These books can be sold and the proceeds can be used to buy another book the student currently needs. These website will not only serve students but can also serve the entire population or anybody who wants to buy second hand books or wants to empty their book shelves and make financial gain from it. These books can just be simply be uploaded to the website and another student or person can have access to buy the book by just visiting the website. Students also have lesser incomes compared to the rest of the working population. Hence any reasonable resource for getting income is always welcomed. All these will be achieved by creating a user friendly complete online shopping system for buying and selling secondhand books

This thesis focuses on the work of policing, regulating and monitoring of New Zealand public censorship classifications. It follows the processes and agents involved in the day-to-day practices of the enforcement of the classifications given to objects by the Office of Film and Literature Classification. Responsibility for the enforcement of the classification decisions of the Office is delegated to private agents and agencies involved in supplying audiences with classified media products - cinemas, video stores, bookstores and libraries. The thesis also documents enforcement undertaken directly by public agents of the Censorship Compliance Unit. In this case enforcement is concerned with unclassified publications circulating on the Internet. The thesis argues that the networks of agents assembled for the practices of enforcement evolve as the forms of media evolve or change. The thesis focuses on the modes of interaction between agents, media and publics enacted in the different sites of the cinema, the bookstore, the video store, the library and the Internet. It documents the work of enforcement involved in the purchase of images for a fixed period of time in the fixed site of the cinema; the purchase of books from the fixed site of the bookstore; the hire of video films and video games from the fixed site of the video store; and the borrowing of books and videos from the fixed site of the public library. It contrasts the work of enforcement in these different sites with the development of new work practices involved in the interactive, fluid and seemingly intangible yet still policed site of the Internet. It documents how the responsibilities for, and the practices of, enforcement shift between public sites of enforcement to the increasingly difficult public monitoring of the private consumption of images distributed through the media of the Internet. It pays attention to how different methods and strategies of enforcement have been developed in response to both the classification and consumption of the expanding variety of mobile media and the proliferation and consumption of images in the unclassified and fluid world of the Internet.

The Thesis deals with a proposal for a new mixed-used building in the city of Moravske Budejovice in the cadastral area of Moravske Budejovice. The building is a three-floored house without a cellar. The roof of the house is completely flattened. On the first floor, there are commercial rooms, hairdresser´s and a bookshop. Apartments are on the second and third floor. The construction will be built of clay blocks which are 300 mm wide. The insulation of the building is formed by thermal insulation composite system. The ceiling is created by reinforced concrete slabs 250 mm wide. Parts of the documentation are water-supply, electricity, pipeline and waste water pipe. The description of pavement and driveway is included. The Thesis is written as a project to build the construction.

This research aims to rescue Leonardo da Vinci Bookshop’s history based in Rio de Janeiro, which had been in the care of the same family for more than sixty years and was sold at the beginning of 2016. It was acknowledged nationally for its high-quality imported books catalog from all over the world and for the high-standard bookseller’s performance of the founder and her staff, the Da Vinci Bookshop – as well as other previous bookshops that proved to be part of the city’s memory. Its relationship with the urban everyday life enabled not only the production and the development of the humanistic knowledge in the old Republic capital, but also promoted ways of sociability of several scholars living in Rio de Janeiro during the second half of the 20th century. The purpose of this study is to reflect about the symbolic dimension of certain kinds of commercial activities, focusing on the bookseller diversity in the cultural life of the cities. Besides being a purchase point, nowadays the few remaining bookshops are used as leisure centers and a place designed mainly for literary activities and they make part of the powerful international companies
Esta pesquisa intenta resgatar a trajetória da Livraria Leonardo da Vinci, sediada na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, que esteve por mais de sessenta anos sob os cuidados da mesma família e foi vendida no início de 2016. Reconhecida nacionalmente pela qualidade do catálogo de obras importadas de diversas partes do mundo e pelo exercício do ofício livreiro pela fundadora e por seus funcionários, a Da Vinci – bem como outras livrarias antes dela – mostrou ser parte integrante da memória da cidade. Sua relação com o cotidiano urbano permitiu não só a produção e o fomento do conhecimento humanístico na antiga capital da República como ensejou formas de sociabilidade de uma série de intelectuais residentes no Rio durante a segunda metade do século XX. Com este estudo pretende-se refletir sobre a dimensão simbólica presente em determinados tipos de atividades comerciais, dando destaque à diversidade livreira na vida cultural das cidades. Além de ponto de venda, hoje as poucas livrarias remanescentes são moduladas como espaços de lazer e fruição de atividades do campo literário e fazem parte de grandes redes ou conglomerados internacionais.

