Tese de Mestrado em Arquitectura com a especialização em Arquitectura de Interiores.
O presente trabalho tem como objectivo a adaptação de uma Instalação para Tratamento de Óleo de Fígado de Bacalhau em Cacilhas, Almada, para uma Extensão do Museu Colecção Berardo, de Arte Contemporânea. Propõe-se uma reflexão e uma clarificação sobre o Átrio do Museu, estruturando-o e resolvendo-o em projecto. Partindo de um breve enquadramento sobre o tema Museus, exerce-se a análise de um conjunto de Museus e de “Anti-Museus” construídos a partir da segunda metade do século XX. Segue-se a caracterização do espaço do Átrio em museus de século XXI, apresentando, por fim, uma descrição da proposta de projecto. Uma proposta de natureza cultural e comercial, de acordo com os desafios propostos para os novos museus do século XXI, separado em dois núcleos: um de “uso público”, comercial, uma construção nova, autónoma, relativa ao átrio e respectivas actividades; outro de “uso semi-público”, cultural, a partir da reabilitação da preexistência e de construção nova adaptadas ao programa museológico. Um projecto que sintetiza uma abordagem teórico-conceptual sobre o papel do Átrio do Museu, procurando conciliar a sua integração na preexistência industrial e, ao mesmo tempo, enfatizá-lo como espaço identitário e identificativo da nova realidade projectual.
ABSTRACT - The following work aims to adapt an Installation for the Treatment of Cod Liver Oil in Cacilhas, Almada, to an extension of the Berardo Collection Museum for Contemporary Art. It is proposed a reflection and a clarification of the Museum Lobby, structuring and solving it in project.Starting with a brief framework on the subject Museums, carries out the analysis of a set of Museums and "Anti-Museums" constructed from the second half of the twentieth century. The following is the characterization of the Lobby in museums of the twenty-first century and a description of the final Project. A proposal based on cultural and commercial policies, according to the new challenges posed to the museums of the twenty-first century, separated into two sections: one with "public use", commercial, a new construction related to the Lobby and its activities; other of "semi-public use," cultural, from the adaptation of the pre-existing building and the new construction to the museum program. A project that synthesizes a theoretical and conceptual approach on the role of the Museum Lobby, trying to integrate it into the industrial pre-existing building and, at the same time, to emphasize it as a space of identity and identification of the new project

Nesta dissertação reconhecemos o museu como um local de confinamento. O interior do ambiente é organizado com micro sistemas, que dinamizam a respetiva disciplina do local. Dentro dos micro sistemas está o Serviço Educativo, que dissemina disciplina educativa. Contudo, diante da atual ordem social, as disciplinas não permanecem confinadas: possuem uma estrutura rizomática e podem extravasar as barreiras físicas e alastrarem como um gás. Portanto, a disciplina educativa do Museu alastra e alcança outro local de confinamento, o centro sócio educativo. Comprovámos tal eficácia ao analisar o Serviço Educativo do Museu Coleção Berardo, difundindo as suas atividades educativas para além das suas fronteiras arquitetónicas. Então, a partir das respetivas áreas pedagógicas, edifica-se o casamento dos dois locais através de uma disciplina educativa destinada a jovens sentenciados à medida sócio educativa de internamento. O Programa Artístico Educativo Dedicado a Jovens em Medida Sócio Educativa de Internamento prevê atividades continuadas dentro do centro sócio educativo. A articulação das atividades tem um carácter construtivista, interacionista, dialogal, multicultural e pós-moderno. Em suma, o Programa Artístico Educativo proposto estimula os jovens à imaginação, criatividade, conhecimento e entendimento autónomos, para a reflexão, crítica e compreensão do universo ao seu redor, porque oferece como objetivo enaltecer os jovens infratores, quanto às ações sociais e sociáveis que podem desenvolver e que os auxilia na sua ressocialização e reinserção social.

