Although much information has accumulated on the importance of leptospiral lipopolysaccharide in protective antibody responses, relatively little is known about proteins that participate in immune responses. Identification of those proteins induced only in the host is particularly difficult. Using a novel double-antibody screen designed to identify clones in a gene library of L. interrogans serovar Pomona expressing host-inducible proteins, we have characterized a gene (lk75.3) encoding a sphingomyeli

Abstract Immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapy demonstrated limited efficacy in colorectal cancer (CRC), and identification of intrinsic factors modulating immune suppression in CRC is an unmet need. Here, we revealed that Chromosome 8 open reading frame 76 (C8orf76) drives immunosuppression and is a molecular target to boost ICB therapy in CRC. C8orf76 is upregulated in primary CRCs compared to adjacent normal tissues in 2 independent CRC cohorts and its expression predicts poor patient survival. The SA is incorporated into an Erbium-doped fiber laser (EDFL) cavity to generate a Q-switching pulses train operating at 1559.8 nm. As a result, stable passively Q-switched EDFL pulses with maximum output pulse energy of 123.2 nJ, repetition rate of 104.1 kHz, and pulse width of 9.61 us are achieved when the input pump power is 142.1

Abstract We aimed to analyze the efficacy of neoadjuvant immunochemotherapy versus chemotherapy alone in the real-world settings, and to further explore tumor immune microenviroment (TIME), as well as its influence on response of neoadjuvant therapy in patients with NSCLC. Fifty-three patients with neoadjuvant therapy (immunochemotherapy, n=22; chemotherapy alone, n=31), resectable stage I~III, age≥18 years, and ECOG performance status 0-1 were recruited in the study. Abstract Immune checkpoint molecule B7-H3, also known as CD276, is a member of the B7-CD28 family of immunomodulatory proteins. It is a type I membrane protein with sequence similarities to the extracellular domain of programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1). B7-H3 is highly expressed in most human cancers, but has limited distribution in normal tissues, remaining elusive of its receptor. Due to its promising safety as a dominant tumor target, various strategies have been developed to modulate the effect of B7-H3 via monoclonal antibodies, bispecific antibodies, ADC, or CAR-T. Among all the hydrogen generation technologies, electrolysis driven by clean energy is currently the sustainable technology of choice but is relatively costly hampering its wide adoption.1 Meanwhile, solar energy is ubiquitous and abundant; hence it could be the best candidate to drive the water splitting reaction. Photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting is currently gaining a lot of interest in the research field, however several challenges still need to be addressed to feasibly produce hydrogen on the large scale. Abstract EGFR activating mutations are prevalent in 10-50% of NSCLC patients. The most common EGFR mutations, L858R (L) and Del19 (D), initially respond to first-, second-, or third-generation (1G, 2G and 3G) EGFR-TKIs. However, on-target resistance, primarily by T790M (T) and C797X(C), inevitably emerges post-treatment and leads to disease progression. Different treatment sequence give rise to different complex mutations. In patients resistant to the 3G TKI osimertinib, double mutations L858R/C797X or Del19/C797X (LC or DC) were observed at a frequency of up to 12% after first-line osimertini

Abstract Patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) can achieve no evidence of disease (NED) after curative treatment. However, the survival benefit of adjuvant chemotherapy (ACT) for these patients remains uncertain. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA)-based molecular residual disease (MRD) detection has shown to help predict recurrence risk in CRC. Recent retrospective studies have indicated that ACT offers no clinical benefit in surgically resected mCRC with negative ctDNA.
