Resumen
In October 2012, symptoms of cavity spot (1) were observed on roots of two 50 ha, Red Core Chantenay processing carrot (Daucus carota L. subsp. sativus (Hoffm.)) crops in the Columbia Basin of central Washington. Symptoms consisted of sunken, elliptical lesions (3 to 15 mm long) on the root surface. Approximately 6% of the roots in each crop were affected, which was sufficient to present sorting problems for the processor. Symptomatic roots were washed thoroughly in tap water, and then small sections of tissue from the lesion margins were removed aseptically and plated onto water agar (WA) without surface-sterilization. Isolates with morphological characteristics typical of Pythium sulcatum Pratt & Mitchell (2) were obtained consistently from the symptomatic tissue. The genus and species identity of seven isolates was confirmed by sequence analysis of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) 1-5.8S-ITS2 region of ribosomal DNA (rDNA) using universal eukaryotic primers UN-UP18S42 and UN-LO28S576B with the PCR protocol described by Schroeder et al. (3). The ITS consensus sequences of the seven isolates (Accession Nos. KF509939 to KF509945) were 98 to 99% homologous to ITS sequences of P. sulcatum in GenBank. Pathogenicity of all seven isolates was confirmed by inoculating mature carrot roots of cv. Bolero. Each root was washed with tap water, sprayed to runoff with 70% isopropanol, and dried in a laminar flow hood on sterilized paper toweling. The roots were then placed in plastic bins lined with paper toweling moistened with sterilized, deionized water. Each root was inoculated by placing two 5 mm-diameter agar plugs, taken from the edge of an actively growing WA culture of the appropriate isolate, on the root surface approximately 3 cm apart. Non-colonized agar plugs were used for a non-inoculated control treatment. Four replicate roots were inoculated for each isolate and the control treatment. After inoculation, the roots were misted with sterilized, deionized water, a lid was placed on each bin, and the roots were incubated in the dark at 22°C. Roots were misted daily to maintain high relative humidity. Dark, sunken lesions were first observed 3 days post-inoculation on roots inoculated with the P. sulcatum isolates, and all inoculated roots displayed cavity spot lesions by 7 days. No symptoms were observed on the non-inoculated control roots. Colonies with morphology typical of P. sulcatum were re-isolated from the symptomatic tissue of roots inoculated with the P. sulcatum isolates, and the species identity of the re-isolates was confirmed by ITS rDNA sequence analysis, as described above. Although P. sulcatum is one of several Pythium species that can cause cavity spot of carrot (1), to our knowledge, this is the first report of P. sulcatum causing cavity spot in Washington State, which has the largest acreage of processing carrot crops in the United States (4). Resumen
Purple coneflowers (Echinacea purpurea) are grown in North America and Europe for their medicinal properties and as ornamental plants. In September 1997 and again in 1998, a previously undescribed disease was noticed on fully grown coneflower plants in Summerland and Oliver, British Columbia. Mycelia were observed on stems, foliage, and flowers, and distinct dark red to black, round (approximately 5 mm in diameter) lesions were observed on the flower petals. The disease appeared similar to powdery mildews that have been reported on numerous genera of the Asteraceae. Samples of the diseased tissue were examined and the salient features of the fungus on two specimens were determined: cleistothecia infrequent, subglobose or flattened on the side next to the leaf surface, 121 to 209 μm in diameter; epidermal (surface) cells 20 μm in diameter; appendages hyphoid, 5 μm in diameter, up to 200 μm long; asci, 10 to 19 in each cleistothecium, broadly ellipsoid, 47 to 85 × 28 to 37 μm with a short stalk, about 8 to 13 μm long and 8 μm in diameter; ascospores, immature, two per ascus, ellipsoid to broadly ellipsoid, 17 to 25 × 11 to 13 μm, thin walled, hyaline, and smooth; conidia oblong with sides slightly convex and apices truncate, 27 to 40 × 14 to 20 μm, walls hyaline, thin, smooth. Based on the occurrence of asci that contained two ascospores and the hyphoid appendages on the cleistothecia we concluded that the fungus was Erysiphe cichoracearum DC. Damage due to this disease was minimal in 1997 and 1998 because it developed very late in the growing season and occurred sporadically within the plantings. In order to complete Koch's postulates, Echinacea purpurea plants grown in the greenhouse were inoculated with a conidial suspension (105 to 106 conidia per ml) from field-infected plants. Powdery mildew first appeared 3 months later, eventually infecting leaves and stems of 12 of 49 inoculated plants. It was distinctly white and in discrete patches on leaves, compared with coalescing dark brown areas on the stems. Microscopic examination of the conidia confirmed that they were E. cichoracearum. Although powdery mildew caused by E. cichoracearum has been widely reported on lettuce, safflower, and other cultivated and wild Compositae, we found no reference to it on Echinacea spp. in Canada (1,2), the U.S. (3), or elsewhere in the world (4). The specimens have been deposited in the National Mycological Herbarium of Canada (DAOM) with accession numbers 225933 and 225934 for Oliver and Summerland, B.C., respectively. References: (1) U. AbstractSnow glide is the translational slip of the entire snowpack over a sloping ground surface, and it is thought that rapid rates of snow glide precede full-depth avalanches. The nature of avalanches that release at the ground makes them difficult to predict and difficult to control using explosives.On-slope instrumentation comprised of stainless-steel "glide shoes" was used to measure rates of snow glide for two winters on a bedrock slope adjacent to the Coquihalla Highway, Cascade Mountains, British Columbia, Canada. Climate data and avalanche occurrences were recorded by the British Columbia Ministry of Transportation and Highways. Our results show that the supply of free water to the snow/ground interface by rain or snowmelt is the most important influence on full-depth avalanche release. Full-depth avalanche release responds to rainfall and snowmelt events within 12-24 hours. Occasionally, full-depth avalanches occur unexpectedly during clear, cold periods. Snowmelt by radiation is thought to contribute enough meltwater during these cold periods to induce higher rates of snow glide and full-depth avalanche release. The results also indicate that snow glide alone is not a reliable indicator for full-depth avalanche release.

