Resumen
This dissertation expands upon the definition of eco-visualization artwork. EV was originally defined in 2006 by Tiffany Holmes as a way to display the real time consumption statistics of key environmental resources for the goal of promoting ecological literacy. I assert that the final forms of EV artworks are not necessarily dependent on technology, and can differ in terms of media used, in that they can be sculptural, video-based, or static two-dimensional forms that communicate interpreted environmental information. There are two main categories of EV: one that is predominantly screen-based and another that employs a variety of modes of representation to visualize environmental information. EVs are political acts, situated in a charged climate of rising awareness, operating within the context of environmentalism and sustainability. I discuss a variety of EV works within the frame of ecopsychology, including EcoArtTech’s Eclipse and Keith Deverell’s Building Run; Andrea Polli’s Cloud Car and Particle Falls; Nathalie Miebach’s series, The Sandy Rides; and Natalie Jeremijenko’s Mussel Choir. The range of EV works provided models for my creative project, Sculpting Corn Production, and a foundation from which I developed a creative methodology. Working to defeat my experience of solastalgia, Sculpting Corn Production is a series of discrete paper sculptures focusing on American industrial corn farming. This EV also functions as a way for me to understand our devastated monoculture landscapes and the politics, economics, and related areas of ecology of our food production.

Through a qualitative case study this research examines the needs of three generalist high school teachers in relation to arts integration, writing, critical thinking, and the art museum website. The study also examines the perspectives of art museum educators in relation to how museum websites can be used to support teaching the writing process in the school classroom. Arts integration and the museum website are analyzed in depth through literature review and in-depth semi structured interviews. This research aims to present a model for collaborative website design where the museum website is designed around classroom teachers' curricular needs.

La tesi doctoral "Les accions de l'art. 1843 i la seva relació amb l'art. 1852 del Codi civil" analitza les accions que corresponen al fiador abans del pagament davant al deutor.

S'examina, en primer lloc, els antecedents històrics de les accions contingudes en l'art. 1843 Cc; també com és regulada la qüestió pel Dret comparat. En segon lloc, s'estudia la relació existent entre l'art. 1843 i 1852 Cc, en el sentit de resoldre si és preceptiu l'exercici de les accions de rellevament de la fiança per a poder oposar les accions protectores de la subrogació.

Les conclusions bàsiques de la tesi es dirigeixen a què no sembla defensable la commixtió entre l'art. 1843 i 1852 Cc. Així mateix, es proposen una sèrie de mesures que pot utilitzar el fiador a l'empara de la nova Llei Concursal i que el concepte d'insolvència que sembla acollir l'art. 1843 Cc és el corresponent al perjudici del dret de crèdit.
La tesis doctoral "Las acciones del art. 1843 y su relación con el art. 1852 del Código civil" analiza las acciones que corresponden al fiador antes del pago frente al deudor.

Se examina, en primer lugar, los antecedentes históricos de las acciones contenidas en el art. 1843 Cc; también como es regulada la cuestión por el Derecho comparado. En segundo lugar, se estudia la relación existente entre el art. 1843 y 1852 Cc, en el sentido de discernir si es preceptivo el ejercicio de las acciones de relevación de la fianza para poder oponer las acciones protectoras de la subrogación.

Las conclusiones básicas de la tesis apuntan a que no parece defendible la conmixtión entre el art. 1843 y 1852 Cc. Asimismo, se proponen una serie de medidas que puede utilizar el fiador al amparo de la nueva Ley Concursal y que el concepto de insolvencia que parece acoger el art. 1843 Cc es el correspondiente al perjuicio del derecho de crédito.
The doctoral thesis "The actions of art. 1843 and its relation to art. 1852 Civil Code "examines the actions of the guarantors before payment against the debtor.

The tesis examines, first, the historical background of actions contained in art. 1843 cc, as well as the matter is regulated by the comparative law. Secondly, it studies the relationship between art. 1843 and 1852 cc, and if necessary the exercise of the shares the relief of the bail to exercising the protective actions of the subrogación.

The basic conclusions of the thesis suggests that it does not seem defensible conmixtión between the art. 1843 and 1852 of the Civil Code. It also proposes a series of measures that can use the guarantor under the new Bankruptcy Act and that the concept of insolvency seems that hosting the art. 1843 cc is the corresponding prejudice to the right of credit.

Denne hovedfagsavhandlingen setter fokus på hvordan metadata brukes i et integrert brukersystem i en bedrift.

I et informasjonsrom er informasjonsressurser fra ulike medier intergrert, og en trenger et felles “bindeledd” for å støtte bedre gjenfinning og tilgang til informasjon i informasjonsrommet. Problemet er ofte at de ulike medier bruker ulike format for beskrivelse av sine informasjonsressurser, noe som vanskeliggjør interoperabilitet mellom de ulike medier. Dersom de ulike medier kan bruke samme metadataformat til å beskrive sine informasjonsressurser, vil det bedre interoperabiliteten.

Dublin Core Metadata Element Set (DC) er et format utviklet med tanke på publisering av informasjonsressuser via Intranett og Internett. Det er DC som er bindeleddet i det virtuelle informasjonsrommet som denne avhandlingen tar utgangspunkt i.

Sentralt i denne avhandlingen står vurderingen av hvordan Adresseavisens indekseringsbehov kan tilfredsstilles i DC for informasjonsressurser som artikler, bilder/illustrasjoner og film. Forslag til et kjerneformat for Adresseavisens informasjonsressurser, med medieavhengige variasjoner legges frem. Dette er informasjonsressurser hvor avis er brukskontekst. Forslaget som fremlegges imøtekommer resultater fra brukerundersøkelsen, og opplysninger og observasjon av hvordan indekseringsformatene allerede benytter brukes.

Undersøkelsen har resultert i følgende funn:

• De fleste brukere velger fritekstsøk fremfor metadatasøk

• Opplæring virker inn på bruk av metadata

• Arbeidsoppgaver/Informasjonsbehov påvirker bruk av metadata

• Erfaring med databasesystemet og hyppighet i søk i databasen kan påvirke bruk av metadata

• Noen metadataelement er mer bedre egnet for søk enn andre.

Undersøkelsene gir også anbefalinger som kan være nyttige ved navngivning av metadata. Følgende fremgår av undersøkelsen:

• Forkortelser i navngivning av metadata bør unngås for å gjøre dem mer selvforklarende

• Tvetydige begreper i navngivning av metadata gjør dem mindre intuitive i forhold til forståelse for innhold

Undersøkelsen er presentert med stolpediagram og tabeller, som er metoder som kan brukes til kvalitative analyser.

Including the Arts in the Generalist Classroom is an integrated arts curriculum within a 6th grade classroom in Eagle Mountain Utah. This project describes the process of putting an art curriculum into an elementary 6th grade where there is no art specialist and no means of getting one. This project focuses on four lessons that have been written using the 6th grade Science and Social Studies Utah Core. Each lesson is written to ensure that a teacher and/or a parent volunteer can give instruction without any prior knowledge of content and/or technique in art.The Appendices describe the curriculum and more fully include essential information for proper lesson instruction. They include background information, websites, vocabulary, studio techniques, etc. are all there for the convenience of the teacher. The ultimate goal in creating these lessons is to help create an art curriculum for a school without an art specialist and have the instruction be not only art based, but also integrated withother core subjects in ways that enrich student learning through art instruction.

Since the introduction of shopping centers, it has become more and more common that the retail trade is taken over by the shopping centers. The shopping centers can offer the customers indoor shopping with stores, cafés and restaurants under the same roof. This comfortability is a competitive advantage for the shopping centers in comparison with other purchasing areas, such as the city core.

In Jönköping on the 2nd of April 1987 A6, a large shopping centre at this time the largest in the region, had it opening with great festivities. The merchants located in the city core feared that the large shopping centre would drive them out of business. After negotiations the merchants of the city core of Jönköping, the municipality and A6 made peace.

