Texto completoThough over fifty years of musical and poetic creation, Léo Ferré has gained recognition as a major standard in French songwriting. His popular best-seller songs Paris canaille, Jolie môme, C’est extra or Avec le temps succeded in giving him worldwide renown, though both lyrical and their melodic qualities. Behindhe who wrote over four hundred songs hides yet a true composer of symphonic pieces of great magnitude in many different genres : mass, symphony, ballet, opera, oratorio. . . Furthermore, he put into song poems out of any time period dating as far back as the middle-ages. This doctoral thesis shall study Ferré’s path mainly from a musical perspective. It shall cast light upon the reasons which caused him to work the « savant » genre instead of merely going « légère », and hence to present himself as creator of a new type of French songwriting. Ferré’s works shall this be analysed though their many aspects. The matter of recording technics and proceeds shall also be dealt with, as well as musical consumption and interpretation

From the artistic careers of composers Alberto Ginastera and Camargo Guarnieri, this essay aims to analyze the consequences of nationalism and musical ―avant-garde‖ in Argentina and Brazil from 1930 to 1960. So, we will develop a focus compared between these two countries in a way that these trajectories can be analyzed in line with broader intellectual paradigms – including international ones - that ended up favoring certain aesthetic forms in different periods covered. We believe that the artistic options of Ginastera and Guarnieri are related to the musical past of their respective societies, hence the importance of discussing the Argentine and Brazilian cultural history, as well as the place and the strength that the nationalist movements and ―avantgarde‖ aesthetics forms found there
Despax, Arnaud. "La question de la totalité dans la poésie française postérieure à la Seconde Guerre mondiale (André Frénaud, Patrice de La Tour du Pin, Pierre Emmanuel)". Toulouse 2, 2010. http://www.theses.fr/2010TOU20007.
Texto completoPoetic modernity is often said to be typified by its inclination towards silence, self-effacement, and fragmentation. Yet some poets belonging with the second half of the XXth century explicitly claim their desire and their right to confront the Great Totality. They do so in works that elaborate various strategies of poetic totalization in keeping with a Romantic tradition : that is particularly the case of André Frénaud, Patrice de La Tour du Pin and Pierre Emmanuel. In spite of their apparent anachronism, their works actually imply a tension that expresses the semantic dualism of the notion of totality, between intension (wholeness) and extension (allness) : does the whole-inclusive and self-contained Book ambition the fusing of multiplicity into a homogeneous whole, or does it open up to every thing without denying the infinite ? The breaking off induced by World War II enhances this problem, questioning the ambition of intensive totality and its inner risk of totalitarianism : that of the final Word which denies the rest of the world. Far from being blind to that risk, the three poets we study exhibit it. The temptation of totality is consequently checked by the irreducible singularity of beings and things. Undergoing a de-totalization caused by the axiological crisis of a compromised enunciatory posture, the works willingly suffer the injury of otherness that fragments them. Poetry is able to play the game of an extensive multiplicity : this capacity being grounded on an ethic of relationships, it thus reinvents its right to develop according to a totalizing dynamics. Therefore, the work exist by virtue of its issuing into the world
Dambacher, Martine Tania. "L'écriture de l'île dans l'oeuvre de Marie Susini et de Maria Giacobbe". Thesis, Strasbourg, 2012. http://www.theses.fr/2012STRAC003.
Texto completoMarie Susini and Maria Giacobbe, two female writers who were born in two islands of the Mediterranean - Corsica and Sardinia - and belonged to the same generation, have written about their native islands while they were abroad. Through her imagination exacerbated by the distance, each of them has recaptured her native Ithaca. The main object of this research is to study the genesis of their writing, the analysis of forms and themes connected to their constant interior “revisitation”. A comparative approach will further examine the text through the critical standards of Margherita Marras, and comparisons with the texts of other authors, whether they are insular or not. What is basically at stake is the question of identity: what is an insular writer? What does writing about an island consist in?
