to the European Union (EU), and what judges Greece's compliance with EU Directives. Our assessment is that the picture presented by the Ministry is limited and optimistic when compared to reality, with many plants going unreported. This confirms what other researchers have reported previously, and presents an update on operational status, specifically for the highly touristic and ecologically sensitive island area of the Dodecanese. A short survey of the private WWTPs belonging to hotel establishments reveals that, although they are expected to treat a large percentage of the wastewaters produced in the islands during summer months, most of them operate poorly, while no regular checks are performed by public health officials.

Abstract:
The health tourism development is of the greatest interest for the business sector and regional authorities in Altai Krai. To a great extent, tourist attractions are maintained and operate year-round. It should be noted that it is essential for the region, located in Siberia. In fact, Belokurikha Resort is the largest recreational area in the Asian part of the Russian Federation. Development of the resort has been subjected to the limits imposed by its location in a small valley of a mountainous river. Therefore, the commercial enterprises, local government and scholars are working on projects for the development of medical tourism within neighbouring territories of the resort. The authors of this paper suggest applying the frame approach in spatial planning for the territorial tourist complex “Bolshaya Belokurikha” (“Big Belokurikha”), and the main elements that are significant for the successful implementation of tourist projects are identified within. The use of the integrated approach allows for the consideration of stakeholders’ interests. To preserve the natural environment and further development of tourism, the natural park "Foothills of Altai" was established. This park is considered as a base of touristic operations. The concept and purpose of spatial development is to combine the development of medical tourism and rehabilitation into the natural environment. Currently, project proposals are being discussed by the working group of Altai Krai, and then they will be sent to the Ministry of Economic Development of the Government of the Russian Federation.

Abstract:
Much Loved, a Moroccan movie by director Nabil Ayouch released in French cinemas in 2015 and selected at La Quinzaine des Réalisateurs in Cannes the same year, represents a major turning point in the history of national cinema. Officially banned from screens by the Moroccan Ministry of Communications one week after its premiere in Cannes, it unleashed an emotional storm and an unprecedented debate in the Moroccan society without ever having been seen by the public and only on the basis of some extracts leaked on the internet. The movie relates the lives of four young women living on prostitution in the touristic city of Marrakesh. This article provides an in-depth analysis of the factors of transgression carried by the movie and how they enable a better understanding of its violent mirroring impact on the Moroccan society.

Abstract:
The development of tourism in rural areas supports economic development and growth of these areas. The prerequisite of successful development is the existence of strategic priorities in tourism. The Gornje Međimurje area has the characteristics of a rural region which generates recognizable successes in development of an authentic touristic attraction. Guidelines specified by the official Tourism Development Strategy (Ministry of Tourism, 2003) can serve as possible strategic orientations/options in that respect. In particular, the guidelines that refer to Central Croatia include: orientations toward rural tourism, health tourism, sport tourism, and congress tourism. This paper aims to contribute to the formulation of future tourist orientation of this region by the evaluation of strategic alternatives using the combined SWOT-AHP (short for Strenghts, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats and Analytical Hierarchical Process) method. In this paper we propose a modified version of the method, so that the absolute values of SWOT factors coefficients are used as criteria previously specified by AHP, but with a different procedure of evaluating (strategic) alternatives. The strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for tourism were described, which was based on judgments of experts; the appropriate weight was given to SWOT groups and factors using the AHP method. The relevance of potential strategic alternatives was determined with regards to global values of elements (factors) contained in SWOT groups, while also taking into consideration negative contributions of Weaknesses and Threats to the strategic situation. Thus, the strategic priorities for tourism development of Gornje Međimurje were obtained and the option of rural tourism was estimated as being most attractive.