Today the two shopping areas are competing for the same customers, but are they competing on the same grounds? The city core of Jönköping is facing problems with customers leaving, but where are they going? What can be done to attract new customers and gain their old ones?

In this report we will try to find out how the city cores can do to gain, maintain and satisfy the customers. This will be done by a quantitative study of the Jönköping city core and the shopping centre A6. Interviews will be done with respondents at both A6 Centre and in the City core of Jönköping. The material we will gather, will be handed over to the organization ‘På Stan’, who is an association working with issues regarding the merchants in the city.

Through the interviews with the 200 respondents we accessed three main issues that have an impact on the customer’s choice of shopping location. These three are accessibility, range of stores and environment.

Histone proteins were examined during development in the meiotic elongate and a genetically close line N6HT. Histones were also extracted from an F1 (el x N6Ht). Comparisonc beteen the histone samples from each line of N6HT and elongate, and the F1 for leaf, root, and stem were inconclusive. A tassel sample form elongate exhibited a markedly slower migrating band that was not present in N6HT. The histone profiles of elongate and N6HT also differed. Each line N6HT and elongate exhibited three protein bands in the H1 region. Maize histone samples have been shown to exhibit four major H1 bands. The possibility exists that an H1 protein altered in its molecular weight and possibly in its interaction with the chromosome is present in elongate.

The doctoral thesis was an study about Miquel Mai, a polític, jurist, bibliophile and art collector in Barcelona in the first half of the XVI century. The thesis presents the figure of Miquel Mai by his biographic history, with emphasis in the principals chapters that he was participant. After, there was a chapter whose principal theme its the connection between Miquel Mai and the Erasmism movement. Third, it was an analysis of all the art objects that Miquel Mai accumulates. Fourth, the thesis explores the library (formed by more than 2000 books). And finally, we studied the relationship between the art objects who decorate the library and the same books that was in the library.
Aquesta tesi és un estudi al voltant de la persona de Miquel Mai, politic, jurista, bibliòfil i col•leccionista d'art a la Barcelona de la primera meitat del segle XVI. La tesi presenta a Miquel Mai a partir del seu relat biogràfic, posant especial èmfasi en els principals capítols polítics en els que va participar. Seguidament es desenvolupa un capítol dedicat a la possible definició de Miquel Mai com a erasmista i la influència que aquest corrent espiritual va jugar al llarg de la seva vida. En tercer lloc s’analitza els inventaris de béns i tota la relació d’objectes artístics que va acumular amb el pas del temps. Un quart aspecte gira entorn a l’extensa biblioteca (més de 2000 llibres) que Miquel Mai va formar a la seva residència de la plaça de la Cucurulla de Barcelona. I en cinquè lloc es posa de manifest la relació directe entre els béns artístics que decoraven la biblioteca i les lectures que precisament es trobaven en aquesta biblioteca.

Del mismo modo que Adam A. Scaife (2016), esta tesis considera que “el color del cielo ha servido de inspiración a lo largo de la historia y ha preocupado a pintores, poetas y profetas, así como a físicos” (p.74), ya que toda fuente de inspiración de este estudio proviene de la observación del cielo y sus colores. Este proyecto de investigación se titula Lienzo digital Barcelona 3.0 en relación a los colores de la ciudad de Barcelona, concretamente del cielo de la ciudad. Esta tesis cuenta con la colaboración del Observatorio Fabra, lugar donde se ha instalado la cámara para obtener los registros fotográficos, y del METEOCAT (Servicio Meteorológico de Cataluña), que ha contribuido con el sumario meteorológico de la recogida de datos. Se ha diseñado un proceso creativo para obtener los colores predominantes en el cielo de Barcelona. Se presentan los datos cromáticos registrados durante los meses de verano 2016 por ser la época del año con mayor espectro solar. Durante el desarrollo del proceso de creación se ha establecido un código y un sistema de comunicación del color en busca de paletas digitales. Los colores obtenidos se exponen en un registro de colores clasificado por meses, horas y variables meteorológicas. Estos datos cromáticos sirven para crear un lienzo digital en formato interfaz multimedia y la tecnología funciona como instrumento para la creación. Se trata de una experiencia digital inspirada en la naturaleza y que expone los colores del cielo a tiempo real a través de la aleatoriedad. Los elementos gráficos de la interfaz se representan por medio de la abstracción y la geometría. La obra se compone a partir de una sucesión de líneas verticales causales creadas por el propio sistema y que pretender seguir una retícula áurea. Esta aplicación interactiva se podría clasificar dentro del arte generativo, corriente artística del arte contemporáneo que utiliza la tecnología como instrumento para la creación y genera obras de arte a partir de algoritmos computacionales. Se ha desarrollado un proceso de creación donde el propio sistema genera muchas variaciones, únicas y no repetibles. Se trata de una obra interactiva que establece un diálogo abierto entre el público y la obra que utiliza la red como espacio de exposición y medio de creación. http://www.coloresdelaire.com/doctorado/doctorado/lienzodigitalbarcelona.html Esta tesis pretende crear un entorno “sensible” alimentado de datos externos procedentes de la naturaleza como las paletas de los colores del cielo y la información meteorológica diaria. El sistema se comporta como un indicador temporal digital cromático horario y meteorológico. Los colores van cambiando durante el transcurso del día exponiendo las tonalidades dominantes de las distintas fases de la luz del día desde el amanecer hasta el atardecer. Se pretende crear una analogía con el mundo exterior y la naturaleza y añadir el componente natural del color en el entorno digital. El sistema incluye comportamientos de participación afectiva con el usuario a través del uso de la empatía, jugando con los colores como respuesta interactiva. A través de la interacción del usuario la interfaz gráfica se transforma, creando variaciones y nuevas composiciones cromáticas. Las líneas de la interfaz reaccionan imitando los colores de las líneas colindantes hasta la transformación de la obra en un espacio monocromo apoyándose en el concepto de unidad colectiva y empatía entorno a la obra de arte conceptual. Este componente emocional quiere imitar los comportamientos “sensibles” de las personas e incluirlos en un entorno digital.
In the manner of Adam A. Scaife (2016), this thesis considers that “the colour of the sky has, all throughout history, served as inspiration for and been a concern of painters, poets and prophets, as well as physicians” (p. 74), since the only source of inspiration for this study comes from the observation of the sky and its colours. This research project is entitled Barcelona 3.0 Digital Canvas in reference to the colours of the city of Barcelona, specifically to the colour of the Barcelona sky. This thesis has been carried out with the collaboration of the Fabra Observatory – the place in which I installed the camera with which to obtain the photographic records – and of METEOCAT (Catalonia's Meteorological Agency), which has contributed to it with the meteorological summary of the data obtained. I have designed a creative process in order to obtain the predominant colours of the Barcelona sky. I hereby present chromatic data recorded during the summer months of 2016, since summer is the time of the year with a larger solar spectrum. During the development of the creation process, I set up a code and a system of communication of colour, in the search of digital palettes. The colours obtained are shown as a colour register classified by month, time and meteorological variables. These chromatic data are used to create a digital canvas in the format of a multimedia interface, and this technology works as an instrument for creation. It is a digital experience inspired by nature that exposes the colours of the sky in real time through unpredictability. The graphic elements of the interface are represented through abstraction and geometry. The work is composed by a succession of causal vertical lines created by the system itself, which try to follow a golden ratio. This interactive app could be classified as generative art, a movement within contemporary art that uses technology as a tool for creation, and which generates works of art through computational algorithms. I have developed a creation process in which the system itself generates many variations that are unique and unrepeatable. It is an interactive piece that establishes an open dialogue between audience and work, and which uses the Internet both as exhibition space and a medium for creation. http://www.coloresdelaire.com/doctorado/doctorado/lienzodigitalbarcelona.html This thesis tries to create a “sensitive” range fed by external data originated in nature, such as the colour palette of the sky and daily meteorological information. The system behaves as a time and meteorological temporary digital chromatic indicator. The colours keep on changing throughout the day, exposing the dominant tones of the different light phases of the day from dawn until dusk. I have tried to create an analogy with the external world and with nature, adding the natural component of colour to a digital environment. The system includes affective user involvement behaviour through the use of empathy, playing with colours as interactive response. Through user interaction, the graphic interface is transformed, creating new variations and chromatic compositions. The lines of the interface react by imitating the colours of contiguous lines until the work is transformed into a monochrome space based on the concept of collective unity and empathy around the conceptual work of art. This emotional component tries to imitate people's “sensitive” behaviour and include it in a digital environment.

