There are reports of forests fire every year in many parts of the world. Prescribed burning is a tool used in few species during specific weather conditions to achieve the desired goals. Literature have been summarised with an objective to prepare introductory note on role of prescribed burning in management of forest resources. The prescribed burning has been used to reduce fire incidences in dry seasons in various parts of world. Burning techniques, rotation, execution and assessment are vital components of effective controlled burning. There is need of opening independent organizations in m

As horrible as the punishment by burning someone alive certainly proves to be, it is a modern misconception, as Michael D. By contrast, burning heretics and others was rather the exception, as all available data confirm. Whether there were actually heretics, in an organized fashion, as the older school of thought claimed, or whether they mostly existed in the heads of the learned elite during the high and late Middle Ages, as the more recent cohort of scholars suggests, d

This thesis is the first sustained analysis of the relationship between Elizabethan theatre and the judicial practice of burning at the stake. Focusing on a five-year window of theatrical output (1587-1592), it argues that polemical literary presentations of burning are the key to understanding the stage's negotiation of this most particular form of judicial violence. Unlike other forms of penal violence, burning at the stake was not staged, and only fourteen incidences of the punishment are recorded in Elizabethan England. Its strong literary presence in Protestant historiography is therefore

Capital punishment can be understood as simultaneously an exercise of actual power – the ending of a human life – and an exertion of symbolic, or ritual, power.1 In this combination of symbolic transformation with real physical change, executions are unusual rituals. But the use of extreme violence against the human body certainly does have ritual characteristics, in that it has established rules (which may, of course, be deliberately challenged or broken) and in that these rules are used to make the drastic transformation in the status of the executed party seem legitimate and proper, to reas
