In my diploma thesis I deal with requirements analysis of a document management system and with designing a particular solution of these requirements for the document management module of the web based Inovio portal. In the first part I provide basic information about document management systems and I briefly describe, what palace in the company`s information system they take. Further I describe the Inovio portal, which is under development, and it`s application modules. The document management module is one of these modules and my thesis is contributing to its design. The second part is focused on functional and non-functional requirements on a document management system and on a web application. In this part the reader can find requirements analysis and specific designs of these requirements for the document management module of the Inovio portal.

This thesis is analysing some problems of visual communication and interpretation of visual information. It's focus on psychological, typographycal and colour aspects of document design. This thesis also includes some facts about an interpretation of information by the spectator. Introduction of this thesis points to the problems of corporate identity (and its components) and its conections with psychology and design. Then chapters with a bacic knowledge of typography, psychology, composititon design and color therory are defined. These chapters bring theoretical principles, applicable in corporate design. The last chapter defines the redesign of the corporate visual style and through some examples of the practice shows its conections with the theoretical knowledge described in this thesis.

Reading old handwritten documents can be a real challenge for genealogists, especially as some documents in Sweden are written in the old German alphabet that is not used today. Much research has been done on how to enable computers to read old handwritten documents, but computers have so far not reached the level of reading that expert humans have. The focus seems to be on the computers reading the document with or without the help of human experts, with the aim of making the documents available in easily read form. I have, however, not found any research on how computers can help non-expert humans trying to read handwritten documents. In this project I have focused especially on beginning genealogists as reading gets easier with practice, and you need the help more in the beginning.By conducting interviews and observations with genealogists I established that reading is an issue and that there are many factors involved that make it difficult to read. Among the factors that make it difficult to read are handwriting, foreign alphabet, unknown words and old-fashioned spelling. I designed hi-fi prototypes that combine elements of online crossword-lexicons, encyclopedias and a visualization of the word in the German alphabet. After testing these on genealogists I could conclude that the prototypes made it possible for test subjects to identify words that they could not otherwise read. Seeing suggestions of words in the same alphabet as the source word makes it easier to identify the correct word. The prototypes and test texts contained a very limited amount of words and further research is needed concerning how to order and choose among word matches in a large lexicon to facilitate finding the correct word.

The report then continues to describe the development phase for the different parts of the system which results in a complete system. The company that wanted this system is called Orbit One and is located in Ronneby, Sweden. They have had a problem with old documents circulating in different versions and in different binders. Now thanks to their new system they can access their documents easy and on demand through their intranet.

I takt med ökad digitalisering blir digital tillgänglighet alltmer aktuellt då många vardagsaktiviteter idag måste utföras online. Behovet av yrkesverksamma personer som har kunskap om digital tillgänglighet är stort men trots detta är det få universitet i Europa som erbjuder utbildning inom ämnet. På uppdrag av Karlstads universitet har underlag till en ny kurs om digital tillgänglighet tagits fram. Främst fokuserar studien på en modul i kursen som handlar om tillgänglighet i dokument. Undersökningen är tänkt att svara på frågor om vilket kursinnehåll bör ingå i en kurs om digital tillgänglighet samt vad bör ingå i en kursmodul om tillgänglighet i dokument. Det kursunderlag som tagits fram har pilottestats genom applicering på kursen Framtida webbstandarder som gick under vårterminen 2021. Kursen pilottestades för att identifiera förbättringsmöjligheter innan kursen officiellt blir en del av Karlstads universitets kursutbud. Undersökningens metod har bestått av två delmoment: design och utvärdering av kursen. Designen av kursen har baserats på en litteraturstudie där lagar, standarder, riktlinjer, certifieringar och andra publikationer satte ramarna för kursinnehållet. Utvärderingen av kursens upplägg och innehåll har grundats på observationer, enkätundersökning och intervjuer. Observationer av föreläsningar och workshops har utförts för att kunna se hur materialet blev bemött av studenter och lärare. En enkätundersökning har genomförts för att samla in studenternas upplevelser och åsikter om kursen. En intervju har hållits med en av kursens undervisande lärare för att samla in dennes åsikter om kursupplägget. Ytterligare en intervju har hållits med två grafiker som arbetar med att tillgänglighetsanpassa dokument för att verifiera upplägget för kursmodulen om tillgänglighet i dokument. Resultatet av undersökningen visar att en kurs om digital tillgänglighet bör lära ut grunderna om begreppet tillgänglighet och även ta upp lagar, standarder och direktiv såsom webbtillgänglighetsdirektivet. Vidare bör kursinnehållet vara fokuserat på hemsidor, mobilapplikationer och dokument vilka är de tre delarna som täcks in av lagen om tillgänglighet till digital offentlig service. Som kompletterande innehåll kan även hjälpmedel, användbarhet och design för alla omfattas av kursen. En kursmodul om tillgänglighet i dokument bör innehålla både teoretiska och praktiska moment där studenterna får granska, korrigera och validera dokument. Innehållet i kursmodulen bör kopplas till standarden EN 301 549 som ställer krav på tillgänglighet i dokument. Minst två dokumenttyper bör behandlas, lämpligen PDF och Word.