The 18 September 2000 disclosure that StarLink corn, a genetically engineered variety not approved for human consumption, had been detected in food was a seminal event in agricultural biotechnology. This thesis presents a comprehensive case study of the StarLink incident (part one), reviews the StarLink situation in terms of crisis management theory (part two) and develops crisis management theory using the StarLink incident as an example of a crisis (part three). Part one provides background information, then a meticulous day-by-day account of StarLink-related events. Part two presents a detailed overview of crisis management theory, then examines the StarLink situation in terms of pre-crisis (warning signals, preconditions for a crisis, crisis trigger), crisis (how Aventis, the biotechnology provider, managed the crisis and opinions concerning crisis handling) and post-crisis (lessons learned). Part three develops crisis management theory using the StarLink situation as an example of a crisis. It evaluates whether the StarLink incident possessed characteristics predicted for modern crises and suggests other factors which may become more prevalent and significant in future crises. The StarLink incident delivers certain practical lessons for managers, regulators and others and demonstrates a number of characteristics of modern crises.

For this project I want to cheer my subconscious passion for animals and use them as inspiration and as a starting point. Animals are mostly interesting in the project when it comes to their surface and their structure. The work has been a development of structures and techniques in an experimental way of working with textiles and mixed media on garments. The aim is to explore how structures can form garments.Comparing to a traditional design process this work is explored by a reversed design method where the material are formed into shapes or modules and then put together as a garment. So the form has been secondary to the surface structure of the garments. It is also important that the collection urge viewers to touch and feel the structure and hopefully also encourage people to understand and get involved with the fabric and what it´s maid of. The work shows that structure in textile is a lot about levels and layers in the surface area. The investigation in the work is about creating a three-dimensional feeling that is almost like a landscape to explore. During the process it has been found that it´s a thin line between when the garment has a specific surface structure and when it is a garment decorated with modules of a certain material.For me this could be a neverending life project. A project that can continue into several outfits in various techniques and materials but the idea could be developed by putting up rules like using only waste material or material that has been given to you.

In order to help students find connections to the Core Knowledge curriculum and the principles of Discipline-Based Art Education, the author uses narrative and visual storytelling in the form of altered books to make meaning and relate the lives of students to the art content. The author uses methods of action research to plan a curriculum intervention, work with the students to create their visual stories, reflect on his instruction along with student learning, and collect students' responses through surveys. The author also gathers data through the students' journals and artworks. Through the project the author is able to give students choices and help them turn their learning environment into art practice. Ultimately, the author improves and develops his teaching practice as a result of this project.

Subsidiary mother cell (SMC) divisions during stomatal complex formation in Zea mays are asymmetric generating a small subsidiary cell (SC) and a larger epidermal cell. Mutants with a high number of abnormally shaped subsidiary cells include the brick1 (brk1) and discordia1 (dcd1) mutants. BRK1 is homologous to HSPC300, an ARP2/3 complex activator, and is involved in actin nucleation while DCD1 is a regulatory subunit of the PP2A phosphatase needed for microtubule generation (Frank and Smith, 2002; Wright et al. 2009). Possible causes of the abnormal SCs in brk1 mutants include a failure of the SMC nucleus to polarize in advance of mitosis, no actin patch, and transverse and/or no PPBs (Gallagher and Smith, 2000; Panteris et al 2006). The abnormal subsidiary mother cell division in dcd1 is due to correctly localized, but disorganized preprophase bands (PPBs; Wright et al. 2009). The observation that brk1 has defects in PPB formation and that the dcd1 phenotype is enhanced by the application of actin inhibitors led us to examine the dcd1; brk1 double mutant (Gallagher and Smith, 1999). We found that dcd1; brk1 double mutants demonstrate a higher percentage of aberrant SCs than the single mutants combined suggesting that these two mutations have a synergistic and additive effect on SC formation. Our observations and results are intriguing and the future step will be to quantitate the abnormal PPBs and phragmoplasts in the double and single mutants using immunolocalization of tubulin and actin as well as observations of live cells expressing tubulin-YFP.

Aims: To investigate the systemic circumstances required for mental health professionals to engage in the core processes of evidence based practice. Background: Successful evidence based practice is the function of inter-related processes including knowledge acquisition, generation, and application, which occur in complex and dynamic circumstances. Dominant models and approaches to facilitating the use of knowledge in practice by health professionals remain based on linear, technical processes which aim to instigate behavioural changes at the individual level. Emergent conceptualisations argue the need for strategies that consider systemic factors which can impede or facilitate the processes underpinning the operation of evidence based practices in mental health. As yet no efforts have been made to actively apply systems thinking in efforts to improve evidence based practice in mental health. Method: A collective case-study research design was developed by adapting Soft Systems Methodology. Three cases were examined, each selected due to their ability to provide information about one of the core processes under investigation; knowledge acquisition, knowledge generation and knowledge application. Data was collected iteratively from thirteen participants through focus groups and semi-structured interviews. Analysis was undertaken through the inductive open coding of data into sub-categories, following which key categories were identified and considered against individual, group and organisational systems levels. Findings: This study identified twenty-four key categories across the cases and located these against the three systems levels. As anticipated, complex dynamic interactions between different elements at the different levels were identified including, the role of motivation, perception and skill at the individual level, the importance of team wisdom, support and decision making, and the need for organisations to provide adequate infrastructures, ensure access to specialist expertise and a number of elements contributing to a culture of space and support for evidence based practice.

