Resumen
In the last decade, the deployment of electric vehicles (EVs) has been largely promoted. This development has increased challenges in the power systems in the context of planning and operation due to the massive amount of recharge needed for EVs. Furthermore, EVs may also offer new opportunities and can be used to support the grid to provide auxiliary services. In this regard, and considering the research around EVs and power grids, this paper presents a chronological background review of EVs and their interactions with power systems, particularly electric distribution networks, considering publications from the IEEE Xplore database. The review is extended from 1973 to 2019 and is developed via systematic classification using key categories that describe the types of interactions between EVs and power grids. These interactions are in the framework of the power quality, study of scenarios, electricity markets, demand response, demand management, power system stability, Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) concept, and optimal location of battery swap and charging stations.

Resumen
This thesis presents an approach to design, specify, validate, verify, implement, and evaluate composed web/grid services. Web and grid services can be composed to create new services with complex behaviours. The BPEL (Business Process Execution Language) standard was created to enable the orchestration of web services, but there have also been investigation of its use for grid services. BPEL specifies the implementation of service composition but has no formal semantics; implementations are in practice checked by testing. Formal methods are used in general to define an abstract model of system behaviour that allows simulation and reasoning about properties. The approach can detect and reduce potentially costly errors at design time. CRESS (Communication Representation Employing Systematic Specification) is a domainindependent, graphical, abstract notation, and integrated toolset for developing composite web service. The original version of CRESS had automated support for formal specification in LOTOS (Language Of Temporal Ordering Specification), executing formal validation with MUSTARD (Multiple-Use Scenario Testing and Refusal Description), and implementing in BPEL4WS as the early version of BPEL standard. This thesis work has extended CRESS and its integrated tools to design, specify, validate, verify, implement, and evaluate composed web/grid services. The work has extended the CRESS notation to support a wider range of service compositions, and has applied it to grid services as a new domain. The thesis presents two new tools, CLOVE (CRESS Language-Oriented Verification Environment) and MINT (MUSTARD Interpreter), to respectively support formal verification and implementation testing. New work has also extended CRESS to automate implementation of composed services using the more recent BPEL standard WS-BPEL 2.0.

"A dynamic, distributive and heterogeneous authorization policy management framework". Thesis, 2007. http://library.cuhk.edu.hk/record=b6074374.

Texto completo
Resumen
Grid computing enables computers on different networks to share their resources in an organized way. Authorized users can deploy the resources as if they were in the same organization. This resource sharing environment is called a Virtual Organization (VOs). To enable an open Grid to support resource sharing between multiple heterogeneous VOs, an authorization policy management framework is required to support authorization for VOs using heterogeneous authorization systems. The challenges include dynamic Grid memberships, VO trust relationships, and heterogeneous authorization systems.
To solve these problems in a loose-coupling way, we propose a dynamic, distributive and heterogeneous authorization policy management framework. The framework is called Dynamic Policy Management Framework (DPMF). DPMF groups VOs of the same authorization systems to form a virtual cluster. Authorization policy management is divided into inter-cluster heterogeneous policy management, and intra-cluster homogeneous policy management. Inside a virtual cluster, the workloads of policy management can be distributed among the VOs according to their trust relationships. The Conflict Analysis with Partial Information (CAPI) mechanism is developed to make authorization decisions in open environments without complete policy information. A Heterogeneous Policy Management mechanism is developed for DPMF to support inter-cluster heterogeneous policy management.
Traditional authorization policy management frameworks work well in authorization for a single VO where the participating hosts agree to follow a global authorization system. However, they are not capable of authorization policy management for multiple VOs which deploys heterogeneous authorization systems.