Resumen
An estimated 6 km of basic to silicic volcanic flows and clastic rocks of the Early Jurassic Telkwa Formation is exposed in moderately east-dipping fault blocks along the Zymoetz River, British Columbia. Extensive wholesale zeolitic replacement of porous tuff beds suggests widespread hydrothermal activity. Metamorphic grade increases regionally from laumontite–albite facies to prehnite–pumpellyite facies with increasing stratigraphic depth. Telkwa Formation strata and the imparted metamorphic zonation are cut and tilted by rotational block faulting, and are repeated in each of the upturned blocks. Late Mesozoic to Tertiary plutonism locally thermally overprinted the regional facies, particularly in the western part of the area. Fluid-inclusion isochores, combined with calculated mineral equilibria, suggest that metamorphism took place at fluid pressures of 2 kbar (1 kbar = 100 MPa) or less, consistent with estimates of stratigraphic burial. Metamorphic fluids were H2O rich and low in dissolved salts. Maximum temperatures during regional depth-controlled hydrothermal metamorphism, based upon the widespread presence of laumontite and the lack of wairakite in the middle to upper parts of the Telkwa Formation, probably did not exceed about 250 °C at H2O pressures of 2 kbar. Mineral zones, estimated paleotemperatures, and geothermal gradients are comparable to regional hydrothermal metamorphism in active volcanic settings such as Iceland.

Resumen
The adaptive hydraulics (AdH) numerical code was applied to study tidal propagation in the Lower Columbia River (LCR) estuary. The results demonstrate the readiness of this AdH model towards the further study of hydrodynamics in the LCR. The AdH model accurately replicated behavior of the tide as it propagated upstream into the LCR system. Results show that the MSf tidal component and the M4 overtidal component are generated in the middle LCR and contain a substantial amount of tidal energy. An analysis was performed to determine the causes of MSf tide amplification, and it was found that approximately 80% of the amplification occurs due to nonlinear interaction between the M2 and the S2 tidal components.