Esta pesquisa analisa Berlin Alexanderplatz (1929), de Alfred Döblin, e Fontamara (1933), de Ignazio Silone, baseada nas novas concepções sobre o Bildungsroman, ou romance de formação, estabelecidas pelos olhares atualizadores de teóricos do século XX. O Bildungsroman, modalidade narrativa surgida no século XVIII, cuja obra paradigma é Os anos de aprendizado de Wilhelm Meister, de Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe, ressalta o desenvolvimento humano, seu processo de amadurecimento e conscientização ao longo de sua trajetória existencial. Os corpora desta dissertação são romances escritos no período conflituoso do entreguerras, cujo enredo destaca a luta interior e exterior das personagens em sobreviver àquele período e a consequente tomada de consciência adquirida neste percurso. O périplo metafórico vivenciado pelos protagonistas, de Fontamara, Berardo Viola, e de Berlin Alexanderplatz, Franz Biberkopf, tem como consequência uma nova consciência política, para o primeiro protagonista, e uma nova consciência social, para o segundo. O caminho formativo dos protagonistas constitui-se de maneira diversa. O objetivo deste estudo é, portanto, analisar como se realiza o processo de formação de Berardo Viola e Franz Biberkopf, apontando identidades e diferenças entre os dois processos, e, por fim, apontando como tais romances podem atualizar o conceito de Bildungsroman na história literária
This research studies Berlin Alexanderplatz (1929), of Alfred Döblin, and Fontamara, of Ignazio Silone, based on new conceptions of the Bildungsroman, or novel of formation, established by the looks updaters theorists of the twentieth century. The Bildungsroman, the narrative form that emerged in the eighteenth century, whose work paradigm is Wilhelm Meister's Apprenticeship (1795-1976) , of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, emphasizes human development, the process of maturity and awareness along the path of existencial character. The corpora of this work are novels written in the interwar period conflicted, whose plot highlights the struggle within and outside of the characters to survive that period and the consequent awareness gained in this way. The metaphorical journey experienced by the protagonists of Fontamara, Berardo Viola, and Berlin Alexanderplatz, Franz Biberkopf, leads a new political consciousness for the first protagonist, and a new social conscience, for the second. The path of formation oh the protagonist is constituted differently. The aim of this study is there fore to analyze how is the process of forming Berardo Viola and Franz Biberkopf, pointing identities and diferences between the two processes and finally pointing out how such novels can update the concept of Bildungsroman in literary history

Research on the Berard Auditory Integration Training method has shown improvement in the regulation of attention, activity and impulsivity of children whose auditory system have been re-trained. Anecdotal reports have found improvements in sleeping patterns, balance, allergies, eyesight, eating patterns, depression and other seemingly unrelated physiological states. During the Auditory Integration Training (AIT) procedure dynamic music, with a wide range of frequencies, is processed through a system of filters in the AIT device. The volume and tone of the music is constantly and randomly modulated. The researcher explored Berard AIT as a possible intervention for learners between the ages of six and twelve years, who experienced problems with sustained attention and who have difficulty in shifting their attention from task to task. The aim was to investigate if Berard AIT method would enable the learner to stay calm, relaxed yet alert, with focused attention and thus concentration with appropriate reflection before action. An experimental quantative study, with a pretest-posttest control group design, was conducted to investigate the effect that Berard Auditory Integration Training has on learners with attention problems. Checklists and different measurements were conducted before the training started and repeated three months after the training was completed, to monitor if any change in the way that the learners pay attention, occurred the case group of ten learners was compared with ten learners in a control group who did not initially receive the intervention. Although the results of the post-tests varied amongst the learners, most learners in the experimental group experienced a statistical significant increase in attention control and a reduction in behavioural problems by the third month following the listening sessions.

L'elaborato percorre le fasi necessarie alla redazione di un progetto di riqualificazione del grattacielo Marinella I a Milano Marittima. Per fare ciò la prima parte della tesi tratta dell'analisi storica dei grattacieli sorti a fine anni '50 sulla costa nord adriatica, dalle motivazioni che hanno promosso tale particolare tipologia architettonica sulla costa fino alla realizzazione dei progetti. La seconda parte verte invece sul caso studio, il grattacielo Marinella I, evidenziandone le peculiarità e le caratteristiche tecnico-architettoniche che lo contraddistinguono. Attraverso questo studio si è potuto proporre un progetto di riqualificazione che prestasse attenzione alle specificità architettoniche e allo stesso tempo alle reali esigenze dei suoi abitanti. Si è infine proposta una analisi economica sotto il profilo costo-benefici che mettesse in confronto le diverse azioni migliorative.

