Abstract:
This paper deals with the mechanical characteristics of cashew nut and cutting the shell in a mechanized way to reduce the time. Presently shearing of shell of cashew nut is done manually, which is labour intensive and hazardous. During shearing of cashew nut shell a liquid is coming out which is corrosive which is hazardous and in turn consumes the lot of time because of its oily property. This automatic power operated cashew nut Sheller may be operated by unskilled worker. The release of kernel from the shell with no damage and breakage is possible with this. An automatic power operated cashew nut Sheller is based on the principle of shear with respect to cutters is mounted on sliding guide ways. Now-a-days few automatic cashew nut shelling machines are present but there are some problems such as it cannot be adjusted along the guide as per the size of cashew nut therefore efficiency of machine may get reduced and cost may increase. This research overcomes the problem by manufacturing automatic cashew nut shelling machine using spring adjustment guide with respect to size of cashew nut and in turn improves the efficiency. Firstly fracture point of cashew nut shell and depth required for cutting the shell is determined, after that as per fracture point the guide Vee is designed near cutting section. An automatic cashew nut Sheller is having two cutters to shear the cashew nut shelling with automatic feeding of cashew nut one after another through Vee guide. Cutter is mounted on sliding guide ways which move between the two Vee guides which carries two blades which creates impact load on cashew nut. These two blades are used to split the kernels from shell by operating the cutter. After de-shelling, nut falls freely in tray due to the gravity. The finding suggests the capacity of the machine as 25kg/hr. This paper summarizes a semi automatic method over manual method. It also deals with the advantages of semi automatic method https://journalnx.com/journal-article/20150230

Abstract:
Students Worksheet is a very important guide for doing work in the laboratory which is often used by teachers and students. This study aims to analyze the existence of the constituent components and to provide an overview of the Students Worksheet Catalase Enzyme Test contained in the High School Biology textbooks. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method with a samples of 8 Students Worksheet chosen by using purposive sampling technique. The research instrument used was a LKS analysis instrument, table of work step and rubric test results based on the Vee diagram. The results showed that the Students Worksheet in terms of conceptual analysis as a whole was not in accordance with the applicable curriculum. For practical analysis as a whole it has shown quite good results even though there are still some Students Worksheet whose components are incomplete. Then the analysis of knowledge construction shows that the knowledge construction process has not been developed properly. In addition, from the results of the work step test there are still problems as in the choice of sentence instructions the steps of the work are less precise and less appropriate so that it can confuse students in their execution. In terms of completeness and component scores Students Worksheet based on the Vee Diagram, only a small portion of the catalase enzyme student activity sheet did not have the complete Vee Diagram component. Nevertheless, these components have different qualities which are indicated by the achievement scores of each component of Diagram Vee. Based on these problems, the Catalyst Enzyme Test LKS requires an analysis and improvement in terms of conceptual, procedural, and knowledge construction.

Abstract:
AbstractThe goal of the present work was to create a comprehensive guide to obtain 3-ply veneer laminates with a stable form. More precisely, a single curvature vee-bending test has been conducted on commercially available radiata pine (Pinus radiataD. Don) veneer plywood, in which the veneer was pre-softened in water. Within the framework of a parametric study, the spring-back and spring-forward of the 3-ply laminates was quantitatively evaluated. The variability and final contributions of each parameter was observed by a statistical data evaluation. The forming temperature and pre-forming moisture content were found to have the highest influences, while the experimental results could be satisfactorily simulated by calculations according to Taguchi.

Abstract:
Natural Science learning at the elementary, high school and university levels is certainly closely related to the practicum learning method. Practical activities, experiments and observations of objects and direct phenomena can motivate students and can bridge students to gain direct experience in studying science phenomena that cannot be obtained from ordinary textbooks. In preparing laboratory activities, it is necessary to consider whether the practicum worksheet can guide and direct students to form knowledge or not. Most practicum worksheets in circulation today have not yet reached the expected criteria, one of which is a worksheet on plant respiration in one of the science packagebooks for junior high school / MTs grade 8. Based on this, it is necessary to conduct an analysis and reconstruction to improve the existing worksheets. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. There are three stages carried out in this study, namely: 1) analyzing the initial practicum worksheet; 2) conducting a limited trial on the initial practicum worksheet; and 3) reconstructing the practicum worksheet based on the trial results. Several weaknesses and obstacles were found during the trial which became the basis for improving the worksheets. Reconstruction of the worksheet was then carried out based on the suggestions for improvement obtained during the trial. After reconstruction, the practicum worksheet for respiration in plants experienced an increase in score, which was originally in the sufficient category (44%) to the very good category (83%).