Resumen
An in situ densification probe that employs the novel technique of simultaneous vibration and dewatering has been developed by Phoenix Engineering Ltd. to compact deep, loose, granular soils. It is believed that pumping water out of the soil during the densification process offers improved densification capability over systems operating with vibration alone. An independent study was undertaken by the In-Situ Testing Group at the University of British Columbia to evaluate the performance of the Phoenix system.A field testing programme was conducted at a site in Vancouver where hydraulic sand fill overlies a natural silt and then medium Fraser River sand. Characterization of the site and evaluation of the densification treatment process were achieved using in situ tests. Changes to soil parameters due to densification treatment were examined, taking into account the modification of stresses brought about by the vibro-drainage process. The study investigated the degree of densification achieved, the value of concurrent drainage, the zone of influence of a single compaction probe, and group effects. The study also compares the performance of the Phoenix machine with that of other vibrocompaction equipment. Key words: in situ, densification, soils, granular, probe, vibratory, drainage, compaction, R&D.

Resumen
The subjective reactions of listeners from various backgrounds to speech varieties used in Medellin, Colombia, were investigated using the matched-guise technique with a series of measuring scales. In all three dimensions of a semantic differential scale-namely, competence, personal integrity, and social attractiveness-Non-Antioqueno Dialect (NAD) speakers were rated significantly higher than Antioqueno Dialect (AD) speakers regardless of the sex or the dialect of the subject, or the sex of the speaker. In the case of social attractiveness, however, for female subjects the difference between NAD speakers and AD speakers was somewhat larger than for the male subjects. The evaluations of male speakers were significantly higher than those of female speakers regardless of the sex of the subject, the dialect of the subject, or the dialect of the speaker. For AD subjects the difference in ratings between male and female speakers was about the same for male and female subjects; however, for NAD female subjects this difference was somewhat larger than for the NAD male subjects. In general, the evaluations of speakers by different age groups indicated a significant difference, between older and younger subjects. The younger subjects rated speakers significantly lower. than the older subjects did for all three variables of evaluation, that is, competence, personal integrity and social attractiveness. While no significant effect was found for socio-economic status (SES) non the variables of personal integrity and social attractiveness, SES was found to have a significant effect on evaluations of competence. In this dimension of evaluation, lowermiddle class subjects rated speakers significantly differently from the middle-middle class and the upper-middle class subjects. The former ranked speakers higher on competence than the middle-middle class and the upper-middle class subjects did. Finally, subjects assigned prestigious professions to NAD speakers, while only non-prestigious occupations were matched with the AD speakers. Additionally, the proportion of times male speakers were judged to have a prestigious occupation was significantly higher than the proportion of times female speakers were judged so.Within the theoretical framework of this study, differential reactions to the guises assumed by the speakers were interpreted as revealing differential attitudes towards the speech varieties. The evaluations are taken to be attitudes not only toward the speakers themselves, but also toward the language forms of the varieties involved.

Resumen
It has been said that the character of an institution is largely determined by its history and the personalities that shaped it. If this is so, the Frederic Wood Theatre has much to draw on, for it was founded in the spirit of cooperation and promise. This thesis traces the beginning of the university from the original petition for its formation, through its early struggle to be established. Concurrent with this expansion is the growth of theatre at the university, a development which helped to introduce the institution throughout the province. The current Frederic Wood Theatre is the outgrowth of a tradition of theatre at the University of British Columbia. The beginning of this historical retrospective is the original petition for the founding of the university. Subsequent to that initial and failed attempt, the University of British Columbia was created by legislation through the efforts of Henry Esson Young, the "Father of the university", and by organization through the works of Frank Fairchild Wesbrook, its first President. Professor Frederic Wood, a founding member of the faculty in 1915, formed the Players'Club which provided the university its theatrical foundation for the next thirty years. Dorothy Somerset, a Director of the Players'Club and the Vancouver Little Theatre (also co-founded by Prof. Frederic Wood) established accredited theatre courses at the university and founded the Summer School of the Theatre. In 1952, these achievements won her the university's first legitimate theatre: the Frederic Wood. With single-minded purpose, Dorothy Somerset further established the Department of Theatre in 1958, building the present 410 seat Frederic Wood Theatre five years later in 1963. More than a physical building, the Frederic Wood Theatre is a dynamic process responding to the energies and influences of its principals. Seven individuals (out of hundreds) who were fundamental in contributing to the accomplishments of the Frederic Wood Theatre are introduced: Henry Esson Young, ''Father of the University'; Frank Fairchild Wesbrook, first President of the University of British Columbia; Professor Frederic G.C. Wood, founder of the Players' Club; Dorothy Somerset, founder of the Department of Theatre; Jessie Richardson, in whose honour years later, the Jessie Awards were created; Norman Young, stage manager, publicizer and lobbyist, and John Brockington, Head of the Theatre Department for 23 years, the man who guided and developed its academic and degree granting programs. Few people realize how great a role the theatre has played in the establishment of the University of British Columbia.