ABSTRACT: Eligibility reform in the VA and the resulting increased caseloads have brought about unacceptable wait times for new audiology appointments. Mandates to decrease wait times without increased resources have brought new demands on audiology clinics. One proposed solution is the addition of audiology technicians to VA audiology clinic practice. The first purpose of this study was to survey the attitudes of VA audiologists and service chiefs regarding the use of technicians. The second purpose was to ask the survey respondents to assign as generally appropriate or inappropriate, job duties which might be accomplished by an audiology technician. Following a pre-survey to pilot the questionnaire, the final survey was e-mailed to all members of a national e-mail group. Ninety-three acceptable responses were analyzed. The survey responses indicate that a large majority of the respondents hold positive attitudes concerning the use of technicians, believe technicians can accomplish some duties now done by audiologists and believe technicians can help reduce current appointment backlogs. The respondents assigned a number of clerical, assistive, minor hearing aid repair and other duties as appropriate for technicians and many testing, evaluation, programming, and perceived professional duties as inappropriate for technicians. There were several items which were not clearly assigned as either appropriate or inappropriate technician duties. Open-ended responses indicated that strong feelings, both positive and negative, exist within the audiology and service chief community. The survey results will be used to develop an audiology technician job description and to identify specific training needs for establishing audiology technician positions throughout the VA healthcare system.

This project is concerned with exploring the relationship between postconceptual dance and its state as object. As a practice-led research project it aims to do so both through the written thesis and through artistic practice, which is here presented as a series of video projects that extend representations of dance. Over five chapters I trace the permutation of the ‘object’ from choreographer to spectator, participant, editor, collector and ‘reframer’, arguing for the multiplicity of roles that choreographers, and by extension dancers, take on at the beginning of the 21st century. My interdisciplinary research draws from a variety of theoretical discourses including performance theory, visual cultures and critical theory, and is therefore both relevant to the field of dance studies and beyond the discipline. Given the practice-led nature of the project, my aim has been to expand choreographic performance practices and to increases the range of ‘objects’ that can be considered dance. Therefore, the project resides in the gaps and tensions between practice and theory, performance and documentation, language and dance, text and movement, choreography and objecthood. Throughout I argue that post-conceptual dance operates within an extended field in which dancers and choreographers are expanding the boundaries of the art form, making dance relevant to a broader artistic, cultural, political and social context.

Au lendemain de la seconde guerre mondiale, l’opinion publique américaine découvre avec effroi les conditions sanitaires des habitants de Dinetah, réserve Navajo. L’incompréhension règne entre les représentants de la médecine occidentale (missionnaires, docteurs du Public Health Service) et les malades qui font appel aux praticiens traditionnels. Autrefois en concurrence, médecine rituelle et scientifique coexistent aujourd’hui au sein des hôpitaux, les programmes de santé administrés par le Conseil Tribal témoignent de la collaboration entre les dépositaires du savoir rituel et du savoir scientifique. Quelles ont été les modalités de transmission de ces deux savoirs? La médecine Navajo, fondement de l’organisation sociale traditionnelle, s’est institutionnalisée et l’offre de soins, souvent instrumentalisée, continue d’illustrer la présence de forces antagonistes
Until World War Two, most of the physicians working in the Navajo reservation antagonized the traditional healers, the hataalis. In the 1950’s, missionary and public health-care providers gradually acknowledged the existence of their patients’ religious beliefs. With a growing number of Navajos attending medical school in the 1960’s and 1970’s, most of the patients’ fears were overcome but tradition was increasingly threatened by new emerging groups such as the Native American Church and incentives were needed to convince young Navajos to become hataalis. Tem sido através da arte do azulejo que mais se tem expressado a criatividade e o génio artístico português no plano das artes ornamentais, cujos artistas e artífices têm sabido tirar partido das características de flexibilidade, utilidade e durabilidade deste material, jogando sempre com os seus valores cromáticos e o efeito de luz, em articulação com os locais onde é aplicado. Utilizada de forma exuberante e sem par em qualquer país da Europa, a azulejaria, que proliferou durante mais de cinco séculos em Portugal, acabou por se transformar numa autêntica contribuição do nosso país para o património cultural e artístico mundial. Constituindo o conhecimento do nosso património artístico uma etapa fundamental para assegurar a sua preservação, o presente trabalho, tem como principal propósito estudar a Azulejaria da Colecção Berardo, portadora de um eminente interesse histórico, artístico e cultural. Promovendo o seu conhecimento, sistematizando-o e criando condições para a sua fruição e conservação, este projecto museológico, visa a criação de um Sistema de Inventário e Gestão da Colecção de Azulejos e a proposta de Museu Virtual. Associado ao avanço das novas tecnologias da informação e comunicação e no sentido de satisfazer as novas correntes da Museologia, que se inclinam cada vez mais sobre o papel do museu na sociedade actual, o Museu Virtual do Azulejo da Colecção Berardo apresenta-se como um facilitador da recepção informativa, pedagógica e estética dos objectos museológicos
Portuguese artistic creativity and genius in the field of the decorative arts hás been mainly expressed through the art of the azulejo (glazed ceramic tile). Artists and artifices have enefited from the flexibility, usefulness and durability of this material. There is always an interplay between its chromatic values and the effect of light, in conjunction with the sites where it is applied. Used exuberantly in a manner unmatched anywhere else in Europe, the proliferation of azulejo art in Portugal, which dates back more than five centuries, has become one of the country's authentic contributions to the world's cultural and artistic heritage. Knowledge of our artistic heritage is an essential stepping-stone to ensuring its preservation, and the main aim of this dissertation is to study the azulejos in the Berardo Collection, which are of significant historical, artistic and cultural interest. The purpose of this museological project is to create an Azulejo Inventory and Collection Management system and a Virtual Museum by promoting knowledge, systematising it and creating the right conditions for azulejos to be enjoyed and conserved. As a result of the advances in new information technologies, and in order to accompany the new trends in museology which increasingly lean towards the role of the museum in contemporary society, the Berardo Collection's Azulejo Virtual Museum sets out to provide information and education and to promote the aesthetic appreciation of the museum pieces

