Abstract. In the Arctic, shrubs are expanding and are covered by snow most of the year. Shrub branches buried in snow absorb solar radiation, reducing irradiance. This modifies the profile of radiative energy absorption in the snowpack and therefore its temperature gradient and metamorphism. Perhaps more importantly, it also reduces photochemical reaction rates and the emission of reactive and climatically active molecules to the atmosphere. Scams involving university degrees are flourishing in many emerging markets. Using a resume experiment in India, this paper studies the impact of gray degrees, or potentially bought academic credentials from questionable universities, on callback rates to job applications. The experiment varied the type of degree (no, gray, and authentic) in online applications to entry-level jobs that require no university qualification. The Sydney University camera is a 256×256 pixel detector which can operate at speeds greater than 1 million photons per second and produce individual photon coordinates with a deadtime of only 300 ns.