Mawani, Tameezan. "Evaluation of the Commercial Groundfish Integration Pilot Program in British Columbia". 2009. http://hdl.handle.net/10170/133.

Texto completo
Resumen
In 2006, the Minister of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) accepted an industry proposal called the Commercial Groundfish Integration Pilot Program (CGIPP), which integrated each of the seven commercial groundfish fisheries in British Columbia. The industry proposal, developed by the Commercial Industry Caucus (CIC), was the result of guiding principles developed by DFO that focused on the conservation of certain rockfish species on the Pacific Coast. If industry had not developed a plan, DFO would have developed an alternative fishing plan (AFP). This thesis evaluates whether DFOs conservation objectives were met under the CGIPP and if there were any social and economic impacts. These same impacts are compared to what may have occurred under the AFP. The results of this thesis indicate that the CGIPP is a sustainable template for multi-species commercial fisheriesa first step in achieving an ecosystem-based approach to fisheries management.

Kennedy, Kathryn Anne. "John K. Friesen : adult educator, mentor and humanitarian". Thesis, 1992. http://hdl.handle.net/2429/2986.

Texto completo
Resumen
Dr. John K. Friesen is a Canadian who, for over 50 years worked first in the field of adult education in Canada and then in population planning internationally. He gained prominence in his own country, considerable international stature and a reputation for his vision and capability. Friesen successfully used a democratic, cooperative approach in discovering and responding to community requirements in adult learning. This biographical study provides new material about his character, goals, influences. The thesis focuses on Friesen’s work as Director of Extension for the University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, Canada (1953 - 1966) but also outlines his life and career before this term and gives a synopsis of his international work. A brief description is given of Friesen’s upbringing in a small rural community in Manitoba, his experiences as an educator and leader during the great depression and of his war service in the RCAF. His work in organizing adult education programs for the Manitoba Federation of Agriculture and his life during post-graduate studies at Columbia University are described. He was involved in the cooperative movement and provided informed, effective leadership in Manitoba’s post-war efforts to renew its educational system and to develop a network of hospitals. The thesis examines Friesen’s commitments, methods and the management style he applied in expanding the UBC Extension Department into a sophisticated organization. Under his leadership the department became influential in adult education, leadership and citizenship training in British Columbia; also it was involved in international adult education work. Research was conducted into the work of Friesen and others in originating a graduate program in adult education at UBC. The nature and outcomes of his work in promoting continuing professional education is also examined. The role of Extension in the Vancouver International Festival and other cultural development work is discussed. Friesen is shown to have extended the work of the University into communities throughout the province using study-discussion groups, lectures, credit and noncredit programs in this work. A change in University policy (1963) forced the Department to abandon much of its community based work; the consequences of this shift are considered. Comment from seven of Friesen’s senior colleagues provides insight into his leadership quality and the perceived value of the work carried out during his term. Some conclusions are drawn about Friesen’s life as an educator and humanitarian and on his approach to adult education. The ideas, ideals, commitments and convictions demonstrated by Friesen remain valid today.

Resumen
AbstractWhile the subset of introduced species that become invasive is small, the damages caused by that subset and the costs of controlling them can be substantial. This chapter takes an in-depth look at the economic damages non-native species cause, methods economists often use to measure those damages, and tools used to assess invasive species policies. Ecological damages are covered in other chapters of this book. To put the problem in perspective, Federal agencies reported spending more than half a billion dollars per year in 1999 and 2000 for activities related to invasive species ($513.9 million in 1999 and $631.5 million in 2000 (U.S. GAO 2000)). Approximately half of these expenses were spent on prevention. Several states also spend considerable resources on managing non-native species; for example, Florida spent $127.6 million on invasive species activities in 2000 (U.S. GAO 2000), and the Great Lakes states spend about $20 million each year to control sea lamprey (Petromyzon marinus) (Kinnunen 2015). Costs to government may not be the same as actual damages, which generally fall disproportionately on a few economic sectors and households. For example, the impact of the 2002 outbreak of West Nile virus exceeded $4 million in damages to the equine industries in Colorado and Nebraska alone (USDA APHIS 2003) and more than $20 million in public health damages in Louisiana (Zohrabian et al. 2004). Zebra mussels (Dreissena polymorpha) cause $300–$500 million annually in damages to power plants, water systems, and industrial water intakes in the Great Lakes region (Great Lakes Commission 2012) and are expected to cause $64 million annually in damages should they or quagga mussels (Dreissena bugensis) spread to the Columbia River basin (Warziniack et al. 2011).