This thesis intends to highlight a concern that museums face nowadays regarding the lack of presence and participation of young people in their programs or exhibitions, by focusing on the age range from 15 to 25 years old and identifying the barriers of cultural participation. The present work also aims to develop a project for future implementation in Berardo Museum (Lisbon, Portugal), in which the main goal is to promote the engagement of young people with the museum. A comparison between Berardo Museum (Lisbon, Portugal) and Stedelijk Museum (Amsterdam, Netherlands) is performed in order to understand the effect of the variables hereby analysed on the performance of these museums. Their performance is measured through comparison of young visitors and participants of the programs available in each museum. A deep insight on the ‘BLIKOPENERS’ project is provided as this project represents a role model regarding museum initiatives that raise the interest and participation of young people in museums. The project’s characteristics, as well as the challenges their members faced, are also presented in this work. Finally, a new project proposal is presented to be considered and implemented in Berardo Museum, or other art institutions that would be suitable. This project, as a future development, aims to attract young people to these institutions. To do so, the museum/institution must compromise with these young people, and these young people have to compromise with the museum/institution, in order to assure the success and prosperity of this project

Art in general way, plays an extremely important role in society, in its culture and its wisdom. On the other hand, modernism had and still has a great influence in art, in generality, in the work of art, in the history of art, and in history and culture. The art exhibition in museums, specific to modern art, was once a failing, scarce or inexistent point in Portugal. In order to get this problem corrected, a museum was created, a museum which through a vast collection of modern and contemporary works of art would be able to complete this gap - the Berardo Museum. However, there are two other museums - the Chiado Museum and the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, which work in the same fields of art as the Berardo Museum. Working together, these three museums form a union capable of enriching not only modern art, through its visualization and study, but also society, the country, and the world, offering through its collections and exhibitions a wider spectrum of works of art and information on the history of modern art, inside and outside the country. The museum is seen as a place of knowledge and learning, of enrichment. The museum is the entity that offers culture, history, and openness to all age groups and social situations. Thus, through the work done by these museums, in their educational services and in what they offer to the public visitation, these museums are seen as places of personal and cultural development. Networking makes the offer more interesting, more comprehensive, wider, causes greater involvement, and thus being, it becomes capable of making the development even greater. Esta obra tem por objetivo interpretar o conceito, a função, a evolução, o propósito e as características dos museus, em particular abordando a questão do percurso e a relação narrativa como fios condutores da obra museológica. Deste modo, conduz-se a um projeto que expressa desde a sua génese a relação entre narrativa e percurso no seu espaço. Consequentemente a peça arquitetónica, reconhece e tenta responder às importantes questões das problemáticas levantadas por autores e especialistas do universo museológico. Este documento escrito consiste na íntegra numa memória descritiva e justificativa do projeto do museu para a Coleção Berardo, sobre o qual faz uma abordagem sobre a contextualização geográfica, conceito, articulação do programa e tecnologias e construção.
The present dissertation proposes an architecture project for a museum unit on Madeira Island, to host the modern and contemporary art collection of the portuguese collector Jose Berardo. This work aims to interpret the concept, the function, the evolution, the purpose and the museums characteristic, approaching particularly the trajectory question and the narrative relation as the museology work conducting wires. Therefore we are leaded to a project that expresses from its genesis the relation between narrative and space path. Consequently the architectonic play recognizes and tries to answer the important questions of the problems raised by authors and specialists of the museology universe. This written document consists fully in a descriptive and justificatory memory of the museum project of Berardo Colletion, in which is made an approach about geographic contextualization, concept, articulation of the program and technologies and construction.