Theme of this master's thesis is a new library building design including traffic and technical infrastructure. Content of the building integrates library, education centre, bookshop and coffee house. Main tasks of the institution are cultural, informational and educational activities. Due to its position, library building should create functional centre of social life and provide opportunities for gathering of inhabitants. Library is designed as detached building with four levels above, and one level under the ground. Supporting structure is created by reinforced concrete frames. Ventilated facade is insulated with mineral wool and paneled with cement-fiber boards. Object is covered with single-skin roof.

Longtemps délaissée comme source primaire des études historiques en Espagne, la presse est devenue, depuis les travaux pionniers d'Alberto Gil Novales, une source incontournable pour nombre de chercheurs. A côté des rubriques consacrées aux seules informations et des articles de fond, qui intéressent essentiellement l'histoire événementielle et celle des mentalités, les diverses annonces qu'accueillent généralement les périodiques permettent des études socio-économiques particulièrement utiles en ce qui concerne le XVIII° siècle. María José Seoane a déjà exploité ce genre de sources pour la période 1808-1819 à partir de la Gaceta de Madrid et du Diario de Madrid. Pour notre part, nous attachant à la période qui couvre le règne de Charles IV (1788-1808) et utilisant les annonces de librairie publiées dans l'ensemble des périodiques madrilènes de cette période, nous entendons ne pas nous contenter dans notre thèse de produire les listes des ouvrages annoncés mais, à partir de celles-ci, faire le bilan de la production imprimée pendant la seconde moitié du XVIII° siècle, étudier les réseaux de diffusion de ces ouvrages ainsi que les stratégies mises en place par les auteurs et les éditeurs avant de constater les succès et échecs de leurs entreprises. Nous pensons apporter ainsi une contribution utile à l'étude du livre et de la lecture et permettre ainsi de mieux appréhender ce qui fut le premier vecteur de diffusion des Lumières en Espagne
Long neglected as a primary source of historical studies in Spain, the Press has become a valuable source for a lot of researchers since the pioneering work of A.G.N. Alongside sections solely devoted to information and feature stories, which are of particular interest to the history of events and mentalities, the numerous notices which make up the contents of periodicals allow for particularly useful socio-economic studies as regards the eighteenth century.Maria José Seoane already relied on this kind of sources from La Gaceta de Madrid and Diario de Madrid for the period spanning between 1808 and 1819. As far as we are concerned, focusing on the period covering Charles IV's reign (1788-1808) and using bookshop publications from all of Madrid 's periodicals of the time, we intend not to confine our thesis to the simple enumeration of the reading lists but, on the contrary, to evaluate the print production of the second half of the eighteenth century, at the light of those reading lists. We also intend to study the diffusion networks as well as the strategies that were developed by writers and editors alike before the successes or failures of their undertaking. We thus hope to make a valuable contribution to the study of books and book reading and therefore allow for a better understanding of what was the first vehicle for the dissemination of the ideas of The Enlightenment in Spain

The aim of the diploma thesis is to elaborate project documentation of a new-build mixed-use building in Moravske Budejovice, in the cadastral area of Moravske Budejovice. The mixed-use building comprises a partial cellar and three floors above the ground. In the cellar, technical facilities and storage space for the residental part of the building can be found. The ground floor and the part of the first floor are designed for commercial premises, a hairdresser's, a florist's, a bookshop and a café. Residental unit consisting of three flats is located on the first and second floor. the building is made from 300 mm thick ceramic construction blocks with the external thermal insulation system. Ceiling construction is made of 250 mm thick concrete monolithic panels. Furthermore, the documentation deals with potable water, electric power and gas couplers, sewerage system, rainwater sewer and paved surface for pedestrians and motor vehicles. The thesis is elaborated as documentation for the building execution.

Currently the diversity of marketing channels for goods and services.resulted from prevalence of online shopping. Consumers can rely on their own needs to choose the right shopping channel. This study is to understand the critical factors that consumers will choose to purchase books in the network. Twenty one factors were summarized by literature review. Then by questionnaires collected four hundred consumers' views, and through factors analysis converge twenty-one factors into six critical factors. These factors were named as meet the shopping needs of consumers, trading convenience, Impact of community comments , interactive fun, full search and trading security. In other words, consumers will choose to buy books on the internet is affected by the synergy of these six critical factors. Also using statistical tests found that consumers with a lifestyle of like to use ATM or ibon will prefer to buy books on the internet. Additionally, found that to purchase books in the network is less convenient and fun than to do in the bookstore. These research findings will help make marketing strategy to increase the volume of selling books in the network.