Resumen
Abstract The Independent Simultaneous Source (ISS) seismic acquisition in the southern Columbus Basin conducted by WesternGeco for BPTT is in the early stages of seismic processing. Early results are already revealing improved imaging and structural interpretations. Improvements in imaging and depth conversion are compelling, largely the result of full azimuths, longer azimuths, higher fold, lower frequency content and P/Z recording. Because of these factors the resultant OBC data leads to improved velocity model building utilizing BP's Full Waveform Inversion, FWI, techniques. In a field wide comparison done in the southern part of the basin the OBC image provided marked increases in the following over the heritage streamer data; Fault clarity, where reflector terminations and linkages are much clearer.Reflector continuity, especially in the deeper (greater than 12,000 ft. depths). This improvement seen throughout the dataset is most noticeable below shallow gas accumulations and in areas next to platforms previously only covered by lower fold data. Seismic sequences are also now more interpretable.Flat-spot detection where previous identification was unknown.Early results also point to improved spatial positioning of reflectors under shallow gas accumulations and, in the depth migrated volumes, the removal of the sag due to incorrect velocity fields. This paper illustrates comparisons in the Columbus Basin between the new OBC data and heritage streamer data in support of the above claims of improved image and depth positioning.

Resumen
We analyze surface waves generated by a translating, oscillating surface disturbance atop a horizontal background flow of arbitrary depth dependence, with a focus on determining the Doppler resonance. For a critical value of the dimensionless frequency τ = ωV/g (ω: oscillation frequency, V: source velocity, g: gravitational acceleration) at which generated waves cannot escape. In the absence of shear the resonant value is famously 1/4; the presence of a shear current modifies this. We derive the theoretical and numerical tools for studying this problem, and present the first calculation of the Doppler resonance for a source atop a real, measured shear current to our knowledge. Studying graphical solutions to the (numerically obtained) dispersion relation allows derivation of criteria determining the number of far-field waves that exist in different sectors of propagation directions, from which the criteria for Doppler resonance follow. As example flows we study a typical wind-driven current, and a current measured in the Columbia River estuary. We show that modeling these currents as uniform or with a linear depth dependence based on surface measures may lead to large discrepancies, in particular for long and moderate wavelengths.

Resumen
Pembina Pipeline Corporation (Pembina) owns and operates close to 10,000 km of crude, natural gas liquids (NGL), and natural gas pipelines across North America, with the majority of assets in western Alberta and eastern British Columbia. The Pembina pipeline network includes over 1,600 river and stream crossings, most of which are subject to varying degrees of vertical and/or lateral erosion. 1,260 crossings were in Alberta at the onset of the study. Identifying potential lateral erosion hazards is a critical component of geohazard management program for pipeline integrity. In 2012, Pembina initiated a three-phase program to proactively address lateral-stability issues at river and stream crossings in Alberta: phase one identified and short-listed crossings that have potential lateral channel-shifting problems; phase two assessed which short-listed crossings have insufficient cover depth to accommodate the potential channel-shifting activities and ranked these crossings as high risk of exposure; and phase three will develop plans for repair and/or replacement of the high-risk crossings. Through this program, Pembina explores the significance of lateral erosion and encroachment at pipeline water crossings of various vintages, with regards to pipeline integrity. This paper provides discussion as to how crossing geohazard risks are identified, with particular emphasis on stream bank erosion, and how this fits into Pembina’s overall risk management program. As well, selected case studies are provided.