Die AGS het tot vier jaar gelede as vier ras gesegregeerde kerke gefunksioneer. Elke kerk se lidmate het uit ras- eie lidmate bestaan. Berading was binne kultuur-eie konteks gedoe n. Die beradingsopleiding van die pastoralekorps was ook op kultuur-eie beginsels gebaseer. Na die verenigingsproses van hierdie vier kerklike afdelings het die k u l t u u r -eie karakter van sommige gemeentes verander na multikulturele gemeentes. Dit het nie net nuwe uitdagings gebring nie, maar ook nuwe spanning ten opsigte van kruiskulturele beraad. Die pastor bevind homself in die posisie dat daar nou oor kultuurgrense heen, aan kultureel minder bekendes berading verskaf moet word. Bestaande beradingsmodelle kan nie summier op die unieke Suid- Afrikaanse konteks van toepassing gemaak word nie. Die kulturele diversiteit van Suid -Afrika lê nie net in die verskillende volkere nie, maar ook binne die realiteit dat ons met onder andere `n Westerse wêreldbesko uing en ‘n tradisionele Afrika wêreldbeskouing te make het. This master thesis explores the specificities of multimedia and new media art, and the curatorial practice’s conditions. It synthesizes the several elements of multimedia art and develops chronologically the emergence and evolution of the various components, internationally and in Portugal. It focuses on the historical influences that mark the present, passing through the relationship between the new media art and the art museums. The research also centers on the specific problems of the medium with implications for its incorporation, presentation and preservation. It also tries to include the side of the contents, the artists and their references to clarify this artistic practice. For this study a more practical approach was taken, with the analysis of a set of case studies, highlighting the extracurricular internship in curatorial assistance and production of the Second Nature exhibition, at the Museum of Art, Architecture and Technology (MAAT), which complemented the research. This study focuses on the artists of new media, Portuguese and international, as well as curators, presenting what Portuguese museums have being done in the field of curatorial practice and in the investment of new technologies. This dissertation also proposes to understand how the problems of multimedia art diverge from the previous artistic practice, contributing to the study and debate of the medium, especially in the national scene