Science and Art are two concepts that have been greatly evolved throughout history, mainly due to cultural evolution experienced by humanity itself. Science, in its primitive stage, as synonymous of knowledge, preceded the Arts. However, according to its current concept considered as a result of the proposed method, by Francis Bacon, it is a recent phenomenon when compared to the period of human existence on Earth. Thus, Art preceded Science, because from its beginning it always configured as such, despite the different ways in which it has been presented. This is why the term Arts is used instead of Art. Among the Sciences, separated as Natural Sciences and Humanities, Physics stands out, even in the primitive stage of science, always referred to Nature as a whole, justifying its etymology Physics, the Greek Physis that means Nature and, according to available records, developed with the Arts since prehistory. In this context, this work, which presents a brief history of the evolution of perception and color reproduction by man, has as main attribute a study of the concept of color, pigment and light as taking Physics as a foundation, according to the branch of knowledge called Optics. From a literature search, the author s and other expert s experiences, both in Arts and in Science in General, an approach of Arts and Physics is presented, in terms of interdisciplinarity that exists between the color theme and concepts of physical optics, as one of the branches of this science. Records used are based on works that still exist, such as cave paintings and paintings in other processes, frescoes and sculptures, as well as the bibliography, documents preserved in museums, libraries and cultural venues, and statements from researchers, due to their own works. It was also included in this compilation the development of some technics of color reproduction, both in pictorial art, using pigments, as in architectural lightening projects, fabrication of transparent and colored glasses and at photographic, cinematographic and digital arts from light sources, in its different ways of generation and applications.
Ciência e Arte são dois conceitos que mudaram muito ao longo da história, sobretudo, em decorrência da própria evolução cultural vivida pela humanidade. A Ciência, em seu estágio primitivo, como sinônimo de conhecimento, antecedeu a Arte, todavia, segundo sua concepção atual, em razão da proposta do Método, por Francis Bacon, é algo recente em comparação ao tempo de existência do ser humano na Terra. E, nesse sentido, a Arte antecedeu a Ciência, pois desde o seu princípio ela sempre se configurou como tal, não obstante as várias formas com as quais se apresentou, por isso, por diversas vezes menciona-se Artes ao invés de Arte. No rol das Ciências, agrupadas em Ciências Naturais e Ciências Humanas, destaca-se a Física, que mesmo no estágio primitivo das ciências, referiu-se sempre à Natureza como um todo, justificando sua própria etimologia Física, do Grego, Physis que significa Natureza e, deste modo, de acordo com os registros disponíveis, acompanha as Artes desde a Pré-história. Neste contexto, o presente trabalho, que apresenta um breve histórico da evolução da percepção e da reprodução das cores pelo homem, tem como principal atributo um estudo do conceito de cor, como pigmento e como luz, tendo a Física como alicerce, de acordo com o ramo de conhecimentos denominado Óptica. A partir de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, de experiências do autor e de outros especialistas, tanto nas Artes como nas Ciências em Geral, proporcionou-se uma ampla abordagem das Artes e da Física, em termos da interdisciplinaridade que se verifica entre o tema Cor e os conceitos físicos da Óptica, como um dos ramos desta ciência. Os registros utilizados são fundamentados por obras ainda existentes, desde o tempo das pinturas rupestres até a contemporaneidade, em seus diversos processos, incluindo objetos tridimensionais, como esculturas, dentre outros. Esta fundamentação inclui também a bibliografia, documentos localizados em museus, espaços culturais e bibliotecas, bem como depoimentos de pesquisadores, em função de seus respectivos trabalhos. Contempla-se ainda a evolução de algumas técnicas de reprodução de cores, tanto na Arte Pictórica, com o uso de pigmentos, como na iluminação de ambientes, produção de vidros incolores e coloridos e a Arte Fotográfica, Cinematográfica e Digital, a partir de fontes de luz, em suas diversas formas de obtenção e de algumas aplicações.

Here, we present a study of polar residues within the membrane core of alpha-helical membrane proteins. As expected, polar residues are less frequent in the membrane than expected. Further, most of these residues are buried within the interior of the protein and are only rarely exposed to lipids. However, the polar groups often border internal water filled cavities, even if the rest of the sidechain is buried. A survey of their functional roles in known structures showed that the polar residues are often directly involved in binding of small compounds, especially in channels and transporters, but other functions including proton transfer, catalysis, and selectivity have also been attributed to these proteins. Among the polar residues histidines often interact with prosthetic groups in photosynthetic-and oxidoreductase-related proteins, whereas pro-lines often are required for conformational changes of the proteins. Indeed, the polar residues in the membrane core are more conserved than other residues in the core, as well as more conserved than polar residues outside the membrane. The reason is twofold; they are often (i) buried in the interior of the protein and (ii) directly involved in the function of the proteins. Finally, a method to identify which polar residues are present within the membrane core directly from protein sequences was developed. Applying the method to the set of all human membrane proteins the prediction indicates that polar residues were most frequent among active transporter proteins and GPCRs, whereas infrequent in families with few transmembrane regions, such as non-GPCR receptors. During the last decade, Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) provided by ARM TrustZone had become one of the most popular techniques to build security on mobile devices. On a TrustZone-enabled system, the software can execute in either Secure World (trusted) and Normal World (untrusted). Meanwhile, along with the expeditious development of TrustZone technology, the security of TEE is also challenged by dealing with more and more on-board hardware and in-TEE applications. In this dissertation, we explicitly study the security of ARM TrustZone technology with the latest ARM architecture in three aspects. First, we study the security of the TrustZone-assisted asynchronous introspection. Previously, asynchronous introspection mechanisms have been developed in the secure world to detect security policy violations in the normal world. However, we identify a new normal-world evasion attack that can defeat the asynchronous introspection by removing the attacking traces in parallel from one core when the secure-world checking is performing on another core. As the countermeasure, we propose a trustworthy asynchronous introspection mechanism called SATIN, which can effectively prevent evasion attacks with a minor system overhead by increasing the attackers' evasion time cost and decreasing the defender's inspecting time. Second, we design an ARM TrustZone-assisted connectivity mechanism, called TZNIC, to enable the secure world's access to network even at the presence of a malicious OS. TZNIC deploys two NIC drivers, one secure-world driver, and one normal-world driver, that multiplex one physical NIC. We utilize the ARM TrustZone high-privilege to protect the secure-world driver, and further resolve several challenges about sharing one set of hardware peripheral between two isolated software environments. The evaluation shows that TZNIC can provide a reliable network channel for the secure world. Third, we investigate the memory-safety of secure-world trusted applications. Though the existing TrustZone hardware focuses on protecting the application's confidentiality and integrity from malicious accesses of the normal world, there is little the secure world can do when the inside applications contain vulnerabilities and further get exploited by the normal world. To enhance the security of the secure-world application, we propose RusTEE, a TrustZone-based SDK that enables the development of trusted applications in the memory-safe programming language Rust. RusTEE can utilize the built-in security checks of Rust to mitigate all memory-corruption vulnerabilities for trusted applications. Besides, we enhance the trusted application's security by enforcing the memory-safety on its invocations of system-service APIs and cross-world communication channels.

Mindfulness is a core component of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), a widely utilized treatment for borderline personality disorder (BPD); however, the import of mindfulness in treating BPD has yet to be demonstrated, and the relationship of mindfulness to BPD constructs is unclear. The current study utilized structural equation modeling to examine the relations of mindfulness with BPD features and the underlying constructs of interpersonal problem-solving effectiveness, impulsivity, emotion regulation strategies, and neuroticism in 342 young adults. Mindfulness was significantly related to effectiveness in interpersonal problem-solving, impulsivity and passivity in emotion regulation, and borderline features. Furthermore, mindfulness continued to predict borderline features when controlling for interpersonal problem-solving and impulsive/passive emotion-regulation strategies, as well as when controlling for neuroticism. It is concluded that difficulties with mindfulness may represent a core feature of BPD and that improvement in mindfulness may be a key component of treatment efficacy with BPD. It is recommended that the unique contribution of mindfulness be investigated in future treatment-outcome research.

