Abstract:
Web server development is often hindered by the cost and resources required, as developing a web server typically requires a bare-metal server. Container technology, which allows for the development of multiple web servers on a single bare-metal server, has become popular. One of the most widely used containers is Docker. Docker reduces the need for costs and resources. Beyond the issues of cost and resource requirements, the performance of web servers also needs to be considered. The performance of web servers with and without Docker needs to be verified. This research aims to test the performance of two web servers, one using Docker and one not using Docker, utilizing the native hypervisor VMware ESXi. The web server performance test items in this study include CPU and RAM resource usage. The method for developing infrastructure systems uses SIDLC (System Infrastructure Development Life Cycle). Performance testing (Load Test) was conducted using Apache JMeter as a tool, with the manipulation of the number of threads predetermined. Resource usage information was monitored using Prometheus and Grafana. The research results show that with the same resources for each virtual machine, the CPU resource usage of Virtual Machine 2 (Undockerized) is less than that of Virtual Machine 1 (Dockerized). Meanwhile, RAM resource usage is not affected by the number of users on both virtual machines. Virtual Machine 2 (Undockerized) is better at handling HTTP requests. Virtual Machine 1 (Dockerized) can handle only 2,790 users, while Virtual Machine 2 (Undockerized) can handle more than 2,790 users without errors.

Abstract:
Pada penelitian ini, bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaaan hasil belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan Virtualbox dan Vmware Workstation pada mata pelajaran Komputer dan Jaringan Dasar di SMK N 1 Tondano. Metode Penelitian ini adalah Eksperimen dengan populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X SMK 1 N Tondano berjumlah 320 siswa sedangkan sampel penelitian adalah, Seluruh Kelas Multimedia berjumlah 64 siswa. Terdiri dari dua kelas, masing-masing kelas terdiri 32 siswa. data hasil penelitian diambil dengan menggunakan instrumen penelitan Posttest Berdasarkan nilai rata-rata posttest pada kelas eksperimen memperoleh nilai rata-rata 77.66 dan kelas kontrol memperoleh nilai rata-rata 75.16, yang telah diuji validitas, reliabilitas, normalitas, Pada Uji Homogenitas atau Uji-F diperoleh Ftabel = 4.16. karena Fhitung = 1.2464< Ftabel = 4.16 maka disimpulkan sampel yang diteliti mempunyai varians yang sama atau homogen dan uji hipótesis. Berdasarkan uji-t polled varians diperoleh thitung < ttabel, thitung = 0.5774 dan diperoleh ttabel = 1.9989. karena thitung = 0.5774 < ttabel = 1.9989 maka diterima dan ditolak dengan taraf signifikan α : 5%. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar antara siswa yang menggunakan media simulasi Virtualbox kurang lebih sama dengan hasil belajar kelas kontrol yang menggunakan media pembelajaran simulasi VMware Workstation.namun kedua media simulasi sama baiknya digunakan dalam pembelajaran karena dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar.

La virtualización de servidores se sitúa en la actualidad en una de las facetas más importantes dentro de las tendencias de modernización del mundo empresarial, la virtualización de los sistemas informáticos se usa para paliar y en muchos casos eliminar la infra-utilización de servidores. Ante estas nuevas tendencias y con el objetivo de estar a la vanguardia en el MINREX se está pensando en la virtualización de los servicios de red que ofrece, para paliar la falta de recursos hardware que enfrenta actualmente; sin embargo, antes de proceder a esta virtualización se hace necesario un estudio para obtener información sobre la viabilidad de este proceso; lográndose identificar las principales barreras que enfrenta la virtualización, así como también el software más apropiado para llevar a cabo este proceso. El tipo de investigación que se realizó fue un estudio explorativo de corte transversal, donde se logró identificar como principales barreras al proceso de virtualización el costo inicial y la falta de personal calificado, sin embargo los factores más determinantes para llevar a cabo este proceso son: ahorro en recursos hardware, minimización del consumo energético y mayor eficiencia operativa, siendo los software más adecuado de implementación VMWare y VirtualBox. Abstract:
Modern networks and data transmission systems are based mainly on the use of Cisco hardware, as well as (to a lesser extent) Huawei equipment. The introduction of sanctions led to the expansion of by domestic enterprises, among which the most famous is the Eltex. A serious disadvantage of Eltex when creating and debugging data networks, as well as when training specialists in operating networks and systems, was the lack of software tools for modeling network devices, such as Packet Tracer for Cisco; eNSP for Huawei, GNS3. To resolve this problem, Eltex developers created «vESR» (Virtual Service Router). The vESR router was introduced on June 6, 2023 [1]. It is designed for configuring and debugging routing, as well as protecting corporate networks. vESR is installed via Oracle VirtualBox or VMware ESXi hypervisors on the Linux or Windows system.

