Projection and/or forecasting of future electricity production and consumption is needed to ensure its availability. The purpose of this study is to present empirical facts regarding global electricity production (supply) and consumption needs (demand) in the last 30 years (1993-2022). The second objective is to project and create policy scenarios to meet global electricity needs in the future, until 2052. Using a quantitative descriptive paradigm to explain empirical facts based on quantitative data. Data were collected from electricity production and consumption reports by Enerdata, and the

The social cost of carbon repre-sents the present value of the global damages of climate change attributable to the emission of an additional ton of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Energy storage for medium- to large-scale applications is an important aspect of balancing demand and supply cycles. Hydropower generation coupled with pumped hydro storage is an old but effective supply/demand buffer that is a function of the availability of a freshwater resource and the ability to construct an elevated water reservoir. This work reviews the technological feasibility of hydropower generation and also pumped hydro storage and its geographical distribution around the world. The Namibian electricity sector has mainly relied on electricity imports from the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP) over the last decade. However, a growth in electricity demand and scarce import options could cause energy shortages. Therefore, new power plants ought to be commissioned in the near future to avoid the forecasted energy crisis. In this context, Concentrating Solar Power (CSP) generation is regarded as an appropriate alternative to conventional energy technologies, particularly for the excellent solar regime available in Namibia. The implementation of EMS integrates the corporate environmental management strategies and management commitment to sustainable development but most of the organisations in developing countries of West Africa are slow to adopt the management system. Another design that has received much attention is known as the pebble bed reactor. In this scheme, coated fuel particles are formed into billiard ball-size spheres, which are stacked in the containment vessel.