A presente dissertação trata de três ciclos de trabalhos poéticos realizados entre 2009-2012 (vermelho, verde e cinza-cor-de-pele). A vivência do corpo com a cor nos três ciclos fez emergir, a partir de tonalidades e de balizas estipuladas a priori, processos de sensibilização do corpo no cotidiano, que foram entendidos em si como poética, bem como geraram desdobramentos: pinturas, objetos, ações... Nos ciclos, importaram as transformações que aconteceram no corpo, nas obras e num certo entre. Onde o dentro e o fora se encontram? O que separa um corpo do outro? No embate direto com a matéria, com o pigmento, a percepção tátil-visual foi ativada e, neste texto, entendida como chave conceitual para uma abordagem do corpo do artista nas artes visuais. Tal estudo deu-se principalmente a partir da Fenomenologia da Percepção de Maurice Merleau-Ponty, da Doutrina das Cores de Joahnn Wolfgang Goethe, do infra-mince descoberto por Marcel Duchamp e do Corpo do Artesão descrito por Pamela H. Smith. Além do estudo teórico, foram analisadas obras e manifestações culturais como auxílio reflexivo para toda a pesquisa: a pintura corporal do rito de passagem dos meninos da nação Kadiwéu, as Antropometrias da Fase Azul de Yves Klein e a performance e instalação Roda dos Prazeres de Lygia Pape. Ainda, fazem parte desta dissertação duas entrevistas com artistas que têm a cor e a atitude corporal diante do fazer artístico como foco de seus trabalhos.
This essay analyzes three cycles of poetic works made between 2009-2012 (red, green and skin-gray color). The interaction of color and body in the three cycles emerged from hues and goals stipulated a priori, affecting the behavior of the body, what was perceived as poetry, in that they stimulated paintings, actions, objects... The main focuses of attention in each cycle were the transformations that took place in the body, in the pieces and somewhere inbetween. Where the inside and the outside toutch each other? What separates one body from the other? In direct confrontation with materials, with pigments, the visual-tactile perception was activated and, in this text, understood as a conceptual key of the artist\'s body in the visual-art\'s field. The conceptual approach was mainly driven by the Phenomenology of Perception by Maurice Merleau-Ponty, the Theo-ry of Colors by Joahnn Wolfgang Goethe, the infra-mince discovered by Marcel Duchamp and the Body of the Artisan described by Pamela H. Smith. Besides the theoretical study, were analyzed some works and cultural manifestations: body painting of the rite of passage for boys in the nation Kadiwéu, the Antropometries of the Blue Períod by Yves Klein and the performance and installation Roda dos Prazeres of Lygia Pape. Still part of this dissertation, two interviews with artists that have the color and human attitude as artistic focus.

Esta dissertação trata de como a pintura, no decorrer do século XX, deixou de ser vista como um espaço virtual, ilusionista, para ser concebida em sua literalidade, como uma superfície plana. Esta pesquisa tem dois resultados distintos: a produção, entre 2009 e 2011, de uma série de pinturas e o desenvolvimento de um texto. O texto, por sua vez, é dividido em duas partes: na primeira, apresento e procuro analisar minha obra pictórica recente, e na segunda, desenvolvo, em três capítulos, reflexões sobre a relação entre o espaço da pintura, o espaço do teatro e o espaço dos objetos comuns, destacando a influência que os readymades de Marcel Duchamp e o minimalismo norte-americano exercem sobre a pintura contemporânea. This dissertation discusses how the art of painting, during the twentieth century, ceases to be seen as a virtual illusionist space, to be conceived in a literal way, as a flat surface. This research has two distinct outcomes: the production of a series of paintings (between 2009 and 2011) and also the development of a text. The text, in turn, is divided in two parts: in the first part I present and try to analyze my recent pictorial work; in the second part, which is divided in three chapters, I reflect upon the relationship between the space of painting, the theater space and the space of common objects, highlighting the influence of Marcel Duchamp’s readymades and North-American minimal art on contemporary painting. Sin referentes a los que referirnos, fragmentados, al devaluarse el poder hablar, el poder significar, el sujeto es el último escollo, el último obstáculo que eliminar, que erradicar para vencer lo impredecible y así eliminar la duda, el consumo de la tecnología digital desencadena una seria de procesos conductuales y cognitivos que coronan el paradigma del control. Como alternativa a la sumisión del dígito, que nos convierte en objetos que hemos de encajar en una variable predeterminada, se plantea la metáfora, entendida como puente con una mirada que trasciende y prescinde del determinismo positivista actual, recomponiéndonos, no para encasillarnos de nuevo en el sujeto aislado, narcisista, vulnerable, sino para creer en la persona que experimenta e interactúa con lo otro. Plantearnos las consecuencias del uso de la tecnología digital, nos lleva a preguntarnos por aquellas prácticas artísticas que se sirven de la misma, y si con su difusión favorecen nuestra descomposición, convirtiéndonos en meros objetos a ser analizados, impidiendo una mirada metafórica, mirada intrínseca a cualquier práctica artística. La presente tesis pretende mediar el marco de diálogo que nos restituya como personas, garantizando la presencia de quien experimenta la experiencia, alejándonos del refugio digital.

Aujourd'hui, diverses propositions artistiques se fondent sur la rencontre entre l'artiste et le spectateur. Mettant en relation réflexion et création, cette thèse vise à étudier le contact en tant que geste créateur-générateur d'œuvre avec l'autre. Grâce aux liens qui se tissent entre le toucher, le corps, le tact, l'accueil, l'étranger, la famille et aussi grâce à l'apport des philosophies traditionnelles (amérindiennes et orientales), on découvre que, à rebours d'une société qui encourage l'individualisme et la consommation, revenir au geste du contact offre une manière différente d'expérimenter l'art -et la vie- dans un respect de l'autre et de soi-même. L'interdépendance apparaît alors comme une règle de vie commune et le contact comme un « moyen-remède » pour combler, améliorer ou guérir la dysharmonie dans nos rapports au monde extérieur. Mon projet Con-facto privilégie ainsi une expérience du corps et du toucher (tactile ou relationnel) conscient, laissant surgir une nouvelle esthétique fondée sur une idée de beauté, d'harmonie et d'équilibre dans« l'être avec»
Many recent artistic projects explore the encounter between the artist and his audience. Interconnecting creation and analysis, this thesis studies contact as a gesture of creation-workmanship with another. Thanks to the ties that bind touch, body, tact, strangers and family, with support from (Asian and Native American) traditional philosophies, we realize that, while our society promotes individualism and consumerism, coming back to the gesture of contact offers a different way of experimenting art -and life- white respecting both the other and oneself. Therefore, interdependency can be viewed as a rule of life in community, and contact as a "mean/cure" to alleviate, improve or heal disharmony in our interactions with the outside world. Through experience of the body and of conscious touch (tactile or relational), my project, Con-facto, unveils a new esthetic based upon the idea of beauty, harmony and balance in "being with"

Resumo: Apresento ao leitor um conjunto de ensaios interpretativos que tomam forma de diálogo com as imagens e elaborações poéticas do artista armênio Serguei Paradjanov. Para fins deste trabalho, nos concentramos em seu filme A cor da romã (1968-1969) e em sua produção plástica que vai de 1967 aos dois anos que antecedem sua morte, em 1990. O conjunto dos textos elabora a idéia estética do pastiche e almeja remontá-la como procedimento metodológico sugerido pela poética própria da obra deste artista. Busquei estudar os elementos cênicos apresentados e sua interação em caleidoscópio, a peculiaridade de seus enquadramentos e planejamentos de cena, percorri seu olhar até que enxergasse no invisível da arte de suas memórias e da memória dos recursos técnicos utilizados. Foi desse modo que tentei, com imaginação e conhecimento, apresentar uma interpretação verossímil e crível, não cronológica e cuja escrita buscasse sincronicidade com a obra e sua forma de apresentação.
Abstract: I present to the reader a set of interpretative essays that take the form of a dialogue with the images and poetic elaborations of the Armenian artist Serguei Paradjanov. For purposes of this paper, we focus in his movie "The Color of Pomegranates" (1968-1969) and in his plastic production from 1967 to two years before his death, in 1990. The set of texts elaborates the esthetics idea of pastiche and aims to rebuild it as the methodological procedure suggested by the artist own poetic art. I sought to study the scenic elements presented and their interaction in kaleidoscope, the peculiarity of its framework and the scene planning, I went through his look until I could see the invisible of the art in his memories and the memories of the technical resources used. In this way I tried, with imagination and knowledge, to present a believable and credible interpretation, not chronological and whose writing sought synchronicity with the work and his way to present it.

