The nuclear behavior, vegetative incompatibility, and induction of basidiocarp formation and basidiospore germination of Inonotus andersonii was investigated. Safranin O-KOH and Hematoxylin stains were used to determine the number of nuclei in basidiospores, vegetative hyphae, and basidiocarp tissue.