Abstract:
Due to the fourth industrial revolution, manufacturing companies are looking to implement digital twins in their factories to be more competitive. However, the implementation of digital twins in manufacturing systems is a complex task. Factories need a framework that can guide them in the development of digital twins. Hence, this article proposes a small-scale digital twin implementation framework for manufacturing systems. To build this framework, the authors gathered several concepts from the literature and designed a digital twin subsystem model using a model-based systems engineering (MBSE) approach and the systems engineering “Vee” model. The systems modelling defines the digital twin components, functionalities, and structure. The authors distribute most of these concepts throughout the framework configuration and some concepts next to this general configuration. This configuration presents three spaces: physical, virtual, and information. The physical space presents a physical layer and a perception layer. The information space has a single layer called middleware. Finally, the virtual space presents two layers: application and model. In addition to these layers, this framework includes other concepts such as digital thread, data, ontology, and enabling technologies. This framework could help researchers and practitioners to learn more about digital twins and apply it to different domains.

Student Worksheet (LKS) is a guide and support for practicum in learning science / science. In biology lessons, especially the material of Spermatophyta Submaterial Plantae, currently it is not optimal. This can be seen from the content of the worksheets that do not cover all the competencies that have been formulated in the curriculum. Therefore, this study aims to reconstruct the worksheets on the Spermatophyta submaterial Plantae. The research method used the ANCOR (Analysis-Try-Reconstruction) approach. At the analysis stage, the LKS analysis process is based on conceptual, practical, and knowledge construction aspects. Then at the trial stage carried out without changes in tools, materials and procedures. Furthermore, the LKS reconstruction refers to the vee diagram and applies a process skills approach. The results showed that there were problems with the Spermatophyta LKS in the field, including the contents of the worksheets that did not cover all the competencies expected by the curriculum, the work steps were less relevant and the discussion questions did not support the student's knowledge construction process. The results of the reconstruction worksheets were added by phenetic analysis activities to align with the basic competencies that had been formulated. These reconstruction worksheets can become alternative worksheets in accordance with curriculum standards and representatives for all time.

These organizational evolutions induce logically the need for adapting tools and methods of work in order to better manage the product lifecycle (PLM concept). Within the framework of this thesis, we are interested in the issue of interoperability of manufacturing knowledge with the product design activity. This is in line with an approach of design for manufacturability. Numerous design for manufacturability tools are already available, but they are not generic enough, and they lay on tightly coupling domains. This proposition consists in modelling manufacturing knowledge as rules, and to use and reuse this know-how through synthetic design approach of the DIJA project. The choosen principle consists in assisting, guiding and making aware the designer during design, by observing influence of his/her acts over manufacturing possibilities and conditions, while respecting confidentiality. Implementation of this approach brings into play a generic state notion, as well as two kinds of graphs which support user interactions and rules management. Thus, we study evolution of knowledge implied during design tools use, which results into transformation of the graphs. A prototype implementing this approach allowed to validate the fundamental concepts

Abstract:

Thus, considering the state of art in veterinary medicine, studies presented in this dissertation focus on pain management relate to soft tissue surgeries and medical conditions. An ultrasound-guided approach was used to assess cervical plexus block (US-CPB) in dog cadavers and to preliminary assess spermatic cord block (US-SCB) in dogs undergoing orchiectomy. A Neurostimulated approach to mandibular and facial nerves was assessed in dogs and rabbits undergoing total ear canal ablation and lateral bulla osteotomy (TECALBO). Furthermore, a different technique was described as a case report in a rabbit undergoing partial ear canal ablation and lateral bulla osteotomy (PECA-LBO), considering the different surgical technique used and the individual and specie-specific characteristics. Blind celiac plexus block is reported in a dog to manage severe pain related to acute pancreatitis irresponsive to conventional systemic analgesia. All these new techniques resulted to be feasible and those assessed in a clinical setting showed enhancement in anaesthetic stability and pain management, appearing to have promising application in clinical practice.