Abstract:
Medan servervirtualisering växt väldigt mycket det senaste decenniet har Apple nyligen börjat tillåta virtualisering av deras operativsystem Mac OS X. På grund av Apples stora framgångar med att lyckas sälja sina produkter till hemanvändare har nu även Mac-datorer börjat hitta till arbetsplatsen. Detta gör att det kommer finnas ett behov av att virtualisera Mac OS X i företagsmiljöer i framtiden då servervirtualisering är väldigt kostnadseffektivt. För att kunna virtualisera krävs en så kallad hypervisor. Det finns två olika typer, typ 1 och typ 2. I denna uppsats ville vi undersöka prestandaskillnader mellan dessa två typer vid virtualisering av Mac OS X. Detta för att kunna se hur prestandan skiljer dem sinsemellan. Prestandatester genomfördes i en experimentmiljö där resultaten visar att en typ 1-hypervisor ger mindre prestandaförluster än en typ 2- hypervisor.

Modern applications for analysing 2D/3D data require complex visual output features which are often based on the multi-platform OpenGL® API for rendering vector graphics. Instead of providing classical workstations, the provision of powerful virtual machines (VMs) with GPU support in a scientific cloud with direct access to high performance storage is an efficient and cost effective solution. However, the automatic deployment, operation and remote access of OpenGL® API-capable VMs with professional visualization applications is a non-trivial task. In this chapter the authors demonstrate the concept of such a flexible cloud-like analysis infrastructure within the framework of the project ASTOR. The authors present an Analysis-as-a-Service (AaaS) approach based on VMware™-ESX for on demand allocation of VMs with dedicated GPU cores and up to 256 GByte RAM per machine.

Intel and AMD have independently developed virtualization extensions to the x86 architecture referred to as hardware virtualization.

The ongoing pervasiveness of Internet access is intensively increasing Big Data production. This, in turn, increases demand on compute power to process this massive data, and thus rendering High Performance Computing (HPC) into a high solicited service. Based on the paradigm of providing computing as a utility, the Cloud is offering user-friendly infrastructures for processing Big Data, e.g., High Performance Computing as a Service (HPCaaS). Still, HPCaaS performance is tightly coupled with the underlying virtualization technique since the latter is responsible for the creation of virtual machines that carry out data processing jobs. In this paper, the authors evaluate the impact of virtualization on HPCaaS. They track HPC performance under different Cloud virtualization platforms, namely KVM and VMware-ESXi, and compare it against physical clusters. Each tested cluster provided different performance trends. Yet, the overall analysis of the findings proved that the selection of virtualization technology can lead to significant improvements when handling HPCaaS.

A vagrant is a freeware tool that facilitates to easily manage and configure multiple virtual machines. The main goal of its creation is to simplify the environment maintenance in a large project with multi technical tasks. It provides the better manageability and maintainability for the developers and prevents needless maintenance and improve the productivity for development using simple functions. Vagrant supports almost all main languages for the development, but it is written in the Ruby language. Vagrant was initially supported by Virtual Box, but the version 1.1 has the full vital support for VMware, KVM and other virtualization environment as well as for the server like Amazon EC2. It supports many programming languages such as C#, Python, PHP and JavaScript to enhance the project efficiency. Recently, version 1.6 may serve as a fully virtualized operating system due to the added support for Docker containers.