Författarna till detta arbete fick en förfrågan från den pedagogiska utvecklaren på Storvreta förskoleenhet om att förverkliga ett utav Uppsala kommuns sju rumskoncept. Rumskoncepten är ett led i Uppsala kommuns strävan efter att skapa så likvärdig utbildning som möjligt på alla kommunala förskolor. Denna rapport beskriver den process som författarna genomgick i skapandet av en utforskande sandmiljö inomhus på en förskola. I skapandet av den upplevelseprototyp som placerades på den aktuella förskolan utgick författarna dels ifrån Ett förståelsefördjupande dokument om lärmiljöer, men även från de tankar och idéer som Uppdragsgivare och Användare framförde. Det arbetssätt som författarna valde att använda för att utveckla prototypen var en Human-Centered design. Hela processen mynnade ut i en upplevelseprototyp som bestod av två kubformade byggkonstruktioner med tillhörande stationer, där sand var det centrala materialet. Stationerna syftade till att främja ett utforskande och undersökande arbetssätt. Det sociokulturella perspektivet på lärande samt den konstruktionistiska teoribildningen har genomsyrat hela arbetet. Den upplevelseprototyp som blev resultatet av processen utvärderades med hjälp utav intervjuer med Användarna där det framkom att lärmiljön uppfyllde de syften som var uppsatta för detta arbete. Den lärmiljö som författarna placerade på förskolan är endast ett sätt att lösa den uppgift författarna fick, men den kan förhoppningsvis inspirera andra till att utveckla lärmiljöer som främjar ett utforskade och undersökande arbetssätt.

Hensikt: Hensikten meddenne studien var å beskrive hvem som får uttale seg, hvordan uttalelser blir implementert og hvordan folkehelseperspektivet og universell utforming ivaretas i norske offentlige dokumenter, samt å se om demokratiske rettigheter ivaretas. Metode: Det ble anvendt kvalitativ dokumentanalyse med supplerende intervjuer, og nasjonal transportplan 2014 –2023 (NTP) ble benyttet som eksempel.178 dokumenter ble gjennomgått: 175 høringsuttalelser, et dokument med privatpersoners meninger, samt utkast til og vedtatt NTP 2014 –2023. Resultat:175 høringsuttalelser ble mottatt i arbeidet med NTP2014 –2023, men uttalelser fra 18 fylkeskommuner og storbykommunene Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim og Stavanger ble vektlagt mest. Endel uttalelser omhandlet folkehelse, særlig knyttet til økt bruk av gange og sykling. Universell utforming ble ogsånevnt blant innkommende høringsuttalelser, mens folkehelseaspektet generelt ble lite prioritert av mange aktører. Mange høringsuttalelser omhandlet i stedet ønsker om økte økonomiske rammer til anleggsarbeider. Konklusjon: Analysen viste at hensynet til universell utforming ivaretas, men at folkehelseperspektivetog helsefremmende arbeidbør løftes i større grad.Det kan virke som om en del fokuser knyttet til økonomiske hensyn, uten at blikket løftes og det ses fremover på fremtidige innsparinger. Det bør fortsatt arbeides for at så mange som muligfår anledning til å uttale seg i utarbeidelsen av offentlige norske dokumenter slik at demokratiske rettigheter ivaretas.Aim:This study aimed to describe who is given the opportunity to commenton Norwegian public documents; how comments are implemented; and how theperspective on public health and universal design is maintained. It also aimed to determine whether democraticrights were ensured. Method: Thestudy used qualitative document analysis with supplemental interviews, and Norway’s National Transport Plan 2014 –2023 (NTP) was used as an example. 178 documents were examined: 175 consultative statements, one document containing individualopinions, and the draft and adopted version of NTP 2014 –2023. Results: Among 175 consultative statements received during the preparation of NTP 2014 –2023, consultat ivestatements from 18 County Councils and the municipalities Oslo, Bergen Trondheim and Stavanger received the most emphasis. Some statements addressed public health, especially increased use of walking or bicycling, and many mentioned universal design.The public health aspect in general,was not a priorityamong many actors. Instead, many statements indicated a desirefor increased funding for construction work. Conclusion: The analysis revealed that considerations regarding universal design are maintained, whereas public health and health promotion should receive increased attention. Many comments focused on economic considerations, but none appeared to look ahead and identify potential savings. It is still necessary to ensure that as many as possible are given the opportunity to speak their mind, in order for democratic rights to be maintained