Alhoewel adolessensie 'n bepaalde konflikkarakter het, kan dit nie kategories as 'n storm-en-drang probleemstadium tipeer word nie. Adolessensie is 'n positiewe stadium wat gekenmerk word deur groei en nuwe uitdagings. Adolessensie word gekenmerk deur ingrypende veranderinge met betrekking tot die terreine van die fisiologies-somatiese, kogni ti ewe, emosionele, identiteit, sosiale, morele en religieuse. 'n Multidimensionele perspektief is dus n vereiste met die oog op n verstaan en definiering van adolessensie. Om hierdie rede kan adolessensie vanuit 'n verskeidenheid van teoriee beskryf word. Hierdie biologiese, psigoanali tiese, psigososiale, antropologiese en ekologies-kontekstuele teoriee gee egter geen aandag aan 'n teologiese orientasie nie. Verder bied nie een van hierdie teoriee 'n perspektief wat die ontwikkelingsterreine tot 'n eenheid integreer nie. Die gevolg is dat daar nie 'n kernstruktuur is wat die verskillende ontwikkelingsveranderinge en ontwikkelingstake kan orden en 'n teologiese betekenis (semantiek) daaraan kan toeken nie. Binne die raamwerk van 'n prakties-teologiese orientasie word 'n Christelike spiritualiteit as teologiese perspektief op adolessensie beskou. Spiritualiteit is die mens se dinamiese respons op die transendente werklikheid. Vanuit 'n Bybelse antropologie word die mens beskou as 'n relasionele wese wat in die teenwoordigheid van God leef (die coram Deo beginsel). Deur spiritualiteit word adolessensie 'reframe' en as transendentteologiese roepingsterrein beskou. Die adolessent word geroep om die Skriftuurlik-evangeliese beginsels te internaliseer met betrekking tot eie ontwikkelingsprosesse. Die pastorale implikasie is dat die berader die proses waardeur 'n integrasie plaasvind tussen adolessente se spiri tualiteit en hul ontwikkelingsprosesse en probleemhantering, moet fasiliteer. Hierdie dinamika kan optimaal realiseer indien die berader binne die raamwerk van 'n relasie (as ontmoetingsgebeure) orienteer aan 'n epistemologie van deelname. In die beraadproses moet adolessente as verantwoordelike wesens beskou word wat betekenis aan eie ontwikkeling en probleme toeken. Verder moet pastorale beraad ook interdissipliner, ontwikkelingstoepaslik en ekosistemies gerig wees.
Adolescence is the developmental and tccansitional stage between childhood and adulthood. Although adolescence is marked by conflict, it should not be categorised as a problem period. It is a positive stage characterised by growth and challenging new processes. Adolescence is characterised by radical changes in the physiologicalsomatic, cognitive, emotional, identity, social, moral and religious spheres. A multidimensional perspective is therefore a prerequisite for understanding and defining adolescence. Adolescence can thus be described in terms of a wide range of theories. These biological, psychoanalytical, psychosocial, anthropological and ecological-contextual theories devote no attention to a theological orientation. None of the theories can offer an integrating and unifying perspective in regard to the developmental areas. The result is a lack of a centre of structure that has an ordering and theological meaning-qi ving (semantic) function with reference to the variety of developmental changes and tasks. Within the framework of a practical-theological orientation, a Christian spirituality is considered as theological perspective on adolescence. Spirituality is a person's dynamic response to the transcendent reality. A Biblical anthropology compels us to view human beings as relational beings who live in the presence of God (the coram Deo principle). Every aspect of a person's life (the adolescent's developmental changes included!) is implicated in this relationship with God. Spirituality as centre of semantic structure functions as a spiritual lens. It presents us with a particular focus on the development of the adolescent, and it integrates and unifies the developmental processes. By means of spirituality, adolescence is reframed and viewed as a transcendenttheological vocation. The adolescent is called to internalise the Biblicalevangelical principles with reference to his/her developmental processes. The pastoral implication is that the counsellor should facilitate the process through which adolescents integrate their spirituality with their development and management of problems. This dynamics can best be achieved within the framework of a relationship (personal encounter) in which the counsellor functions on the basis of an epistemology of participation. In the counselling process adolescents must be seen as responsible beings who can contribute meaning to their development and problems. Pastoral counselling should also be an interdisciplinary, developmentally appropriate and ecosystemic process.

The counseling' of Jay E Adams must be seen against the background of the rise of the Pastoral Care Movement and, together with it, the propagating of the eductive method of counseling which lays excessive emphasis on the needs of man and the inner potential of man to arrive at a solution of his own problems. Against a humanistic form of counseling, Adams stresses in particular the Scriptures as the counselor's textbook, and the role of sin in human suffering. His counseling has been judged and criticised in various circles, frequently without adequate substantiation or a satisfactory alternative. This dissertation is aimed at researching Adams' counseling thoroughly so that an alternative can be offered from a pentecostal perspective. First a comprehensive exposition was given of the core elements of Adams' counseling, that served as a foundation to discuss the positive and negative criticism of his work. The paradigms underpinning pentecostal thinking in general was also discussed, as the argument in this study was based on a pentecostal framework. Among other things the nature of man, the love and mercy of God, sin and the role of evil were examined. The author feels that no one specific model or technique of counseling can be promoted. Every person and every situation is unique. Therefore every counseling session will also be unique. For this reason it was decided to give guidelines rather than develop a model. Pentecostal counseling was approached from the perspective of systems-thinking and communicative action theory but was also directed by basic assumptions, among other things, that Jesus Christ is the centre of every counseling session (through the operation of the Holy Spirit) and that the congregation as a whole is the object of counseling. Finally the conclusion was reached that pentecostal counseling could definitely find common ground with the counseling of Jay E Adams, with certain adjustments based on pentecostal paradigms.