La ricerca è costituita dal tentativo di realizzare una mappatura delle attività del Piccolo Teatro di Milano relative alle strategie di relazione con il pubblico, tanto in termini di formazione dello spettatore quanto di concezione dello stesso come elemento partecipe di una comunità. Sono stati presi in esame tre distinti nuclei, in parte sovrapponibili a tre fasi della storia del teatro milanese ed esemplificativi di differenti tipologie di azione. 1) Fondazione del Piccolo Teatro e il background progettuale che la precede, analizzata attraverso i contributi giornalistici di Paolo Grassi e Giorgio Strehler, in cui vengono esplicitate le linee guida che si concretizzeranno del progetto anche con largo anticipo rispetto al 1947; 2) Iniziative di contatto e creazione di un rapporto con il pubblico attuate negli anni Sessanta, considerate in parallelo con le grandi polemiche di stampo extra-teatrale che a partire dall'attività del Piccolo Teatro coinvolgono l'ambiente culturale e politico intorno al tema dell'autonomia artistica; 3) Sviluppo di una presenza digitale costituita dagli spazi promozionali/informativi (sito web), relazionali (social network) e didattico/divulgativi (archivio multimediale).
The aim of this research is to create a map of all the strategies of “Piccolo Teatro di Milano” related to theatre/audience relationship, about audience education and belonging of the spectator to the community. Three distinct units have been taken into examination, and these are partially superimposable on three historical periods of Piccolo Teatro's history, and are examples of different methods of action. 1) Foundation of “Piccolo Teatro di Milano”, and the planning background that precedes it, analyzed through the various newspaper articles by Paolo Grassi and Giorgio Strehler. In these articles, the major project guidelines are explained sooner than 1947; 2) Initiatives concerning the contact with a main audience, and creation of a connection with said audience, in the contemporary era of the Sixties. This has to be taken into consideration together with the great protest of an extra-theater context, that starting from the activity of the Piccolo Teatro, involve both the cultural and political milieu which surrounded the independence of artistic activity; 3) Development of a web activity, through social networks, websites and digital archives.

As Moore`s law continues to reduce the cost of computation at an exponential rate, embedded computing capabilities spread to ever-expanding application scenarios, such as smartphones, the Internet of Things, and automation, among many others. This trend has naturally caused the underlying technology to evolve and has introduced increasingly complex microarchitectures into embedded processors in attempts to optimize for performance. While other microarchitectures, like those used in personal computers, have been extensively studied, there has been relatively less research done on embedded microarchitectures. This is especially true in terms of their security, which is growing more important as widespread adoption increases. This thesis explores an undocumented cache behavior found in ARM Cortex processors that we call implicit cache lockdown. While it was presumably implemented for performance reasons, it has a large impact on the recently popular class of cybersecurity attacks that utilize cache-timing side-channels. These attacks leverage the underlying hardware, specifically, the small timing differences between algorithm executions due to CPU caches, to glean sensitive information from a victim process. Since the affected processors are found in an overwhelming majority of smart phones, this sensitive information can include cryptographic secrets, credit card information, and passwords. As the name implies, implicit cache lockdown limits the ability for an attacker to evict certain data from a CPU`s cache. Since this is precisely what known cache-timing attacks rely on, they are rendered ineffective in their current form. This thesis analyzes implicit cache lockdown in great detail, including the methodology we used to discover it, its implications on all existing cache-timing attacks, and how it can be circumvented by an attacker.

Stomata are specialized plant structures required for gaseous exchange with the outer environment. During stomata formation, the cytoskeleton plays an important role in controlling the division of the individual cells leading to the generation of the stomata complex. Two mutants that affect microfilament and microtubule organization in subsidiary mother cells include brk1 and dcd1. While only 20% of the subsidiary cells in the brk1 and dcd1 single mutants are abnormally shaped, it was reported that there is a synergistic effect between the brk1 and dcd1 mutations in the brk1; dcd1 double mutant since 100% of the subsidiary cells are abnormal. The focus of this research is to try to understand this synergistic effect by investigating the actin cytoskeleton and nuclear position in the single and double mutants. The reported results include the observation that the size of actin patch was largest in the wild-type subsidiary mother cells (SMCs) and smallest in dcd1 and brk1; dcd1 SMCs and that brk1 and brk1; dcd1 double mutants had fewer actin patches than wild-type and dcd1 SMCs. Additionally, we observed that some SMCs that did not have actin patches still underwent nuclear migration suggesting that nuclear migration may not be solely dependent on actin patch formation. Finally, during SMC cytokinesis, a large percentage of double mutant (brk1; dcd1) cells showed an off-track development of the phragmoplast as compared to the single mutants and the wild-type plant explaining the large number of abnormally shaped subsidiary cells in the double mutants.

Baigiamajame magistro darbe nagrinėjama Vilniaus Paupio ir Palaujos istorinio priemiesčio urbanistinė erdvinė struktūra ir su ja susijusios urbanistinės plėtros problemos. Tyrinėjama Vilniaus centrinės dalies kokybinė funkcinių-kompozicinių urbanizacijos branduolių sistemos plėtra. Apžvelgiama Paupio ir Plaujos teritorijos istorinė raida, identifikuojami esami vertingi struktūros elementai ir lokalizuojamos rekonstrukcijos zonos, vertinamas galimos plėtros poveikis vizualiniam Vilniaus miesto centrinės dalies identitetui. Remiantis atliktomis analizėmis ir teritorijos dalies kaip įvaizdžio mazgo potencialu, pateikiamos nagrinėjamos teritorijos erdvinio karkaso plėtros alternatyvos. Apžvelgus pramoninių teritorijų konversijos problematiką ir galimybes, pagal pasirinktą alternatyvą parengta Paupio ir Paplaujos teritorijos konversijos ir daugiafunkcinio centro koncepcija. Daugiafunkcinis centras sprendžiamas kaip funkcinė jungtis tarp dviejų struktūrinių urbanistinių teritorijų per fizinį barjerą – Zarasų gatvę. Darbo pabaigoje pateikiamos išvados ir siūlymai.
The final thesis examines the historic suburb of Paupys and Paplauja in Vilnius urban spatial structure and the associated urban development problems. The qualitative, functional composite urbanized core system development of the central part of Vilnius is examined. A survey of historical urban development is made, identified existing valuable elements of spatial structure, localized areas of reconstruction, analyzed possibilities and results of further development, evaluated the potential development of the visual impact of the central part of Vilnius city identity. According to the analysis and part of the territory's image as a potential host, strategic alternatives of urban spatial structure development in the territory are proposed. A review of the problems and opportunities of conversion of industrial sites revealed the concept of the urban development of territory and multi-center. Further work was made on compositional quality of urban spaces and detailing of multi-center. In the end conclusions and proposals were made.