Abstract:

Abstract:
Companies must now satisfy and seduce these people whoare increasingly exigent, by being a source of innovation and new ideas. Thus, companies are more and moreinterested in their product design process, in order to better take into account, the human factor. It requires aspecific approach to make people have positive and quality experiences. In this approach, people are at the heart ofthe concerns of the product design actors. In this context, the design process requires the intervention of differentdisciplines rightly sensitive to human factor. In our research, we focused on ergonomics and design, two disciplinessensitive to people who are moving towards new practices: design for "needs" and the prospective ergonomics. Ourresearch is focus on the practices of these two disciplines that converge on a common vision, which is a prospectiveand "humanist" one, of the product design for a better integration of people. The main scientific challenge of ourwork is to better understand ergonomics and design current practices in a product design context. This, to suggestto these actors an approach (IDLifeS) and tools (Knowledge Guides), interdisciplinary, which correspond to thedevelopment of their practices and offer them to co-design products and life situations which correspond to theneeds, wishes and characteristics of people

In a guild, species exploit the same type of resources; consequently, fundamental ecological niches of guild members are similar and an interspecific competitive relationship is established if shared resources are limiting. Four main questions on the functioning of a guild are addressed: (1) the spatiotemporal scales to which guilds the guild and its exploited resources are structures, (2) the respective weight of environmental filtering and interspecific interactions on the configuration of realized niches of guild members, (3) the strategy of resource exploitation in a guild member facing low resource availability and (4) the impact of climatic context on the structure of a guild and its food web, and the degree of specialisation on resources. The biological model chosen in this study was a cereal aphid parasitoid guild (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Aphidiinae). Those parasitoids attack aphids (Homoptera: Aphididae) in agroecosystems, which are anthropised environments marked by high disturbance rates and in which host resources are variable in density and in quality. Relative abundance variations in parasitoids and in their hosts were considerable at interregional and interannual scales, but weak at the intra-regional scale. Functional trait divergence in parasitoids was maintained across three regions and two years, and regional and annual environmental contexts influenced guild traits as a whole. In winter, a period marked by low aphid density, the parasitoid Aphidius rhopalosiphi presented contrasted strategies to maximise fitness whilst exploiting Sitobion avenae and Rhopalosiphum padi hosts, but a high degree of ecological specialisation in the field was observed in the presence of a competitive species, Aphidius avenae. This presence was correlated to an increase in winter temperatures

Abstract:
AbstractWe present a verification-based learning framework VEL that synthesizes safe programmatic controllers for environments with continuous state and action spaces. The key idea is the integration of program reasoning techniques into controller training loops. VEL performs abstraction-based program verification to reason about a programmatic controller and its environment as a closed-loop system. Based on a novel verification-guided synthesis loop for training, VEL minimizes the amount of safety violation in the proof space of the system, which approximates the worst-case safety loss, using gradient-descent style optimization. Experimental results demonstrate the substantial benefits of leveraging verification feedback for synthesizing provably correct controllers.

Abstract:
This chapter provides both theoretical underpinnings and practical examples of designing and implementing the “thinking curriculum” for the “global classroom.” The authors argue that teaching and learning in the global classroom calls for (1) thinking about the curriculum at a deeper level toward (2) implementing collaborative learning projects that count for multicultural and multilingual online learning environments. They use the term “thinking curriculum” to capture the proposition that teaching and learning are always concept- and assessment-based. The authors discuss examples of two thinking tools, concept mapping and Vee diagramming, to illustrate how these tools can help teachers think and communicate about the whole curricular process in a scientific way. In the second part of the chapter, the authors offer examples of collaborative learning projects that were implemented in the global classroom. In summary, this chapter is a practical guide for teachers who wish to think about their curriculum in a scientific way and recognize the value of creating a global classroom for preparing students for their roles in the global economy.

Abstract:
In this work, a unified framework integrating global and local SHM methods for structural health monitoring (SHM) of rotorcraft structures is proposed. This framework integrates both "local" ultrasonic-guided wave-based and "global" vibration-based SHM schemes for tackling damage detection, identification, and quantification under uncertainty. The local SHM is completed by training a variation of variational auto-encoder (MMD-VAE) along with feed-forward neural networks (FFNN). The compressed latent space vector obtained during the training process is applied to achieve both signal reconstruction and state prediction. In terms of the global model, functionally pooled auto-regressive models with exogenous excitation (VFP-ARX) models are applied including to capture low-frequency vibrations. The complete experimental evaluation and assessment of the proposed framework are presented for an Airbus H125 helicopter blade under both low-frequency vibrations and ultrasonic guided waves for SHM.