Since the 90's, another option of bookstores appeared in Taiwan, some advertised cultural salon, compound management, local community-based, independent bookstores have been established, such as around the Lines of Flight, National Taiwan University Bookstore Group, Chiayi Hongya Bookshop, Tamsui Youhe BOOK …… and so on. The independent bookstores have a variety of different styles based on characteristics of the owner, and not just to sell books just as the main force, but also with arts and cultural activities, lectures and creative programs in the community formed a new cultural trend, get a lot of attention. This group is characterized by the advantages of independent bookstores, most of the shop owners know too well to books in their bookstore, and personally took the direct exchange of the store reading experience with the customer. They have their own subjective standards of book selection, not superstition book ranking, the smell of bookstores completely reflect the owner's personal taste, not only underlining the owners' interest or the social, political orientation, but also thus gathered a group of like-minded customers. Even without the expensive decor and substantial discount, but they have a group of loyal customer base. Because they have a consensus that buying a book is not only a simple consumer behavior, but also a support for the ideal to enjoy a professional performance. However, both for the domestic research and texts of business models and more focus on forms of symbolic significance in the consumer, for the research of independent bookstores are not many bookstores these communities even more non-profit organizations set up is extremely rare. Therefore, this study is located in Yonghe City, Taipei County, the independent bookstore "Small Small Bookshop" as a case study, the main depth interviews, participant observation, supplemented by text analysis methods, interview Small Small Bookshop, the composition of the object is a member of loyal customers and are not familiar with the study of the Yonghe City community resident. Trying to portray through the perspective of different actors Small Small Bookshop with local, related to sensual experience, from the operators and participants experience, understand the arts and cultural space of Small Small Bookshop how to perception and experience, as well as its links with the community and emotional significance.

Independent bookstores in Taiwan today are striving to provide a beautiful environment in the publishing industry. Currently, there are more than one hundred independent bookstores, providing real experience space for knowledge sharing, cultural exchanges and interpersonal interactions, thereby creating a unique independent bookstore culture. Many attach great importance to connections with people, business partners, and the community. One scholar pointed out that“No independent bookstores should be independent”, and that the spirit of partnership needs re-examination. Based on the above, this research project selected one representative independent bookstore in Taiwan—Small Small Bookshop as a case study subject, and aimed to explore its connection with customers through examining its business network. The objectives were: 1) to investigate value perceptions from the perspective of both the Small Small Bookshop and its customers; 2) to identify the business network of the Small Small Bookshop; and, 3) to explore customer relationships based on the Small Small Bookshop’s business network. This case study involved a two-month internship and mainly applied participatory observations and in-depth interviews to collect the primary data. The results indicated that the business of the Small Small Bookshop, which mainly includes products, services and activities, is based on the ideas of the founder herself. By supporting and cooperating with various partners within and beyond the publishing industry, as well as sharing resources with its partners, Small Small Bookshop gradually strengthens the business idea through ten years’practices. The core customers interviewed shared a common recognition and expectation towards this bookstore, which further identifies and strengthens their own lifestyle and value. The business practice experience of the Small Small Bookshop showed that the customer relationships of independent bookstores can mainly be developed, maintained and enhanced by gaining the customers' recognition, cultivating community relations, creating long-term interactions and building emotional bonds.

The maturity and progress of network technology have brought various changes to the society. These include the way to run a business, the way to gain information, and the way to precede a transaction. As the hardware and network technology grows, a lot of people choose to purchase on the net. Among all these net business, Internet bookstores are the pioneers of e-business in Taiwan and United States as well. According to the survey of Techvantage magazine in 1999, books and computer software are the main items bought on the Internet for most consumer population on the net. Internet bookstores compete not only with tangible bookstores, but also within themselves. Hence, the first priority for most Internet bookstores is to build up consumer loyalty and beat others thereafter. Some important indexes, including the consumer expected service, consumer satisfaction, the relation between satisfaction and loyalty, etc, are of great value to all Internet bookstores. The conclusions of this study are as follows: 1. Service quality and Total satisfaction are positive related. 2. Individual product or service is positive related to Total satisfaction. 3. Expected service and Total satisfaction are positive related. 4. Total satisfaction and Attitude loyalty are positive related. 5. Attitude loyalty and Behavior loyalty are positive related. 6. Different demographic variables are indifferent with purchasing behavior. 7. Some demographic variables and Expected service have remarkable difference. 8. Some demographic variables and Perceived service performance have remarkable difference.