En la actualidad, museos y galerías de todo el mundo realizan exposiciones de un arte que tiene sus orígenes en el espacio urbano. El presente estudio muestra las estrategias posibles que tanto los artistas como las instituciones museológicas y comisarios han adoptado para mostrar el arte urbano en el espacio expositivo. Los objetivos son analizar a través de seis exposiciones llevadas a cabo en Europa, en el transcurso del siglo XXI, las características conceptuales, técnicas y formales para realizar una exposición de arte urbano, buscando la interconexión existente entre el lenguaje artístico propio de este arte y el lenguaje expositivo. Para ello se muestra un contexto histórico en el que se abordan los principales casos desarrollados a lo largo de la historia, orientado a crear una base a un movimiento que actualmente está en pleno auge. Se analiza también el papel adyacente del graffiti con el arte urbano, encontrando tanto grandes similitudes como diferencias, que han coexistido a lo largo de los años complementándose unas con otras, sea entre los artistas, en el espacio urbano y en el espacio expositivo. Bajo la emergencia de muestras de arte urbano en la actualidad, este estudio selecciona seis exposiciones que tuvieron lugar en instituciones europeas desde el 2008. La variedad entre ellas permite realizar un análisis rico en posibilidades, como en Street Art en la Tate Modern, una institución de gran relevancia a nivel internacional y con artistas referentes dentro del movimiento; en Banksy versus Bristol Museum, en la que el mediático y anónimo Banksy crea una muestra heterogénea; con Os Gêmeos en el Museu Berardo en Lisboa se presenta una exposición de uno de los grandes referentes del arte urbano en el mundo, o el Palais de Tokyo que presenta unos espacios propicios para la muestra de este tipo de arte bajo una serie de eventos desarrollados en una amplia línea temporal con una gran variedad de artistas; Lisboa, ciudad distinguida por su implicación con el arte urbano, presenta dos muestras importantes, una en la Fundação EDP-Museu da Electricidade con la figura emergente de Alexandre Farto, y otra en el MUDE con el significativo André Saraiva. Bajo la premisa de que todos estos artistas han desenvuelto o desenvuelven su trabajo en la calle, se estudia su relación con el lenguaje adaptado para el espacio expositivo. El objetivo desarrollado es la búsqueda de una esencia que permita sentir y apreciar el arte urbano en todos sus contenidos, sea formal, técnica o conceptualmente, reflexionando acerca de la naturaleza del mismo para así realizar la complicada descontextualización de presentar un arte en un espacio ajeno a sus raíces. Tras el análisis de las exposiciones, se observan varias formas de abordar la inclusión en el museo, categorizándolas en exposiciones individuales, colectivas, históricas y temáticas, creando cuatro líneas curatoriales. Desde la perspectiva de las estrategias creativas analizadas en las exposiciones, se observan diferentes recursos tanto por parte de los artistas como de las instituciones para introducir el arte urbano en el contexto museológico, encontrando aspectos que coexisten dentro y fuera del espacio expositivo. Además, el estudio examina cómo a lo largo de la historia hubo un intento de aproximación e inclusión del arte popular al espacio expositivo, lo cual desenvolvió un camino para la institución museológica actual, que debe defender un servicio y un compromiso con la sociedad bajo la actual demanda de un público interesado en el arte urbano

Die geskiedenis van die Ned. Geref. Kerk (NGK) draai sedert 1960 om twee belangrike hoofmomente - die publikasie van twee beleid-stukke: Ras, Volk en Nasie (RVN) 1974 en Kerk en Samelewing (KES) 1986. Na afloop van die historiese Cottesloe-beraad in 1960 is die NGK met kritieke vrae rondom die rassekwessie gekonfronteer. Vir 14 jaar het die kerk via verskillende sinodes met hierdie vraagstuk geworstel voordat 'n antwoord in 1974 gereed was: Ras, Volk en Nasie en Volkereverhoudinge in die lig van die Skrif. Binne sowel as buite Suid-Afrika het die kerk hom egter vasgeloop teen geweldige kritiek op hierdie standpunt. Dit was teen 1979 duidelik dat die kerk hom in 'n doodloopstraat bevind het. Dit was egter nie alleen die kritiek op sy beleid wat die kerk weer laat dink het nie. Vanaf 1980 tot 1982 het vier belangrike gebeurtnisse plaasgevind wat soos impulse op die kerk ingewerk het. Dit was die Hervormingsdaggetuienis, die Ope Brief, die Vergadering van die Wêreldbond van Gereformeerde Kerke in Ottawa en die aanvaarding van 'n Belhar-belydenis deur die Ned. Geref. Sendingkerk. Hierdie gebeure het met woord en daad gehelp dat die kerk in 1982 ‘n historiese besluit kon neem, naamlik om RVN te hersien. Na vier jaar van hernude Skrifstudie en diskussie het 'n konsepverslag in 1986 voor die Algemene Sinode gedien, waar dit aanvaar is onder die titel: Kerk en Samelewing - 'n Getuienis van die Ned. Geref. Kerk. Oop kerkdeure, oop lidmaatskap, en die veroordeling van apartheid as sonde het duidelik getoon dat die kerk 'n totaal nuwe koers ingeslaan het - met tragiese gevolge! Die beroering wat binne die kerk losgebars het, het binne maande in omvang gegroei, en op 27 Junie 1987 het 'n groep lidmate van die kerk weggebreek om die Afrikaanse Protestantse Kerk te stig. Hierdie gebeure en die stigting van die Ned. Geref. Bond het die NGK by die eerste kruispad op sy nuut ingeslane weg gebring!