Abstract:
Yoga tourism has witnessed a consistent development in the recent years. People around the world have become more mindful of health care options which has led to an increase in the quality of wellbeing care as a need in the minds of most age groups today. The worldwide fascination with yoga has inspired many people to travel in order to practise this activity. Kemetic yoga rapidly evolved into the wonder of yoga tourism, which nowadays is a vital and profitable component of the wellness tourism industry. This unique yoga practice draws yoga lovers from across the world, according to an official statement released by the Egyptian tourism minister promoting it internationally. In 2019, Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism collaborated with CNN broadcast to produce a short documentary about Kemetic yoga to highlight wellness tourism in the country. Egypt is a unique destination for Kemetic yogis. Although few researchers have studied Kemetic Yoga as an aspect of tourism, this research focused on the examination of marketing strategies that Egypt needs to apply to promote itself as a competitive destination for yoga. Kemetic yoga tourism is a new travel trend in Egypt, promoting a rising touristic attraction and encouraging the potential of further research. This paper focused on the examination of marketing strategies Egypt is currently implementing to promote itself as a viable yoga destination, and to recommend other marketing strategies to promote Kemetic yoga in Egypt. The methodological approach consisted of a constructivist research paradigm, a qualitative methodology and an interview-based data collection method. Intense, semi-formal interviews were conducted with Kemetic yoga practitioners from different experiences and yoga levels who had travelled to Egypt to practice Kemetic yoga. Abstract:
The aim of this work is to propose and encourage critical reflection on the discursive production of tourism in contemporaneity, in other words, on how tourism is being constructed by different kinds of speeches prepared by different actors. The main working hypothesis is that the discursive production of tourism is not simple communication, but a process of persuasion as it has been used intentionally by powerful social actors who wish to legitimize their own interests in the name of what they call tourism. Therefore, such production is not a neutral activity, but an instrument of a power play: tourism is one of the most finished devices already developed for capitalist subjectivity. The object of analysis of this thesis is the \'legitimating discursive production of tourism\'. The methodology of this study is the Critical Analysis of Discourses. The thesis is divided into six chapters. At the end, in the form of final remarks, propose new critical studies to tourism.

Abstract:

Locations associated with prominent individuals may become destinations with sufficient drawing power to become the principal motivation for visiting. Events following the deaths of such individuals may further enhance the numbers of people visiting such sites. The Beatification of Mother Mary MacKillop as Australia's first Saint in 1995 was the catalyst for growing public interest in the Foundress of the Congregation of the Sisters of St Joseph. Increasing numbers of 'guests' (as the Sisters describe pilgrims and other visitors) now visit Mount Street, North Sydney, the location of the Memorial Chapel containing the tomb of Mary MacKillop.

My principal purpose was to understand the Sisters' experiences of visitor impacts through a qualitative investigation. The research commenced in 1999 and was on-going until 2002 as field materials were analysed and this public text written. In adding to the knowledge of tourism social impacts, the investigation is distinguished by the ontology, epistemology, and methodology of constructivism (in both constructivist and constructionist forms). Through the construction and interpretation of their stories, gathered during informal, minimally structured topical life history interviews with Sisters who voluntarily shared their experiences, a richly textured bricolage was created. How visitors and their impacts are experienced by a host community comprising members of a religious Order, has not been widely researched, especially at emerging, rather than long-established, pilgrimage destinations. No comparable research has focused on the Sisters of St Joseph following the Beatification of Blessed Mary MacKillop.

The study postulates a theory of 'touristic ministry', a term offered by one Sister, and with which the views of others coalesced, to describe the Congregation's activities in seeking innovative ways to extend traditional Josephite ministries. The Sisters have experienced relocation; the effects of commercialization; the redefinition of formerly private places into public-ised spaces; and the ambiguity of traditional spatial and social boundaries. Touristic ministry is founded on using the impacts of increasing visitor numbers in positive ways to achieve higher purposes with which the community concurs, and in ways that fundamentally transcend the mere catering to visitors. The Sisters' supportive attitudes towards visitors, and their tolerance of visitor impacts, reflect five Cs: Concurrency with wider social, and especially religious, changes; Congruence with prevailing social norms characteristic of the Congregational community; Compliance with the decisions of Congregational Leaders; Confluence with intrinsic factors such as age and proximity to the development; and Consensus regarding the higher altruistic purposes of the development of Mary MacKillop Place. This notion has wider implications in understanding community attitudes toward visitors and their social impacts. Despite disruptions and potentially negative impacts, visitors may be perceived more positively when host community members see them as a means to a greater end.