Os livreiros independentes e as suas livrarias fazem parte do tecido social, cultural e económico de Lisboa. Com o objetivo final de demonstrar a sua realidade no quotidiano da gestão de uma livraria independente, através de metodologia qualitativa por entrevista a livreiros independentes, é exposto nesta dissertação o estado do negócio das livrarias independentes em Lisboa, as dificuldades por que os livreiros independentes passam e as ferramentas utilizadas no métier para prosperar e mitigar as adversidades. Pois embora estas livrarias apresentem fatores distintivos como o ambiente, o catálogo “curado” e o atendimento personalizado por parte do livreiro, enfrentam muitas dificuldades no seu quotidiano, tais como a migração de vendas para lojas e livrarias de grandes players, que, pela sua dimensão e localização geralmente em grandes superfícies comerciais, têm um maior poder negocial de margem com as editoras, o que resulta numa discrepância de preços e descontos entre locais de venda; os hábitos de consumo dos portugueses, que passam precisamente pelas grandes superfícies; os fracos hábitos de leitura da população; uma Lei do Preço Fixo do Livro que os livreiros sentem que deveria ser mais protetora da profissão; o aumento do valor das rendas na cidade e as consequências (muitas ainda por apreender) da pandemia Covid-19.

With the ultimate goal of demonstrating their reality in the daily management of an independent bookshop, through a qualitative methodology by interviewing independent booksellers, this dissertation exposes the state of the business of independent bookshops in Lisbon, the difficulties that independent booksellers go through, and the tools used in the métier to prosper and mitigate adversities; through interviews conducted with independent booksellers. Because despite these bookshops showing distinctive traces such as the environment, a “curated” catalogue and personalized customer service by the bookseller, they face a lot of daily difficulties on their business, such as the migration of sales to stores and bookshops of major players, which, due to their size and location, usually in large commercial surfaces, have a greater margin and negotiating power with publishers, which results in a discrepancy in prices and discounts between sales locations; the consumption habits of Portuguese population, which occur mostly in large commercial surfaces; the poor reading habits of the population; a Fixed Book Price Act that booksellers feel should be more protective of their profession; the increase of rents’ value in the city and the consequences (many yet to be learned) of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The purpose of this study is to discover the factors that are important in college-age students’ choice of bookstores. Samples were drawn from three universities in Taipei. Demographic data and data relating to importance and satisfaction were used as independent variables to explore the relationship between bookshop choice and consumer satisfaction. A structured questionnaire was used to gather data on the respondents’ demography, bookshop choice, customer experience, and factors relating to importance and satisfaction. Four hundred seven valid questionnaires were collected and analyzed using statistical techniques such as factor analysis, chi-square and T-test analyses and ANOVA. Major findings are as follows: 1.The customers typically go to the bookshop alone, stay for a period of half an hour to one hour, spend an average of between 501 and 1000 New Taiwan Dollars, usually shop during the weekend, get most of their information about the bookshop as they pass by, and make the highest proportion of their purchases in the leisure/entertainment category. 2.Gender, year in school, time spent in the bookshop and sources of information concerning books have no correlation with choice of bookshop. Based on the findings, the author suggests that effective marketing strategies should be designed based on the most salient factors.

In order to implement life education should be able to select and edit multi-material elements of reading to guide the development of child affective and so that it can be to accept the emotional joy and began to establish the correct values. Picture books are not only the most common type of contact with, but also most suitable for preschool children with low levels of literacy to read. In this research, in addition to inquiring text books for each picture book of Taosheng life education series, as well as analysis and research picture books for preschool children’s to read. Comparing with ten basic competence of the 1st-9th grade, 12 indicators of preschool life education would indeed be suitable for preschool teachers to use and become the materials of life education for preschool teachers in the classroom in the future. Finally, put forward some recommendations for school teachers, parents, creators, publishers and researchers according to the analysis of this research was to explore. Findings are listed as follows: 1.These topics that Taosheng selected series of life education for children picture books are plentiful, life education in the three core concepts: the life and death care, ethical care, spiritual care, are included. 2.The Taosheng selected series of life education for children picture books are in compliance with ten basic competence of the 1st-9th grade and 12 indicators of preschool life education. 3."Spiritual care" is at the heart of the majority of the Taosheng selected series of life education for children picture books. 4.This research Taosheng selected series of life education for children picture books is nondisclosures topics worthy of follow-up researchers, creators, publishers reference to study.