The focus of this study is on pastoral counselling and mentorship in the South African context and how it can contribute to the improvement of parent-child relationships. The Practical Theological model of Osmer is used as a framework in which the study is conducted. It consists of the Descriptive-empirical, Interpretative, Normative and Pragmatic tasks (which, for the purpose of the study, are called methods of approximation). In the first chapter the emphasis is on the way in which the study will be conducted with the aim of obtaining positive outcomes. This is also addressed in Chapter 2 by means of empiric research. Interviews are conducted with 24 participants that consist of parents and children. The aim of this is to determine how many problems really occur within families in a South African context. Many problems in this regard have come to light. The third chapter is mainly dedicated to a literature study that discusses the effect of positive and negative outcomes through the application of Biblical principles and mentorship within families. The effect of negative or positive parenthood is discussed as well as the effect it has on the child in his/her development process. Parents can learn many lessons from this chapter so that their children won’t have to grow up with emotional anguish. In the fourth chapter the theological aspects are discussed and proof is given for the value of these aspects as addressed by theological experts. Moral values, pastoral models, the value of the Holy Spirit and how God is portrayed are discussed here. These principles also contribute to happier families. In the fifth chapter attempts are made to find summarising solutions for this study’s initial problem statement, research question and central theoretical argument. Various results and conclusions can be made to find answers to the different key terms. Problem identification and problem solving techniques are discussed. A typical counselling session is held on the basis of a pastoral phase model in order to provide clarity to the solution of the abovementioned problems.

Resumen
Die voorbestaan van die mensdom is nou verweef met die toestand waarin die omgewing verkeer. Menslike aktiwiteite het 'n groot impak op die omgewing, terwyl die omgewing weer die mens se lewensgehalte bepaal. Hierdie studie is dan daarop gemik om deur omgewingsopvoeding, die mens te lei tot omgewingsgesonde gedrag met die oog op volhoubare ontwikkeling. Ten einde hierin te slaag, word die verskillende omgewingsprobleme en die redes daarvoor eers uitgeklaar. Daarna word die faktore wat tot omgewingsagteruitgang kan lei, ondersoek. Hieruit blyk duidelik Mankind's survival is interwoven with the state of the environment. Human activities have a great impact on the environment, while the environment, again, determines the quality of man's life. This study aims to aid mankind, through environmental education, to environmentally sound behaviour with an eye on sustainable development. To attain this, the different environmental problems and their causes, are sorted out first. Then the factors that can lead to environmental degradation are investigated. From this it is quite clear that in the future, the world and the RSA will be more densely populated, become more polluted, be ecologically less stable and will therefore be more sensitive to natural disasters. Because environmental education can make a positive contribution to this, a short historical survey of environmental education is given. The role and contribution of some international organisations is investigated. Developments in the RSA are surveyed and the influence of the Earth Summit on environmental education in the RSA is analysed. At birth, mankind is thrown into a world from where he can escape only at death. In this world in which he has to stay, he must give meaning to his existence, while also trying to improve the environment to guarantee the survival of coming generations. Bearing in mind the educational and environmental relationship between any human being and his environment, the essential characteristics of environmental education are exposed in order to set possible conditions for authentic environmental education. Special emphasis is placed on environmental behaviour aimed at sustainablility. All this culminates in environmentally sound behaviour that acts as the overall aim for environmental education. Because man's environmental ethic determines his behaviour towards the environment, three different approaches to environmental ethics are distinguished. Emphasis is placed on the necessity for environmental literacy. In order to try to understand man's behaviour towards the environment, three styles of environmental behaviour are analysed. For further clarification of environmental behaviour, two scientific earth genesis hipotheses are also described. In conclusion, this study leads to certain principles that can lead to the development of environmentally sound behaviour aimed at the sustainable survival of mankind.