Abstract:
With the increase in travel frequency at global level, destinations compete with each other to attract tourists. The tourists have a vast array of destinations to choose from. The destinations compete at global as well as regional level. These developments in tourism bring forth the importance of marketing for a destination. The destination marketing is generally undertaken by destination marketing organizations (DMOs) which operate at national, regional as well as local level in a country. In context of India, MOT (Ministry of Tourism, Government of India) undertakes the role of a DMO and is responsible for formulation and implementation of marketing strategies to promote India as a destination at global level. Further, it is imperative to understand the perception of other stakeholder about the marketing strategies of MOT in order to recognize the effectiveness of its marketing efforts. Being co-creator of destination image, inbound tour operators are considered as the key stakeholders at the destination. The objective of this chapter is to understand the perception Indian inbound tour operators towards the marketing strategies carried out by MOT. The data for the study was collected through structured questionnaire. The findings of the study indicated that inbound tour operators perceived marketing plans adopted by Ministry of tourism were effective to position India as a tourist destination at global level. At planning stage of strategy making for promoting India as tourist destination, MOT does not seek the opinion of inbound tour operators. It is suggested that MOT should involve inbound tour operators for drawing the marketing strategies for India as they are key seller for the tourism product.

Abstract:
In recent years, rural villages of India have found a place on the tourist map of the world. Not only does rural tourism provide an additional source of income to the villagers but it also helps showcase the rural life and culture of the people, such as art, crafts, and heritage, etc., of the village and community. At present, most of the states of India are facing many challenges for the implementation of rural tourism projects, which stands against achieving the objective of the project set-up by the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. Some of the problems are very grave and need immediate attention of the administration. The Department of Tourism, Govt. of Odisha, has identified eight villages in the state for implementation of the Rural Tourism project. Padmanavapur, a village in South Odisha is one of them. The author has taken this village to study the impact of rural tourism on the socio-cultural life of the local community. The chapter indicates that the village has a high potential for tourists, but due to the delay in implementation and completion of the project, the stakeholders are not getting the desired benefits.

This chapter shows that Iran has similar advantages to countries with a more developed brand of health tourism, including low costs, quality health services, competent doctors, and abundant natural and cultural attractions. The Health and Medical Ministry has developed 6 mandatory guidelines for medical centers receiving health tourists: these include the general condition of the facility, the workforce, medical facilities, geographical location, operational conditions, and the content of medical center websites. The Ministry offers facilities to hospitals and organizations applying to join the medical tourism program. In particular, the progressive provision of medical procedures, the distribution and marketing of health services, medical training, medical products, and equipment, is within a standardized framework of guidelines and development priorities. The chapter concludes that these interventions are designed to establish an effective presence in world and regional medical tourism markets.

India has been coming up as a growing destination in terms of medical tourism. Medical tourism in India at present is valued around $7-8 billion dollars. High quality services in medical context at an affordable cost have made India one of the prominent destinations of medical tourism. Medical tourism in India is exponentially growing at a rate of 30% every year. Chennai is termed as the “Health Capital of India” being the region with highest footfall in terms of medical tourists with highest number of hospitals with multi- and super-specialty services offering highest quality healthcare treatment at the lowest cost. Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Health and Family Welfare are working collaboratively to promote India as a premier medical tourism destination. Clarksdale, Mississippi has become a center of touristic interest in Johnson and a place where artists and investors seek to profit from a stereotyped, gothic-laden idea of the crossroads; this development bothers some black residents of the city, who feel as though their neighborhood, one historically connected with the blues, has been bypassed. The devil-blues lyric tradition, meanwhile, has flourished in the first fifteen years of the new millennium, a development driven both by Johnson's popularity and by a post-9/11 anxiety about "evil" at large in the world. The longstanding struggle between black southern ministers and purveyors of "the devil's music" continues into the present, at least in Mississippi, but with noticeably less intensity than in days gone by.