Abstract Incorporating picture story books into children's fine art teaching can increase children's concentration and sense of beauty. The content of the picture story books can be combined with artistic creation by helping the children learn to discover, think and appreciate the works of the artists through interactive discussions on the books, and thus stimulating their artistic creativity. The results of relevant researches have shown that the picture story books can increase the interest in visual arts learning and make arts learning easier. This study, based on practical teaching, is to evaluate the attractiveness of and the students’ attitudes towards picture story books in teaching through literature review of relevant theories and deep interviews with the students between 7-year-old (the 1st grade in the elementary school) and 9-year-old (the 3rd grade), those in the schematic stage. Miryoku Engineering, the evaluation grid method, was used in this study to do the evaluation. Finally the learning effects of the picture story books in teaching will be discussed. After applying picture story books in teaching, the findings of this study are as follows: 1. The performance of the students between 7-9 years old: All of the students like the techniques of expression in paper cutting. The students in the 1st and 2nd grades can freely express their feelings. Those in the 3rd grade have creative thinking, strong motives in creation and active imagination. They pay attention to the performance of skills. 2. The performances of male and female students: The students tend to draw people of the same gender as themselves. Both of them like to draw what they are most interested in and impressed with. The boys, with stronger self-assertion, like drawing energetic objects such as battling, traffic vehicles and exercise. The girls, on the other hand, like drawing what is lovely like people, flowers and dolls, and like decorating and constructive contents. 3. Influences on creativity: The essential factors of creativity-fluency, sensitivity, flexibility, originality, precision and redefinition-are expressed during the process of the students’ creation. The teaching helps the students to construct the image thinking style, performance in color and build the habit of independent thinking 4. The students perform well and improve themselves in style creativity, image skills and learning attitudes. The teaching makes Arts life. The application of picture story books in teaching can stimulate the students’ associative thinking and creativity, improve their learning attitudes and expressive abilities. The learning effects are significant and it is promising to develop new courses in the future based on the teaching

The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of picture book teaching upon the self-concept and life-attitude of students in elementary schools by means of a series of well-designed courses on the subject of life education. Quasi-experimental research is implemented in this study. The samples are from 3rd graders of two classes in an elementary school in Banqiao District, New Taipei City. One class, as the experimental group, had undergone 12-class period-experimental teaching, while the other, the control group, experienced normal teaching. The Students’ Self-Concept and Life-Attitude Scale are adopted as the measurement tool. The pre- and post-tests were conducted respectively one week before and after the experimental teaching, in order to examine the differences between the experimental and control groups in terms of the impact of the picture book teaching upon the self-concept and life-attitude of the students in elementary schools focusing on the subject of life education. Quantitative and qualitative approaches are adopted to analyze the data collected. Quantitative analysis software used incorporated one-way ANCOVA, which was conducted to testify the hypothesis of this study. In addition, in terms of the qualitative analysis, the worksheets as well as the unit and general feedback sheets were further used to elucidate the reaction the students experienced regarding the experimental teaching for the purpose of providing a broader vision in relation to the impact of picture book teaching on the subject of life education upon the self-concept and life-attitude of students in elementary schools. The research results and findings were as follows: 1.The picture book teaching on the subject of life education has a significant impact upon 3rd graders “self-concept scale“ and “physical self subscale” . 2.The picture book teaching on the subject of life education has a significant impact upon 3rd graders “life attitude scale,“ ”emotional management subscale,” and “death attitude subscale.” 3.The impact of picture book teaching on the subject of life education upon the self-concept didn’t have dominant difference in relation to the students’ gender or birth order. 4.The impact of picture book teaching on the subject of life education upon the life-attitude didn’t have dominant difference in relation to the students’ gender. But there are significant differences in life attitudes between different birth orders. The only child significantly showed higher scores on life attitude scale than the scores of first-borns and others. 5.The picture book teaching on the subject of life education was appreciated by most school students, and it lets the students know more about the differences between themselves and others, and then know how to respect and care for others.

This study employs single-subject research with multiple-probe across behavior design.The main purpose is exploring the effects of an intervention integrating social story with picture books on social skills of an elementary school student with hearing disability. The student is a fifth grader with hearing disability who had received a special education placement in a regular classroom. The eleven-week teaching experiment consisted of 20 data points, including baseline, intervention and maintenance stages.The independent variable of this study is an intervention integrating social story with picture books. The dependent variable is the conditions on three target behaviors, including saying hellion in an appropriate way, talking politely with others,and asking for joining the games.The datas were analyzed mainly by visual analysis and interviews,and were included by the times of behaviors and interview datas. The research findings are as follows: 1. The effects of an intervention integrating social story with picture books on general social skills of an elementary school student with hearing disability shows immediate effects. 2. The effects of an intervention integrating social story with picture books on general social skills of an elementary school student with hearing disability shows maintain effects. 3. The effects of an intervention integrating social story with picture books on individual social skills of an elementary school student with hearing disability shows immediate effects. 4. The effects of an intervention integrating social story with picture books on individual social skills of an elementary school student with hearing disability shows maitain effects. 5.