Uppsatsen faller inom ämnet bildproduktion och undersöker metoder inom dokumentärklippning och mer specifikt cinema vérité-material. I studien utforskas hur dokumentärklippning kan skapa maximal dramatisk effekt men samtidigt behålla en känsla av autenticitet i materialet. Studien baserar sig på en forskning genom design-metod och utgår från teoretisk kunskap om klippning som därefter prövas praktiskt i ett produktionsarbete. Produktionsarbetet har värderats genom kvalitativa fokusgruppssessioner med sammanlagt åtta deltagare. Dessa diskussioner har analyserats med hjälp av en idealtypsanalys. Resultaten visar att ljudet har stor påverkan på hur tittaren upplever materialet, samt att musik kan förstärka känslan och stämningen i en scen. Tittarens upplevelse påverkas även av tempot i scenen och hur mycket tid som ges för kontemplation. Sammanfattningsvis visar studien på att flera metoder kan förhöja underhållningsvärdet i en scen, men att det i slutändan är materialets formbarhet som avgör till vilken grad detta kan göras. Uppsatsen belyser dessutom att klippning inte är något som endast går att lära sig genom att läsa teori, utan behöver utövas praktiskt då allt material har sina unika förutsättningar och möjligheter.

Pateikiami analitiniai modeliai, taikomi mazgų ašinės laikomosios galios skaičiavimo algoritmams sudaryti, pateikiamiems projektavimo norminiuose dokumentuose. Aprašomas mazgą sudarančių konstrukcinių elementų projektavimas pagal STR 2.05.08:2005 ir EN 1993-1-1 reikalavimus, bei mazgų ašinės laikomosios galios nustatymas pagal STR 2.05.08:2005 8-tą priedą, bei EN 1993-1-8.
Darbe atlikta skaitinė projektavimo normose pateikiamų santvarinių konstrukcijų tiesioginio jungimo mazgų ašinės laikomosios galios nustatymo lyginamoji analizė. Suprojektuota santvarinė konstrukcija, kurios skaičiuojamoji schema parinkta tokia, kad būtų išanalizuoti visi projektavimo normose pateikiami tiesioginio jungimo mazgų tipai. Įrąžoms konstrukciniuose elementuose nustatyti pasinaudota kompiuterine skaičiavimo programa Staad.pro. Konstrukcinių elementų elgsenos mazge analizei pasinaudota kompiuterine programa CosmosWorks. Ištirta pagrindinių skaičiavimo algoritmuose pateikiamų rodiklių įtaka mazgo laikomąjai galiai. Norint parinkti santvaros konstrukcinius elementus ir nustatyti mazgų skaičiuotinę ašinę laikomąją galią bei atlikti skaitinę analizę buvo pasinaudota... [toliau žr. visą tekstą]This master thesis considers design and estimation of truss joints between square hollow sections. Behaviuor of joints and its failure modes analyzed. The posibility to apply the yield line theory for analytical models considered. Analytical models used for determining the design capacity of the joint formulae in design guids presented. Truss members design following STR 2.05.08:2005 and EN 1993-1-1 and joint design capacity calculation following STR 2.05.08:2008 8-th annex and EN 1993-1-8 presented. It was made numerical convergence analysis between diferent design guidilines for estimating design capacity of the joint in this study. Truss structure designed, including all most commonly known joint types. Truss member loiding estimated using structural design and analysis software Staad.Pro. The behaviuor of the joint designed using finite element analysis software Cosmos.Works. Also the influence of governing joint parameters for the design capacity equations analysed. For truss structure design, capacity of the joint calculations and numerical analysis the calculation program was made using Microsoft Office Exel software.