Abstract:
Mangrove ecosystems are of significant environmental and economic importance. Large populations worldwide depend on mangroves for their resources and food supply. Following mangrove data of 1997, Ecuador had an area of 2,469 km² of mangroves. This area has suffered some reductions due to farming, industrial activities, and urbanization in recent years. At the same time, local communities depend on the collection and commercialization of mangrove products as their primary income source. Infrastructure projected in mangrove areas needs a remarkable treatment with a holistic approach to consider technological, social, environmental, and economic aspects. The project will focus on the community 6 de Julio of the zone of Naranjal-Ecuador. One of the primary income sources of this community is the collection and commercialization of the mangrove crab, which is collected at the nearby mangrove areas authorized by the Ministry of Environment, for which the community needs to abide by the regulations and closure periods to guarantee the sustainability of the activity. The primary research's objective is to study the best infrastructure options to help with the crab collection activity. So, it is safer and cleaner and aims to diversify activities such as touristic or educational that can become an alternative income source during the closure periods and reduce the dependence on the crab collection.

Abstract:
The report includes an analysis of the state, trends and prospects of beekeeping and its relationship with tourism in Bulgaria. Beekeeping is considered as a branch of agriculture from its inception after the Liberation to our time and dynamics of development. The report presents the resource base (traditions, condition, production and sale of honey). For the needs of the analysis, data from the NSI, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the associations of beekeepers, processors and traders of honey and bee products, the Ministry of Tourism and branch tourist organizations and a survey of the author were used. Beekeeping is presented in the relation as a resource for the development of apitourism (bee tourism), as a non-traditional attractive specialized species, supporting farmers through non-agricultural practices.

Abstract:
Along with the tremendous rise of Cambodia's construction sector, Cambodians, particularly those living in cities and rural tourism destinations today, embrace the rising influx of new architectural styles. This aspect has an impact on the value of Khmer architectural and urban aesthetics. Furthermore, the construction of buildings in rural tourist destinations in Cambodia has been considerably influenced by modern architectural features, such as the development of hotels, guesthouses, and resorts. This article's research on the construction of buildings in rural tourism resorts in the Kingdom of Cambodia reveals that the majority of these architectural structures are not motivated to incorporate or showcase Khmer architectural styles. Instead, it emphasizes modern and blended foreign styles that lead to a loss of national identity. Those resorts, on the other hand, do not follow the ideals of sustainable development, causing environmental damage and building structures that are unsuitable for Cambodia's tropical environment.Recognizing that tourism and architecture are inextricably linked and play a significant role in fostering Khmer identity through architectural inspiration in rural tourism as well as tourism promotion. Through field research and literature review, the tourism market in Cambodia will be strengthened as a result of the quick development and continual improvement of the country's tourism industry, while also promoting the effective growth and development of the national economy and allowing other aspects of the country to advance and develop. According to the Ministry of Tourism of the Kingdom of Cambodia's study, "The Planning of Tourism Development 2012 to 2020," which focused particularly on Cambodia's cultural and natural tourism resources. Furthermore, in terms of the Cambodian people's living choices, in recent years, individuals have been engaged in many types of commercial operations, particularly tourism activities, with a good momentum of development. Simultaneously with the continued development and promotion of tourist resorts and hotels, such as those in the Kingdom's sea areas, mountains, and rural regions, other cultural regions will be developed as tourism attractions.Currently, the number of tourists in Cambodia is significantly decreased due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, with an enthusiastic attitude, the Cambodian government aims to promote the development of local tour destinations for each district through creative tourism services in rural areas with the involvement of various partners including private sectors, foreign investors, and from all levels of the government institutions. Andung Tek commune in the Botum Sakor district is facing various problems such as deforestation and overdevelopment that have become more and more harmful to the environment and local people. The paper seeks to address these problems and come up with potential solutions to solve the problems. Additionally, to answer the problems, the project in this article also established long-term planning methods such as disaster prevention, human resource development, and promoting attractive advantage tourism. As a result, uses a housing model with a unique Khmer housing architectural style include interaction design objectives, and home structure and landscape design to promote sustainable development in the areas and to transform the area into an attractive tourist destination for both locals and foreigners.

Abstract:
The COVID-19 pandemic has made the tourism industry in Malaysia decline drastically. The outbreak has continued for almost two years and has decreased local and international tourist arrivals. The decline is because of the Movement Control Order (MCO) execution, and safety precautions were issued when travelling. Nevertheless, the impressive rate of deterioration in pandemic transmission gives a new shade to domestic tourism. The Tourism Ministry has put forward an initiative that can revitalise the economic sector in the country by introducing the travel bubble destinations among Malaysians. With that, the main purpose of this study is to explore the travel bubble risk anxiety, risk attitude, and intention to travel among Malaysian when COVID-19 is still plaguing the nation. A self-administered survey was conducted online using a snowballing technique. The data collected was keyed in and analysed according to the objectives of this study. The main findings of this study highlighted that those respondents would feel anxious and worried about their safety when participating in the travel bubble. Statistical significance also revealed the respondents’ intentions to travel during the COVID-19 outbreak. Further discussions of the findings were also highlighted to deliberate the implications of the study.