Resumen
As part of a major pipeline expansion, two deactivated 24″ diameter pipeline segments with a combined length of 192 kilometres will be assessed and upgraded to operational status. These line segments include a 42 kilometre section within the North Thompson valley of British Columbia, and a 150 kilometre segment through the Rocky Mountains of Alberta and British Columbia. Reactivating the lines to operational condition is a multi-staged process, which will be partially guided by a National Energy Board Condition requiring the issuance of a certificate from an independent certifying body that the system is fit for service and meets all applicable requirements of CSA Z662, Oil and Gas Pipeline Systems. This certificate must be unconditional and remain in effect for a period of 5 years. The need for unconditional certification of fitness for service drives the need for a comprehensive assessment of the pipeline condition using a broad slate of inline inspection technologies. Tools were selected for the assessment of deformations, metal loss, manufacturing anomalies and cracking. The lines were maintained with a low pressure nitrogen blanket for between 9 and 13 years prior to the start of the reactivation work and it was therefore not possible to run the tools using service fluid. Several options were considered for propelling the inline inspection tools including nitrogen, compressed air and water slugs in compressed nitrogen or air. Each method has advantages and disadvantages and modelling was carried out to simulate the transport of the tools through each segment. The modelling needed to account for pipe elevation changes, wall thickness changes, valves, tool drive friction, acceptable tool velocity, and the pressure of the drive medium in the pipeline. The modelling focused on the following constraints: i. Ensure ILI data quality ii. Ensure safety considering the potential presence of defects in the lines iii. Minimize risk iv. Minimize overall cost These constraints guided a flow modelling/feasibility study for inspecting the lines with the 4 tools. The objective of the study was to determine the optimum configuration of propellant, inspection tools, and line segmentation while ensuring a safe, economical operation resulting in optimal data collection. The paper will provide some background on the line segments being reactivated and pressure limitations that were adopted for ILI runs. The majority of the content will focus on the determination of tool drive technique, how simulation occurred and how the actual execution of the runs compared. Details regarding the challenges and troubleshooting required to successfully complete the integrity surveys will also be discussed in depth.

Resumen
Abstract In the late 1960s and early 1970s, the researchers of the NG-18 committee at the Battelle Institute in Columbus, Ohio completed a seminal study on the failure pressures of flaws in oil and gas pipelines. One of the key developments was the “log-secant” equation for the assessment of axial crack-like flaws. The model was later modified to improve its accuracy and precision. The Gamma Exponent Model (GEM) was recently developed for assessment of axial crack-like flaws in pipelines. The developer recognized that the NG-18 log-secant model was theoretically derived on length, and then empirically corrected for depth. The new GEM was theoretically derived on depth, and then empirically corrected for length. The new model is similar in mathematical form to the original NG-18 log-secant model, but there are some key differences. This work is a validation study of the GEM using axial crack failure pressure data from the industry literature. Laboratory tests with machined flaws, and hydrotest and in-service failures with natural metallurgical flaws, are also considered. The results of the GEM are compared to the equivalent failure predictions using other models. The strengths and limitations of the new model are discussed in the context of improved accuracy and precision for crack assessments.

Resumen
Abstract Pipeline watercourse crossing assessments typically require field investigations, river surveys, and detailed scour analyses to predict whether or not a pipeline may be subject to flood scour deeper than their depth of cover (DOC). Flood scour algorithms rely on discharge, median grain size, and some measure of channel cross-sectional area to determine the tractive force of water on the stream bed. These algorithms are applied to non-cohesive sediments typical of fluvial systems. To better define pipeline threats at a screening level, reducing unnecessary field and analytical expenses, and focusing effort on credible hazards, we developed a flood scour screening tool that uses return period discharge (Q) as the only input requirement. In order to develop the tool, we plotted the results of over 400 detailed scour assessments for several grain sizes (1100 data points) completed in Alberta and British Columbia, in 2017, 2018 and 2019. The results clearly show the importance of channel variability and grain size, but also show definable discharge related trends. We compared the results of the National Engineering Handbook (NEH) and the United States Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) methods, both of which use industry accepted algorithms. We developed, and provided herein, relationships that can be used to screen out scour assessments at watercourse crossings where DOC is already known, or to support and expedite field programs where DOC is being obtained. If only Q is known, then a single graph, or single equation is used for a given region using fine sand as the assumed median grain size. If both Q and median grain size are known, then the user can determine a slightly less conservative result from a series of complementary equations. In all cases, we propose using the mean result of the USBR method, originally intended for design, to fully capture the potential variability in the calculated NEH flood scour. While conservative, the tool is easy to use, and we expect it will substantially reduce the assessment effort on smaller, or less erosive streams.