I denna rapport beskriver jag hur jag tagit mig an ett rumslig informationsproblem som grundar sig i personer med demenssjukdoms mentala förmåga att orientera sig. Min bakgrund som undersköterska i kombination med min kunskap i hur rum påverkar människans beteende gör att jag reagerat på de miljöer där dessa personer vistas. Studien är genomförd på Marielunds äldreboende och seniorboende i Eskilstuna kommun och syftar till att främja de boendes självständighet.Resultatet visar arkitekturens komplexitet och observationen av boendet avslöjar en mängd rumsliga hinder som påverkar orienterbarheten negativt för personer med demenssjukdom. Utifrån teorier om hur vi människor orienterar oss och hur demenssjukdom påverkar den kognitiva förmågan har ett gestaltningsförslag på ett vägledningssystem tagits fram. Forskningen visar på behovet av anpassning av boendemiljöer för personer med demenssjukdom och att en medveten färgsättning kan hjälpa dessa personer till ett mer självständigt liv. Vägledningssystemet är designat för att leda betraktaren med hjälp av referenspunkter i form av färgkodade väggmoduler och ledtrådar i form av linjer i golvet. Slutsatserna av studien visar att en tydligare översikt av miljön och visuella hjälpmedel kan göra så att de boende klarar sig bättre själv vilket i sin tur gör att de kan bo kvar hemma längre.This report describes how I have engaged a spatial information problem based in the cognitive ability of people with dementia and their ability to orient themselves. My academic knowledge of how space affects people’s behavior in combination with my experience as a secondary nurse have made me react to the environments in which these people reside. The study was conducted at Marielunds nursing home and senior housing in the city of Eskilstuna and aims to encourage residents independence. The result shows the architecture’s complexity and the observation of the housing reveals a variety of spatial barriers that affect the ease of orientation negatively for people with dementia. Based on theories of how we orient ourselves and how dementia affects the cognitive ability I have developed a design proposal for a guidance system. The research demonstrates the need for adaptation of living environments for people with dementia and that a deliberate color scheme can help these people to a more independent life. The guidance system is designed to lead the viewer with reference points in the form of color-coded wall modules and visual clues in the form oflines in the floor. The findings of this study show that a more clear overview of the environmental and visual aids can help the residents to a more independent life witch will allow them to stay in their own home longer.

- j - Legal Design Abstract Legal world found itself in a situation when it is forced by rising demand and new tech- nologies to seek new ways to practice law. It is not sufficient anymore to simply provide bare legal services without acknowledging context and users' actual needs. Some degree of automatization and cost cutting of basic legal work has found its way into the legal practice. In accordance with trends about transparency and publicity of state administration, raises also demand to make law more affordable. Legal world was able to resist changes for a long time due to the lawyers' lack of motivation to do so and clients' ignorance of possibilities base on their lack of legal understanding. However, the situation is starting to change as can be seen on rising numbers of legal innovation start-ups. There are many possible solutions to these new challenges, and one of them is Legal De- sign. This discipline tries to implement design methodology into legal services with the goal of creating valuable innovations. This thesis considers two questions, "How children aged 12 to 15 years rethinking of biblical texts? And how can using the Philosophy for Children stimulate thinking about faith of children aged 12 to 15 years?" To answer these questions, I chose the qualitative research, which consisted in various discussions in selected focus groups. This dialogue was guided by the principles of philosophy for children. The theoretical part of my thesis deals with the definition of important concepts, such as religious education, catechesis from the perspective of various documents of the Church and other educational programs, and specifying the key differences between these two concepts, define the structure and principles of philosophy for children, but also the historical development of this program. The practical part deals with the qualitative research in focus groups. This research includes discussion of selected focus groups, where individual statements are encoded and then included in the table of frequencies. According to these tables discussions is evaluated in terms of statements frequencies. Subsequently the content of discussions is also evaluated. The codes are divided into categories from which discussions are evaluated in the final summary with answers to the key questions.
