The production model is heading from mass production toward mass customization in these days. Due to the shorter product lifecycle, the demand of product customization and variety is increasing, and which leads the production model to a new and chanllengin direction. This research dedicate on development a mass customization information platform to support comsumers on customization process and suppliers on manufacturing activities as well. This platform provides functions to coordinate different behaviors including comsumer requirment collection, purchase order tranformation, purchase order management and suppliers manufacturing execution by employing the multi-agents based system which is called "Agent based Mass Customization Information Service Platform (AMCISP)". The content of this research can be divided into three parts. To be more specific, the first part of this reseach is focused on modeling of the mass production and custmization process and the associated analysis done by using Petri-Net. The process model came from the process analysis named as “As-Is process model”. Then, the mass customization service process is proposed based on the results of As-Is process analysis. The process model is so-called “To-Be process model”. The second part of this research is focused on the information requirment analysis which is mainly extracted from the To-Be process model. The following part of this reseach describes the implementation details of the AMCISP such as the intelligent agent system architecture, communication models, and collabortation behaviors. In addition, the RFID technology is involved for the improvement of data acquisition effectiveness in the distributed operation. A new application model of RFID systems in manufacturing environment is presented in this stage. Finally, a customization bicycle scenario is used to demostarte the customization requirements collection process, automatic parts selection and the execution detail of the AMCISP. The contributions of this research are developing the new methodology for constructing an information platform to support the mass customization manufacturing, and a new distributed mechanism of monitoring the manufacturing process among outsourcing partners in real time using agent technology.

In order to forecast demand precisely and satisfy them instantly, it is necessary to integrate the processes of new product development in supply chain by the information technology and managerial methods. In this study, the aspects of the supply chain members for mass customization are considered, the critical factors of improving mass customization by the method of CPFR(Collaborative Planning and Forecasting and Replenishment) with Analytic Hierarchy Process are discussed first, and then the framework of the information system is analyzed with an object oriented language to establish the platform of design and purchasing under mass customization.

This research probes into the subject of collaborative design systems for mass customization. In this article, the development of mass customization and the products collaborative design technology are analyzed by using IDEF0 diagram. Finally, a prototype model of collaborative design systems for mass customization is designed and set up. After combining both mass customization and collaborative design, we discuss the effects upon the products creation of enterprises for satisfying the variety demand of customers. A design example of golf clubs is discussed in this research. This research classifies the design information in a virtual enterprise, and establishes the collaborative design systems for golf clubs based on mass customization through internet. The main purpose of this research is to make customers select individually their own unique products specifications, satisfy more the customers' demands and reach customization. Collaborative design systems for mass customization integrate design and produce promotion value. In the design area, designers communicate without space constraints, and bring the interaction relationships with more efficient and intimate. Since companies and customers connect effectively and response immediately for design case of new product development, collaborative system for designing golf clubs brings up the demand of design correction and reduce the design periods to make the product entering the market quickly.

This paper mainly focuses on discussing the relevance and influence among design capability, collaboration capability, manufacturing capability, customization capability and customer satisfaction. A total of 135 questionnaires were responsed and 105 of them were valid. After statistical analysis results, the findings of this paper are as following: (1) Design capability, collaboration capability, manufacturing capability, customization capability and customer satisfaction have significant positive correlation to each other. (2) Design capability, collaboration capability, manufacturing capability and customization capability have significant positive effect on customer satisfaction by using sample linear regression analysis.