Abstract:
Minimally invasive surgery (MIS) has become the gold standard in many surgical procedures [1]. Although it provides a better outcome for patients it has a slower learning curve [2, 3]. In laparoscopic surgery trainees need to learn how to interpret the operative field dis- played on the laparoscopic screen. Experts currently guide trainees only verbally during laparoscopic surgi- cal procedures. We developed the iSurgeon which al- lows the instructor to make hand gestures that are de- tected by an RGB-D camera (colour resolution: 1920x1080 pixels, 30 fps, depth resolution: 512x424 pixels, 30 fps) and displayed on the laparoscopic screen in augmented reality (AR) to provide visual expert guidance (telestration) [4]. Thus, the expert can provide clearer instructions by using gestures in addition to ver- bal instructions. This study analysed the effect of iSur- geon guided instructions on the gaze behaviour of in- structor and trainee during laparoscopic surgery. We also aimed to find out if the iSurgeon affects the per- formance and the cognitive workload of the trainees.

Abstract:
Comment réussit-on à promouvoir l’engagement social?

Abstract:
Increasing population growth and high living standards, coupled with high consumption of energy and raw materials, result in a variety of emissions and waste that pollute the environment and pose a serious threat to the environment and health if not disposed of effectively. Pollution of the environment with plastic wastes and endocrine disruptors is one of the most important environmental problems affecting today's societies and nature. The Turkish Academy of Sciences, Environment, Biodiversity and Climate Change Working Group organized the "Workshop on Micro plastics, Endocrine Disruptors and Environmental Impacts" hosted by ITU North Cyprus on 3-5 November 2023 in order to draw attention to this global problem, raise awareness and develop solutions. At the workshop, experts and respected scientists, officials of institutions and organizations, non-governmental organizations, members of the press and participants from the public discussed the issue comprehensively for a sustainable future. This work has compiled and presented to you, our esteemed readers, the important issues that were presented, discussed and debated during the workshop on plastics, micro pollutants and endocrine disruptors, which can create awareness in our country and universally, and the scientific research and project outputs that can guide decision-makers.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The PREPARE (Promoting collaborative policies of inclusion relating to children of far right and Islamist parents in Western Europe) project aims to identify vulnerabilities and stigmas that children may face when their parents are involved in violent extremist (VE) networks, and how frontline practitioners can best address them through a collaborative approach centred on the needs of the child. It aims to support these children by supporting frontline practitioners working with these children and their families in six European countries (the Netherlands, Spain, France, Sweden, Germany and Kosovo) to develop a state-of-the-art Child Vulnerability and Intervention Tool and training modules for practitioners. Central to the PREPARE project is ensuring that human rights, the rule of law, and children’s rights remain at the forefront throughout the development and implementation of interventions and programmes aimed at supporting children of families with links to VE. This report thus aims to provide guidance for practitioners on how to support these children through a human rights- and rule of law-compliant approach, that centres on children’s needs, well-being, and long-term prospects, and helps mitigate the risks of stigmatisation, polarisation, and discrimination. This report starts by providing an overview of the rights of the child, as defined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), including the four general principles that should inform the implementation of all other rights, as well as any decisions and interventions affecting children, namely the non-discrimination principle, the best interests of the child, the child’s inherent right to life, survival and development, and the child’s right to express their views freely. It notably aims to inform practitioners on what these rights are, to what extent children raised in families with links with VE might see some of these rights infringed upon, as well as how they should inform their work. Finally, this report focuses on providing guidance on identified good practices to support children growing in families with links to VE, which include adopting victim-centred, individually-tailored, gender- and age- conscious approach, developing multidisciplinary and multi-actor programmes, and providing adequate training for practitioners. In addition, the report will further address some of the key challenges and practises to avoid in regards to the safeguarding the rights of children in families with links to VE. Practices to avoid notably include security-centred approaches, one-size-fits-all responses, practices causing re-traumatisation, lack of trust between children and implementers, lack of and/or inadequate training, and lack of long-term funding to ensure sustainable support for children having been exposed to VE environments.