How do we as art educators help adolescents maintain artistic creation as a way of visual expression? This study reviews artistic approaches among kindergarten through eighth grade students as they relate to the U-curve model of development (Davis, 1997; Pariser & van den Berg, 1997). As an art educator, my observation has been that as students approach seventh and eighth grades they lose confidence in their art making abilities as they try to draw in a realistic manner. When asked if they think they are artists, most are certain that they are not. This lack in confidence is in stark contrast to the lower elementary students, who when asked the same question, are certain that they are artists and create in an uninhibited manner. The problem addressed in this thesis is the decline in artistic confidence in older children and ways we as art educators can help adolescents maintain artistic creation as visual expression. A survey was conducted in response to this problem that explored the artistic approaches of kindergarten through eighth grade students to address the decline of artistic activity in older children. This survey included questionnaires that were given to the seventh and eighth grade students I taught to help answer the question as to why adolescents become more inhibited and lose the desire to create art the same way they did when they were younger. The questionnaires were given to each student before and after the Core Knowledge based art curriculum asking students if they thought they were artists and how confident they were in making art. The findings showed a measurable increase in students' self-confidence as artists after experiencing a Core Knowledge based art curriculum. A review of current textbooks revealed that not enough curricula which included contemporary practices were included in many elementary and secondary art programs. Only 2 percent of the art textbooks examined included units that dealt with contemporary art and postmodern practices after 1980. Much is being taught in art history and the historical functions of art, leaving large gaps in contemporary art and postmodern practices. A Core Knowledge based art curriculum was designed in response to the ostensible demise of art making as a way of visual expression in adolescent children. Historical practices bridged with contemporary practices such as appropriation, Conceptual art, and Installation art are included in the curriculum and designed to boost students' confidence and interest in artistic creation. A Core Knowledge based art curriculum for seventh and eighth grades consists of three units: Pre-modern, Modern, and Postmodern. Three periods of time, the Renaissance, High Modernism, and Contemporary art are covered within these units. The first two lesson units, the Renaissance and High Modernism, lead up to the Contemporary art unit which includes Conceptual art and culminates in an installation piece. Each unit contains two lesson plans. The first lesson in each unit covers historical aspects of that particular era, and the second lesson ties current practices with the historical content of each specific unit. Within each unit, students explore different ways of making art through appropriation, borrowing ideas, Conceptual art, and Installation art. As students build on various concepts and learn new ways to make art, they are more able to sustain artistic creation as visual expression through new methods and materials. The three lesson units included in the Core Knowledge based curriculum are not only designed to sustain artistic creation and help students to gain self-confidence in their own abilities, but also to gain a better understanding of the contemporary art world around them. Students' understandings are broadened as they learn about the artists and art movements from previous eras and their connections to artists, ideas, and art movements today.

Antecedentes: El virus Encefalomiocarditis (V-EMC) pertenece al género Cardiovirus; familia Picornaviridae. El virus EMC infecta muchas especies de animales incluyendo cerdos, roedores, ganado vacuno, elefantes, mapaches, marsupiales y primates como monos, chimpancés y humanos. Ratas y ratones son hospederos naturales del virus y pasa a otras especies por transmisión fecal-oral. En roedores, V-EMC causa lesiones en el corazón, páncreas, sistema nervioso central. Objetivos: En el presente trabajo se presento el rol potencial que juegan lo roedores como reservorios en la transmisión del virus EMC en el Perú. Materiales y Métodos: Muestras sanguíneas de 497 roedores pertenecientes a 23 especies (298 Murinae y 199 Sigmodontinae) capturados en 10 diferentes departamentos del Perú. Cada muestra sanguínea fue procesada para buscar anticuerpos de tipo IgG contra V-EMC mediante el Ensayo Inmuno Enzimático (EIA) usando antígenos preparados del virus recuperado de uno de los casos humanos en el Perú (IQD 7626). Los positivos fueron evaluados por la técnica de Reacción en Cadena de la Polimerasa (PCR). Resultados: de los 497 roedores, un total de 30 muestras de 5 especies fueron positivas: 4 (29%) de 14 Rattus norvegicus, seguido por 19 (13%) de 151 R. rattus, 5(4%) de 133 Mus musculus, 1 (3.8%) de 26 Phyllotis limatus y 1 (4%) de 25 Akodon molli. Los roedores positivos hallados fueron en los departamentos: Cajamarca, Lambayeque, Madre de Dios, Moquegua, Tacna, Tumbes y Piura. Solo 2 de 199 roedores del Nuevo mundo evaluados mostraron evidencia de infección con V-EMC.
Antecedents: Encephalomyocarditis virus (EMCV) belongs to the genus Cardiovirus; family Picornaviridae. The EMC virus infects many animal species including pigs, rodents, cattle, elephants, raccoons, marsupials, and primates such as baboons, monkeys, chimpanzees and humans. Rats and mice are the natural hosts of the virus, passing the virus to other species through fecal-oral transmission. In rodents, EMCV causes lesions in the heart, pancreas and central nervous system. Objectives: Herein is presented findings from our investigation of the potential role played by rodents as a reservoir for the transmission of the EMC virus in Peru. Materials and methods: We tested serum from 497 rodents representing 23 species (298 Murinae and 199 Sigmodontinae) captured from 10 different departments of Peru. Each serum specimen was tested for IgG class antibodies to ECMV by enzyme immunoassay (EIA) using antigen prepared from virus recovered from a human case (IQD 6726). All positives were evaluated by PCR test. Results: From 497 rodents a total of 30 sera from 5 species were positive: 4 (29%) of 14 Rattus norvegicus, followed by 19 (13%) of 151 R. rattus, 5(4%) of 133 Mus musculus, 1 (3.8%) of 26 Phyllotis limatus and 1 (4%) of 25 Akodon molli. Positive rodents were collected from 7 departments: Cajamarca, Lambayeque, Madre de Dios, Moquegua, Tacna, Tumbes and Piura. La tesi indaga l’esperienza del teatro comunitario, una delle espressioni artistiche più originali e pressoché sconosciute nel panorama teatrale novecentesco, che ha avuto in Argentina un punto di riferimento fondamentale. Questo fenomeno, che oggi conta cinquanta compagnie dal nord al sud del paese latinoamericano, e qualcuna in Europa, affonda le sue radici nella Buenos Aires della post-dittatura, in una società che continua a risentire degli esiti del terrore di Stato. Il teatro comunitario nasce dalla necessità di un gruppo di persone di un determinato quartiere di riunirsi in comunità e comunicare attraverso il teatro, con l'obiettivo di costruire un significato sociale e politico. La prima questione messa a fuoco riguarda la definizione della categoria di studio: quali sono i criteri che consentono di identificare, all’interno della molteplicità di pratiche teatrali collettive, qualcosa di sicuramente riconducibile a questo fenomeno. Nel corso dell’indagine si è rivelata fondamentale la comprensione dei conflitti dell’esperienza reale e l’individuazione dei caratteri comuni, al fine di procedere a un esercizio di generalizzazione. La ricerca ha imposto la necessità di comprendere i meccanismi mnemonici e identitari che hanno determinato e, a loro volta, sono stati riattivati dalla nascita di questa esperienza. L’analisi, supportata da studi filosofici e antropologici, è volta a comprendere come sia cambiata la percezione della corporeità in un contesto di sparizione dei corpi, dove il lavoro sulla memoria riguarda in particolare i corpi assenti (desaparecidos). L’originalità del tema ha imposto la riflessione su un approccio metodologico in grado di esercitare una adeguata funzione euristica, e di fungere da modello per studi futuri. Sono stati pertanto scavalcati i confini degli studi teatrologici, con particolare attenzione alle svolte culturali e storiche che hanno preceduto e affiancato l’evoluzione del fenomeno.
The thesis investigates the community theater experience as one of the most original and least known artistic expressions of the 20th century theater scene, which had a fundamental reference point in Argentina. To date this phenomenon, which counts fifty companies all over Latin America and some in Europe, has its roots in post-dictatorship Buenos Aires, in a society that continues to be affected by State Terror. Community theatre came to light from the need of a group of neighbors to gather in community and communicate through theatre to build social and political meaning. The first issue is the definition of study category: what criteria allow to identify, within the multiplicity of collective theatre practices, something to clearly trace back to this phenomenon. During the investigation, essentials were the understanding of real experience conflicts and the identification of common traits in order to carry out generalization. Research has imposed the need to understand identitarian and mnemonic mechanisms that in turn determined and have been reactivated by the birth of this experience. The analysis, supported by studies in philosophy and anthropology, is intended to understand how the perception of corporeality changes in the context of the disappearance of the body, in particular where the work on memory concerns the absent bodies (desaparecidos). The uniqueness of the topic has imposed the research of a methodological approach suitable to exert an adequate heuristic function, and act as a model for future studies. Therefore, Theatrological studies boundaries were crossed, paying special attention to the cultural and historical turns that preceded and accompanied the phenomenon's evolution.

