Resumen
ABSTRACT We report the first evidence of a chromosome-encoded toxin-antitoxin locus in spirochetes. This locus has been found in the pathogenic spirochete Leptospira interrogans and exhibits homologies with the pem/chploci. The L. interrogans chp locus consists of two genes: chpK (for “killer protein”) and its upstream partner chpI (for “inhibitory protein”). Expression of ChpK in Escherichia coli results in the inhibition of bacterial growth. The coexpression of ChpI neutralizes ChpK toxicity. By Southern blot analysis, chp homologs were found in all representative pathogenic strains of L. in

Resumen
In the course of the research, the antitoxic and anti-infectious effects of the developed drug were determined on white mice and white rats. To assess the antitoxic effect in the experiment on white rats, cadmium damage was modeled, followed by taking into account the antidote activity. An increase in the survival rate of animals receiving the drug was found – 60 % versus 40 % in the control, higher hematological indicators: the content of hemoglobin, erythrocytes and leukocytes in the blood of experimental animals was higher than similar control values, respectively, by 3.8, 15.3 and 16,4 %.

Background: It is our opinion that amaranth seed oil’s properties merit further study due to their high quantity of squalene. Squalene has been shown to have antitoxic, antioxidant, and hepatotropic properties. The liver is one of the most important organs in the human body, and as a filtering organ, it is subjected to many toxic compounds and free radicals. Thus, protecting the liver with an antioxidant and antitoxic compound could offer significant benefits. Objective: In the present study we have evaluated the antitoxic, antioxidant, and hepatotropic (hepatoprotective) effects of amaranth oi

The paper studies the issues of practical application of exumid, which is a total extractive preparation containing a sum of phytoecdysteroids and iridoid glycosides isolated from an endemic plant of Uzbekistan. The increase in the antitoxic capabilities of the animal organism under the influence of exumid was also quite clearly revealed in the tissue hypoxia model. It was shown that in all the experiments conducted, Exumid exhibited a more pronounced positive effect than a well-known herbal medicinal product – liquid Eleutherococcus extract.

A ten-day course of karsil (silimarin, legalon) or silibor therapy improved the absorption (as indicated by ueviridin test) and oxidative-antitoxic (as shown by antipyrin test) hepatocyte functions in patients with non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus with hepatosis. A similar ten-day course of Liv-52 did not change the studied liver parameters. lnductothermal exposure of the splenic area (a 20 min session daily for 5 days) improved the absorption and antitoxic functions of the liver in diabetics. A positive effect of splenic inductothermia persisted for at least two weeks. The peak values

Resumen
Abstract The combination of immunomodulators and antibiotics in the treatment of animals with diseases of bacterial etiology is one of the effective strategies for animal therapy. The drug gentabiferon-B combines antibiotic gentamicin and species-specific (bovine) recombinant interferons -α and -γ. The study aimed to evaluate the effect of course application of gentabiferon-B on the cytogenetic stability of bone marrow cells of outbred mice after administering mitomycin C (MMC). The proportion of polychromatophilic erythrocytes in the bone marrow was assessed. There was no effect of gentabifer

Agada Tantra is one of the eight branches of Ayurveda which focusses on Viruddhaahara (Incompatible food), Gara Visha (Concocted poison) and Dushivisha (Denatured/Latent Poison), conditions and their treatments. There are different types of Agada yogas that are mentioned in the Vishachikitsa granthas which possess antitoxin properties, antioxidant activities can be very useful in such disease condition.

M.Sc. (Nanoscience)<br>Ochratoxin A and Aflatoxin B1 are important food contaminates as they are known to be mutagenic, genotoxic, nephrotoxic, hepatotoxic, immunosuppressive and teratogenic to both animals and humans. These mycotoxins are associated with the contamination of food stuff such as grapes, maize, red pepper, meat, milk, beans and processed products from contaminated raw material. Current physical, biological and chemical methods employed to improve the safety of food often compromise the nutritional value and result in huge losses. The alternative to these treatments are addition

Abstract In 1894, Emil Behring reported the discovery of antibodies, then called antitoxins, and their therapeutic effects (1). About 80 years later, Kohler and Milstein established the techniques to reliably produce monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) by hybridoma cell lines (2). This event, together with the availability of increasingly sophisticated molecular biology and protein engineering techniques, opened up the exciting new science area of antibody engineering, and led to the creation of antibodies and antibody-derived molecules designed to suit possible applications not only in the medical b