Abstract:
The tools of digitisation and enabling technologies for an inclusive use of cultural and environmental resources, programmed and incentivized within the PST – “Piano Strategico di Sviluppo del Turismo 2017-2022” (PST) of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism - represent an extraordinary opportunity to promote and extend responsible, cultured tourism attentive to the development of the main centres, also of the smaller towns and the Inner Areas, acting as drivers both from an economic point of view - as future development resources for the repopulation of areas subject to abandonment and marginalization - and as opportunities to promote the rediscovery and the start of a new cultural trend able to promote knowledge and enhancement of the multiple resources of the territory, going beyond the current range of users and incidence (see PST 2017-2022). The paper analyses these aspects, combining them with the themes of integrated enhancement of the cultural heritage of the Inner Areas and with the sustainable tourism policies of the 2030 Agenda. In particular, it analyses the ways in which the use of new technologies and digital tools applied to cultural heritage can significantly contribute to the enhancement and cultural promotion of Inner Areas and territorial contexts penalised by the absence of effective infrastructures and net-works.Through the principles of sustainability, innovation, accessibility and the physical and cultural permeability of places, which are the basis of the 2017-2022 TSP, new ways are outlined for the valorisation and tourist enjoyment of the cultural heritage of sites and territorial itineraries that are usually little explored and practised but which are crucial and strategic in terms of increasing social, cultural and economic value; of overcoming differences and promoting new competitive scenarios centred on the complexity and variety of the heritage visited (cultural permeability) and on the themes of the unique-ness and richness of stratified territorial and environmental heritages.

Abstract:
Purpose – In previous works we discussed the contribution of digital tourism not only to the improvement of the reputation of a Country (i.e. Sentiment Analysis) but also of the possibility to create opportunities for a new kind of online tourism. In recent times, with the development of the so-called Metaverse, also influenced by the pandemic emergency, Countries’ digital efforts in creating tourism opportunities gave new perspectives related to the possibility to capitalize on digital content, transforming them – jointly with physical tourism experiences – into possible further incomes and means to increase a Countries’ reputation. Specifically, in this context, we considered the enabling technology represented by Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), an innovative application of blockchains creating a unique opportunity in several sectors, including tourism. This work aims to explore possible applications of NFTs in tourism, analyzing the experiences currently in place. Methodology – Due to the innovative topic and the very few experiences in NFTs applications in tourism, this paper represents a preliminary review of current projects implementing the use of NFTs, so that the applied methodology consists mainly in qualitative analysis and discussion about the possible development of this technology in tourism. To this purpose, we introduced some applications currently in place, such as those of travel agencies like Travala, of some airlines (Air Europa, Emirates), Cruises companies (Norwegian Cruise Line), of the Economic Development Ministry of Slovenia (project “I Feel Nft”, presented at Expo Dubai 2020, representing the first of this kind in the world). The paper explores possible implications and further development of these initiatives, designing possible metrics to measure their success, paving the way for future quantitative analysis once data about the introduced case-studies is available. Findings – Through the discussion of the cases found, it appears that the main benefits of digitisation through NFTs consist in promoting and presenting major tourist destinations, exhibitions, works of art and companies’ products in the form of tokens, digital content and souvenirs for visitors. However, some of the analysed cases also suggest possible applications for actual commerce in the tourism sector, including ticketing services and hotel bookings. Other possible applications can be hypothesised with regard to the certified training of staff working in the hospitality sector. Originality of the research – The paper is highly innovative and currently unique in that the adoption of NFTs in tourism is recent and still open to proposals for implementation. The contribution is therefore very important, both in terms of operational proposals (applications, guidelines and good practices) and in terms of defining metrics for measuring the effectiveness of NFTs in the tourism economy.
