Resumen
One of the main observed gains of Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) is the ability to compose new services to achieve high level functionalities. Thus, it is necessary to organize services in a manner to achieve this goal automatically and easily. Furthermore, the emergence of wireless technologies and intelligent mobile devices has enabled the creation of a new kind of services called context-aware composite services. With such services, context plays a great role in their design and development process in order to produce the most appropriate response. In this paper, the authors aim to present their Context-Aware Composite Service (CACS) metamodel for design and development of these services, and, a dedicated tool called MA2C (A Mediator Architecture for Context-aware Composition) responsible of their dynamic generation and execution.

Resumen
Users (or software agents) are served by multiple networked terminal devices, each of which may in turn have multiple network interfaces. This multi-homing at both ???user??? and ???device??? level presents new opportunities for mobility handling. Mobility may be handled by switching ongoing application data streams between devices, by utilising intermediary adaptation or connectivity enhancement services, or both. However this requires middleware support that is not provided by current systems. This thesis presents a set of integrated solutions to enable this kind of mobility handling, based on concept of Personal Networks (PN). Personal Networks (PN) consist of dynamic conglomerations of terminal and service devices tasked to facilitate the delivery of information to and from a single focal point, which may be a human user or software agent. This concept creates the potential to view mobility handling as a path selection problem, since there may be multiple valid terminal device and service proxy configurations that can successfully carry a given communication session from one PN to another PN. Depending on context, it may be necessary to switch between paths. To this end, this thesis proposes and evaluates a set of inter-dependent mechanisms to facilitate the discovery and use of different candidate end-to-end paths. The proposal comprises mechanisms for secure inter-device mobility using delegated cryptographic identifiers, autonomous service proxy selection and composition, and distributed resolution of cryptographic identifiers to lower layer addresses.

Resumen
Different computation problem domains such as sorting, matrix multiplication, etc. usually require different data representations and algorithms variants implementations in order to be adapted and re-designed to context-aware composition (CAC). Context-aware composition is a technique for the design of applications that can adapt its behavior according to changes in the program. We considered two application domains: matrix multiplication and graph algorithms (DFS algorithm in particular). The main problem in the implementation of the representation mechanisms applied in these problem domains is time spent on the data representation conversion that in the end should not influence the application performance.        This thesis work presents a flexible aspect-based architecture that includes the data structure representation adaptation in order to reduce implementation efforts required for adaptation different application domains.      Although, manual approach has small overhead 4-10% for different problems compared to the AOP-based approach, experiments show that the manual adaptation to CAC requires on average three times more programming effort in terms of lines of code than AOP-based approach. Moreover, the AOP-based approach showed the average speed-up over baseline algorithms that use standard data structures of 2.1.

Pervasive environments are populated by several devices (sensors, actuators, etc.) and software applications (local or distributed) incorporated these physical environments transparently to the user. Environments of this type should be able to interact and process user requests autonomously and transparently. In this sense, one of the biggest research challenges in pervasive environments is to establish automatic mechanisms to compose dynamically, features that meet the user requirements. In this sense, we set the hypothesis that automatic mechanisms of interaction between users and environments can be addressed as a problem of automatic composition of services in pervasive environments. Therefore, our proposal is to develop a reference model, from which systems can be implemented to enable the pervasive environment interact with the user in a natural, automatic and dynamic. Thus, the system service composition management and automates the process of resolving requests made by the user (implicitly and / or explicitly) through the functionality (services) available in the environment or through new features created by the process of composition. To this end, this paper presents a Reference Model that allows to design, implement and evaluate systems of composition of services that manage and automate the interaction process in different types of pervasive environments. Our proposal brings benefits such as loose coupling and interoperability, because it is possible to select, integrate and reuse in an efficient and effective heterogeneous services from different types of devices and / or applications. Furthermore, the ontological model WSMO (Web Services Modeling Ontology) allows us to semantically describe the capabilities of the services as well as contextual information in the environment, which makes our system closer to a real pervasive environment as conceived by Mark Weiser.

Ubiquitous computing systems operate in environments where the available resources significantly change during the system operation, thus requiring adaptive and context aware mechanisms to sense changes in the environment and adapt to new execution contexts. Motivated by this requirement, a framework for developing and executing adaptive context aware applications is proposed. The PACCA framework employs aspect-oriented techniques to modularize the adaptive behavior and to keep apart the application logic from this behavior. PACCA uses abstract aspect concept to provide flexibility by addition of new adaptive concerns that extend the abstract aspect. Furthermore, PACCA has a default aspect model that considers habitual adaptive concerns in ubiquitous applications. It exploits the synergy between aspect-orientation and dynamic composition to achieve context-aware adaptation, guided by predefined policies and aim to allow software modules on demand load making possible better use of mobile devices and yours limited resources. A Development Process for the ubiquitous applications conception is also proposed and presents a set of activities that guide adaptive context-aware developer. Finally, a quantitative study evaluates the approach based on aspects and dynamic composition for the construction of ubiquitous applications based in metrics

Texto completo
Resumen
One of the advantages of smart phones is the ubiquity of sensing and computing power. The smart phone consists of a mobile computing platform. The Web browsers installed on the platform make it possible to surf the Internet through mobile broadband and Wi-Fi. An important aspect of smart phones is that they have application programming interfaces, which is able to take advantage of third-party applications. Different from any desktop applications, the smart phone applications could be highly adaptive to contexts, i.e. according to context information, e.g. location, identity, and time, the applications are tuned to satisfy particular requirements in the contexts. On the other sense, service composition is a way to plan a business process to fulfill business goals that cannot be achieved by individual business services. Service composition can be modeled as a AI planning problem. Based on the initial context and the goal context, planning-based service composition launches a goal-oriented composition procedure to generate a plan. Service composition over smart phones can be context-awareness. In this thesis, we want to investigate context based service discovery and service composition over smart phones. We propose a constraint-based context model. We include non-electronic services into service composition, which extends the scope of services considered in existing service composition research. Moreover, our composition algorithm suits mobile computation power because the service composition can adjust to the computation power of mobile phones easily. As a motivating example, we build an entertainment planner over an Android phone.
