Resumen
Callistemon (Myrtaceae) is a plant genus native to Australia with many cultivars grown as ornamentals worldwide. Several orange larvae of an undescribed gall midge (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae) were found feeding within vegetative buds of Callistemon viminalis plants grown in a production greenhouse in Victoria, Australia. Infested buds stopped their development and, following the departure of larvae, turned necrotic. Pupation took place in the soil. Young potted plants were infested and severely retarded in their overall growth. The new species is described and named Dasineura callistemoni Kolesik

Callistemons (Callistemon citrinus (Curtis) Skeels), evergreen plants of the family Myrtaceae, are commonly grown in Mediterranean gardens for their red bottlebrush-like flowers. During November of 2006, 1-year-old potted plants of callistemon showed leaf spots and blight in commercial nurseries in Valencia, Spain. Symptoms consisted initially of minute brown spots on the leaves, developing into black-gray blotches that finally coalesced. Diseased plants also showed stem lesions and blight of young shoots. Approximately 30% of the plants were affected. A Cylindrocladium sp. was isolated consis

We examined the extent and speed of germination from two intensely serotinous myrtaceous species, Callistemon glaucus and Calothamnus quadrifidus, for seed held in capsules for up to 9 years. The multistaminate fascicles of Melaleuca develop from stamen primordia initiated on antepetalous pre-staminal bulges (PSBs); the resultant bundles of stamens become separated by hypanthial expansion as the flower bud enlarges. In most species of Callistemon examined the stamen primordia are initiated directly on the floral apex, and the stamens are distributed evenly around the hypanthium at anthesis. Resumen
Callistemon citrinus is a medicinal herb of the Myrtaceae family. It is commonly known for brush- like flowers, spiked flowers and attractive, papery bark shaggy, dark-grey and long fibrous strands. It is distributed in moist conditions and thrives on regular watering. These flowers and leaves are droopy and multi-trunked without any thorns. Osteosarcoma, a bone cancer, typically affects long bones of arms and legs, but can occur in any bone. The plant is traditionally used in the treatment of skin infection (scabies, blotch, herpes and eczema) and cancer (carcinogenesis, Colorectal Cancer, os

In the search for bioactive constituents from Vietnamese plants, the leaves and stems of Callistemon citrinus (Curtis) Skeels were selected for chemical investigation. Phytochemical analysis of plant led to the isolation of eight phenolic compounds including two flavonoids (eucalyptine (1) and 8-demethyleucalyptine (2)), two alcohols (blumenol A (3), n-tetratriacontanol (4)), three benzoic acid derivatives (acid gallic (5), methyl gallate (6) protocatechuic acid (7)), one sterol (b-sitosterol (8)), and along with one sesquiterpene (2,6,10-bisabolatriene (9)).

Cost-effective manufacture of hydrogen proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEM-fuel cells) is of much interest to concerned researchers. Platinum metal has already shown good performance in the PEM fuel cell, yet its high cost means that it is not affordable to all nations. This paper identifies ways to reduce the cost by replacing platinum-based PEM fuel cells with synthesised eco-friendly silver (Ag) nanoparticles and reducing graphene oxide coated silver composited zinc oxide (rGO/Ag-ZnO) nanomaterials. Ag nanoparticles and reduced graphene oxide coated silver composited zinc oxide nanomat

Resumen
The current study assessed the impact of 0.09% aqueous leaf extract from Callistemon citrinus on the growth of two cultivars of Sorghum bicolor L. (Giza 15 - G15 and Dorado - Dor) under two salinity levels (100 mM and 200 mM NaCl). Results revealed that salinity reduced various growth criteria, including insoluble and total carbohydrates, photosynthetic pigments, protein, total phenols, and reduced glutathione, while soluble carbohydrates (sucrose and trehalose) were influenced. Salinity also affected free amino acids (proline and glycine betaine), malondialdehyde, and ascorbic acid. The activ