[ES] La investigación empieza con un análisis y cartografiado del sistema global del arte en la actualidad, así como la contextualización histórica del avance y desarrollo del concepto de arte asociado a la economía. El desarrollo del financiamiento de las artes y sus situación estructural es estudiado para poder analizar el fenómeno desde la perspectiva del materialismo dialéctico. La importancia de la economía radica en que es el motor del cambio en la percepción del arte entre su utilidad y un bien suntuario. Esta situación es relevante para establecer un vínculo entre la actividad artística y su relación social. Eso es lo que nos da las bases socio-económicas estructurales para ligarlo a la filosofía política anarquista. Estudiamos las características del pensamiento libertario desde las dos perspectivas, los clásicos anarquistas que dividían su pensamiento entre las cuatro ramas clásicas, el Anarquismo Individualista, el Anarquismo Comunista, el Anarquismo Sindicalista y el Mutualismo. Las cuatro vertientes del pensamiento ácrata contemporáneo Anarquismo Feminista, Anarquismo Cibernético, Anarquismo Ecologista y el Neo-zapatismo son estudiados para definir sus bases estructurales y los cambios al pensamiento clásico anarquista y nos ayuden a resolver las dinámicas de dichos cambios, para trasponerlos al estudio y práctica de las artes. Finalmente demostramos que las prácticas artísticas contemporáneas poseen el mismo espíritu de libertad que el pensamiento anarquista, una búsqueda constante por lo nuevo no puede darse dentro de los sistemas reconocidos o interpretados en el espacio-tiempo que define a los periodos artísticos. Ello lleva a los artistas a rebelarse de forma natural a los patrones existentes, no existirá nada nuevo dentro de lo conocido, y la transgresión se hace absolutamente necesaria. Esto comprueba la idea inicial de que la filosofía política anarquista posee las bases fundamentales para una creación artística, ambas son formas de alcanzar la libertad como forma de responsabilidad y el uso de la praxis como forma de conseguirla. Sentando así las bases teóricas para una de las posibles Teorías Anarquistas del Arte.
[CAT] La investigació comença amb una anàlisi i cartografiat de el sistema global de l'art en l'actualitat, així com la contextualització històrica de l'avanç i desenvolupament del concepte d'art associat a l'economia. El desenvolupament de l'finançament de les arts i els seus situació estructural és estudiat per poder analitzar el fenomen des de la perspectiva de l'materialisme dialèctic. La importància de l'economia radica que és el motor de l'canvi en la persepción de l'art entre la seva utilitat i un bé sumptuari. Aquesta situació és rellevant per establir un vincle entre l'activitat artística i la seva relació social. Això és el que ens dóna les bases socio-econòmiques estructurals per lligar-ho a la filosofia política anaquista. Estudiem les característiques de la pensada liebrtario des de les dues perspectives, els clàssics anarquistes que dividien el seu pensament entre les quatre branques clàssiques, l'Anarquisme Individualista, l'Anarquisme Comunista, l'anarquisme Sindicalista i el mutualisme. Les quatre vessants de la pensada àcrata contemporani Anarquisme Feminista, Anaquismo Cibernètic, Anarquisme ecologista i el Neozapatismo són estudiats per definir les seves bases estructurals i els canvis a la pensada clàssic anarquista i ens ajudin a resoldre les dinàmiques d'aquests canvis, per traspolarlos a l'estudi i pràctica de les arts. Finalment vam demostrar que les pràctiques artístiques contemporànies posseeixen el mateix espírutu de llibertat que el pensament anarquista, una recerca constant per la novetat no pot donar-se dins dels sistemes reconeguts o interprestados en l'espai-temps que defineix els períodes artístics. Això porta als artistes a rebel·lar de forma natural als patrons existents, no hi haurà res de nou dins del conegut, i la transgressió es fa absolutament necessària. Això comprova la idea incial que la filosofia política anarquista posseeix les bases fonamentals per a una creació artística, ambdues són formes d'aconseguir la llibertat com a forma de responsabilitat i l'ús de la praxi com a forma d'aconseguir-la. Establint així les bases teòriques per a una de les possibles Teories Anarquistes de l'Art.
[EN] This thesis begins with an analysis and mapping of the global art system today. The historical contextualisation of the advancement and development of the concept of art which we associate with the economy. The development of arts financing and its structural situation is studied to analyse the phenomenon from the perspective of dialectical materialism. The importance of the economy is that it is the engine of change in the pursuit of art between its utility and luxury good. This situation is relevant to establish a link between artistic activity and their social relationship. This is what gives us the structural socio-economic bases to link it to the anarchist political philosophy. We study the characteristics of Anarchist thought from two perspectives, the classic anarchists who divided their thinking between the four classical branches, Individualist Anarchism, Communist Anarchism, Syndicalist anarchism and Mutualism. The four strands of contemporary anarchist thought. Feminist Anarchism, Cybernetic Anarchism, Ecological Anarchism and Neozapatism are studied to define their structural bases and changes to classical anarchist thought and help us to resolve the dynamics of such changes, to transfer them to the study and practice of the arts. Finally, we demonstrate that contemporary artistic practices have the same spirit of freedom as anarchist thought; a constant search for the new cannot take place within the systems recognized or interpreted in the space-time that defines artistic periods. This leads artists to naturally rebel against existing patterns, there will be nothing new within the known, and transgression is necessary. This proves the initial idea that anarchist political philosophy has the fundamental bases for artistic creation, both are ways of achieving freedom as a form of responsibility and the use of praxis as a way of achieving it. Thus laying the theoretical foundations for one of the possible Anarchist Theories of Art.

Resumen
To be inclusive, the Web needs published resources to be matched to individual users' needs and preferences for their perception and control. In a decade, this has not been achieved and many cannot make use of resources despite having appropriate facilities. This thesis argues that the necessary management of resources can be achieved with well-designed metadata. Demonstration and explanation of the accessibility problems, efforts to solve them and the current state of inaccessibility of Web resources, any resource that is available through the World Wide Web, is fundamental to the research. The author relies heavily on Dublin Core metadata as it is relatively easy to use; is probably the most populous metadata; can be managed with free software systems, and for commercial reasons. The research investigated what makes DC metadata, so apparently simple, powerful enough to be the most popular metadata because there is very little available that explains this. The thesis then documents the scientific view of metadata upon which effective use of metadata can be based in the context of accessibility. It argues, at a practical level, that metadata is essential and integral to any shift to an on-going process approach to accessibility. It contributes to the science of metadata in as much as it analyses, synthesizes, and articulates the characteristics of an essential infrastructure for a new approach to accessibility. The author argues in favour of an on-going process approach to accessibility of resources that supports continuous improvement of any given resource, not necessarily by the author of the resource, and not necessarily by design or with knowledge of the original author, by contributors who may be distributed globally. The thesis argues that the current dependence on production guidelines and post-production evaluation of resources as either universally accessible or otherwise, does not adequately provide for either the accessibility necessary for individuals or the continuous or evolutionary approach possible within the current Web environment. It argues that a distributed, social-networking view of the Web as interactive, combined with a social model of disability, given the management tools of machine-readable, interoperable AccessForAll metadata, as developed, can achieve the desired goals. It raises issues regarding its implementation in the distributed environment of the Web. Resumen
Para compreender a relação entre cor e fotografia, investiguei seus aspectos técnicos e poéticos. Aprofundando-me na pesquisa de importantes fotógrafos que trabalham com a cor, realizando uma série de entrevistas com os artistas estudados e especialistas na área e construindo uma prática artística pessoal, procuro mostrar nesta dissertação como a cor adquire autonomia, tornando-se elemento estrutural da obra.
To understand the relationship between color and photography, I investigated the technical and poetical aspects. Deepening in the researches about important photographers that work with color, making a series of interviews with the artists that had been studied and professionals from the area and building an artistic personal practice, I try to show in this dissertation how the color acquires autonomy becoming a structural element of the work.
